For golfers not staying at Big Cedar Lodge, tee-time booking windows are as follows:

• Payne's Valley: Tee times can be booked up to 14 days in advance for tee times falling between April 15 - October 27, and 30 days in advance for tee times falling between October 28 - April 14.
• All other courses : Tee times can be booked up to 30 days in advance, and 60 days in advance for tee-times falling between June 15th and August 15th.

Junior Rates – Junior rates apply to any player 17 or younger.

9-Hole Rates – 9-Hole rates are only offered at Buffalo Ridge after 12:00 pm.

Aeration Rates - Recovery rates are offered the 10 days following aeration. See our aeration schedule below for more information.

Enhance your golf experience with Big Cedar Golf caddie services. Each tee time is able to book a single forecaddie for their round to assist players with yardages, reading putts, target lines, divot & ball mark repair, club cleaning, and more. These services help our golfers focus on their game and enjoy the beautiful setting of Big Cedar Golf in the Ozark Mountains.

The use of a forecaddie is highly recommended at Ozarks National due to the challenge and design of the course. We also offer Double-Bag caddie at Mountain Top.

Caddie Payment & Gratuity:

Payment for service is made directly to the caddie by the golfer  in cash only following the end of the round.

A $50 caddie fee per bag is suggested with a recommended gratuity of $30 per bag. Please adjust gratuity at your discretion based on experience.

How to Book: 

Reservations for caddies are made on a first-come-first-serve basis. We take all necessary steps to assign caddies to groups as requested when available.

To book your caddie, please email our caddie manager at [email protected] . Make sure to include the name of the tee time reservation, as well as the date, time, and number of players. Please submit all caddie reservation requests at least 3 days in advance of the date of play.

Our caddie manager will assign your group a caddie and send a confirmation email that your reservation was received.

Practice Facilities

Big Cedar Golf offers multiple practice facilities with access for golfers included in their greens fees. If guests wish to use the range without playing a round of golf, Buffalo Ridge offers daily access to the practice facilities for $45 per player. Below is a list of each practice amenity located at the different courses.

• Top of the Rock - Putting green is temporarily closed . Guests playing Top of the Rock are able to use the practice facilities at Buffalo Ridge if they wish to warm up before their round. Please note, Buffalo Ridge is 16 minutes away from Top of the Rock by car.
• Mountain Top - Driving Range (Ozarks National), Short Game Area (Ozarks National), Putting Green

Buffalo Ridge Practice Facility

Tom watson putting course, ozarks national practice facility, food & beverage, convenient dining for a great time, harry’s cocktail lounge & bar, buffalo bar, mountain top grill, the worman house bistro, osage restaurant, tall tales bar & grill, additional golfer friendly dining options, ozarks national patio bar.

Enjoy a drink with a view at the Ozarks National pro shop. The patio bar features your favorite on-course beverages and light snacks overlooking the 1st, 3rd, and 18th, hole at Ozarks National.

Johnny's Hot Dog Stand

A round at Buffalo Ridge Springs can work up an appetite. Pull up to Johnny’s Hot Dog Stand on Hole No. 5 and grab a ‘dog and some snacks-to-go. Overlooking the lake between holes 5 and 6, the rustic, log cabin structure also features an expansive deck and chairs overlooking the water.

Buffalo Ridge Bar at Buffalo Ridge

Conveniently located in the Buffalo Ridge Pro Shop, the Buffalo Ridge Bar offers golfers grab-n-go BBQ, sandwiches, snacks and drinks inside a reclaimed Civil War-era barn.

Turn Stations at Payne's Valley & Ozarks National

Included with every round at Payne's Valley and Ozarks National is access to complimentary snacks at the turn stations. Each course features a turn station at the halfway point of the course allowing golfers to grab a hot dog, snacks, candy, and more. All complimentary! Golf balls and drinks are also available for purchase inside the turn stations.

Getting around.

Our world-class courses are set in the charming Ozark Mountains. The terrain of the region created the opportunity to utilize multiple clubhouses. This means that there are four different facilities and parking lots, and the golf courses are not all connected. Golfers playing multiple rounds in the same day may be required to drive from one course location to another.

Ship your Golf Clubs

Looking to ship your golf clubs to Big Cedar Lodge? Follow the link below to have Ship Sticks deliver your clubs to the course for you! When scheduling your shipment, please have your clubs scheduled to be delivered to our facilities two-days before your first date of play. Please include your name, group booking name, and first course of play on the outside of your club shipment.

Complimentary Golf Course Shuttles

Big Cedar Guests staying on property are offered complimentary shuttle service between the golf courses and their rooms. Scheduled pick-up times with our shuttle department should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Shuttle service may be booked by calling 417-339-5105.

