David Nail’s candor cuts like a laser through star-making propriety, a ritual of predictable answers to predictable questions, recited by artists averse to the controversy that truth can bring.

True, he is respected up and down and beyond Music Row. He’s written or co-written multiple hits. Critics laud his singing too: The late, revered Chuck Dauphin, for one, marveled at Nail’s ability to turn an “ordinary lyric and arrangement” into a “tour de force,” adding, “simply put… he is not one of us.”

So he’s got rock-solid credentials. And he earned them despite a refusal to present himself in a false light. His songs pull no punches in evoking the demons with which he has wrestled through much of his life. As Nail explains, it’s not so much an act of courage to write about depression and its effects. Rather, it is simply who he is; he says, in conversation and through music, what he must say.

In Nail’s own words, “My philosophy has always been, I just hope to have a good enough year that I can have a next year while staying as true to myself as I possibly can.”

Grammy-nominated artist David Nail has announced an extensive Christmas tour across America taking place later in 2024. A Campfire Christmas Tour kicks off November 30th in Knoxville and extends through December making notable stops in Boca Raton, Bloomington, Indianapolis, Fairfield and Syracuse. Joining the tour in support will be special guest Jacob Tolliver.

Nail will continue supporting his fourth EP 'Bootheel 2021' released on November 6th, 2021 via One Five Sound. His previous 2016 studio album 'Fighter' tied a career-best #3 on Billboard's Country chart and features guest appearances by Brothers Osborne , Lori McKenna , Vince Gill and Logan Brill . His blockbuster 2011 single 'Let It Rain' (featuring Sarah Buxton ) received a nomination for Vocal Event of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Back in 2022, the artist launched his Story to Tell Tour with support from Tyler Braden after wrapping up his Bootheel Unplugged Tour .

David Nail Announces I’m a Fire Fall Tour Dates

Now that he's been a successful supporter on someone else's tour, David Nail is ready to hit the road and headline one of his own. He's lighting the I'm a Fire Tour this fall with dates in several cities.

The 'Kiss You Tonight' singer is hitting the road in September and making 22 stops along the way, with more dates expected later. He's even making a few pitstops in his home state of Missouri. Previously, Nail had served as an opener for both Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum .

"It's so much fun to open up for big acts and know that there's going to be five, 10, or even 15,000 people out there when you play, but it's always difficult to only play for 35 minutes," he tells Rolling Stone Country . "I've always felt like we benefit so much more when we can really lay back and play an entire 75 to 90 minute show. We can show the range of the past three records."

One of his tour stops is New York City, which he considers a dream come true. He'll play Irving Plaza in November.

"That's the mecca for me. You move to Nashville to be a country music singer and I'd be lying if I said I thought I'd be playing New York City one day," he says. "I don't think I even realized that country singers went to New York City. I can remember the first time we played there, it was the most nervous I'd ever been. The label is there, you have a lot of press there, and fans. It's like playing a showcase in Nashville except that you're in the greatest city in the world. You try your best to treat it like any other show, but you know damn well it's nothing like every other show."

The 50th Annual Mainsail Art Festival will be held in St. Petersburg’s waterfront Vinoy Park on April 5th and 6th, 2025. Mainsail Art Festival is one of the premier cultural events on St. Petersburg’s outdoor calendar. Each year, more than 100,000 visitors attend the festival to enjoy and purchase quality art and to listen to live musical entertainment. The Mainsail committee of hard-working volunteers produces this annual fine arts festival exhibiting artists competing for $60,000 in prize money.
