Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up wall-to-wall immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites. Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over.

As with last year’s UK and European dates, the 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all of which adds up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange – which is free to use for buyers and sellers. Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers – these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. Queen + Adam Lambert Extend Touring Into 2024 with announcement February Japan Shows

Q+AL Japan 2024

Queen + Adam Lambert Extend Touring Into 2024 with the announcement of February Japan Shows.

Dates Follow Upcoming October – November 2023 North America Tour

Already lined up for a spectacular North America 22-date concert run this fall, Sir Brian May, Roger Taylor and their exceptional front man, Grammy nominated Adam Lambert today announced  further Rhapsody Tour shows for 2024 with the news today of five mega dome concerts in Japan lined up for early February next year.

Promising an even more ambitious and  enhanced production of their universally acclaimed Rhapsody show,  the band will open a series of giant Japan show dates February 4 in Nagoya before going on to perform its reimagined Rhapsody show in Osaka (Feb 7), Sapporo (Feb 10) and concluding with two shows at the Tokyo Dome, (February 13 and 14) performing in all to over 200,000 concert-goers. The Sapporo show is a particularly historic one, marking the band’s first return to the city in over 42 years, last played by Queen on its Hot Space tour, October 29, 1982.

On making the announcement, Roger Taylor speaking alongside Brian May, said: “We are so excited to be returning to Japan, the country that has always held a special and most honoured place in our hearts.”  Taylor continues: “This may be the last time…who knows?  We promise to bring a very real spectacular for you to enjoy!”    Since their first arrival in Japan in April 1975 to scenes of fan mob mania, the bond between Queen and Japan has been richly woven into band history. Despite their absence on the touring circuit, Queen’s music continued to be treasured in Japan throughout the 90s and into the 21st Century, thanks in part to their inclusion in TV commercials and television dramas. Featured in a beer commercial, the band’s “I Was Born To Love You” reached No.1 on the singles chart.  Invited to return in 2014 – now fronted by Adam Lambert – to headline at Japan’s largest rock festival, Summer Sonic, Queen’s status as Japan’s favourite foreign band was reconfirmed.   Japan is now once again a regular feature on the touring schedule, Queen and Adam Lambert having returned as recently as 2020 to perform four massive sold-out shows playing to a combined audience of over 132,000 people across the country, clearly evident that the bond between Queen and Japan continues to remain as strong as ever.  An enthusiastic Adam Lambert says:  “The Japan shows back in 2020 were so much fun, the audience were incredible!  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back. Can’t wait!”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s career-spanning Rhapsody Tour setlist celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up wall-to-wall immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites. Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over.   As with last year’s UK and European dates, the 2024 Japan tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.    Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. Queen + Adam Lambert Unveil North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates: ‘These Are New Glory Days’

Queen Adam Lambert

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said Queen guitarist and founding member Brian May, who was literally knighted by King Charles III earlier this month. “It’s nice to think that hopefully there will be the demand for that.”

But the guitarist, along with founding drummer Roger Taylor and singer Adam Lambert , was on the other side of the Atlantic in Thursday, in New York to announce the group’s 14-show North American leg of its “Rhapsody” tour — its first since 2019 — which runs from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

The tour follows last year’s 36-date summer tour across the U.K. and Europe, which included a 10-date residency at London’s the O2 Arena and opening the Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 70-year reign.

Shows on the overseas “Rhapsody” tour dates featured around 25 songs plus four encore numbers, and included the hits “Killer Queen,” “Fat Bottomed Girls, “Another One Bites the Dust, “We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions” and the song with more than 2 billion Spotify streams that lent its title to a film and this tour, “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Queen promises some deeper cuts on this jaunt. Lambert says, “I’m not sure exactly what we’ll pull out for this one. Look, I would be happy just to show up and do what I was told if that was how it was. But I’ve been really fortunate to work with these two gentlemen who are very collaborative, and we get to all throw ideas in and work things out. I’m really grateful for that it makes me even more invested in it.

“I’ve also been really lucky that in the past we’ve done a couple of my solo songs together. That’s been a real honor,” he continued. The one-time “American Idol” star released “High Drama,” an 11-cut covers album in February, with songs running the gamut from Kings of Leon to Noel Coward, although it’s uncertain whether any of those will make it into the Queen setlist. “We’ve got a ways to go before we start rehearsing,” Lambert said.

Lambert agreed, “I don’t think I would have imagined that it would have been the gift that keeps on giving.”