Above is a travel time chart. We recommend that guests arrive 45 minutes in advance and account for the potential of slow traffic.

Getting Here

Many of our guests drive to Big Cedar Lodge because we are less than a day's drive from the hometowns of more than one-third of all Americans. However, more and more low-cost flight options are arriving on a daily basis through the Branson Airport, Branson Jet Center, Springfield-Branson National Airport, and other airports offering private flights. Please note, our resort does not provide airport transportation.

Big Cedar Golf is known for its pristine and beautiful golf courses. In order to keep our award-winning course in top shape, we perform regular aeration practices during the Spring & Fall. This maintenance effort helps keep our greens looking healthy all year long, and gives our players the best game experience that they can have. Following aeration, Big Cedar Golf offers golfers a reduced rate during the recovery period.

During this time, we are dedicated to minimizing the impact of these projects on your experience. Zoysia Fairways During Spring & Fall

Our golf courses feature zoysia fairways, a grass type known for its superb playing surface and ability to stand up to heat, drought, heavy foot traffic and other challenges during the golf season. During the winter, the grass goes dormant in cold weather. Our fairway grass typically returns to its lush, green look during the month of April. And in the fall, the grass begins to go dormant towards the end of October with the cooler fall weather. The exact time of the seasonal changes depends on the temperature during that time of year and can vary by weeks, but our golf turf remains playable all year long. Please be aware of our aeration dates below. The aeration recovery rate is automatically applied on these dates when you book online:

What is the average pace of play?

• Payne's Valley: 5 hours
• Ozarks National: 4 hours and 30 minutes
• Buffalo Ridge: 4 hours and 30 minutes
• Top of the Rock: 1 hour and 45 minutes
• Mountain Top: 2 hours

Do you have a caddie program?

We currently offer forecaddies at all Big Cedar courses by request. To request your forecaddie, please contact our caddie manager at [email protected].

What is your dress code for men?

Proper golf attire, including collared shirts, is required for men over 12 years old.

What is your dress code for women?

Proper golf attire, no bathing suits, or tank tops.

Do the carts have built-in GPS monitors?

Yes, all golf carts have built-in GPS units. Please note: Mountain Top is a walking-only course and does not offer golf carts. Digital range finders are provided, at no charge, in the respective pro shop. Players may check out range finders in exchange for their I.D.

I'm playing golf but I have someone coming with me who just wants to ride along, is that ok?

Riders are allowed for a rider fee for anyone not playing golf. At Mountain Top, they may walk with you at no charge. We ask that anyone who will be hitting shots on the course pay a greens fee to limit any confusion there may be with someone who has not paid playing golf on the course.

• Top of the Rock Rider Fee: $30

Is Mountain Top hilly and difficult to walk?

The course is mostly along a ridgeline, and there are a couple of uphill walks at the beginning and end of the round. However, the majority of the course is relatively flat or downhill with less than 2 miles of total walking.

Are there carts or special accommodations for players with disabilities at Mountain Top?

Mountain Top does not allow carts on the course, other than walking pushcarts. We are happy to offer carts and accommodations for individuals with disabilities at our other courses (Payne's Valley, Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, and Top of the Rock) when weather and course conditions allow.

How fast are your greens? What is Stimp speed?

Our green speeds average between 9.5 and 11 on the Stimpmeter depending on the day and weather conditions.

Can multiple people use the same golf clubs?

For pace of play purposes and standard course etiquette, all players must play out of their own bag. Rental clubs are available for purchase in the pro shop.

What kind of grass do you have on the course?

Payne's Valley, Buffalo Ridge, Mountain Top, and Ozarks National all have Zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens. Top of the Rock features bentgrass tee boxes and bentgrass greens.

When does your grass go dormant?

Our fairway zoysia is typically dormant and yellow from the last week of October through March. It will typically greens back up towards the beginning of April and stay green through most of October. Weather and soil temperatures will affect the exact dates.

Can I wear metal spikes, boots, high heels, etc.?

We are a soft spike golf shoe facility; you may also wear tennis shoes.

We have five players. Can we all play together?

We allow a maximum of four players per group. You may have three players in one group and two in another.

Can I bring my own alcoholic beverages?

Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed, but we offer beverages for purchase at the pro shop.

Wonders of Wildlife is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly with elevators available throughout. Wagons or wagon-style strollers are not permitted in the museum due to narrow walkways. Ample seating is available in various areas of the Wildlife Galleries and the Aquarium Adventure. Lawn and camping chairs are not permitted.

We're happy to offer wheelchair, scooter and stroller rentals during your visit to WOW. All rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The next time you’re getting ready for a day on the water, make a fishing trip packing list of everything you need to do before you slide your boat in the water or put your waders on. Then organize the list in the order you need to accomplish each task.

