Chase airline transfer partners

Chase hotel transfer partners, which chase sapphire transfer partners are the best, chase points calculator, how to earn chase ultimate rewards® points, chase travel cards with transfer partners, how do you transfer chase points, using chase transfer partners: is it worth it.

Chase Ultimate Rewards® are some of the most valuable transferable points available. Called Chase Ultimate Rewards® points, they can be redeemed for travel through Chase's travel portal for 1 cent each on certain cards. However, they can be redeemed at a higher value of 1.25 cents each if you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or an even more impressive 1.5 cents each if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve® . That type of exchange on its own makes for an excellent way to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards® points .

However, that's not necessarily the best way to redeem Chase points because three specific Chase cards available in 2024 offer what might be potentially far more value.

The cards at play here are the:

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card .

Chase Sapphire Reserve® .

Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card .

» Jump to learn more about these card options .

With those cards, you have the additional option to send those points to one of Chase's transfer partners , which are generally hotel chains and airlines. And assuming you hold (or someone in your household owns), one of those three Chase cards, you'll very likely unlock even greater value out of your spending rewards when you use one of the Chase Ultimate Rewards® transfer partners. That's because converting Chase points to hotel points or airline frequent flyer miles can often maximize their value.

Here's a summary of each Chase transfer partner and how you can get the most from your Chase points.

Of the 14 Chase Ultimate Rewards® transfer partners, 11 are airline mileage programs, which are:

Aer Lingus AerClub

Aer Lingus AerClub became one of the Chase travel partners in 2017. While not officially part of the Oneworld alliance, Aer Lingus partners with several Oneworld airlines — most notably British Airways, Iberia and Qatar .

Air Canada Aeroplan

There are plenty of reasons not to overlook Aeroplan — the newest of the Chase Sapphire airline partners. Air Canada is a Star Alliance member, so you can use Aeroplan points to book award flights on any Star Alliance airline, including United.

Seek out those Aeroplan sweet spots to help boost the value of Aeroplan points to 1.4 cents for award tickets.

Air France-KLM Flying Blue

Flying Blue is the loyalty program of Air France, KLM, Kenya Airways and a few smaller airlines. Because many Flying Blue airlines are members of the SkyTeam alliance , you can transfer points from Chase to Flying Blue to book award flights on other SkyTeam member airlines, such as Delta Air Lines.

The Flying Blue program offers a monthly Promo Rewards promotion that discounts certain routes by up to 50% — which can make Flying Blue sweet spots even a better deal.

British Airways Executive Club

Most travelers might think of flights to London when thinking about British Airways. However, that's not where the value of British Airways Avios lies. In fact, most British Airways Avios sweet spots don't involve flying British Airways.

Instead, use this Chase transfer partner to book inexpensive awards on American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and other Oneworld partners — including flying to the Caribbean .

Emirates Skywards

Dubai-based Emirates Airlines is best known for its glitzy business- and first-class products. And while premium cabins command huge cash prices, paying with miles through the Emirates Skywards loyalty program is possible and considered the best use of miles (as opposed to using miles to book in the Emirates economy class ). A NerdWallet analysis found that you only get about 0.6 cent per mile in value for Emirates economy, but the value of Emirates miles jumps up if you redeem an award in Emirates business class.

Unfortunately, the Emirates Skywards sweet spots are limited — particularly on partner airlines. That said, the Skywards program is one of only a few ways to book Emirates first class with points since the airline restricts award availability through partner airlines.

Iberia Plus

Just like British Airways, Iberia is a member of the Oneworld alliance and uses the Avios program. And after Iberia's recent overhaul to its award chart , award rates to book American Airlines flights match the British Airways Executive Club’s rates on partner airlines. However, other Iberia sweet spots include some incredible gems. Iberia often offers among the cheapest business class awards to Europe .

JetBlue TrueBlue

JetBlue uses a revenue-based TrueBlue points program in which the required number of points for an award roughly equates to the cash price of the flight. That means you can't get outsized value from redeeming TrueBlue points.

However, just because the program doesn't have an upside doesn't mean JetBlue isn't a good Chase transfer partner. TrueBlue points are worth 1.5 cents per point — making it a valuable currency for economy flights among U.S. airlines.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

Singapore Airlines is another Star Alliance Chase travel partner that can provide excellent premium cabin redemptions. Singapore KrisFlyer sweet spots include flights to Europe and Hawaii, and flights within the continental U.S. Luxury travelers also flock to KrisFlyer, as it's typically the only way to book the award-winning Singapore first class product with points.

» Learn more: The guide to Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer frequent flyer program

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards

Like JetBlue, Southwest uses a revenue-based redemption program, where points prices correlate with cash prices. This means you don't have to seek out sweet spots to get good value from your Southwest Rapid Rewards points.

Instead, the value of Southwest Rapid Rewards is a predictable 1.5 cents per point when redeemed for Southwest flights. Steer clear of other Rapid Rewards redemptions for hotels, rental cars or merchandise though, as the redemption value can drop to 0.6 cents per point.

» Learn more: The complete guide to Southwest Rapid Rewards

United MileagePlus

United joins JetBlue and Southwest as the three U.S.-based Chase Sapphire airline partners. MileagePlus miles are worth around 1.2 cents per mile when redeemed for United economy flights .

In addition to redeeming miles on United, you can redeem United MileagePlus miles for award flights on other Star Alliance partners. Just keep in mind that United can charge more miles for partner awards.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

London-based Virgin Atlantic is a member of the SkyTeam alliance and it uses a different redemption chart for each partner, meaning the Flying Club sweet spots are just as diverse as its partners.

Chase has just three hotel loyalty program parters, which are:

IHG One Rewards

The IHG loyalty program is good, but it's generally a weak Chase transfer partner.

NerdWallet values IHG points at 0.8 cent each. But since Chase points transfer to IHG One Rewards at the same 1:1 transfer ratio as all other partners, that makes for a pretty bad transfer that can actually devalue your points. Unless you find a killer IHG redemption, only transfer points from Chase to IHG to top off your account if you're a few points shy of booking a hotel you want with the rest of your IHG points. Otherwise, you’re generally better off booking IHG hotels via Chase's portal.

» Learn more: What you need to know about IHG One Rewards

Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott Bonvoy is one of the largest hotel loyalty programs around. You can redeem Bonvoy points for free nights and room upgrades at over 7,000 properties across more than 30 brands.

However, bigger isn't always better. When NerdWallet analyzed the value of Marriott Bonvoy points , we found that points were worth around 0.8 cent each. That puts Marriott in the same category as IHG, where points often lose their value when you transfer them from Chase to Marriott Bonvoy.

Considering Chase points can be redeemed for 1.25 cents or 1.5 cents each (depending on which Sapphire card you have), make sure that you're getting at least this much value before transferring Chase points to Marriott Bonvoy — which is unlikely. With that, save Bonvoy transfers only for situations where you find an outstanding hotel deal, or if you need just a few more points to book using your existing Bonvoys.

» Learn more: The complete guide to the Marriott Bonvoy program

World Of Hyatt

World of Hyatt is undoubtedly Chase's most valuable hotel transfer partner — and perhaps its most valuable travel partner overall, too. In NerdWallet's analysis, World of Hyatt points are worth 2.3 cents each when used for award stays.

Hyatt is one of a few hotel loyalty programs that still publishes an award chart . That means predictability in planning how many points an award stay may cost. Award nights start at 3,500 points, meaning you can really stretch out your Chase points at Hyatt hotels.

So that's a list of all the transfer partners — but which ones are the best? After all, some Chase travel partners are far better than others.

Before we dig into the best Chase Sapphire transfer partners, here's a complete overview of their estimated value, sorted in alphabetical order:

Using that estimated value stated above, here's the ultimate NerdWallet power ranking of the six best Chase transfer partners (with No. 1 being the best) are:

World of Hyatt.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

JetBlue TrueBlue.

Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards.

Air Canada Aeroplan.

Air France/KLM Flying Blue.

Best airline partner for Chase points

As far as Chase's airline transfer partners go, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is Chase' best airline transfer partner. Even still, you can easily get more than 1 cent per point in value from Chase points when you transfer points from Chase to fixed-value programs like Southwest Rapid Rewards and JetBlue TrueBlue.

Other airline transfer partners can be hit-and-miss, such as Emirates, which is generally a miss when points are transferred to book Emirates economy class . But, it's usually a massive hit if you can transfer Chase points to be used for booking the incredibly-swanky Emirates business class on points.

Best Chase hotel transfer partner

Meanwhile, World of Hyatt comes out on top as the best Chase hotel partner. And not only is it the best hotel partner, but it's the best travel partner period given that eye-popping value over 2 cents.

NerdWallet's estimated value is exactly that — an estimate. You might find individually great redemptions while using other Chase transfer partners for specific trips.

