  • Who is this tour for? Visitors to Atlanta. Looking for good restaurants? We give you a sampling of places you may want to return to, and make other recommendations for some of Atlanta's best places to eat. It's also a great way to experience the Atlanta BeltLine - there is no better place in the city to people watch! Just Moved to Atlanta. Welcome! As you get to know your way around, let us show you the popular Old Fourth Ward neighborhood and its many restaurants. We are glad to give you additional recommendations for where to go in Atlanta. Metro Atlantans. Have you heard about the BeltLine, but have no idea where to start? We take all the guesswork out of it for you. We make everything easy, including telling you where to park. Let us show you some of the city's best restaurants, so you can return there later. Even if you've been on the BeltLine before, you will probably discover places and things you haven't seen before. Some of our tour participants had been on the Eastside Trail a number of times, but hadn't been to any of the restaurants we feature. Celebrations. Birthdays. Bachelorette parties. Couples night out. Book our Saturday morning tour, or contact us to create a private, customized tour for you. Corporate events. Looking for a teambuilding activity to bring everyone together after the long COVID separation? We can create a fun, customized tour for your company on a day/time of your choosing.
  • Will I get enough to eat? We offer tasting size portions from 4 restaurants to give you a diverse sampling of Atlanta's culinary scene. Many people are full by the end of the tour.
  • What if it rains? Bring an umbrella! We won't let a little rain dampen our fun. Both our Food Tour and Doggie Crawl are held rain or shine. On our Food Tour, we eat inside restaurants. On our Doggie Crawl, we eat on covered patios and spend more time in the restaurants and shops and less time on the BeltLine, in the event of rain.
  • Can I bring my kids? For now, this is an adults only tour. You deserve a break from your kids! We do serve alcohol on our tours, and you must be 21+ and present valid ID in order to drink. Those 18 and older may come on the tours and have a non-alcoholic drink. The tours are not appropriate for children or infants. But we'll be sure to share some tips for kid-friendly spots, so you can bring them back the next time.
  • Are there vegetarian/GF options? We applaud your healthy eating! Yes, we now have the option to be vegan, dairy-free or gluten-free at an additional charge (to cover the costs of ordering food just for you). Otherwise, our tours are meant to give you diverse food offerings. Please let us know if you have a food allergy, and we will try to accommodate it.
  • How much walking is involved? We walk about 1 mile, at a moderate pace, enough to give you an experience of the BeltLine and its restaurants without tiring you out. Walking is mostly on a flat concrete surface.
  • I changed my mind, can I get a refund? We understand that plans can change. We are happy to reschedule or cancel your booking up to 24 hours before a Food Tour and 48 hours before a Doggie Crawl. No shows will not receive a refund. To reschedule or cancel, call us or email us at [email protected]. Please be sure to include your name and a rescheduled date, if applicable.
  • What should I wear/bring? Wear walking shoes and cool, comfortable clothes - Atlanta gets hot! Carry a water bottle to stay hydrated, and an umbrella if it looks like rain. And be sure to bring a driver's license to show proof of age to drink alcohol if you are 21+. There are also many photo opps along the BeltLine, so make sure your phone is charged!
  • Can I take pictures? Yes please! And be sure to tag us on Facebook and Instagram @bitelinesatl
  • Where do I park? There are several paid parking garages within a block of Krog Street Market. The parking situation around the BeltLine changes frequently, and we try to provide the most updated information to our tour guests in confirmation and reminder emails.
  • Can my dog/cat come? Want to bring your dog along? We've got just the tour for you. It's Barks & Bites: Doggie Food Crawl on the BeltLine. We eat on restaurant patios, and this tour caters to your dog. On our BeltLine Food and Street Art Tour, we cannot bring our dogs - or any other pets - as we eat inside restaurants. And frankly, our fur babies would be bored anyway.