Turn that into a checklist and follow it until you’re doing all of those things by instinct and don’t have to make a list. When it becomes second nature to check things like the air pressure in your boat trailer tires, your waders for leaks, your rod guides for nicks, line for kinks, inventory your tackle box and anything else you can think of, you’ll be well on your way to having the most fun and the least worries every time you go out.

Bull Shoals Lake

Early in the day, fish the flooded bushes with a spinner bait or a topwater lure, then flip a Bass Pro Shops Crawdiggy Craw in the deeper bushes later in the day.

Table Rock Lake

The white bass are fun to catch and schooling early in the back of most pockets. Use top-water lures. When they go down and the top-water bite disappears, use a white slab spoon. The bass are moving to the trees and bluff ends. A drop shot is best.

Stockton Lake

The lake is fishing very tough. A shakey head on steeper points is your best bet.

Lake Ozarks

Get up early! It’s top water time around the big docks. After that, use a big worm in the brush piles on the deep end of the docks.

Bass Pro Shops will be open on Memorial Day 2024.

Cabela's Inc., another retailer specializing in hunting, fishing, camping , and boating, will remain open over the holiday weekend , and on Monday, May 27, 2024.

Cabela's was notably acquired by Bass Pro Shops in 2017.

Nearly all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's locations will operate under normal business hours, opening at 8 or 9 am and closing at 8 or 9 pm.

Does Bass Pro Shops close for any holidays?

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's locations are open nearly year-round.

The chains do, however, close their doors on Christmas Day .

They may also offer limited hours on other federal holidays, including Thanksgiving , New Year's Day , and Easter Sunday .

Who is Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris?

Johnny Morris is an American billionaire businessman.

He is the founder, majority owner, and current CEO of Bass Pro Shops.

Morris' net worth is estimated to be $8.3 billion.

Morris got his start in 1972, when, at 24 years old, he started selling fishing tackle out of his father's Brown Derby Liquor Store in Springfield, Missouri .

Morris also credits his father, a World War II veteran , for instilling in him a love of the great outdoors, often taking him fishing and hunting in his youth.

As Morris' customer base grew, they requested specialized gear, leaving him to create a Bass Pro Shops catalog in 1974.

By 1981, he had opened his first storefront in Missouri, which was followed by a second location in Duluth, Georgia , in 1995.

From then on, Morris continued to open a few stores a year and later acquired Cabela's in 2017.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Putin claims West provoked Kharkiv offensive

The Russian president has said the West provoked the Kremlin's latest offensive into Ukraine's Kharkiv region by ignoring warnings not to allow Kyiv to strike the Russian region of Belgorod.

President Putin knows that his critical vulnerability is Western military capability, and that should the West become directly involved in the defence of Ukraine, Russia's objectives would no longer be achievable.

As a result, Russia continues to augment its military strategy in Ukraine with targeted rhetoric and information operations designed to deter Western governments from increasing military support to Ukraine.

As Mr Putin's concerns have mounted, the rhetoric has become more inflammatory, leading to more regular rattling of the nuclear sabre.

However, Mr Putin is also well aware that a nuclear war would have no winners; the concept has been described as MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction. 

If the strategy succeeds and the West is deterred from protecting a nation from Russian aggression, where does that leave Russia's wider "empire" ambitions - and China's too?

This past week, Russia chose to remind the world that it had developed the most powerful and longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile - called SATAN II - which can deliver nuclear weapons to almost any point on the Earth's surface. 

Russia routinely uses the threat of escalation as a weapon of war.  No civilised country wants to go to war, and reminding nations of the potential consequences of an escalation is a powerful deterrent.

However, history shows that there are times when people need to make choices if they are to preserve their way of life and the values they cherish. 

A utopian world where all nations live in peace might have enduring appeal, but the harsh reality is that there are always those that will seek to capitalise, to build empires, and provoke major conflicts. 

The omnipresent challenge is when to confront such tyrants, and history suggests the earlier, the better.

Mr Putin knows that his battle-worn forces would be no match for Western air and land power, so is using all the tools at his disposal to deter greater Western engagement. And, that strategy appears to be working. 

However, if the West decides not to call Mr Putin's bluff and accepts Russia's aggressive expansion, where next? 

Russia should stand its ground and keep on with what it calls its "special military operation" in Ukraine in response to the West's military fervour, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

Mr Peskov said at the same time the West had no unanimity of opinion regarding the Ukrainian army's strikes on Russian territory using Western weapons.

NATO's Parliamentary Assembly has called for member states to support Ukraine's "international right" to defend itself by lifting "some restrictions" on Kyiv's use of Western weapons in Russia (see 10.57am post).