Is it worth transferring Chase points to united?

While you might book hotels and airfares with cash or through Chase’s travel portal , it’s clearly often a better deal to put in the extra effort and transfer your points to one of Chase’s transfer partners — especially those named above. That said, folks seeking to maximize value should always calculate the value of the Chase Ultimate Rewards® points relative to the price to pay for airfare or hotel rooms in cash.

Use NerdWallet’s Chase points calculator below to determine the value of your points, based on both the baseline and NerdWallet estimated values:

With a little bit of research, you can get even more value through other Chase Ultimate Rewards® transfer partners versus using them to book travel directly through Chase's travel portal.

The most common way to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards® points is through spending on a Chase credit card that participates in Chase Ultimate Rewards®. You might earn points through taking advantage of introductory offers — where you can get a windfall of points upon meeting a certain threshold within a window of time upon card approval — and via ongoing spending.

Chase Freedom Flex

Just note that not all Chase credit cards earn transferable Ultimate Rewards® points. That said, Chase cards that do earn transferable Ultimate Rewards® points include:

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

Chase Sapphire Reserve®

Chase Freedom Flex℠

Chase Freedom Unlimited®

Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card

Ink Business Cash® Credit Card

Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card

Chase Freedom Unlimited Credit Card

Some of these cards offer bonus points in certain categories, so someone seeking to maximize their points earning might have multiple cards in their wallet to use depending on the transaction. To maximize points, you might use the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to pay at restaurants (it earns 3 points per $1 spent on dining), the Chase Freedom Flex℠ to pay at drugstores (it earns 3% back at drugstores) and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card to pay the monthly internet bill (it earns 5% back on internet, cable and phone services, up to a combined $25,000 in annual spending).

Even though the latter two cards don't let you transfer your rewards directly to any of the above airline or hotel partners, you can transfer them to another card that you hold (or that someone in your household holds), as long as that card is one of the cards that allows for transfers to partner airline and hotel brands.

The three Chase travel cards with transfer partners are the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card , the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card .

Use this guide to learn how to transfer Chase points between two credit cards you own.

Here's how to to transfer Chase points to family member or spouse .

Once you've got all the points you need in one account, you're ready to then send them to the actual airline or hotel loyalty program you want to convert your Chase points into. Learn how to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® points to travel partners here.

Chase may lag other transferable bank point currencies like American Express, Capital One and Citi when it comes to the raw number of transfer partners. But some say that size matters not (at least in terms of number of transfer partners).

It's more about their value — and some Chase travel partners are particularly valuable. Just look at Hyatt as an example. Using this Chase hotel partner can morph a point that might be worth a measly 1 cent each when exchanged for Chase to something worth more than 2 cents when used for a Hyatt hotel room. That offer becomes even more tantalizing when you consider that NerdWallet ranks World of Hyatt among the most valuable hotel rewards programs out there.

With that, Chase Ultimate Rewards® points rank among the most valuable transferable points available.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are perhaps the most valuable points out there. Thanks to their flexibility and transfer options, we regularly give Chase Ultimate Rewards one of the best valuations in our monthly valuations . There are plenty of great ways to earn Ultimate Rewards points and even more fun ways to redeem them for award flights and hotel stays.

In this post, we’ll show you all of Chase’s transfer partners, how to transfer Ultimate Rewards to these partners, and much more. After reading our guide, you’ll be ready to book an amazing getaway!

The Chase Ultimate Rewards program currently has 11 airline transfer partners — the latest program, Air Canada Aeroplan, was added in August 2021.

Points transfer to all these airlines at a 1:1 ratio, which is one of the reasons Ultimate Rewards points are so valuable.

Aer Lingus AerClub

Major Hub: Dublin (DUB)

Airline Alliance: None, but has airline partners

Aer Lingus is a part of the International Airlines Group (IAG), which also includes British Airways, Iberia, and Qatar Airlines, so you’ve got some flexibility when it comes to how you redeem your Aer Lingus AerClub Avios . That said, its award chart isn’t quite as valuable as many of the other Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners.

However, it does offer a couple of solid sweet spots for those looking to travel to The Emerald Isle. On off-peak dates, you can book a one-way ticket from the U.S. East Coast to Dublin for 13,000 Avios in economy or 50,000 Avios in business class.

Air Canada Aeroplan

Air Canada 787 Signature Class dining

Major Hubs: Calgary (YYC), Montréal (YUL), Toronto (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR)

Airline Alliance: Star Alliance

Air Canada Aeroplan is easily one of the best Chase transfer partners for premium cabin award tickets thanks to its lucrative partner award chart .

For instance, you could fly one-way in business class to South America or most European destinations for 60,000 points. If you prefer to fly to Asia in business class, that would be 85,000 points so long as the distance covered is less than 11,000 miles.

Further, Aeroplan can be exceptional for award bookings because of its low taxes and fees on many partner tickets, and you can add a stopover on any itinerary for just 5,000 more points.

Air France-KLM Flying Blue

Major Hubs: Paris (CDG), Amsterdam (AMS)

Airline Alliance: SkyTeam

Another excellent option for economy and business class tickets between the U.S. and Europe is the Flying Blue program . Redemption rates are already quite reasonable, with solid award availability as well. You can often find one-way economy tickets to Europe for as low as 22,500 miles and one-way business class tickets for 56,500 miles.

While those rates are decent on their own, the Flying Blue program offers Promo Rewards each month that can drop the award ticket price for select routes by 25% to 50%, allowing you to get stellar value out of Flying Blue miles.

British Airways Executive Club

Major Hubs: London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW)

Airline Alliance: Oneworld

British Airways Executive Club gets a lot of flack in the points in miles community due to the large fuel surcharges for both economy and business class tickets between the U.S. and Europe. However, British Airways Avios can be incredibly useful for short-haul tickets that can often be relatively expensive.

For instance, U.S. domestic nonstop flights under 1,150 miles on American Airlines and Alaska Airlines cost just 9,000 Avios in each direction, along with low taxes of just $5.60. This can take you between destinations like New York and Miami, Chicago and Houston, or Seattle and Los Angeles.

Emirates Skywards

Emirates Inaugural World's Shortest A380 First Class Window Suite Cherag Dubash

Major Hub: Dubai (DXB)

While Emirates Skywards offers some of the most sought-after award redemptions for business and first class on its signature A380, and more recently its game-changer first class on the 777 , the airline has also gone through a recent string of devaluations that have made this award more expensive through higher fuel surcharges .

Fortunately, one great sweet spot remains that allows you to fly Emirates’ fifth freedom routes between the U.S. and Athens or Milan, for 85,000 miles in first class one-way, or an incredible 90,000 miles round-trip in business class, with significantly lower taxes and fees.

Iberia Plus

Major Hub: Madrid (MAD)

Another entry into the Avios family is Iberia Plus . Unsurprisingly, its award program has a decent amount of overlap with the others, but its award pricing between the U.S. and Spain presents an incredibly sweet spot for award travelers.

It’s common to see many U.S. carriers charge 30,000 points to fly between the U.S. and Europe in economy class, but Iberia charges just 34,000 Avios to fly between the U.S. and Madrid in business class on off-peak dates — one of the cheapest ways to get across the pond in business class.

JetBlue TrueBlue

Major Hubs: New York (JFK), Boston (BOS)

JetBlue is a low-cost U.S. carrier that is known for its great inflight product both in economy and its Mint business class seats.

However, since its TrueBlue loyalty program ties award redemptions to the cash cost of the ticket, you’ll usually receive just 1.1 cents per point towards Mint redemptions , and 1.3 to 1.4 cents per point on economy tickets.

This can be a better deal than booking through the Chase Travel portal for Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders with a 1.25 cent per point redemption rate, but a poor choice for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders with a 1.5 cent per point redemption rate. That said, you can often get much more value out of your Chase Ultimate Rewards points using other transfer partners.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

Singapore Suites First Class Morning Coffee and Champagne

Major Hub: Singapore (SIN)

While you might overlook Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer as an option for domestic travel, as a Star Alliance partner it offers great award pricing on domestic United flights, including 17,500 miles for flights between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii, and 27,500 miles for flights between the U.S. and Europe.

Singapore miles are also your only option if you want to book a highly sought-after ticket in Singapore Suites class between the U.S. and Singapore or its fifth freedom route between the U.S. and Frankfurt.

Southwest Rapid Rewards

Major Hubs: Atlanta (ATL), Baltimore (BWI), Chicago (MDW), Dallas (DAL), Denver (DEN), Houston (HOU), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), Orlando (MCO), Phoenix (PHX)

Airline Alliance: None

Southwest is the world’s largest low-cost carrier with an award program in Rapid Rewards that’s similar to JetBlue in that it operates on fixed value redemptions, allowing you to usually get between 1.3 to 1.4 cents per point on your redemption that is tied to the cash cost of the ticket.