The current Rhapsody tour features Queen + Adam Lambert’s regular band members, longtime keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren. Founding bassist John Deacon left the band and effectively retired from music following Freddie Mercury’s 1991 death, and chose not to be present at Queen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Despite a 30-year-plus age difference between Lambert, 41, and May, 75 and Taylor, 73, the three have an easy camaraderie that’s evident both onstage and off. Lambert was only three when Queen’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance rocked the world, but it was something he got to recreate at the Fire Fight fundraiser concert in Sydney, Australia in February 2020, a month before Covid shut down the world.

As a fan growing up, Lambert was familiar with Queen’s Live Aid footage. “But when it came time to first join the band on stage, I was like, ‘I have to know my stuff’ so I watched as much as I could. Besides Live Aid, one of my favorite things was Montreal concert where Freddie was running around in a pair of itty bitty white shorts and no shoes,” Lambert says. “I just I remember seeing that and going ‘This guy’s amazing.’ He was so free and ridiculous and just full of joy and I’ve been so inspired by that spirit. I try to approach shows with that same humor…”

“And shorts?” Taylor quipped.

“Not the shorts for me — Freddie had much better legs,” Lambert concluded.

A general on sale date for the Queen + Adam Lambert  U.S. tour is March 31, and in light of exorbitant ticket prices and “dynamic pricing,” the band stated in a release that “In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for the Rhapsody tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.”

This October and November, Queen and Adam Lambert are set to head back out on the road with a new North American tour.

Since that announcement, Sir Brian May , Roger Taylor and the singer have been asked if there are any more plans for shows in 2024.

Earlier this summer, the guitarist teased on The One Show: “We’re going to the States in the Autumn and I think maybe somewhere else in the Spring.”

Queen and Adam Lambert will be performing five mega dome concerts across Japan in February next year. This will be the first time the band have performed there since just before the pandemic in early 2020.

Roger Taylor, speaking alongside Brian May, said: “We are so excited to be returning to Japan, the country that has always held a special and most honoured place in our hearts. This may be the last time…who knows? We promise to bring a very real spectacular for you to enjoy!” The guitarist almost emphasised that this will be an even more ambitious version of the Rhapsody tour show and among the biggest concerts they’ve ever played in Japan.

As noted in the announcement: “Since their first arrival in Japan in April 1975 to scenes of fan mob mania, the bond between Queen and Japan has been richly woven into band history. Despite their absence on the touring circuit, Queen’s music continued to be treasured in Japan throughout the 90s and into the 21st Century, thanks in part to their inclusion in TV commercials and television dramas. Featured in a beer commercial, the band’s I Was Born To Love You reached No. 1 on the singles chart.  Invited to return in 2014 - now fronted by Adam Lambert - to headline at Japan’s largest rock festival, Summer Sonic, Queen’s status as Japan’s favourite foreign band was reconfirmed.

“Japan is now once again a regular feature on the touring schedule, Queen and Adam Lambert having returned as recently as 2020 to perform four massive sold-out shows playing to a combined audience of over 132,000 people across the country, clearly evident that the bond between Queen and Japan continues to remain as strong as ever.”

An enthusiastic Adam Lambert added: “The Japan shows back in 2020 were so much fun, the audiences were incredible!  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back. Can’t wait!” Will the band perform in more countries across 2024? At the moment there are no plans, but Sir Brian did tease in that The One show interview that maybe they’ll be back to the UK and Europe eventually as well.

Queen and Adam Lambert’s 2024 Japan tour dates are as follows:

February 4th (Sun) Nagoya – Vantelin Dome February 7th (Wed) Osaka – Kyocera Dome February 10th (Sat) Sapporo – Sapporo Dome February 13th (Tue) Tokyo – Tokyo Dome February 14th (Wed) Tokyo – Tokyo Dome

Watch Queen + Adam Lambert Perform an Emotional ‘Is This The World We Created…?’ in New York

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

When Queen + Adam Lambert launched the 2023 leg of their Rhapsody tour last week, they dipped deep into the Queen catalog and resurrected the 1984 deep cut “Is This the World We Created…?” for the first time since Lambert stepped into the role as frontman. The song was written in response to African poverty and was famously played at Live Aid in 1985, but it took on a new meaning at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night in the aftermath of the massacre in Israel.

The song was played acoustically by Brian May and Lambert on the B-stage, and it brought the arena to a hushed silence. “Oh-oh, is this the world we created?” Lambert sang. “We made it on our own/Is this the world we devastated, right to the bone?/If there’s a God in the sky, looking down/What can he think of what we’ve done/To the world that He created?” They didn’t mention the ongoing situation in Israel, but it wasn’t necessary. Here’s a fan-shot video of the moment.

