WHITECHAPEL released their eighth studio album, Kin , last Fall via Metal Blade Records. Already sitting on one of the most enviable catalogs in contemporary metal, Kin , was produced once again by Mark Lewis with David Castillo at Ghostward Studios in Sweden handling the mixing, then Ted Jensen mastering it in Nashville, Tennessee. The resulting album is a dynamic and diverse collection, further advancing the band’s sound into new territory without losing sight of what brought them to this point. Combined with the full-on death metal assault that kicks off both “Lost Boy” and “To The Wolves,” which is as brutal and serrated as extreme metal gets, vocalist Phil Bozeman also explores his wide-ranging singing voice more, while cutting loose with his trademark roar across Kin ‘s eleven tracks which have stunned media worldwide.

Kin has gone on to hit #24 on the Current Albums Chart, peaking at #3 on Hard Music Albums, and #6 on the Independent Albums Chart.

Trivium Announce Fall 2022 North American Headline Tour

Facebook icon

Grammy-nominated band  TRIVIUM  —  Matt Heafy  [vocals, guitar],  Corey Beaulieu  [guitar],  Paolo Gregoletto [bass], and  Alex Bent [drums] — have announced their Fall 2022 tour plans.

The band will embark on the  Deadmen and Dragons Tour,  a headline run of North America produced by Live Nation, with support from  Between the Buried and Me ,  Whitechapel , and  Khemmis .

Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 22 at 10am local time. Get tickets  HERE .

To herald the news, there is a special live Twitch press conference happening now hosted by  Nik Nocturnal  on  his channel , featuring a guided chat with members from each band.

Trivium are very excited about the tour package they’ve put together for the fans — as they are passionate fans of each of their tourmates!

“Between the Buried and Me are the pioneers of mixing genres well before anyone else had,” says Heafy. “BTBAM back in 2002 — on the impeccable self titled album — showed that they were unapologetically ready to mix elements of death metal, melodic death metal, grindcore, power metal, prog, ethereal — at times beautiful — passages of melody. Their self-titled record was a massive influence on me; I was captivated by the immense mixture of so many styles. Through their combining of a vast range of sonics and soundscapes, they created a sound that is truly their own.”

Beaulieu also exclaims, “We’re excited to have Whitechapel be a part of this amazing bill. It’s been over 10 years since we toured together on the  Shogun  tour and seeing how the band has progressed over the years and added a killer melodic element to their brutal sound just makes it a perfect time to share the stage once again.”

“Khemmis is one of my favorite new bands of the last few years, and when we were putting the tour together, I heavily advocated for having them on the bill,” says Gregoletto. “I think it’s always a testament to a band’s sound when you have trouble pinning a label to it — doom, melodic metal, thrash, death metal. With Khemmis, it’s all in there and rocks hard. They are a 10/10 live band and did a great cover of ‘Rainbow in the Dark,’ so do not miss their set!”

Trivium will also return to the road in September, serving as main support for Iron Maiden. Those dates are  here .

Trivium shared the album’s title track, “In The Court Of The Dragon,” which featured an epic intro composed and orchestrated by Ihsahn (Emperor) and was accompanied by  an official short film music video  directed by Ryan Mackfall. Loudwire called out the song as “a skillful blend of dynamics. And blast beats just sound really, really good beneath Matt Heafy’s soothing clean singing” while  Revolver labeled it “epic.”  Guitar World  christened second single “ Feast Of Fire ” as “pummeling” and “quintessentially Trivium,” as Metal Injection declared it “really, really catchy.” The band also shared the video for “ The  Phalanx ” in partnership with Elder Scrolls.  Kerrang!  called it “huge.” Heafy discussed the genesis of the track with NME. Trivium announce 2022 North American tour

Between the Buried and Me, Whitechapel and Khemmis will serve as the openers on the trek, which is set to begin in early October

Matthew Heafy performs live on stage with Trivium during a concert at the Kesselhaus on June 19, 2019

Matt Heafy's been plenty busy with non-Trivium endeavors lately.

Just this year, he released the debut album from his black-metal side project, Ibaraki , and released new signature gear with Epiphone – in the form of the MKH Les Paul Custom Origins Collection – and KHDK Electronics (the In Waves clean boost pedal ).

Today though, he announced that he'll be hitting the road with his Trivium brothers once again this fall.

Beginning October 2 with a show in Boise, Idaho, the 'Deadmen and Dragons' tour will take the veteran metal outfit across North America, before concluding with a November 10 gig in Los Angeles. Between the Buried and Me, Whitechapel and Khemmis will serve as the openers for the tour's full duration.

"Between the Buried and Me are the pioneers of mixing genres well before anyone else had," Heafy said of his tourmates in a statement. "BTBAM back in 2002 – on the impeccable self titled album – showed that they were unapologetically ready to mix elements of death metal, melodic death metal, grindcore, power metal, prog [and] ethereal – at times beautiful – passages of melody.

"Their self-titled record was a massive influence on me; I was captivated by the immense mixture of so many styles. Through their combining of a vast range of sonics and soundscapes, they created a sound that is truly their own."