Since you can often get much more value out of your Chase Ultimate Rewards points than this, we generally advise against transferring to Southwest. However, one sweet spot is for those who have the Southwest Companion Pass , as your redemption value doubles on tickets where your companion flies with you for free.

United MileagePlus

Major Hubs: Chicago (ORD), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO), Washington DC (IAD)

In addition to being one of the most well-known Chase transfer partners for U.S. flyers, United MileagePlus also benefits from being able to book award travel on fellow Star Alliance airlines with low taxes and fees. In terms of booking tickets on its own metal, now that United has moved to dynamic pricing, getting outsized value using its currency isn’t quite as easy as it once was.

However, it does offer the incredibly valuable United Excursionist Perk , which allows you to tack on a free one-way flight on round-trip bookings for no added miles, so long as the flight is within the same region. For example, you could fly from the U.S. to Istanbul, Istanbul to London, and London back to the U.S., and your Istanbul to London leg (a 4-hour flight covering 1,500 miles) costs no added miles.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Major Hub: London Heathrow (LHR), Manchester (MAN)

The second largest carrier based out of the U.K., Virgin Atlantic doesn’t participate in an airline alliance but offers several great partnerships that award travelers can take advantage of.

One of which is booking Delta One business class awards between the U.S. and Europe for just 50,000 miles one-way, which is far less than what Delta would charge using its own miles to book these awards. You can also book ANA first class awards between the U.S. and Japan for as low as 55,000 miles one-way.

Ultimate Rewards can also be transferred to 3 hotel rewards programs. Like Chase’s airline partners, all transfers to hotel partners occur at a 1:1 ratio.

IHG One Rewards

Headquarters: Denham, England

Number of Properties: ~6,000

The IHG One Rewards program recently went through a revamp, but as a dynamically-priced program, it seldom makes sense to transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

For instance, we value IHG One Rewards points at 0.5 cents per point, so any redemptions above that level are generally considered to be a good value. Given that, it wouldn’t make sense to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which are worth a minimum of 1.25 cents per point through the Chase Travel portal, to a program where getting half of that value would be considered a good deal.

Marriott Bonvoy

Headquarters: Bethesda, Maryland

Number of Properties: ~8,500

As with IHG, we seldom advise against transferring your hard-earned Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy where nights at top-tier hotels can cost upwards of 85,000 to 100,000 points per night. Not only is it fairly easy to get more value out of other Chase partners, but you’ll also find that you’d likely be better off booking a Marriott hotel through the Chase Travel portal than transferring to Marriott directly.

World of Hyatt

Park Hyatt Melbourne

Headquarters: Chicago, Illinois

Number of Properties: ~1,200

If you thought Hyatt would be similar to the other 2 hotel programs, think again. The World of Hyatt program is one of the best Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners and a darling in the points of miles community thanks to the value its award chart offers.

While the program recently went through a devaluation with the addition of peak pricing, even the most expensive award nights in the portfolio don’t exceed 45,000 points per night. This means you can book free nights at top-tier Hyatt hotels for roughly half of what programs like Marriott and Hilton often charge for similar hotels.

Hot Tip: Use our transfer partner tool to see how many points you’ll get when you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards to partner airlines and hotels!

Chase Shopping Portal

You can also shop through the Shop through Chase portal to earn extra Ultimate Rewards points when making purchases online. This is an easy way to boost your earnings on purchases you would make anyway.

Once you have some Ultimate Rewards points and are ready to transfer them to a partner to book your next big vacation, here are the simple steps to make the transfer process easy.

Step 1: After logging into the Ultimate Rewards site , select the appropriate card. If you want to transfer points, you will need to select a premium Ultimate Rewards card with an annual fee — these include the Chase Sapphire Reserve card , Chase Sapphire Preferred card , and the Ink Business Preferred ® Credit Card . You can combine Ultimate Rewards points under your chosen card from others that don’t have annual fees.

Step 2:  Select Transfer to Travel Partners under the Earn / Use drop-down menu.

Step 3:  Choose your desired airline and select Transfer Points .

You can also select from Chase’s hotel partners using the same steps.

Step 4:  If you haven’t already added your frequent flyer number or hotel rewards number, you will be prompted to do so.

Step 5:  Once you have linked your airline or hotel account to your Ultimate Rewards account, choose how many points you would like to transfer. Transfers must be done in increments of 1,000.

Step 6: Confirm the number of points you’re transferring and complete to transfer.

Step 7:  Head over to the appropriate airline or hotel program’s website to book your award flight or award stay.

Sometimes, making your flight or hotel booking through the Chase travel portal can make a lot of sense. With the Chase travel portal, the points needed for specific redemption are tied to the cash cost. So, if a flight or hotel stay is relatively inexpensive, to the point where the point cost ends up being less than going through a transfer partner, then the Chase travel portal is a perfect option.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, each Ultimate Rewards point is worth 1.5 cents when booking through the portal. If you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred card or Ink Business Preferred card, each point is worth 1.25 cents when booking with the Chase travel portal.

Similar to the transfer process, you simply select Travel under the Earn / Use Points drop-down menu.

Check out an example of a travel portal booking below:

Chase Travel Portal flight

This round-trip economy class booking with Star Alliance airline United from San Francisco (SFO) to Honolulu (HNL) costs as few as 7,900 Ultimate Rewards points.

Should You Transfer to a Partner or Book Through Chase?

Let’s think about the booking discussed above. If you were to book this same itinerary by transferring the points to Chase partner United Airlines, it would cost 12,500 miles. In this case, booking through the portal would be a much better deal.

Bottom Line: To ensure you get the most out of your points, it’s important to check both the portal and transfer options when searching for flights.

The Chase travel portal allows you to book hotels at the same 1.5 cents per point for cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card or 1.25 cents per point with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card or Ink Business Preferred card.

You can also redeem your points for gift cards to merchants including Airbnb , Lowe’s, Home Depot , and Amazon . Additionally, you can redeem your points for statement credits. Unfortunately, these options are a very poor use of points in terms of value, and we do not recommend them!

Combining Ultimate Rewards from your different Chase accounts is a simple process. In the menu bar, you will see the points you have earned on your selected card. If you hover over the points available, you will see a drop-down menu of your cards and the available points from each.

Select Combine Points to consolidate your points under a single card. If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, keep your Ultimate Rewards points there since they’ll be worth a minimum of 1.5 cents each.

Hot Tip: You can also combine points with 1 other household member . This is a great way to pool points with your significant other for a great redemption.

Using your Ultimate Rewards points for travel is the best way to get the most value out of them. With multiple transfer partners and countless ways to redeem points for travel, it can be overwhelming!

We’ve compiled multiple lists of the best ways to use your Chase Ultimate Rewards for some incredible travel experiences. See below:

Key takeaways

  • Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to 14 popular airline and hotel partners, all at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Transferred points can be worth an average of 0.7 cents each to 2.6 cents each, depending on the Chase transfer partner you choose.
  • Some of the best redemptions for Chase points come from programs like Southwest Rapid Rewards, United MileagePlus and World of Hyatt.

Chase Ultimate Rewards are one of the most valuable credit card currencies in circulation today, and it’s easy to see why. These points can be redeemed for flexible options like gift cards, merchandise or cash back, or they can be used to book travel directly through Chase. Premium Chase travel cards even boost your points value by 25 to 50 percent when you redeem points directly through the Chase Travel portal.

More importantly, Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to a range of popular airline and hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio. These partners include some sought after programs that don’t overlap with options from other flexible programs, particularly Southwest Rapid Rewards, United MileagePlus and World of Hyatt.

If you’re looking to increase the value of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, transferring your points to a Chase travel partner is one way to do this. You might even find that transferring your points is better for you than booking through the Chase Travel portal with a premium card that would otherwise boost your points value.

This guide will explain how much points are typically worth when transferred to Chase airline and hotel partners, some of the best redemption options and everything else you need to know.

How to redeem points with Chase partners

Chase Ultimate Rewards airline and hotel partners include a range of domestic and international travel partners that can be used to book trips all over the world. Chase transfers are all available at a 1:1 ratio as well, which isn’t the case with other flexible programs like American Express Membership Rewards or Capital One Miles .

To use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points with a transfer partner, you’ll have to first decide which transfer partner you want to use and then move your points via the Chase Travel portal. We outline those steps below.

Choose your Chase transfer partner

Before we dive into the details of each Chase transfer partner, here’s an overview of the available airline and hotel loyalty programs and their current average point values:

Transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to partners

To transfer your points to a Chase airline or hotel partner, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Chase credit card account and head to your Chase Ultimate Rewards dashboard.
  • Click on “Transfer to Travel Partners.”
  • Pick the travel partner you’re interested in.
  • Link your desired airline or hotel loyalty program account to your Chase account.
  • Transfer your points and follow the prompts to complete your booking.