Vladimir Putin has said the West provoked the Kremlin's latest offensive into Ukraine's Kharkiv region by ignoring warnings not to allow Kyiv to strike the Russian region of Belgorod.

Giving a speech earlier today, the Russian president said strikes on Belgorod this month were carried out using weapons provided by the West and were only possible with the help of specialists from Western countries. 

"[The] West should understand what it is playing with," Mr Putin warned, adding that any escalation could lead to "serious consequences". 

Kharkiv remains a major focus after Russia opened a new front on the northeastern border.

Over the weekend, Moscow's defence ministry claimed it had taken the settlement of Ivanivka, but victory in the Kharkiv region has been the subject of conflicting reports, with Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying Ukraine had secured "combat control".

Ukraine 'rejected' peace talks

When questioned about potential peace talks with Ukraine, Mr Putin blamed Kyiv for refusing negotiations.

He said Russia had never abandoned peace talks and was ready to return to them, but claimed Ukraine was instead focusing on its fortunes on the battlefield.

"That's Ukraine that rejected the peace talks," Mr Putin said. 

"They do not want to agree, but are trying to change the situation on the battlefield. In that case, there will be more Ukrainian losses."

The 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade is on the frontline in the eastern Donbas region.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for Joe Biden to attend a peace summit organised by Kyiv in Switzerland next month.

The Ukrainian president said if the US president missed the event it would be like a standing ovation for Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine hopes to host as many countries as possible in an effort to unite opinion on how to halt the war and heap pressure on Russia, which has seized almost a fifth of Ukraine's territory.

"I know that the US supports the summit but we don't know at what level," Mr Zelenskyy said in Brussels at a joint press conference with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.

"[The] peace summit needs President Biden and so do the other leaders who look at the reaction of the United States.

"His absence would be an applause to Putin, a personal standing applause to Putin." 

On Sunday Mr Zelenskyy urged both Mr Biden and his Chinese counterpart and Mr Putin's close ally, Xi Jinping, to attend the summit .

Russia has said it sees no point in the conference.

The funds are from voluntary donations from Russian citizens and ethnic Russians living in Bulgaria.

More than 1,400 Russian troops have been injured since last Friday, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.

Moscow also lost 21 tanks and 40 armoured combat vehicles, it said.

Although Western estimates of Russian losses differ from Ukraine's, it is nonetheless a sign of the staggering human cost of the war for Moscow.

Russia does not routinely publish numbers of casualties or losses of equipment. Ukraine provides some figures - but infrequently.

In February, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 31,000 of his troops had been killed in two years of war.

Poland should not rule out sending troops to Ukraine, foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in comments published today.

It comes as Kyiv struggles to repel Russian advances in eastern Ukraine.

Mr Sikorski did not specify what role Polish troops would play in the conflict.

Ukraine's NATO allies have vowed to supply the beleaguered nation with weapons and money for as long as it takes to fend off Russia's invasion, but they have generally ruled out the possibility of sending soldiers.

Asked in an interview whether Poland was ready to send troops to Ukraine, Mr Sikorski said: "We shouldn't rule it out. We should leave Putin guessing as to our intentions".

The interview was published in Poland's Gazeta Wyborcza, Italy's La Repubblica and Spain's El Pais.

Previously, French President Emmanuel Macron suggested Western troops could help with the training of Ukrainians in Ukraine.

It comes after Ukraine's top military commander said he had signed paperwork allowing French military instructors to visit Ukrainian training centres soon.

As Russia opens a new front on Ukraine's northeastern border, the war has entered an important phase.

When will F-16s arrive? I truly believe they will mark a turning point in the War.

Military analyst Sean Bell  had this to say:

Although there is growing expectation that the initial tranche of F-16 fighter jets being donated to Ukraine could arrive as soon as early July, it is not clear whether the other ingredients of this powerful air power capability will be in place by that time.

Providing a credible and effective Ukrainian combat air capability requires suitably trained and experienced pilots, ground crew, weapons, defensive aids and radar. All these components need to be in place before the Ukrainian Air Force will be ready to go into battle with the Russian military.  

Once the F-16s are place, the challenge facing Ukraine will be when and where to use these valuable resources - and how to avoid them being destroyed before they can contribute to the Ukrainian defensive effort.

They will provide Ukraine with an invaluable - albeit scarce - resource. The F-16s could be used to support the frontline, but they will be very vulnerable in that dynamic and hostile air environment. 

They could also be used to conduct strikes against key military targets inside Russian territory, which would certainly force a change in Moscow's tactics. Or, if Ukraine wanted to threaten Crimea, the F-16s could be used in a coordinated attack in support of a wider campaign.

Regardless, with Russia on the front foot in the Donbas, Ukraine needs all the help it can to reverse Russian momentum on the battlefield.
