How to watch Tour de Suisse live stream 2023 — schedule and start times

1097km long and 18,000 vertical metres over 8 days of pain

Two cyclist corner on a descent in the Tour de Suisse

The last sizeable stage race before 'the big one', the Tour de Suisse offers a final chance for riders to fine tune their race form. After his Covid curtailed Giro, Remco Evenepoel will be keen to make use of the form he so carefully built for the Italian race and take home the win but will face stiff competition from the likes of Tom Pidcock, Juan Ayuso and Romain Bardet.

With the whole race still in shock following the death of Gino Mäder during stage 5 it was understandable that there was little impetus to race stage 7. Three teams left the race overnight along with many other riders too upset to continue, leaving those who signed on to ride tempo until the last climb. Muted hostilities were resumed here and fittingly it was world champion Remco Evenepole who broke away to ride solo to a symbolic and emotional victory, honouring the memory of a life lost too young.

This tragic edition of the Tour de Suisse will conclude with stage 8, the second individual time trial where riders will resume the race for the overall victory, each one carrying the memory of Gino with them, inspiring them to push harder around the 25.7km from St. Gallen to Abtwi.

Other big names lining up to get into the swing of things before the ‘Grande Boucle’ are the irrepressible Wout Van Aert and Eritrean sensation Biniam Girmay. Read on as we explain how to get a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream and watch UCI WorldTour cycling online and on TV from anywhere today. We also have info on this year’s Tour de Suisse stages and start times below.

Bookended by time trials – the first a 12.7km test around the monastery village of Einsiedeln and the second, on stage 8, a 25.7 km course from St. Gallen to Abtwil – this year's race has attracted top TT talent like Stefan Bissinger and Stefan Küng.

In-between these flat stages, though, these heavier riders will face a whole world of pain as the race covers some of Switzerland’s most feared mountains. With a summit finish on stage 3 up the vicious ascent to Villars-sur-Ollon, the general classification battle will be well and truly taking shape and things only get harder.

Stage 4 is another very lumpy affair but nothing compared to the Queen stage the following day. Stage 5 takes the riders over the legendary Furka Pass, the Oberalp and Albula to gain 4700m altitude over its 211km and it’s likely here is where the race will be won or lost.

Read on for everything you need to know to watch a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream from anywhere.

Tour de Suisse 2023 – First Class Field

Now 90 years after its inception the Tour de Suisse is as popular as ever. In the men’s race, the exceptional Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert leads a first class field of riders. The women’s race – with season high-flyer Demi Vollering – is part of the UCI Women’s WorldTour for the first time. And thanks to a lot of time trialling and even more altitude metres, Switzerland is looking strong.

Ten days before the start of the Tour de Suisse, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) points out as an absolute all-rounder on the start list. Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers), Biniam Girmay (Intermarché – Circus – Wanty) and the American Neilson Powless (EF Education – Easypost) would also be on the hunt for stage wins. Romain Bardet (Team DSM), Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) and Jakob Fuglsang (Isreal – Premier Tech) among others, also have their sights set on top results in the overall classification.

Two stages of the men’s Tour will be against the clock: the Tour de Suisse opens with a time trial in Einsiedeln and ends with one in St. Gallen. The two Thurgauer Stefans – Bissegger (EF Education – Easypost) and Küng (Groupama FDJ) – are specialists in this field and are keen to claim the Leader’s Jersey on June 11th. “The course in Einsiedeln suits me. My goal is to be on the top of the podium and to wear the yellow Leader’s Jersey after the race,” says Stefan Bissegger.

Many other Swiss competitors will be putting their best foot forward: “From a Swiss point of view I think Gino Mäder (Bahrain Victorious) or Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) are capable of competing for the overall victory,” says David Loosli, Sports Director of the Tour de Suisse. Mauro Schmid (Soudal Quick-Step), Sébastien Reichenbach and Simon Pellaud (both Tudor Pro Cycling) are also possible candidates for Stage wins.

A Farewell for Peter Sagan and Michael Schär

In its 90th year (86th edition), the Tour de Suisse will bid farewell to two defining figures of the modern era. Peter Sagan (TotalEnergies) holds the record of stage wins with 18 to his name. The 33-year-old Slovakian has announced his retirement from road cycling at the end of this season. Michael Schär (37, AG2R Citroen Team) from Lucerne is also riding his last season. The unmissable (1.98m tall) and universally appreciated peloton workhorse is looking forward to his final Tour de Suisse: “As a child I followed the Tour de Suisse from the roadside. Now at the end of my career to be able to ride another stage in my home region around Nottwil is something I’m especially looking forward to.”

Tour de Suisse Women: SD Worx versus the rest

The women’s Tour de Suisse is for the first time in the highest category (UCI Women’s World Tour). So far this season the Dutch team SD Worx is a power to be reckoned with. They already have 32 (!) victories to their credit. Swiss cyclist Marlen Reusser is right in the midst of it all and can look back on a very successful Spring herself. She makes no secret of her ambitions at the Tour de Suisse. “With the long time trial in St. Gallen and no really big mountains in the programme, Marlen has every reason to believe she can do well at the Tour de Suisse Women”, says David Loosli. At the Tour of the Basque Country in mid-May, Reusser proved that she can also compete for the overall victory in a Tour. In addition, team-mate and season dominator Demi Vollering, who calls the Basel region home, is considered a frontrunner for the overall victory.