Once you transfer Chase points to an airline or hotel loyalty program, you cannot transfer those points back to Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Chase airline transfer partners

Three top travel credit cards from Chase — the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card , Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card — allow you to transfer points at a 1:1 ratio. This means that you can turn Chase Ultimate Rewards points into airline miles or hotel points in increments of 1,000.

Here’s an overview of Chase’s airline partners and some potential strategies you could use to maximize them, based on valuations from Bankrate :

Aer Lingus (Avios)

Transfer ratio : 1:1

Approximate value : 1.8 cents each

Aer Lingus Avios are worth around 1.8 cents each, though how you redeem them will determine how much value you get out of your rewards. This transfer partner typically offers exceptional value for flights within the U.K. as well as flights from the eastern U.S.

For example, you may be able to find an off-peak economy award flight from Boston to Dublin, Ireland, for just 13,000 Avios points, or from Dublin to Los Angeles or Miami for just 16,250 Avios points.

Air France/KLM Flying Blue

Approximate value : 1.5 cents each

Air France/KLM Flying Blue is a popular transfer option for flights from the U.S. to Europe, and that’s especially true for people who don’t mind redeeming miles for an international economy award flight. Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles are typically worth around 1.5 cents each, although redemption values vary.

While Delta is not a transfer partner with Chase, you can redeem miles with Flying Blue to fly back and forth with Delta to various European cities like Paris or Amsterdam. It’s usually not very hard to find a flight with plenty of availability for less than 25,000 miles one way, although your results may vary.

Air Canada Aeroplan

Approximate value : 1.6 cents each

Chase cardholders can transfer Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan in increments of 1,000 at a 1:1 value. Rewards points are redeemable for any seat on any Air Canada flight and for travel with over 50 airline partners. Plus, with Aeroplan Family Sharing, families can combine points together at no additional charge.

Aeroplan’s  Points Predictor Tool helps you plan out your flights based on distance. For instance, with this tool, you can see that an economy flight from Chicago to Toronto would cost between 6,000 and 10,000 points at the time of writing. There are flexible options to pay for all or part of a trip with points, too.

British Airways (Avios)

Approximate value : 0.7 cents each

British Airways uses a distance-based chart that makes it possible to book shorter award flights for fewer points overall. You can also utilize this transfer partner to book flights with oneworld Alliance partners like American Airlines.

British Airways Avios are worth around 0.7 cents each, and this program has plenty of sweet spots. A “ sweet spot ” is known as flight or hotel stay paid for with points that’s offered at a significantly lower price compared to most other programs. For example, a short flight of fewer than 650 miles may set you back as little as 6,000 points in economy when you use British Airways.

Emirates Skywards

Approximate value : 1.2 cents each

While Emirates is popular for its flights within the Middle East, you can also use this airline and its partners to fly from major U.S. cities like Chicago and New York to Europe, Africa, Australia and many other destinations worldwide.

Emirates Skywards Miles are typically worth 1.2 cents each, but how you cash them in will ultimately determine their value. Fortunately, it’s easy to use your miles given the wide selection of destinations. For example, you may be able to fly round-trip from Dubai to London with 45,000 miles with an economy Saver award, while Economy Flex Plus for the same flight may set you back 77,500 Skywards Miles at the time of writing.

You can use the Emirates miles calculator to run your own numbers.

Iberia Airlines (Avios)

Approximate value : 0.9 cents each

Iberia Avios are worth approximately 0.9 cents each, and you can use them to fly with Iberia Plus or with partner airlines like American Airlines and British Airways, among others. You may be able to find sweet spots in the Iberia award chart. At the time of writing, there were off-peak business class flights from Chicago to Madrid for 34,000 Avios and short trips around the U.S. (flights under 6,000 miles) for just 11,000 Avios one way, although your results will vary.

Also note that Iberia Plus has peak and off-peak dates, with off-peak dates offering exceptionally better value for rewards. For example, you’ll stretch your Avios further during most of October or November versus the rest of the year.

JetBlue TrueBlue

Approximate value : 1.3 cents each

JetBlue is another transfer partner that can offer exceptional value, although this airline only flies to select destinations within the U.S., the Caribbean and Central and South America, plus London, England and Vancouver, British Columbia.

There is no specific award chart, but it’s not uncommon to see award flights to destinations in the Caribbean for as little as 15,000 miles one way. While values can vary, JetBlue TrueBlue miles are typically worth 1.3 cents each.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles are worth around 1.6 cents each, although values vary. Flight awards typically start at 15,000 KrisFlyer miles (not including airline taxes and fees).

Some options available at the time of writing include booking an economy award from the West Coast or Europe to Singapore for 84,000 miles one way or from Singapore to the Middle East for 58,000 miles one way.

When thinking of ways to use your miles, try out the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles calculator to find the right flight for your needs. Note that your results may vary.

Southwest Rapid Rewards

Southwest Rapid Rewards is a popular transfer partner for people who want to fly within the U.S. (including Hawaii) or to Central America or the Caribbean. Generally,  Southwest Rapid Rewards points are worth around 1.5 cents each. And during one of Southwest’s big sales, it’s not uncommon to see one-way domestic flights for less than 8,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points.

Southwest lets customers check two bags for free. It also offers one of the best cancellation and rebooking policies of any airline and a fare-based rewards program, which means that lower-priced airfare translates to cheaper award flights.

United Airlines MileagePlus

United miles are worth around 0.9 cents each. You can use them to fly with an array of Star Alliance partners including Lufthansa, ANA, TAP Air Portugal and Turkish Airlines.

While the  United MileagePlus program no longer follows a traditional award chart, you may be able to find one-way domestic flights for as little as 18,000 miles or one-way flights to Europe from the U.S. for as little as 40,000 miles. Your flight results may vary from these results, however.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Approximate value : 2.6 cents each

Virgin Atlantic miles are worth 2.6 cents each, and there are plenty of ways to redeem them for popular routes between the U.S. and Europe or for flights to Asia. For example, Virgin Atlatic offers  one-way flights in business class for just 50,000 miles and for one-way business class flights between the U.S. and Asia for just 60,000 miles at the time of writing.

Standard season award flights usually start at about 20,000 miles (not including airline taxes and fees), and peak-season award flights usually start at roughly 40,000 miles round-trip.

The Virgin Atlatic earning calculator can help you see how many points you might need for the flight you want.

Chase hotel transfer partners

Similar to Chase airline partners, Chase Ultimate Rewards points will vary in value depending on which hotel partner you redeem points with. Each approximate value listed below is based on Bakrate’s points valuations .

IHG One Rewards

IHG One Rewards points are estimated to be worth about 0.7 cents each, so they aren’t one of the highest-value redemption options. However, they are pretty versatile. Points can be used for InterContinental Hotels Group properties, which range from Holiday Inn Express hotels to Hotel Indigo, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and even Kimpton Hotels and Resorts. Free nights start at just 5,000 points, and this program promises no blackout dates. Note that you can redeem points at more than 6,000 hotels and resorts around the world.

While you can cash in  IHG Rewards Club points for free nights at small-town Holiday Inns, you can also use them for all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean or for luxury resorts in the Maldives and Bora Bora. For example, at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, you may be able to find a stay starting at just 59,000 points per night.

Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott Bonvoy includes a wide range of resort brands ranging from Ritz-Carlton properties to Westin Hotels and Resorts. Free nights typically start at just 10,000 points during the off-peak season, although that’s for a lower tier property. For a high-end Marriott hotel or resort,  you’ll likely fork over 85,000 to 100,000 points per night and potentially more.

Marriott Bonvoy points are worth approximately 0.7 cents each, which is similar to IHG One Rewards. But Marriott also offers its PointSavers program, which lets you book award nights for 20 percent off in select destinations at various times throughout the year.

World of Hyatt

Approximate value : 2.3 cents each

World of Hyatt points are typically worth around 2.3 cents each. This hotel brand has a smaller footprint worldwide than others with large loyalty programs, but you can get significant value from your hotel points and from building loyalty with World of Hyatt.

Free nights at Hyatt properties usually start at just 3,500 points for a Category 1 property, but they can cost up to 40,000 points per night or higher for premium properties available through the brand. World of Hyatt is probably most popular for the luxurious resort experiences you can book with very few points, although results can vary. For example, a free night at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome can be booked for just 45,000 World of Hyatt points at the time of writing.

Which Chase transfer partners are best?

The best Chase transfer partners make it easy for users to receive outsized value for their rewards points. Some rewards currencies are also considerably easier to use than others, either because the program doesn’t have blackout dates or there are more available flight options or hotel and resort properties offered through the brand.

The best Chase transfer partners include:

The bottom line

Transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to a Chase airline or hotel partner can be one of the best ways to get the  most value out of your points . Depending on the transfer partner and your travel goals, you could get more than 1 cent in value out of your points, making it a lucrative redemption option.