  • Do you offer custom tours? Yes we do! If you want to entertain clients, invite a group of friends to a birthday dinner or throw a bachelorette party - we got you. We work with you to create a customized tour on a day and time you select. Email us with your request at [email protected] or call us at 404.301.3751 to discuss.
  • Do you sell gift cards? Yes, and our tours make a great gift for the foodie, or dog lover, in your life! They can be used for any tour up to 1 year from purchase. Book here.
  • What is included on the Doggie Crawl? This is a unique dining experience for dogs! We go to 2 restaurants, where your pup gets 2 entrees, a barkarita and a dessert. You also get small bites at each stop + 1 craft beer or soda. On this leisurely stroll down the BeltLine for your pup to stretch their legs, we stop at 2 trendy pet boutiques, so your fur baby can go shopping and bring home swag bags. There is a drawing for a fun prize on every crawl, and you'll get lots of giveaways from local and national dog businesses.
  • What restaurants do we go to? We go to 2 popular restaurants on the Atlanta BeltLine. The restaurants change from time to time, but we have had burgers, hot dogs, Chicken Philly Cheesteaks and pup cups for the furry foodies, and Chicken Philly, chili dogs, burgers and fries for their paw-rents. The menu items are primarily focused on your pup. If you are interested in sampling some of Atlanta's best restaurants for yourself, we encourage you to book our Food Tour on the Atlanta BeltLine.
  • How often is the Doggie Crawl held? Generally, every other Sunday. Please check our calendar for exact dates.
  • What if it rains? We hate to cancel a Doggie Crawl and disappoint our guests. (Sometimes they even plan to celebrate their dog's birthday). So we hold the Doggie Crawl even if it rains, and we will spend more time in the restaurants and shops, and limit the time on the BeltLine. We will also have a few towels to dry the doggies, and encourage you to bring whatever rain gear and towels you need. This is your pup's chance to show off their raincoat. We won't let a little rain spoil our fun!
  • How much walking is involved? We go for an easy stroll on the BeltLine - it is about 1.2 miles total.
  • Where does the Doggie Crawl end? We end on the BeltLine near Krog Street Market.
  • How many dogs can I bring? You can bring up to 3 fur babies per booking. First, select the Adult with Dog ticket, then choose “Additional Dogs.” You can select 1 or 2.
  • Does my doggie sit inside the restaurant? We sit on restaurant patios. They are all dog-friendly and provide water bowls, and sometimes additional treats. We do not bring dogs inside restaurants, in accordance with Georgia health laws.
  • What if something comes up and I can’t make it? No problem! We encourage you to book early, as this event is very popular. You can cancel up to 48 hours before the Doggie Crawl to reschedule for another date, or get a full refund. No-shows will be charged the full price and will not receive a refund or credit.
  • Can I come if I don’t have a dog? Our focus is on spoiling our furry friends with a gourmet dining experience. If you do not have a dog, borrow one from a friend or family member!
  • How many friends/family members can I bring? If you want to bring someone, we offer a companion ticket as a courtesy at a reduced price. Because we want to leave enough space for the dogs, we allow 1 companion with each Adult with Dog.
  • Can I give this as a gift to someone? Yes! This is a great gift for your favorite paw-rent and their pup. Select Gift Cards from the menu bar on our website, and select the amount you would like. Gift cards are redeemable for any available Doggie Crawl, up to 1 year from purchase.
  • Are children allowed? The Doggie Crawl is appropriate for adults 17+. We do not allow children at this time.
  • How can I become a pawt-ner for this event? We paw-tner with several local and national pet companies who provide giveaways for our furry guests. If you are interested in offering your product or service to our canine customers, we would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected]. Please note that this is a moving crawl – we do not have anywhere for vendors to set up tables or booths.