The rest of the set was devoted to Queen classics like “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” “Under Pressure,” “I Want to Break Free,” and “Another One Bites The Dust.” For the die-hards in the audience, they broke out “’39” from A Night at the Opera, and the title track to 1984’s A Kind of Magic . The main set wrapped up with “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and they returned for “We Will Rock You,” “Radio Ga Ga” (which also opened the show in truncated form), and the grand finale of “We Are the Champions.”

As always, Lambert took a minute in the middle of the show to acknowledge his incredible fortune and the man who came before him. “Can you guys believe I’ve gotten to tour with these guys for over ten years now?” he said. “Isn’t that crazy? I think this is our third time playing the Garden. I just wanted to say very quickly that every time I take the stage with these extraordinary musicians, I realize how lucky I am, and how honored I am to be singing this music. And just know that very time I take the stage, just like all of you and all of these gentlemen, we all have Freddie Mercury in our hearts. Let’s keep the party going and celebrate Freddie Mercury!”

Adam Lambert Says Freddie Mercury Is in His Heart 'Every Time I Take the Stage' as He and Queen Close Out 2023 Tour

Lambert, alongside original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, played the final two shows of their North American tour over the weekend at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles

Adam Lambert  made sure to keep the legacy of late Queen  frontman, Freddie Mercury , alive as he and original band members Brian May  and  Roger Taylor  closed out their North American tour.

Over the weekend, Lambert, May and Taylor played the final two shows of their 2023 Rhapsody Tour at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The shows marked the end of Queen's 22-show North American Tour — their first tour in four years — which kicked off in October in Baltimore.

While addressing the crowd during Saturday's show, Lambert, 41, spoke about how fortunate he was to tour with the rock legends over the past 10 years. He also made sure to pay tribute to Mercury, who died at age 45 in 1991.

"L.A., what's up?" Lambert greeted the crowd. "It's so good to be home here after an amazing tour with two rock and roll legends. You know that I've been on the road for 10 years with Queen? Isn’t that nuts?"

"Just know that every time I get up here, I know that I’m f---ing lucky," Lambert continued. "I know how much of an honor this is. And be assured that every time I take the stage, I have one person in my heart: Freddie Mercury!"

As the crowd went wild, Lambert continued on. "You love Freddie too, right? That’s what this is, this is a celebration of Freddie and Queen," he said before breaking into Queen's hit, "Don't Stop Me Now."

Later during the show — which featured 150 minutes of hits that spanned Queen's decades-long career, including classics like "We Will Rock You," "Radio Ga Ga" and "Somebody to Love" — May, 76, honored his late bandmate in his own moment onstage.

Singing their acoustic song "Love of My Life," May sat on a stool and performed for the crowd before a clip of Mercury singing the same song appeared on the screen above the stage. At the end of the performance, May reached out to his left — the same direction where the clip of Mercury was positioned on the screen — making it appear as if the two were on stage together.

Though Lambert is assuming the lead singer role that Mercury once had, the American Idol alum and his bandmates have previously made it clear that he's not trying to be the late iconic singer.

"He doesn't try to be Freddie, which is wonderful," May told PEOPLE in March . "He always pays tribute to Freddie, which we love. We all do. Freddie's with us, but Adam interprets, he finds new ways to go and we are very much a team now. We discuss everything, we build, we rebuild and it's fun."

Lambert agreed, calling his partnership with May and Taylor, 74, a "team effort," and acknowledging that Mercury "laid the groundwork" for all that they've accomplished together.

"He's the originator. He can't be replaced, but it gives me so much freedom to just exist in a playful, kind of silly place," he said. "Freddie had a great sense of humor, from what I hear and what I've seen, and he was sort of limitless."

While it's been 10 years since they first started touring together, May said he still finds it unbelievable that he gets to tour with Taylor and perform their Queen hits with the help of Lambert.

"The amazing thing is we didn't look for Adam. I often think, 'My God, how did this happen?' He is kind of a gift from God," he told PEOPLE in March. "Roger and I, after we lost Freddie, said 'OK, this is the end of it.' We knew consciously, 'No, we're not going to this anymore.'"

"He just appeared," May continued of Lambert. "The voice is extraordinary. There is no other voice in the universe like his voice. Plus he has all the other stuff, I mean, look at the guy. He's born to wear diamonds."

With the North American portion of their tour now complete, Queen and Lambert have a few months off before heading to Japan in 2024 for a five-show run, kicking off Feb. 4.

"It's just a privilege to be able to do this at the top level that we are," May told PEOPLE in March. "How wonderful. How could you possibly ask for more? I think we're very happy doing it. I'm probably going to do it 'til I drop."