If you have a premium Chase travel credit card , you also have the option of increasing the value of your points by 25 to 50 percent if you redeem through the Chase Travel portal , so be sure to weigh your options carefully. In some instances, booking through the Chase Travel portal might give you a better deal than if you transferred your points to a partner, and in others, the opposite would be true.

6 reasons why the Chase Sapphire Preferred is the perfect card for the average traveler

A t TPG, we love the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card . It was the first travel rewards credit card for many of us and remains one of the cards we can't live without .

We love that it earns versatile Chase Ultimate Rewards points and has our backs if something goes wrong while we're traveling. It's perfect for the average traveler who takes one or two big trips a year and wants travel benefits but doesn't need the extras that come with a more premium travel card.

While many of us have upgraded to the Chase Sapphire Reserve® as our travel habits have evolved, the Chase Sapphire Preferred continues to be one of the top cards we recommend to beginners and anyone looking for a solid set of travel benefits.

Here's why we consider the Sapphire Preferred the best card for the average traveler.

Low annual fee

The Chase Sapphire Preferred charges a $95 annual fee, which is far more reasonable than what you'll pay for a more premium travel card . While the trade-off is fewer perks, most average travelers won't use perks like lounge access or airline fee credits enough to warrant the higher fees that accompany them.

To fully offset the card's yearly cost, you'll need to earn at least $95 in rewards every year. TPG values Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents each. With the card's bonus categories that allow you to earn 3 points per dollar on dining and 2 points per dollar on travel spending, you'll easily make up the annual fee by spending $200 per month on travel and/or dining.

You may be skeptical of annual fees if you're new to credit card rewards. But when you have a strong card with a manageable fee, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, it's easy to make up the difference so that you aren't actually paying anything out of pocket for the card each year.

Related: Why you'll want to pay the $95 annual fee on the Chase Sapphire Preferred

Valuable sign-up bonus

New cardholders can earn a limited-time 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. While spending $4,000 in just three months may sound like a hard task for some budgets, there are plenty of ways you can meet the minimum spend requirement to unlock the sign-up bonus.

According to TPG valuations, that sign-up bonus is worth a whopping $1,538 in travel rewards. With 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points at your disposal, this card opens up a ton of redemption options.

Related: Best ways to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points

Solid earning

The Chase Sapphire Preferred earns Chase Ultimate Rewards , some of the most versatile points available.

The sign-up bonus gives you a great start toward earning the points necessary for your next vacation, but it isn't the only way to earn points. You'll earn 3 points per dollar on all dining and 2 points per dollar on travel purchases.

And Chase's dining and travel categories are incredibly broad. Many issuers restrict dining purchases to just standard restaurants and maybe fast food, but Chase also includes bars, breweries, university dining halls, vending machines and even some restaurant delivery services such as DoorDash and Seamless.

The travel category is also quite generous , including typical travel purchases like hotels and airfare alongside timeshares, campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, and operators of passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges and highways, and parking lots and garages.

Great redemptions

In addition to flexibility in what earns bonus rewards, the Chase Sapphire Preferred offers flexibility in how you can redeem your points.

TPG values Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents each because Chase has many valuable travel partners that give you access to all three major airline alliances and three different hotel brands (IHG, Marriott and Hyatt). Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to each of its partners at a 1:1 ratio and many of these transfers process almost instantly . Transferring your points to airline partners is instrumental to fly business or first class internationally.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards program also offers real value to average travelers through Chase Travel℠. Most people who only travel once or twice a year will not want to spend hours on end combing through potential redemptions with transfer partners. And while sites like TPG can help make that process easier by walking you through potential redemption options and publishing deal alerts when our team comes across them, most average travelers will be most comfortable booking through a portal that aggregates redemption offers across airlines and hotels.

With the Chase Sapphire Preferred, you can redeem points for 1.25 cents each when booking through the portal for travel. This redemption rate is generally a good deal if you're booking economy awards or standard room rates. Another bonus to booking airfare, especially through the portal, is that airlines consider your redemption cash, meaning your points will also cover any taxes and fees associated with your flight. And you'll earn any frequent flyer miles that you would on a standard paid flight.

While you most likely won't earn elite night credits when booking hotels through the portal, average travelers generally aren't staying with the same hotel chain often enough to hit valuable elite status tiers. This means you're not really losing out on anything by choosing to book through the portal with points rather than directly through the hotel if you happen to find a better deal through Chase.

Related: Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards for maximum value

Helpful travel benefits

The Chase Sapphire Preferred may not come with lounge access or hundreds of dollars in travel credits, but that doesn't mean it lacks valuable benefits.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has some of the best travel protections of any mid-tier credit card on the market. You'll get $500 per ticket in trip delay insurance , $10,000 in trip cancellation insurance , baggage delay insurance and up to $3,000 per person in lost luggage reimbursement. The card also comes with primary rental car insurance — a rarity for any card — let alone a mid-tier card.

Sapphire Preferred cardholders also get at least one complimentary year of DashPass after enrolling, normally $96 annually, which waives delivery fees at eligible restaurants and discounts service fees on orders over $12. This benefit alone knocks out the cost of the annual fee. Must enroll by Dec. 31.

Finally, the card offers Visa Signature benefits (including access to the Visa Signature Concierge Service ) and no foreign transaction fees .

Related: Chase Sapphire Preferred benefits you might not know about

A great sibling

Most average travelers probably don't have 19 credit cards in their wallet, which means the cards you have need to make an impact. The Chase Sapphire Preferred is easily paired with Chase cash back cards to help you maximize your earning potential across spending categories — without adding hundreds of dollars in annual fees to your plate.

The Chase Freedom Flex℠ and Chase Freedom Unlimited® cash-back cards technically earn points but don't allow you to transfer your points or receive 1.25 cents per point via Chase Travel. However, you can move the points you earn from either of these cards to the Chase Sapphire Preferred to take advantage of transfer partners or the increased portal redemption rate.

The Chase Freedom Flex has rotating quarterly bonus categories that earn 5% cash back (5 points per dollar) on the first eligible $1,500 you spend each quarter you activate, while the Chase Freedom Unlimited earns 1.5% cash back (1.5 points per dollar) on all purchases. Both cards also earn 5 points per dollar on travel booked through Chase Travel and 3 points per dollar on dining at restaurants and drugstores. Neither card has an annual fee.

While earning 2 points per dollar on travel and 3 points per dollar on dining purchases with the Sapphire Preferred is great, it's even better when you can pair it with a card that earns bonus rewards on other spending categories.

Related: Chase Freedom Flex vs. Chase Freedom Unlimited

Bottom line

The points and miles world isn't just for those who travel for work or spend all of their free time on the road. With the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the average traveler can earn valuable points that can turn into flights and/or hotel stays for a much-deserved vacation. Having the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a great first step to exploring the world through award travel.

  • Other benefits include a $50 hotel credit through Ultimate Rewards and DoorDash DashPass subscription for a year.

The AP Buyline roundup:

The card_name is one of the most accessible and flexible travel rewards cards out there. For a annual_fees annual fee, you can earn rewards that you can redeem through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal or by transferring points to various airline and hotel partners. Other benefits include no foreign transaction fees, a $50 hotel credit you can use through Chase Ultimate Rewards and complimentary subscriptions to Instacart+ and DoorDash DashPass.

As for earnings, you can get 5 points per dollar on travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards, on Lyft rides through Nov. 14, 2024, and on Peloton equipment and accessory purchases through Mar. 31, 2024; 3 points per dollar on dining, online grocery purchases and qualifying streaming services; 2 points per dollar on travel purchases and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. However, you won’t get other perks other travel rewards card offers such as airport lounge access or other types of traveler credits.

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

Why we like it, who is chase sapphire preferred for.

The card_name is great for occasional to frequent travelers who are looking to dive into the world of rewards credit cards. This card offers plenty of value: Cardholders can for the most part justify the cost if they're able to take advantage of perks that offset the annual fee. Travelers who prefer certain airline or hotel brands will find that the flexible redemption options and the ability to transfer points to travel partners are mostly beneficial. However, if your credit score isn’t considered good, or you’re looking for more luxury travel perks, this card may not be the best fit.

Chase Sapphire Preferred features

Rewards earnings.

This card offers several high rewards earning categories, best for those who make frequent travel purchases:

  • 5 points per dollar on travel purchases through Chase Ultimate Rewards, Lyft rides through Nov. 14, 2024, and Peloton equipment and accessory purchases through March 31, 2024.
  • 3 points per dollar on online grocery purchases (except wholesale clubs, Target, and Walmart), dining and participating streaming services.
  • 2 points per dollar on travel purchases.
  • 1 point per dollar on all other purchases.