Best places to eat in Atlanta, GA | Atlanta Eats

ATL’s Top Black-Owned Vegan Restaurants & Food Trucks

For years, Atlanta was pretty much a vegan and vegetarian food desert. But now, it’s never been easier to eat plant-based thanks to amazing options all around the city. Here are some of our favorite minority owned vegan spots!

View this post on Instagram                         A post shared by Big Fat Vegan (@bigfatvegann)

ATL Food Truck Park

You can find Atlanta’s only vegan/vegetarian food truck park over on Howell Mill Road, featuring awesome small businesses like Big Fat Vegan food truck, No Meat Eats, and Plant Based Kitchn. It’s all of Atlanta’s best vegan eats in one place!

First Batch

First Batch has vegan and non-vegans alike absolutely raving! Their ice cream is something they’re especially known for, but everything is phenomenal, super fresh and made from scratch. You should also order up their cinnamon rolls!

GAS Food Truck

Couple Kelli Marshall and Jeff Fleming started GAS Food Truck together. Their creatively named, cannabis themed eats take inspiration from Fleming’s hometown of NYC. The “How High” chopped cheese is a bestseller–cheesy, “meaty,” goodness with perfectly spiced sidewinder fries. Yum!

Local Greens Atlanta

Local Greens is more than just a restaurant, it’s a place with a mission. Not only is their food mouthwatering good, it’s also all pretty much good for you. And owner Zak Wallace opened up this place on the Westside with health in mind and out of a desire to bring affordable deliciousness to the food desert on the Westside. The menu is mostly plant-based, though there are some healthy seafood items on the menu as well. You’ll love their delicious rosemary and cajun air-fried fries, their vegan cauliflower tacos, and their classic beyond cheeseburger!

Plant Based Pizzeria - Burger | Photo: plantbasedpizzeria.

Plant Based Pizzeria

Owners Paul Jordan and Marisa Acoff have been killing the vegan game with Plant Based Pizzeria. It’s already been frequented by Atlanta celebrities like Jermaine Dupri and Keri Hilson, and it only takes one slice to see why. You can also order a gluten-free crust!

A burger from The Slutty Vegan

Slutty Vegan

You can’t talk about vegan food in Atlanta without talking about the phenomenon that is Pinky Cole’s Slutty Vegan. She totally struck gold with her Slutty Vegan concept, and the hype is real!  This isn’t your bland salad, carrot juice type of vegan spot—it’s cheat day, cheesy, tasty, craveworthy vegan food you’ll dream about all week long. Pinky Cole was serving impossible burgers way before they were cool, and just one taste of her creation and you’ll see why the lines are so long and pretty much every ATL celeb has been spotted here. Be sure to also check out Bar Vegan in Ponce City Market, her newest venture opening up this month!

Tassili's Raw Reality Cafe - Punany Wrap

Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe

We never thought we’d be passionate about a kale wrap, but then we tried Tassili’s. Their wraps are humongous and packed with flavor and hugely addicting, drawing lines and a real lunch rush day after day at their Westside location. The Punany Wrap is a total winner!

V Taste Cakes

Young business owner Jasmyn Reddicks has struck cake gold with her vegan cakes that are absolute works of art! Featuring spectacular designs and classic flavors, V Taste Cakes is the perfect place to check out next time you are hosting a birthday celebration with some vegan friends in attendance. The red velvet cake is extra dreamy–a total crowd pleaser.

WTF! Food Truck - Chili Cheezburger | Photo: Facebook/WTF-Vegan-Fast-Food-2224541977824082

WTF Food Truck

Didn’t think you could eat vegan and enjoy junk food? Think again. WTF (Wonderful Tasting Food) Food Truck is proving plant-based is every bit as delicious as you could ever possibly imagine. With epic meals like chili cheezburgers, unchikn strips, and breakfast sandwiches, this is the place to go for all your meatiest cravings but without the actual meat.

Vegan Tour Companies You Need to Book

“What in the world did you eat,” my co-workers would ask, dumbfounded at the thought of me leaving the country. To them, I would have to either have to pack a mountain of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or stave — neither were even close to reality.

When I first started traveling, I’ll be honest, it wasn’t all vegan ice cream sundaes and Beyond burgers — sometimes finding decent vegan food options was a challenge, and the thought of booking a vegan tour was downright laughable!

Luckily, all of that has changed.

Is The Demand for Vegan Travel Increasing?

Many cities and towns have begun to showcase a variety of vegan options — whether you’re in Germany and want to try vegan schnitzel or in France and want to indulge in crepes filled with cream, you can!

Vegan options don’t just end with food.

We’re now starting to see a rise in vegan hotels and B &Bs, as well as major hotel chains adding vegan options. In 2019, Hilton opened its first fully vegan suite at the Hilton Bankside in London , and others like The Marriott have upgraded their menus with vegan-friendly options.

the inside of the new vegan suite at hilton london bankside

GlobalData recently shared the results of a survey conducted in 2020 that shows vegan-friendly tourism is on the rise. “Nearly 76 percent responded that ethical and environmental sourcing of food influenced their choices.” While Responsible Travel CEO and Founder, Justin Francis shared that between 2016 – 2019 bookings for their vegan holidays grew by 120%.

