Californian electro outfit The New Division can already boast to having a band name that sounds instantly timeless. They have a great approach to making music and seem to be in it for the long haul as they compose considered and expansive pieces of electro. The quartet who cite the likes of Royksopp and New Order as influences have so far released two albums and have taken to the road to test the water with the ever growing fanbase.
The intimacy of the venues suits the music well as they create a moody setting through the help of lighting and excess smoke. They run through the new album 'Together We Shine' in its near entirety with its curious hooks and shining production values. The quartet comes together well and work as a unit succinctly, the practice they must have invested ahead of their breakthrough is very obvious tonight. Finishing on a couple of tracks from the debut 'Shadows' allows the boys to show development as they have adapted 'Shallow Play' to include a new rousing outro.

I've been a New Division fan since 2011 when a friend of mine recommended "Shadows." Lush backgrounds with incredible builds, soaring vocals, lyrics heavy with dark poetry - masterfully crafted songs. Since then, it has been great to hear their sound evolve; their latest, "Gemini," is fantastic. I like to sum them up as "Joy Division without the Joy" - while they have the synth components of their namesake, they bring a level of raw emotion that goes beyond those early days of darkwave. Their live shows are a lot of fun; they bring sounds, lights, smoke, dancing - this is no shoegazer band, and they bring a level of energy that's missing from a lot of modern shows. If you haven't heard any of their tracks, I'd recommend starting with "Opium" and "Shallow Play" from Shadows, and then "Eyes" and "Killer" from Gemini. You won't regret it.
Awesome band! Awesome venue! Just great guys, super talented and extremely nice, they put on a great show. The whole band had great energy and even got to meet all of them afterwards, so glad we got to see them! Can’t wait till they come back through the East Coast!

The New Division Shares Another Electrifying Single With “One Day”
The New Division injects an irresistible house beat into an already hypnotic mix of synth explosions and radiantly shimmering guitars.
The New Division is back with another electrifying and adrenaline-racing single with the release of “One Day” and its immersive visualizer. The project of California-based musician, producer, and sound designer John Kunkel , the new single arrives not long after the release of his recent album Modern Life . What started in 2009 as an attempt to harness and pay homage to his favorite bands ( New Order , Depeche Mode ) has grown into an enigmatic synth-fueled project all its own.

“One Day” finds The New Division continuing to experiment and tweak their sound with every new offering. Kunkel injects an irresistible house beat into an already hypnotic mix of synth explosions and radiantly shimmering guitars. But throw in the kinetic punctuation of such relentless bass and sonics — and you have a recipe for something truly propulsive. With insatiable intensity, the track is a pulsating mass of anthemics caught in a perpetual cycle of ecstatic swells and fathomless drops. One that is made all the more rapturous by Kunkel’s vocals as they soar aglow with a riveting expression of heartfelt longing.
“One Day” also comes with a stunning visualizer created by Pau Lara using computer-generated graphics. Perfectly synced to the track’s oceanic movements, the video envisions a strange and digitized landscape made up entirely of pixelated light. Out of the flickering reds and blues that fill the screen figures start to take shape as a human body appears walking through what looks like a desert. This person travels over hills and into grand digital vistas in search of a memory: one that pictures two people in spacesuits caught in an embrace amongst the majestic vistas. The video perfectly captures the track’s lovelorn but hopeful sense of yearning.