What’s more, you’ll earn 10% bonus points on your cardholder anniversary that’s based on the total amount you spend on the card within the year. In other words, you’ll earn one dollar for every 10 dollars you spend. For example, if you spend $20,000 on your card_name , you’ll earn 2,000 in bonus points on your cardholder anniversary.

Welcome bonus

Travel credit.

Cardholders receive a $50 credit annually towards a hotel purchase through Chase Ultimate Rewards. You will need to pay for the reservation in cash and not points to be eligible for this credit.

The fine print

Chase has several airline and hotel rewards partners where you can transfer your Chase points to, in most cases at a 1:1 ratio. Doing so can be more beneficial as it can maximize the amount of rewards you can receive with your points.

Chase’s airline partners include :

  • Aer Lingus AerClub.
  • Air Canada Aeroplan.
  • British Airways Executive Club.
  • Emirates Skywards®.
  • Flying Blue (Air France - KLM).
  • Iberia Plus.
  • JetBlue TrueBlue.
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards.
  • United MileagePlus.
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

Their hotel partners include :

  • IHG One Rewards.
  • Marriott Bonvoy.
  • World of Hyatt.

Additional hidden perks

International travelers can save a few bucks because the card_name doesn't charge a foreign transaction fee, something you pay for the privilege of using your card overseas. There are also other travel protections such as primary car rental insurance, baggage delay, trip delay and trip cancellation and interruption insurance. Cardholders can also receive referrals for different medical, travel, emergency and legal assistance from the Chase Benefit Administrator, but be aware that you will pay the full cost for services you obtain from the Benefit Administrator.

Where the Chase Sapphire Preferred doesn’t measure up

While a great beginner’s travel rewards card, Chase Sapphire is a great fit for those who don’t travel enough to offset the annual fee. It may also not be an attractive card for those who are very frequent travelers and are looking for more luxury benefits such as airport lounge access or additional travel credits.

A complete guide to Chase Sapphire Lounges

Glen Luke Flanagan

Fortune Recommends™ has partnered with CardRatings for our coverage of credit card products. Fortune Recommends™ and CardRatings may receive a commission from card issuers.

Just like Capital One and American Express, Chase has launched its own branded airport lounges to reward customers who have an eligible Chase credit card with a relaxing and unique experience before their flights. With four locations worldwide, the footprint is small but growing—and if you can check out one of these luxurious lounges, you won’t be disappointed.

Expect made-to-order food, craft cocktails, game rooms and even the potential to have caviar service. There are a few hoops to jump through first, so let’s examine what exactly you can expect with these new lounges (and if you should get a Chase Sapphire Reserve® for access).

How do I get into the Chase Sapphire Lounges?

Though they’re called Chase Sapphire lounges, you don’t necessarily have to be a cardholder of one of the Chase Sapphire credit cards to get in—but it certainly helps, particularly if you seek unlimited access and not just one visit per year. Note that it’s the Chase Sapphire Reserve with its $550 yearly price tag that gets you in, not the $95-annual-fee Chase Sapphire Preferred ® Card .

The first step to gain entry is to activate the Priority Pass membership that comes as a benefit with your Chase Sapphire Reserve card. These lounges are a partnership between Chase and The Club and not totally owned and operated by Chase bank.

If you hold the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you and two guests will receive unlimited access, free of charge, to any of the Chase Sapphire lounges worldwide. You’ll also get in if you hold the J.P. Morgan Reserve ® Card or the The Ritz-Carlton ™  Credit Card, but again you’ll need to activate the Priority Pass membership that comes for free with those cards.

Also, know that the Ritz-Carlton credit card isn’t currently open to new applications, meaning you can only hold it if you had an account before it was retired, or you were allowed to product change to it from a different Chase card. Meanwhile, the J.P. Morgan Reserve card is invite-only, so it won’t be available to most consumers either.

Since the price is so high, it might not make sense to visit frequently but instead enjoy your one free visit each year.

Where are the Chase Sapphire Lounges located?

While more lounges are slated to open soon, the only airport lounge locations currently open to visitors are in Hong Kong, Boston, and New York’s LaGuardia and JFK. As of this writing, Chase lists lounges slated for opening in Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Phoenix and San Diego.

The Hong Kong location is located in Terminal 1 and is open from 6 a.m. to midnight every day. It is located in the West hall, but if you’re in the East hall you’re not out of luck. It’s only about a 10-15 minute walk to be able to enjoy all the benefits.

If you’re traveling out of terminal B in LaGuardia, head up to the fourth floor just after security, and you’ll find the lounge just before the eastern concourse pedestrian bridge. Its hours are 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

Boston’s lounge takes up a huge space near gate B40 and is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and the lounge in JFK is a unique joint partnership with Etihad Airways. You might not see it at first glance, but you can find it in Terminal 4 just past security. The JFK lounge is also open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Note, however, that non-Chase customers are restricted to the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What are some of the amenities inside the Chase Sapphire Lounges?

Chase has pulled out all the stops with these new lounges as every attention to detail appears taken care of. You can expect local chefs creating fresh menus that change seasonally. The cocktail lists are curated by local bars to bring you a unique selection, above and beyond your normal mixer and well drinks.

For example, in the LaGuardia lounge, local NYC chef Joseph Leonard helped to design the menu and local coffee shop Joe Coffee operates the barista stand to whip up made to order coffee all day long. As an extra perk, you can relax with meditations from Devi Brown, private rest pods, and facial treatments from Face Haus, all included in your admission to the lounge.

Boston takes a local spin as well with a taproom featuring local beers, Boston-area roaster Atomic Coffee preparing gourmet coffee treats, and award-winning Chef Douglass Williams creating a seasonal menu reflecting the best that New England has to offer.

Generally speaking, you’re going to find ample areas to relax and stretch out, free Wi-Fi, and in some locations even private bathrooms with showers so you can freshen up before your flight.

What are the Reserve Suites by Chase?

If you’re looking for a more exclusive experience inside the airport, the LaGuardia Chase lounge offers you the Reserve Suites—for a fee.

There are only three suites at the lounge, but if you’re looking for the ultra-luxe experience where your comfort is a priority, it doesn’t get more posh than this.

You can book the suites in the Chase Mobile app under “Benefits and Travel” for a fee up to 72 hours before your departure and the cost will cover you and all of your guests. A suite includes:

  • Champagne and caviar.
  • Exclusive menus not found in the normal lounge.
  • An exclusive wine list.
  • In-suite entertainment with TVs and speakers.
  • Private bathrooms with spa showers.

While the Chase website doesn’t currently seem to list the price, reports say these suites go for anywhere between $2,200 and $3,000 each for three hours and up to eight guests.

Are the Chase Sapphire Lounges worth it?

For travelers who value being able to relax and enjoy their trip, absolutely. Unlimited entry is available only to those who have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, JP Morgan Reserve, or Ritz Carlton Card. Considering the cost of food and drink in most major airports, being able to come to these lounges before your flight, or even on a layover, is a huge perk.

Since even authorized users of the cards gain entry, chances are you’ve more than made up for the cost of the card with just a couple of visits for you and your family.

Even if you don’t have one of the cards mentioned above, remember to take advantage of your one visit per year if you have a Priority Pass membership provided by a different travel card . While only allowed in once per year, you can have multiple Priority Pass memberships.

See why one of our writers keeps the Capital One Venture X in his wallet in large part due to the Priority Pass benefit .

The takeaway

While still growing and expanding, the Chase Sapphire lounges are an excellent respite from the hustle and bustle of major airports. Finding a quiet place to relax before your flight is one of the keys to a great airport experience. Food from top quality local chefs and local touches make these lounges a must stop on your next time passing through any of the participating airports.

Lounge access doesn’t have to break the bank. See our list of best credit cards for cheap airport lounge access .

Rewards Categories: Merchants who accept Visa/Mastercard credit cards are assigned a merchant code, which is determined by the merchant or its processor in accordance with Visa/Mastercard procedures based on the kinds of products and services they primarily sell. We group similar merchant codes into categories for purposes of making rewards offers to you. Please note: We make every effort to include all relevant merchant codes in our rewards categories. However, even though a merchant or some of the items that it sells may appear to fit within a rewards category, the merchant may not have a merchant code in that category. When this occurs, purchases with that merchant won't qualify for rewards offers on purchases in that category. Purchases submitted by you, an authorized user, or the merchant through third-party payment accounts, mobile or wireless card readers, online or mobile digital wallets, or similar technology will not qualify in a rewards category if the technology is not set up to process the purchase in that rewards category. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs Opens in a new window .

Your Chase Sapphire Reserve account must be open and not in default, and your Chase Sapphire Reserve card must be included as a payment method within the Lyft App to maintain complimentary two-year membership benefits and purchase the discounted membership in your third year.

