Disco legends boney m return to nz for greatest hits tour.

Boney M were a phenomenon in the 70s, and to this day, the their hits - ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘Ma Baker’, ‘Rivers of Babylon’, ‘Rasputin’- are still the life and soul of the party. With 18 Platinum and 15 Gold LPs, more than 200 Gold and Platinum Singles to their name, the disco legends have sold a mind-blowing 150 million records worldwide and continue to play live.

Boney M’s remarkable journey began after German record producer Frank Farian recorded the single 'Baby Do You Wanna Bump?' In 1974 he created Boney M to support the song, bringing in four West Indian vocalists who had been working as session singers in Germany -- Marcia Barrett, Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams and Bobby Farrell. Their first appearance in Germany was a performance of the song ‘Daddy Cool’ in the then important and famous TV-Show Musikladen in 1976, which led to around 100,000 singles per week flying off shelves and the astounding success of their album TAKE THE HEAT OFF ME. In July 1976, ‘Daddy Cool’ became the first Number 1 for Boney M in Germany and in December 1976, it hit the Top 10 in the UK. That same year in Germany, the follow-up was a remake of Bobby Hebb's ‘Sunny’, which hit Number 1 in December 1976, and Number 1 in the UK in March 1977. In May 1977, ‘Ma Baker’ again scored top10 in the UK charts, followed by ‘Belfast’ in October.  By 1978, Boney M was at the height of its popularity with ‘Rivers of Babylon/"Brown Girl in the Ring’, which became the second-biggest selling single in UK chart history. ‘Rivers of Babylon’ also was Boney M's only US Top 40 hit.  The hits continued to roll out throughout the remainder of the 70s - ‘Rasputin’, ‘Painter Man’ and ‘Hooray! Hooray! It’s a Holi-Holiday’both becoming Top 10 hits, while ‘Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord’ was a Christmas chart-topper, becoming the fifth biggest selling single in UK history. They kept dancefloors packed and a generation dancing. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the greatest disco acts ever!

Many people with knowledge of the disco era of the 70s and 80s will know the band name Boney M yet people tend to pretty oblivious to the actual inner workings of the band. Originally began by German record producer Frank Farian, the group went on to have chart success with the original lineup of Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Farrell from Aruba.

Many years later and various lineup changes have passed yet disco remains at the heart of the operation and continues to attract fans old and new to the nostalgic sounds. They have a huge array of recognisable original hits including 'Daddy Cool' 'Ma Baker' and 'Sunny' with their singalong choruses and danceable rhythms absolutely assured to get even the most reluctant attendee moving to the irresistible rhythms. The passionate musicians onstage also perform characterful covers of Jamaican music royalty including Bob Marley and The Wailers. The highlight comes in the form of double A side hit 'Rivers of Babylon/Brown Girl in the Ring' which sounds as fresh as ever and is a perfect summation of Boney M's disco reggae.

Frequently asked questions, does tix sell the actual tickets themselves.

TIX is a marketing channel for live entertainment. We promote events but do not process ticket orders. By clicking the BUY NOW button, you are transferred to the official venue ticketing providers for that event. Any subsequent ticketing enquiries are best directed to the venue ticketing providers.

I haven’t received a confirmation email and I can’t find my tickets?

Most of the time you are required to log into or create an account with the ticketing vendor in order to process an order for tickets. The best way to find confirmation or your tickets is to log back in to that same account you purchased the tickets with and you should see your tickets, instructions on how to obtain your tickets or confirmation of your purchase of tickets.

If you cannot see anything on your account, firstly make sure it was the correct email address and account you originally purchased the tickets with, check your bank statement to ensure the tickets actually processed or contact the ticketing vendor directly as they will have access to the system and can look up your information and locate and re-issue your tickets.

Can’t find the ticketing vendor’s contact information? Contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

I booked the wrong date. What can I do?

It happens! Unfortunately, as we do not have access to the ticketing system we cannot change this for you. Please contact the ticketing vendor who sold you the tickets and they may be able to assist you in changing your tickets. You can find out who sold you the tickets on your email confirmation or on the ticket itself.

Still can’t find who sold you the tickets? Contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

I can’t see the discount price when I select tickets?

Firstly, head to the event page on our website and ensure the tickets you have selected are within the terms & conditions of that offer. Often our offers are valid for a short time, on selected dates or on selected price levels, eg. A Reserve only.

If you have checked the terms and conditions of the offer and have selected the correct tickets but cannot see the offer, please contact us as there may be an error with the link that we need to fix.