The remaining teams will do everything they can to break the dominance of SD Worx. Possible candidates for this challenge are Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM Racing), Liane Lippert (Movistar Team Women), Gaia Realini (Trek – Segafredo) oder Marta Bastianelli (UAE Team ADQ).

Swiss Cyclists with an Outside Chance

Of course other Swiss cyclists will also try to make the best of the home ground advantage, be it in a breakaway or perhaps a Stage win. Current Swiss Road Champion Caroline Baur (Israel Premier Tech Roland): “It will definitely be a special feeling to ride the Tour de Suisse Women in the Swiss Champion jersey, especially as it takes place in my training area. I’m looking forward to my home race and will certainly be on hand to support our climbers in their efforts to achieve a top result.”

Despite the absence of the National Team, other ambitious Swiss competitors, for example Elise Chabbey (Canyon//SRAM Racing), Lea Fuchs (Born to Win – Zhiraf – G20) and Petra Stiasny (Fenix-Deceuninck) will be lining up at the start.

The final start lists for both races will be posted at  https://www.tourdesuisse.ch/en/  the evening before the respective race begins.

A Competitive Route

In the men’s Tour de Suisse, the Queens Stage on June 15th from Fiesch to La Punt with the Furka, Oberalp and Albula passes will be a highlight. The Pros have to conquer more than 4,700 metres of altitude. In addition, they will already have two tough mountain finishes in Villars-sur-Ollon and Leukerbad in their legs. “As expected the Tour de Suisse features a lot of altitude gain. This year, with the two time trials on 11th June in Einsiedeln and 18th June in St. Gallen, the Rouleurs will also be in demand,” says the Sports Director, David Loosli.

In the women’s race, after the opening circuit stage, there will also be a battle against the clock on Stage Two. After that, the women will also sample Switzerland’s mountainous topography. David Loosli says: “During stages three and four, the climbing specialists are in their element. On the way to Ebnat-Kappel on the third day and on the circuit in the same region on the fourth day, there are many sharp climbs that are ideal for attacks”.

Each day, the last two hours of the men’s race and 90 minutes of the women’s race will be broadcast live on television both nationally (SRF, RTS, RSI) and internationally (Eurosport and others).

Launched last year the  TdS FanZone  is levelling up. Together with the developers of LivXp and main partner Primeo Energie, the campaign has been refined and enhanced to give fans even more digital access to the Tour de Suisse.

In addition to the chance to wave the chequered flag at a Stage, there are many other exciting activities to discover before, during and after the Tour de Suisse:

  • Raffles of great prizes and experiences
  • Auctions of unique collector’s items
  • Live tracking of all stages during the Tour de Suisse 2023
  • Video wall with exclusive Tour de Suisse content

A Public Festival for Everyone

The Tour de Suisse provides more than sporting highlights along the route for people of all ages. In addition to the popular advertising caravan which travels approximately an hour in advance of the peloton there is a daily Kids Race to ride on the finishing straight, as well as the Partner Village to explore in the finish area.

Benoit Cosnefroy of France (on the left) and Demi Vollering of the Netherlands (on the right)

Verdict mercredi 17 avril...

Tour de Suisse 2023 route

The eight-day stage race in Switzerland features two time trials and over 18,000 metres of climbing

Stage 8: St. Gallen - Abtwil (ITT) 25.7km

The 86th edition of the Tour de Suisse, June , begins in central Switzerland before heading westward to Fribourg, Vaud and Valais regions.  The Queen Stage, on the fifth day features the Alpine crossings of Furka, Oberalp and Albula.

The route will then move eastward to the Thurgau and St. Gallen regions for the two final stages, ending the eight-day race with a time trial. The race divvies out plenty of climbing – more than 18,000 metres over 1097 kilometres in eight days.

Stage 1: Einsiedeln - Einsiedeln (ITT) 12.7km

Profile of stage 1 of Tour de Suisse 2023

This year's opener is an individual time trial in the monastery village of Einsiedeln on June 11, 2023. Though not considered a classic prologue at 12.7km long, stage 1 is expected to be a fast time trial with small time gaps for the contenders.

Stage 2: Beromünster - Nottwil, 173.7km

Profile for stage 2 of Tour de Suisse 2023

Stage 2 heads to the Mittelland for a hilly 174km circuit between Beromünster and Nottwil. However, as is often the case in Switzerland, sprinter stage or not, the terrain is not completely flat. In addition to speed, riders must overcome a total of 1,890 metres in altitude before they can fight for the stage win.