The new division – “one day” [song review].
Saturated with gliding, soaring sensations replete with dark auras, The New Division’s “One Day” immerses listeners in a phantasmagoric soundscape.
The New Division is the electronic synth-pop project of John Kunkel , a California-based musician, producer, and sound designer with Brazilian American heritage who just released his new single/music video, “ One Day ,” exploring topics of love, loss, and addiction.
The project began in 2005 in Riverside, California, when Kunkel was 18. Synth-pop was experiencing a revival as listeners were pervaded by ’80s nostalgia. The retro sound of synthesizers, different from post-grunge and nu-metal, caught on.
“One Day’s” intro features spacy, oscillating layers of synths topped by Kunkel’s rich, dreamy voice, followed by a brief bridge, opening the door to a progressive house rhythm travelling on a thumping kick-drum. A softly thrumming breakdown shifts the flow, highlighting Kunkel’s longing timbres, then rolls into a potently glittering outro.
The video, created by Pau Lara , is a throbbing, pixelated trip, conjuring up memories of the sci-fi movie Altered States crossed with a video game.
Saturated with gliding, soaring sensations replete with dark auras, “One Day” immerses listeners in a phantasmagoric soundscape.

Taylor Swift is about to go back on tour: Here's what to expect on the Eras Tour in Paris
After a two-month break, Taylor Swift is revitalizing her titanic Eras Tour in Paris, and fans believe there are changes coming to the show.
If you are wondering where she's playing, if there will be changes and how to score tickets, here's everything we know.
And if you're new to the Eras Tour party, you can get caught up on the first 83 shows here .
When does the Eras Tour start again?
Swift kicks off the European leg of her tour on Thursday, May 9, in Paris. She will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, as well, in the City of Light.
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
What are Taylor Swift's tour dates in Europe?
There are 69 shows left in the Eras Tour: 51 in Europe, nine in America and nine in Canada.
The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.
See a complete list of international dates here .
After she wraps up in Europe, Swift will stop in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.
See the remaining U.S. dates here .
What is the Eras Tour set list?
The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.
Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?
The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."
Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.
Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.
Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?
Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.
Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.
Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website Islands.com .
10. Vienna, Austria — total average cost: $1,089, safety score: 69.72
9. Cardiff, U.K. — total average cost: $1,061, safety score: 61.83
8. Lyon, France — total average cost: $1,047, safety score: 44.3
7. Lisbon, Portugal — total average cost: $1,028, safety score: 70.15
6. Munich, Germany — total average cost: $1,000, safety score: 78.88
5. Paris, France — total average cost: $971, safety score: 41.83
4. Stockholm, Sweden — total average cost: $935, safety score: 53.86
3. Hamburg, Germany — total average cost: $903, safety score: 57.51
2. Gelsenkirchen, Germany — total average cost: $749, safety score: 51.33
1. Warsaw, Poland — total average cost: $712, safety score: 72.98

Who are the opening acts?
Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."
When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.
Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?
The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.
On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.
There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.
What secret songs are left?
For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:
- "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
- "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
- "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
- "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
- "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
- "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
- "Folklore": "Hoax"
- "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
- "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
- "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks
Will Taylor Swift perform in 2025?
There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.

New York on two wheels: What to know about the Five Boro Bike Tour
May 5 marks the 46th Five Boro Bike Tour in the city. Less than a year after the New York City Marathon became a five-borough course, the city’s cyclists decided to do their own version of the idea.
The first Five Boro Bike Tour took place in 1977, with only around 200-250 participants . Now, over 32,000 riders take part in what organizers say is more of a community than a competition.
What is the Five Boro Bike Tour?
The Five Boro Bike Tour is the cyclist’s annual opportunity to enjoy 40 miles of car-free roads in the city, including the chance to ride on city highways.
Bike New York, the nonprofit that manages the tour, says it’s the largest charitable bike ride in the world, with the proceeds funding free bike education programs.
When is the bike tour?
The tour starts on the morning of Sunday, May 5. The first waves start as early as 7:30 a.m. All cyclists will set off by 10:30 a.m.
The time it takes to complete the tour depends on your bicycle and experience level. Most cyclists report anywhere between three to five hours.
Where does the tour take riders?
Cyclists start the 40-mile, traffic-free route by gathering in Lower Manhattan and making their way up Sixth Avenue. The tour stretches through Central Park and Harlem before briefly crossing into the Bronx. It then makes its way along FDR Drive before going across the Queensboro Bridge into Long Island City. Next is a trip across the Pulaski Bridge into Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Then, the tour travels onto the BQE and the Gowanus Parkway, and then heads onto the lower level of the Verrazzano Bridge and into Staten Island.
At the end of the line is the Finish Festival at Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island. Participants are treated to live music, food trucks and photo opportunities.
Are there any major street closures to be aware of?
Yes, there are a number of closures in each of the five boroughs. A full list can be found here .
Can I still sign up?
Unfortunately, registration closed on April 12, but there are spots in each borough for spectators to cheer on and support cyclists along the route.
Cheer zones include Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard in Harlem, 138th Street and Third Ave in Mott Haven, off the exit of the Queensboro Bridge in Long Island City, near Seventh Street in Williamsburg and at the finish line at Fort Wadsworth.
I’m already signed up, but I don’t know where my start point is. What do I need to do?
Those registered should have received their wave assignment, including their start time and point of entry to the route, via email. They were emailed out between April 26 and April 29.
Also included in the email are the times and location riders can pick up their participation packet. It includes the racer ID plate and helmet cover required to take part in the tour.
For all other questions on the tour, head here .