Complimentary DashPass: You and your authorized user(s) will receive at least 12 months of complimentary DashPass for use on both the DoorDash and Caviar applications during the same membership period based on the first activation date, when the membership is activated with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card by 12/31/2024. Membership period for all users on this Chase Sapphire account will begin and end based on when the first user activates the membership on DoorDash or Caviar. The same login credentials must be used on DoorDash and Caviar in order for the DashPass benefit to be used on both applications. To receive the membership benefits, the primary cardmember and authorized user(s) must first add their Chase Sapphire card as a default payment method on DoorDash or Caviar, and then click the activation button. Once enrolled in DashPass, you must use your Chase Sapphire card for payment at checkout for DashPass-eligible orders to receive DashPass benefits. Benefits of DashPass include no delivery fee on orders above the minimum subtotal (as stated in the DoorDash and Caviar apps and sites) from DashPass eligible merchants (amounts subject to change). However, other fees (including service fee), taxes, and gratuity on orders may still apply. Current value of the DashPass membership is as of 04/01/2022. DashPass orders are subject to delivery driver and geographic availability. Membership must be activated with a United States address. Payment through third-party payment accounts, or online or mobile digital wallets (like Apple Pay and Google Pay), or memberships purchased through third parties are excluded from this offer. Mobile applications, websites and other information provided by DoorDash or Caviar are not within Chase's control and may or may not be available in Spanish. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or the failure to provide, DoorDash or Caviar benefits and services. If you product change to another Chase credit card eligible for a DashPass membership during the promotional period, your DashPass benefits may change. You may experience a delay in updating your applicable DashPass benefits on DoorDash or Caviar; please note, once you product trade, the benefits from your previous credit card are no longer available for your use. You can only access the benefits available with your current credit card. Your Chase Sapphire account must be open and not in default to maintain membership benefits. See full DoorDash terms and conditions at: https://help.doordash.com/consumers/s/article/offer-terms-conditions?language=en_US .

Earn $5 monthly DoorDash/Caviar Credits through 12/31/2024: Get $5 in DoorDash/Caviar credits each calendar month while enrolled in DashPass through 12/31/2024. When applied to an order, the $5 credit will apply only to the subtotal of your DoorDash or Caviar order at checkout. The credit does not apply to fees, taxes, or tip and gift card purchases are excluded. You or up to 7 authorized users must be enrolled in DashPass and use your Chase Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve card for payment at checkout to receive the credit. Once you spend the issued credits on one platform (e.g., DoorDash), it will be automatically deducted from your balance on the other (e.g., Caviar). Any monthly credit issued before you create an account on the other platform will only be available on the original platform for that month. Once you have accounts opened on both platforms, any credits issued will be available for onetime use on either DoorDash or Caviar. Your credit balance may be different on each platform, but your credit usage will still be linked from that point on. If a credit is not used within the calendar month, it will be carried over for a maximum of 2 months. Up to $15 in credit can be accrued before a $5 credit expires. DoorDash credits have no cash value and are non-transferable. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or the failure to provide, DoorDash benefits and services. Credit card product changes during the promotional period will forfeit this offer. Additional DoorDash promotional terms and conditions available at: https://help.doordash.com/consumers/s/article/offer-terms-conditions?language=en_US . All deliveries subject to availability. Must have or create a valid DoorDash account. Qualifying orders containing alcohol will be charged a $0.01 Delivery Fee. No cash value. Non-transferable. See full terms and conditions at: help.doordash.com/consumers/s/article/offer-terms-conditions .

Complimentary Instacart+ Membership: You will receive one complimentary Instacart+ membership per eligible card account for 12 months (for Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers) when the membership is activated on http://www.instacart.com/chase with an eligible card between 6/15/2022 and 7/31/2024. ("You" and "your" mean you as the primary cardmember or any authorized user, depending on which user activates first). This offer is non-transferrable. Membership must be activated with a United States address. Payment through third-party payment accounts, or online or mobile digital wallets (like Apple Pay and Google Pay), or memberships purchased through third parties are excluded from this offer. Benefits of Instacart's membership include no delivery fee on orders that total over $35 (amount subject to change – see Instacart.com for current minimum); however, other fees, taxes, and/or tips may apply. Delivery subject to availability. If you do not currently have a paid or trial Instacart+ membership, by activating your Instacart+ membership, you agree to the Instacart+ Terms and you agree that after the complimentary Instacart+ membership period ends, you will be automatically enrolled in an annual Instacart+ membership and billed at $99/year or the then current annual Instacart+ membership rate for each membership activated, unless you have not placed any orders or you cancel during your complimentary Instacart+ membership period. If you currently have a paid or trial Instacart+ membership, you agree that your existing membership will be paused for the duration of this benefit and resume upon expiration. Your existing membership will automatically renew based on the Instacart+ Terms previously agreed upon unless you cancel. Your membership fees will be billed to any active payment method on file until you cancel. You can cancel your Instacart+ membership prior to the end of your complimentary Instacart+ membership period or at any time thereafter by selecting "Cancel Membership" in your Account Settings. Cancellation goes into effect during the next billing cycle. You may cancel within the first 15 calendar days of your paid Instacart+ membership and receive a refund of the Instacart+ membership fee you paid, but only if you have not placed any orders using your Instacart+ membership. If you change to another Chase credit card during the promotional period, your benefits may change. Mobile applications, websites and other information provided by Instacart are not within Chase's control and may or may not be available in Spanish. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or the failure to provide, Instacart benefits and services. Your complimentary membership benefits may be removed if your eligible credit card account is closed or in default.

Statement Credit on Instacart Purchases: Earn up to $15 per calendar month (for Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers) in statement credits on qualifying Instacart purchases from 8/1/2022 through 7/31/2024 when you activate a complimentary Chase Instacart+ membership on Instacart.com/chase with your eligible Chase credit card. You can check the status of your enrollment in the Chase benefit within the Instacart+ section of the Instacart mobile app. You will continue to receive statement credit benefits regardless of whether you choose to renew your Instacart+ membership at the end of your complimentary period. Qualifying Instacart purchases include only those orders purchased by you, or an authorized user, with a Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card through Instacart.com or the Instacart mobile application (gift cards excluded). Statement credit(s) will post to your account within 48 hours of your qualifying Instacart purchase posting to your account and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles. Statement credits will be issued for the calendar month in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if you pay for an Instacart order, but Instacart does not post the transaction until after the current calendar month ends, the cost of the Instacart purchase will be allocated towards the next calendar month's maximum, or will not qualify if the promotional period has ended. If you change to another Chase credit card during the promotional period, your benefits may change. Mobile applications, websites and other information provided by Instacart are not within Chase's control and may or may not be available in Spanish. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or the failure to provide, Instacart benefits and services. Accounts must be open and not in default at the time the statement credit posts to your account.

To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. This bonus offer is non-transferable.

Book Through Chase Travel: When you use points to redeem for cash, each point is worth $.01 (one cent), which means that 100 points equals $1 in redemption value. Each point you redeem for travel booked through Chase Travel is worth $.0150 (one and a half cents), which means that 100 points equals $1.50 in redemption value, and points are worth 50% more than if redeemed for cash. For example, 75,000 points are worth $1,125 when redeemed for travel purchases, or $750 when redeemed for cash. The cost of travel is based on the rates and fares available through Chase Travel, including the online portal and call center, and may not reflect all rates and fares that are available through other sales channels. If you choose to use points and your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card to pay for your purchase, each point will be worth $.0150, but your credit card will be charged the full remaining dollar amount.

How much are Chase Ultimate Rewards points worth?

Ben Smithson

  • TPG values Chase Ultimate Rewards at 2.05 cents each.
  • The value you can obtain from your Ultimate Rewards points will depend on how you use them.
  • You will usually get the highest value by transferring your points to airline programs and the World of Hyatt hotel loyalty program.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are among the most useful and valuable currencies you can collect.

You can choose from a wide range of redemption options, including some of the best airline and hotel transfer partners , the easy-to-use Chase Travel℠ portal, cash back and payment for everyday expenses.

With two of the most popular Ultimate Rewards-earning credit cards offering elevated welcome bonuses of 75,000 points each, there has never been a better time to consider a Chase credit card .

If you're looking to get the most value out of your Chase points, keep reading to discover how much each redemption option is worth.

What are Chase Ultimate Rewards points?

chase sapphire best travel partners

Ultimate Rewards points are the currency of most Chase-branded credit cards . You can earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points for everyday spending and redeem them for various rewards.

Here are some of the best options for earning Chase points:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card : Earn 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve® : Earn 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
  • Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card : Earn 100,000 bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

Note that these three cards are the only ones that allow transfers to partner programs. However, if you pair one of them with a cash-back Chase card — like the Chase Freedom Unlimited® or the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card — you can combine your points into a single account, thus converting your cash-back rewards into fully transferable Ultimate Rewards points.

