I believe I saw the same video, or one similar. The individual was towing through a construction zone and a sudden dip caused his frame to bend at the A-frame to TT frame weld joint. I would think you would see this more often if it was a serious issue. 100,000's if people tow their travel trailer every day with zero issues.

Frame issues anyone? I came across a video on YouTube of an owner of a Keystone Springdale, a little newer than my 2017 model, whose tongue frame was bent when the trailer hit a bump as it transitioned from pavement to gravel along a construction route. Broken Frame. Hi. I have a 2018 MiniLite Rockwood 1905 purchased in May 2017. After 3 seasons on regular roads, I discovered this May (2020) that the frame of my travel trailer is broken at the weel level on the door side of the trailer. See photos. I have a 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RLTS fifth-wheel. The frame is broken in at least six places and the main rails are severely bent. There is probably also frame damage near the king pin box. There is also damage to the cabin from the frame problems (e.g. the cabin is tilted to one side, slides out of alignment, side walls separating from floor).

I've seen a frame failure on an Airstream Bambi that looked like the same type of failure as in the video, but the owner also had a load-leveling hitch on that tiny trailer, so I presumed that it was because he'd cranked up the tension on the hitch and collapsed the front subframe.

Almost all broken frames are on Trailers from the 1980s or earlier. Of course anything can break, even brand new. Early Scamps were made of a much lighter gauge steel than newer ones. As for Casitas, I can only surmise the same is true, since nearly every cracked frame I have seen on any fiberglass trailer was from the early years.

Hull #85 2015 LE 2. In August 2018 we had to take our Oliver back to the factory because three welds on the rear bumper failed. The factory replaced the rear bumper at that time, added some gussets on the frame and repaired welds that needed attention. One of the cross beam welds does currently have a small crack.

The ones that flex and bend under the stress survive. The solid ones crumble. An efficient solution is to have more cross members properly attached to the main frame members. Load distribution is the idea. Less load, less overload, less failures. The supported tanks would like it much better as well.

Just returned from a lengthy trip across the country. Discovered a couple of broken welds where the front cross members are welded to the frame (lower front cap area behind the battery boxes) and cracked frames. Pics attached.