Stage 3: Tafers - Villars-sur-Ollon, 143.8km

Profile of stage 3 of Tour de Suisse 2023

Stage 3 with 2677 metres of climbing, the first stage in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, will provide the first mountain finish of the Tour de Suisse 2023. After the start in Tafers, the category 1 Col des Mosses is the first major obstacle of the day. The final climb to Villars-sur-Ollon is that the real test comes at the end of the 144km stage.

Stage 4: Monthey - Leukerbad, 152.5km

Profile of stage 4 of Tour de Suisse 2023

After more than 70 years the Tour de Suisse returns to Monthey for stage 4, which starts off with a 24 kilometre loop. Though the first 80 kilometres is completely flat, this stage will by no means be a rest day. The first challenge will take place on the ascent to Crans-Montana, a category 1 climb, 96km into the stage. The route follows more roller coaster terrain until the mountain finish in Leukerbad. The peloton will climb 1,500 metres of altitude on the 152.5km stage.

Stage 5: Fiesch - La Punt, 211km

Profile of stage 5 of Tour de Suisse 2023

The Queen Stage on June 15, 2023, has 4,700 metres of altitude difference spread over 211 kilometres. With the Alpine passes of Furka (the highest peak of this year’s Tour de Suisse), Oberalp and Albula, this will be an extremely tough stage. Shortly after the start in Fiesch, the peloton will begin climbing the hors categorie Furkapass (2,429m), with the summit coming  38.7km after the drop of the flag. The climb of the category 1 Oberalp Pass follows quickly. The third and final climb of the day, the hors categorie ascent of Albula Pass (2312m), crests with only 10 kilometres left in stage 5. The last kilometres will also require honed descent skills on the way to the finish in La Punt.

Stage 6: La Punt - Oberwil-Lieli, 215.3km

Profile of stage 6 of Tour de Suisse 2023

Stage 6 at 215km, is the longest of this year’s Tour de Suisse. From the start in  La Punt, the riders have to master the Albula Pass from the opposite direction to the previous day. A series of flat sections precede a steady up-and-down course for the last 50 kilometres or so. The last 2.4 kilometres to the finish are uphill to the finish in Oberwil-Lieli.

Stage 7: Tübach - Weinfelden, 162.7km

Profile of stage 7 of Tour de Suisse 2023

The concluding weekend of this year's men's tour will start with a classic stage from Tübach to Weinfelden. Starting off with a flat start loop along Lake Constance, the 160km long stage 7 passes through the hilly Appenzell region. The terrain gets hillier with short and punchy climbs at the course enter the half-cantons of Appenzell Inner- Ausserrhoden before flattening out slightly on the way to the finish. This penultimate stage  could provide a final opportunity for the sprinters to steal the limelight.

Profile of stage 8 of Tour de Suisse 2023

Stage 8, on June 18, is the 25.7km individual time trial from St. Gallen to Abtwil with 415 metres of climbing.

2024 Masters TV schedule, coverage, live stream, channel, how to watch streaming online, golf tee times

How to watch every memorable moment of the 2024 masters on tv or streaming live.

2024-masters-flag-schedule-g.jpg

The most wonderful time of the golf season reaches its conclusion Sunday as the beauty of April surrounds Augusta National Golf Club. The 2024 Masters started as a star-studded affair with a loaded field featuring the best golfers in the world and Scottie Scheffler entering as the favorite. Scheffler held that same position entering Round 4 and has only increased his advantage as the Masters rolls ot a finish.

Scheffler is looking to become the 10th golfer in Masters history to win two green jackets in a three-year span, and given his level of play over the last two years, no one is doubting he can accomplish his goal. Should he do so, he would pick up a $3.6 million winner's check out of a record  2024 Masters prize money allotment -- a $20 million purse .

While five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods set a new record at Augusta National by making the weekend in his 24th consecutive playing of the tournament, he completely ejected on Saturday with his worst score in a major championship round. Tiger rebounded Sunday while playing his 100th round at Augusta National  but nevertheless signed for a 16 over, his worst score to par at a major and the second-worst round overall across his professional career. (At least he wasn't among the major stars who missed the cut .)

Be sure to follow Masters live leaderboard coverage throughout the final round on Sunday for scores, analysis and highlights. It's a perfect second-screen complement to the Masters viewing experience provided to you by CBS.

While attending the Masters is a dream for many, simply being able to watch golf on the grandest stage of them all is an incredible treat each year, and we here at CBS Sports are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage of the Masters throughout this week.

CBS Sports offers extensive, week-long coverage across all its platforms with its traditional 18-hole broadcast coverage beginning with the third round on Saturday and final-round action on Sunday. Jim Nantz, in his 39th consecutive year covering the Masters, serves as host for the 37th time. 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman joins Nantz as the lead analyst at the Masters for the second time. Nantz and Immelman link up with CBS Sports' incredible golf team, including on-course reporter Dottie Pepper and the legendary Verne Lundquist, who will be calling his final Masters.

Enough talking about it. Here's how you can watch as much Masters as possible on Sunday. Be sure to stick with CBS Sports for live coverage throughout and download the CBS Sports app  to watch Masters Live on your mobile device.