The Division 2 Year 6: Expected start date, roadmap, DLC, and everything we know so far
A new year beckons for Agents in Washington D.C. and New York City, and here's what we know about it so far.
- Expected start date
- Roadmap and content
The Division 2 currently drops three seasons per year, and as we're in the third Year 5 season right now, that means Year 6 is right around the corner. Despite having confirmed The Division 3 exists, and despite continued waiting on the free-to-play spin-off, The Division Heartland, the current title shows no signs of slowing down.
As a matter of fact, Year 6 is shaping up to be a huge year for players of The Division 2. The roadmap has changed somewhat through the end of 2023 and into 2024, but there are some major additions expected in Year 6.
Let's break down what we know so far.
The Division 2 Year 6 expected start date
Officially, Ubisoft hasn't announced the start date for Year 6 and its first season, but it's also not much of a secret. In-game, there's a permanent countdown timer for the current season, which you can see at the Seasons Vendor in the Base of Operations. We also know that The Division 2 always does its weekly resets on a Tuesday, so armed with this knowledge, we can make a pretty well-educated guess as to when it'll kick off.
Counting down from where we are now, the expected start date for Year 6 Season 1 would be Tuesday, June 4 . This is, of course, always subject to change if issues arise, but based on the information we currently have handy this is when we can expect to jump into the new year and its first season.
The Division 2 Year 6 roadmap and new content
The roadmap for The Division 2 has changed in recent months, down to the addition of the gargantuan Project Resolve upgrades. The biggest casualty of this was the release of the planned expansion DLC , slated to take us to an as-yet unexplored part of the universe in Brooklyn, New York.
Originally, we would have been playing the DLC already. But with Project Resolve being such a large and important part of setting up the game for the future, it was bumped to Year 6, Season 3. That means we won't be seeing it until early 2025 as things currently stand.

All the latest news, reviews, and guides for Windows and Xbox diehards.
Before that though, there's still a lot to look forward to. Year 6 Season 1 is currently slated as the last to include Project Resolve quality of life improvements before new content kicks off.
Year 6 Season 2 is marked as the big drop of Seasons 2.0, a revamp to the existing seasonal model, though at this point, we don't have any details on how this will look.
As ever, there will be a regular rotation of new Apparel Events, and we can expect the regular Leagues and Global Events to continue through Year 6.
The Division 2 Year 6 new gear
Traditionally, each new season brings with it some new gear in the form of brand sets, gear sets named items and new Exotics. That looks set to continue into Year 6, and the first batch has already been out in testing on the PTS.
As it's still only been in testing, I won't dwell on the stats right now, as these could easily change before they hit the live servers. But so far, here's what we're looking to get.
- Zwiadowka Sp. z o.o brand set
- Bober named chest piece
- Eagle's Grasp named gloves
- Breaking Point gear set
- Acosta's Kneepads exotic kneepads
- Overlord exotic shotgun
If you're interested in seeing the stats and talents as they currently stand, check out the most recent PTS patch notes for more.
There's nothing to suggest that Ubisoft won't keep adding new gear to The Division 2 in the same way. However, with the Season 2.0 revamp planned for the second season of Year 6, there's always a chance what we get and how we get it could change.
For Year 6 Season 1 things seem to be set to follow the current system, so we'll likely see all of these new items appear on the free track of the Season Pass.
A new year, new threats
The Division 2 has already far outlived what we originally expected its life span to be, and with a sequel likely many years away, there's still a lot of life left in the current game.
There's already a ridiculous amount of content to play, and Year 6 is going to add even more, as well as revamping the experience players already have further. The story has been advancing through each season, and with the recent change in focus of the seasonal manhunt to focus on Agent Kelso , there are potentially some big twists coming to set up Year 6.
It's a gold standard example of how to run a live service game, and with no sign of slowing down, it's looking like another exciting year is on the horizon for The Division 2 and its agents.