This rise in interest and demand is leading to more vegan travel options, including tours — whether it’s for an entire trip or just a day excursion, there are options!

Why Choose a Vegan Tour?

For travelers who don’t want to worry about learning, “is this vegan,” or “I don’t eat eggs, milk, or dairy,” in another language, a vegan tour is a perfect option. Tour operators and creators take all the stress out of planning — their clients only have to worry about capturing the moment and enjoying the experience.

And it’s not all about the food (surprisingly enough).

Some vegan tour companies ensure that your entire tour is cruelty-free and free of any animal exploitation. So, if you’ve ever wanted to go on a responsible African safari or see the Gorillas in Rwanda but worried about how they were being treated, there’s a vegan tour for it!

elephants snacking on hunks of squash at chang chill in chiang mai

In addition to Instagram-worthy vegan feasts and cruelty-free exploration, many vegan tour companies are also concerned about the environment and ensuring that their travel is sustainable. It’s common to see many of these companies investing in carbon neutrality to offset their clients’ footprints, utilizing local partners to give back to the community, and donating to the communities where they travel.

If you’re daydreaming of your next vegan-filled adventure, be sure to check out these vegan tour companies.

Veggies Abroad Vegan Tours

Incase you didn’t know, we offer vegan-friendly tours to destinations around the globe!

In addition to being vegan-friendly all of the itineraries are also created as sustainably as possible. We’ve partnered with the Certified B Corp. company, Intrepid Travel to ensure we and our travelers are supporting local communities and businesses as much as possible, while minimizing our environmental impact.

As a company, we have an unwavering dedication to leaving a positive footprint on the destinations that we explore. In addition to this, I also offer travel advisory services focused on creating vegan-friendly and sustainable itineraries; if you’d rather go somewhere else, reach out and let me help plan your dream vegan vacation!

The company started with just three vegan tours in India in 2004 and today manages 27 tours in 10 countries throughout Asia, including Thailand, Laos, Singapore, Nepal, and many more.

Aside from ensuring your entire experience is vegan-friendly, they take it a step further and want to ensure that all of their guests connect with the places that they visit. They do this through humanitarian projects, volunteer work, and organizing opportunities for guests to visit local villages and share a meal. Their goal is to “build bridges of cultural understanding between guests and the communities they visit.”

The resort and liveaboard experiences are worldwide and always include tasty plant-based fare. Each resort is vetted and ensured it has the highest standards for diving and veganism. In addition to booking the dive trip of a lifetime, Infinite Blue can also help get to your destination and book land excursions (you can’t dive every moment of the day).

Also, when you book, 5%+  of all profits are donated to local organizations — not only do you get to have an amazing experience, but you get to help wildlife and the local economy!

#5 World Vegan Travel

With a quick scan of their website, you’ll be calculating just how many vacation days you have left — choosing just one of their luxury vegan tours will be a feat! The company focuses on high-end group travel packages that explore lip-smacking vegan Italian cuisine in Italy to experiencing South Africa’s gorgeous Garden Route, complete with sightings of rhinos, lions, and more.

When you book a tour with World Vegan Travel, the only thing you have to worry about is getting to the destination; they will handle everything else. From ensuring you start your day with a vegan breakfast fit for a queen to confirming that the bedding in your room is vegan-friendly, they’ve got it handled.

Often the tours have special guests from renowned chefs to authors, activists, and more. It is sure to be an experience that you won’t forget.

About Pinky Cole

Pinky has been recognized by prestigious organizations all over the U.S., including being named to Restaurant Hospitality’s 2021 Power List, Forbes Next 1000, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 100 Powerful Women in Business List, LA Wire Influential Women of 2020 and most recently, Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 List and PETA’s 2021 Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities List.