If you're just getting started in the world of rewards credit cards , it's typically best to start with Chase products thanks to the issuer's well-documented 5/24 rule . In short, you generally can't get approved for any Chase cards — including those that earn Ultimate Rewards points — if you've applied for five or more new credit cards across all banks in the past 24 months.

Remember this restriction as you build a strategy to maximize your credit card rewards.

TPG values Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents each, which you should ideally aim for when redeeming them. However, the exact value will depend on your choice of redemption.

When redeeming Ultimate Rewards points, you have three basic options:

The main reason we value Chase points at 2.05 cents apiece is the slate of transfer partners. Each individual loyalty program has a number of sweet spots, and you have incredible flexibility by holding on to your Chase points until you're ready to book a specific award.

Let's take a closer look at each of these redemption options.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points value when transferring to travel partners

chase sapphire best travel partners

Transferring Ultimate Rewards to travel partners is often the most valuable way to redeem them.

You can transfer Ultimate Rewards points to 11 airline programs:

  • Aer Lingus AerClub
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • Air France-KLM Flying Blue
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Iberia Plus
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
  • United Airlines MileagePlus
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Chase also partners with three hotel loyalty programs:

  • IHG One Rewards
  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • World of Hyatt

All transfer ratios are 1:1 (though there are occasional transfer bonuses ), and you must transfer points in 1,000-point increments. As noted previously, you can only transfer points from Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve and Ink Business Preferred accounts, though you can move your cash-back rewards into those accounts using the "Combine points" functionality in the portal.

The best hotel transfer partner

A particular standout transfer partner is World of Hyatt. Hyatt points are among the most valuable hotel points given the program's low award redemption rates and excellent range of budget and luxury properties.

You can easily obtain at least 2 cents per Hyatt point/Chase point by redeeming in a pricey hotel market like London .

The best airline transfer partners

If you prefer flights over hotels, we have found numerous sweet spots for both short- and long-haul flights in economy and premium cabins, whether you fancy flying within North America or as far as Europe or Asia.

Our favorite Ultimate Rewards sweet spots include the following:

  • Iberia flights to Madrid : Round-trip flights from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) on off-peak dates will only set you back 34,000 Avios in economy, 51,000 Avios in premium economy and 68,000 Avios in business class when you transfer your Chase points to Iberia Plus or British Airways Executive Club.
  • Flights to Hawaii with Alaska Airlines and American Airlines : By transferring your Ultimate Rewards points to British Airways, you can book awards with Oneworld partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. As long as your nonstop flight distance is under 3,000 miles each way (and there's partner award availability ), you can leverage British Airways' distance-based award chart to fly from any West Coast gateway to Hawaii for only 26,000 Avios round-trip.
  • All Nippon Airways flights booked through Virgin Atlantic : For just 145,000 points, you can fly round trip in first class between the West Coast and Tokyo (again, as long as there's award availability ). Flights from the East Coast only cost an extra 25,000 points (170,000 points round-trip). Business-class redemptions are an even better deal, costing just 90,000 to 95,000 points round-trip, depending on your U.S. departure airport.
  • Short-haul flights to Canada : Flights from JFK to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) on United can be booked for under 6,000 miles one-way on many dates when you transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to the Air Canada Aeroplan program.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points value via the Chase portal

You can also book travel through Chase Travel and redeem points for your plane tickets, hotel stays, rental cars or experiences at a fixed cash value per point.

As a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred cardholder, each point is worth 1.25 cents. If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve , your points are worth 1.5 cents each toward travel redemptions in the portal. If you have a Chase Freedom Flex℠ , an Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card , an Ink Business Cash Credit Card or a Chase Freedom Unlimited , points are worth 1 cent each.

This is another example of when it makes sense to combine your points in the card account that offers the most value for bookings.

For example, all the points you earn with the Freedom Flex can be moved to your Sapphire Reserve account, thus increasing their value from 1 cent to 1.5 cents each when used for travel.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points value for non-travel redemptions

chase sapphire best travel partners

You can also redeem Chase points for a statement credit or bank deposit at a flat rate of 1 cent each. This rate also applies to gift cards and Apple products (outside of a limited-time special).

However, with Chase Pay Yourself Back , you can redeem points for cash back at a rate of 1.25 to 1.5 cents each, depending on your card. This redemption rate is valid on statement credits toward rotating purchase categories, such as select charities.

Finally, you can link your eligible Chase cards to your Amazon account and pay for purchases with the Shop With Points program. However, you will only receive around 0.8 cents per point, which is lower than virtually all other redemption options.

How do I earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points?

There are many ways to earn Chase points at rates of 1 to 10 points per dollar spent, depending on the specific Chase credit card you carry.

Remember that only the first three cards below earn fully transferable Ultimate Rewards points, while the remaining four are technically billed as cash-back credit cards . However, you can combine your Chase cash-back rewards in a single account to maximize your earning and redeeming potential.

Here are the seven cards that allow you to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

How to use the chase sapphire preferred hotel credit, the chase sapphire preferred's hotel credit goes a long way toward paying off the card's annual fee..

thumbnail

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card currently has an elevated intro offer of 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on the card in the first three months from account opening. This card has a $95 annual fee , but, you can earn back over half of that cost every year by taking advantage of a single easy-to-overlook perk — the annual hotel credit.

Sapphire Preferred card members can receive a $50 annual Chase Travel Hotel credit every account anniversary year for hotels booked through the Chase Travel SM  portal . Here's what you need to know about how to use this credit and when it makes sense.

The Sapphire Preferred's intro bonus offer is currently 15,000 points higher than the standard offer. This makes it a great time to apply because you're getting the same ongoing card benefits along with the additional upfront value.

This card earns Chase Ultimate Rewards® points, which are some of the best travel rewards thanks to their versatility. You can redeem Chase points for cash back or similar redemptions for one cent each. And if you use your Chase points to book travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards, you'll get a 25% boost in value as a Sapphire Preferred cardholder (1.25 cents per point).

You can really ratchet up your points' value by taking advantage of Chase's transfer partners . Chase points transfer to 14 airline and hotel loyalty programs at a 1:1 ratio. Through these programs, you can book business-class award flights or luxury hotels and dramatically increase the value of your rewards. This includes plenty of one-way Star Alliance business-class flights from North America to Europe for only 60,000 to 70,000 Aeroplan miles, flights that normally costs thousands of dollars.

The Sapphire Preferred also comes with a long list of travel and purchase insurance benefits. You'll get trip delay reimbursement, primary rental car collision coverage , purchase protection, extended warranty coverage and more.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred annual hotel credit can earn you an automatic statement credit of up to $50 every card anniversary year. To qualify for the credit, you need to book a hotel through Chase Travel SM and pay for the booking with your Sapphire Preferred card.

The $50 in hotel purchases that earn you the credit will not earn Chase points. Once a qualifying transaction is posted to your account, the statement credit should get credited within one or two billing cycles.

To use the Sapphire Preferred annual hotel credit, you book a hotel stay through Chase Travel SM . This platform works like booking through another online travel agency like Expedia , Priceline or Kayak . Simply search for the dates and the location where you need a hotel and book from the available options.

To use the hotel credit, first log in to your Chase credit card account and navigate to the Ultimate Rewards page. Next, select the "Travel" drop-down menu and click "Book travel."

Choose "Hotels" and enter the information for your trip. Once you start a search, you can filter the results by star rating, brand, cost and more.

After you've selected the hotel and specific room type, you'll be able to see the final cost in dollars and points.

To earn the full $50, you need to charge at least $50 on your card. If you want to pay with points, just be sure to redeem points for all but $50 of the cost. You can easily adjust how many points you're using for the booking in the "Points redeemed" box, just be sure to click the update button when you change the number of points you want to use.

From here follow the steps to enter the traveler information and payment card info before you finalize the reservation. Be sure to pay with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card. If you don't book with your Sapphire Preferred, you won't earn the credit.

The Sapphire Preferred hotel credit is straightforward — just book a hotel through Chase Travel SM to qualify for the offer. However, you should compare prices for the same dates, hotel and room type to ensure you're getting the best price when booking with Chase. As long as you aren't paying more for the booking, taking advantage of this credit makes sense.

If elite status perks are worth more to you for a particular stay, you may want to consider trying to maximize this credit on a different booking. That's because when you book hotels through a third-party site such as Chase Travel SM you typically won't earn elite status credit. You also won't normally receive elite status benefits, such as free breakfast or room upgrades.

If you're looking for hotel credits and benefits, a co-branded hotel credit card will typically offer the most value, but the perks will be tied to a specific brand. For statement credit perks that are more universal, you'll likely need to consider a general travel credit card.

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (see r ates and fees ) offers an annual travel credit of up to $300 for bookings made through Capital One Travel. This credit applies to hotels, but also flights, rental cars and more. When you combine this travel credit with the card's annual 10,000-mile bonus, it's not hard to justify keeping this premium credit card .