"We're excited to have Whitechapel be a part of this amazing bill," added Trivium electric guitar player Corey Beaulieu. "It's been over 10 years since we toured together on the  Shogun  tour and seeing how the band has progressed over the years and added a killer melodic element to their brutal sound just makes it a perfect time to share the stage once again."

"I think it's always a testament to a band's sound when you have trouble pinning a label to it – doom, melodic metal, thrash, death metal. With Khemmis, it's all in there and rocks hard. They are a 10/10 live band and did a great cover of Rainbow in the Dark , so do not miss their set!"

Whitechapel (formed in 2006) is an American deathcore band named after the the series of murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the East London district of Whitechapel, from Knoxville, Tennessee, U.S.

The band formed in 2006 by Knoxville residents Phil Bozeman on vocals, guitarists Ben Savage, Alex Wade and Ben Savage, bassist Gabe Crisp and drummer Kevin Lane. In 2007 after the release of a self-produced EP the band signed to the UK label Siege of Amida Records and Candlelight Records in the U.S., through which the band released their full-length debut “The Somatic Defilement”.

Before long Savage and Martin were replaced by guitarist Zach Householder and drummer Kevin Lane and signed with label Metal Blade. In 2008 arrived Whitechapel’s sophomore release “This Is Exile” after which they embarked on The Summer Slaughter Tour and their first headlining tour with Impending Doom and A Different Breed of Killer. Whitechapel’s fan base swelled with tour dates alongside popular acts such as Parkway Drive, Unearth and Trivium.

Produced by Jason Suecof, the band released their third album “A New Era of Corruption" in June 2010 debuting at No. 43 on the Billboard 200. The release led to featured spots at the California Metal Fest IV, 2010’s Warped Tour, a second stage show at the UK’s Download Festival and another U.S. headlining tour. Kevin Lane departed the group to return to college and was replaced by former Knights of the Abyss drummer Benjamin Harclerode.

In 2011 Whitechapel release the single “Section 8” ahead of a limited edition EP titled “Recorrupted”. The band embarked on another U.S. headlining tour named “The Recorruptour” before heading back to the studio with producer Mark Lewis to record their self-titled fourth LP. The album got its release in June 2012, debuted at No. 47 on the Billboard 200 and was led by the first single “Hate Creation”.

Whitechape’s fourth full-length album “Our Endless War” proved to be the band’s highest charting album reaching No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and topping the U.S. Hard Rock chart.

Live reviews

Knoxville death-core rockers Whitechapel may have only been on the circuit for less than a decade but with the huge amount of sound they create, it is hard not to sit up and pay attention to this band. They conduct their live performance with a huge amount of bravado and showmanship so as to make sure the crowd are fully engaged with the music and performance throughout.

Despite only having released their debut album in 2007, they have not really left the live circuit since then which means the musicians onstage all have fantastic abilities and know how to react to each other's instruments and act as one well tuned piece of rock machinery. Their music has been more positively received with every release in their homeland yet the setlist reflects the whole career thus far and when they contrast the likes of 'Diggs War' with 'Vicer Exerciser' it just totally works and keeps the fans moshing, jumping and chanting to the screeching guitars. It is a final performance of 'Our Endless War' that proves the new material may be the strongest thus far and tempts fans with where they could possibly go next.

Shadow of Intent sounded wonderful!

Aversions Crown did fine. I'm just not a fan.

Fleshgod Apocalypse was plagued by audio problems but they still rocked it.

Whitechapel is Whitechapel. Eff yeah.

The Black Dahlia Murder (my fav) brought so much energy to the stage as usual. They were funny, and kept the crowd thrashing. But they sounded...muted. The rhythm guitar drowned out Trevor's vocals. The lead guitar sounded far away. A total bass fest. I tried three other locations in the venue in case it was just acoustics but to no avail. I cried inside and left before they finished their set.

In the music world, bands often have a reputation of sounding better on their record than they do in person. This was not the case with Whitechapel. Phil Bozeman has this perfect blend of crazy screaming and control that is rivaled by few others. At the concert I went to, the other bands were great, but the crowd was the most excited and riled up when Whitechapel played. They were really interactive, even got a wall of death going, which was easily the highlight of the night. 10/10, please go and listen and mosh your face off, you won't regret it.

Fucking amazing show! The venue was perfect. Small, and personal. You could see everything. Abyss walker, Oceano were just as great as white chapel. The energy the bands gave off was emotional and mind blowing. My heart was so full of love afterwards. I've been to alot of shows, and this was probably the one of the most memorable. I'll definitely go back to this venue again in the future.

Seeing White Chapel was amazing! The four openers, (necromancing the stone, Allegaeon, Goatwhore, and Cattle Decapitation) were amazing too. Almost every song was filled with non-stop stage diving, crowd surfing, and an amazing mosh pit. They opened with "the saw is the law" my personal favorite. And it was my first time in the pit. Hope to see them again cx

First off, the Orpheum is hands down the best venue in southwest fl. Whitechapel were good, however Carnifex stole the show with their intensity, sound and overall performance. Whitechapel seemed to be more about their image and how they would look in a photo rather than the show itself. All in all pretty awesome.

I absolutely love the hell outta this band! Saw them last year on October 12th in Webster NY. They were playing so damn hard that they shook the place and knocked out the power for a solid 10 minutes. I highly recommend seeing this band live. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