Pinky made national headlines for raising 25 million in series A funding and the company has been valued at over 100 million. Pinky has graced the cover of Essence Magazine & INC 5000 , as well as featured in Business Insider, Washington Post, People Magazine, Forbes, and dozens more media outlets as one of the world’s most prominent and outspoken celebrities in food and philanthropy. Pinky opened new Slutty Vegan locations in 2022 including the latest in Birmingham, Alabama & Brooklyn, New York with another 10 planned for 2023.

Pinky Cole has also taken her expertise to the literary world with her new book released in Fall 2022, just nominated for an NAACP Award. With mouth-watering photographs and easy-to-follow instructions, Pinky’s first recipe book Eat Plants, B*tch celebrates her belief that it’s fun and accessible to cook and enjoy irresistible vegan comfort food. From Avocado Egg Rolls to her Black Pea Cauliflower Po’Boy or Oyster Mushroom Parm and everything in between, it won’t be long before the world will also be declaring Pinky’s timeless mantra: Eat Plants, B*tch!

In conjunction with the release of the book, Pinky hosted the “Pinky Cole Experience Tour” which literally reinvents what a book tour can be and brings Pinky to meet fans across America. With her comes celebrity moderators, DJs, executive chefs, Slutty Vegan food trucks serving mouthwatering dishes from “Eat Plants, B*tch” and refreshing Stubborn Soda, an exclusive book signing, special surprise guests in each city, and more.

Pinky is also the Executive Producer (Slutty Productions) of her new series “American Sesh” where they will visit multiple cities across America to host their “Think Tank” for special invited guests at iconic locations. 16 lucky people are chosen every Sesh ‘class’ to meet and exchange ideas with the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. Since it’s conception, creatives have been in a chokehold to get a literal seat at the table. Integrated with the touring show is a social media craze that comes from fans uploading their elementary and middle school photos superimposed on the blue couch for a chance to win a seat and become part of the show.

Pinky Cole headshot

She eventually made her first foray into the culinary world with her popular restaurant, Pinky’s Jamaican and American Restaurant, in New York, which tragically burned down. Pinky relocated to Atlanta and came up with Slutty Vegan during a late-night craving for mouthwatering vegan fast food in Atlanta. From there, she started cooking vegan burgers in a shared kitchen in August 2018, and the Slutty Vegan empire was born. The wildly popular, game-changing concept has not slowed down since opening. Known for its standard two-hour line to pick up made-to-order food, the company’s revenues grew to $4 million within the first six months of its grand opening. Today, customers can break free from kale and quinoa salads and enjoy Slutty Vegan from its “Big ‘Ol Slut” food truck in neighborhoods across Metro Atlanta and at brick-and-mortar locations, in Jonesboro, Duluth & Athens Georgia, Atlanta’s West End and Edgewood neighborhoods, Birmingham, Alabama, and Brooklyn, New York.

Defying the odds is in Pinky’s DNA. The daughter of Jamaican immigrants, Cole learned the value of hard work, serving the community and giving back from her mother, who worked four jobs to support their family and her father. Although he was sentenced to Federal Prison the day she was born, Cole’s father provided business strategy guidance that’s instilled in her today from behind bars. One of his greatest lessons was to create your own opportunity.

Now a mother herself, Pinky does just that, pouring all her love, experience and talent into a recipe for success. While restaurants are closing, Slutty Vegan has opened two locations with socially distanced lines down the block. While record numbers of people are unemployed, Slutty Vegan is providing sustainable employment. Though, Cole’s impact does not stop there. In May 2019, Pinky established The Pinky Cole Foundation. In partnership with another philanthropist, she has paid rent for struggling local businesses, paid the tuition of 30 Clark Atlanta University students, purchased a car and life insurance for the family of Rayshard Brooks who was murdered by a police officer in spring 2020, and gifted LLCs to the Clark Atlanta University graduating class of 2022, encouraging them to go down the same entrepreneurship path that she has flourished along. Pinky also teamed up with Derrick Hayes of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks to spearhead the Square 1: The Liife Experience, a program with an initiative to provide life insurance policies by December 2023 to 25,000 Black men to support their health and generate generational wealth in the black community.

A must-do! -  We wanted to have a set activity, but wanted to still be able to socialize with each other and relax. The bus picked us up from our brunch location, drove us to three different wonderful breweries, and then dropped us back off. Everything was so easy and organized. The company was easy to get in touch with.