Rickie Fowler to switch into standard-length, custom orange Jailbird putter
Change Text Size
Rickie Fowler, the undisputed Odyssey Jailbird king of 2023, is likely making a major switch-up to his popular putter setup this week at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.
First, a brief recap of how we got here.
Fowler was struggling with his putting leading into 2023, but the elongated putter and Jailbird mallet head helped quell his issues.
“I was very shocked, because I never really looked into anything that was longer, counterbalanced, or anything like that,” Fowler said in 2023. “It’s very interesting, but it’s kind of freeing me up in a way. I’m not changing stroke-wise, or setup, not gripping anything differently than my normal length putter. I just feel like it’s, I don’t know, kind of helping me do some things, and I don’t have to think about it.”
After the putter switch was proven effective, his fellow PGA TOUR players started to take notice, and some even switched into a replica putter for themselves. Most famously, Wyndham Clark used the Fowler-esque Jailbird putter setup to win the 2023 U.S. Open, and the Jailbird went onto become a top-10 equipment story of 2023 .
In response to the Jailbird craze, Odyssey has released a limited-edition Jailbird 380 putter , and has included various Jailbird profile options into its new Ai-ONE series of putters.
The Jailbird craze hasn’t really slowed down in 2024, either. According to Odyssey rep Joe Toulon, there are about 18-20 Jailbird putter users on the PGA TOUR.
Most recently, Akshay Bhatia won the 2024 Valero Texas Open using a broomstick style Odyssey Jailbird 380 putter and Webb Simpson is switching into a replica of that putter at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.
Now, Fowler, who essentially started the whole Jailbird craze, is making a significant change to his putter setup.
Rickie Fowler started experimenting with a new, custom-orange Jailbird 380 head that’s equipped with a standard 35-inch putter build, rather than his previous 38-inch counter-balanced setup. (Courtesy GolfWRX)
Fowler, who has had a couple weeks off since the 2024 RBC Heritage, started experimenting with a new, custom-orange Jailbird 380 head that’s equipped with a standard 35-inch putter build, rather than his previous 38-inch counter-balanced setup.
According to Fowler, while he still likes the look and forgiveness of his Jailbird putter head, he’s looking to re-incorporate more feel into his hands during the putting stroke.
Rickie Fowler's putter setup in 2023 (left) and in 2024 (right). (Courtesy GolfWRX)
He told GolfWRX.com on Tuesday at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship that the 38-inch counterbalanced setup “served its purpose” by helping him to neutralize his hands during the stroke, but now it’s time to try the standard-length putter with a standard-size SuperStroke Pistol Tour grip to help with his feel and speed control.
Although Fowler was also spotted testing standard-length mallets from L.A.B. Golf and Axis1 on Tuesday, he confirmed that the custom Odyssey Jailbird 380 is the putter he’ll use this week at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.
We’ll keep an eye on Fowler going forward to see how the change works, and any further testing he conducts, but for now, Fowler is back into a standard-length putter.
