The driver was professional and helpful. They picked us up at our hotel, skipped the line at LaSagrada, placed us right at the entrance to Park Guiel and then gave us a tour of Gaudi's other houses. The entire trip was fabulous, cannot recommend it highly enough. It was obvious that Angels loved her job---she made it fun and interesting. Read more Written May 3, 2024
  • ammapanyin 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Afternoon walking tour with Sergio, Corpo Santo Hotel The afternoon walking tour focused on historical places - 1st and 2nd bookstores, historical buildings that cannot be changed, historical shops, and a historical skywalk, among other things. Sergio was very knowledgeable, told us information about each historical building and answered questions, He was patient, and made sure we all stayed together and everyone was present. The timing was just right so we did not get tired walking. The tour took place in another section of town from the morning tour so again I became more comfortable with walking around in that section of town, how it connected to the area of the morning tour, and how to get back to the hotel on my own. The hotel was very nice and clean, modern, and well kept. the staff really looked out for you, and if you looked lost they would ask if you needed help. There were snacks available at all times, and there was usually a pleasant surprise sent up to your room in the middle of the afternoon. The concierge were very helpful with restaurants, and when I missed another walking tour in a different section of the town because of a glitch in that company's email system, Miguel helped me get a refund. I loved the breakfast -- I knew it would not be a buffer, and I liked the idea of staying in one place and getting the service. I found the wait staff very attentive and quick to get you anything you needed. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the Corpo Santo Hotel, and would definitely stay again if I should visit Lisbon. • Klux2014 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Tour Travel and More provided a great tour in Germany There were 3 of us (3 generations) ages 9-71. Made arrangements with Tour Travel & More for private transportation from Frankfurt, Germany to Sinsheim, Germany with a tour of Rothenberg od Der Tauber on the way. It was a wonderful tour. Our guide Joachim was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. It was like traveling with a friend. Sebastian, our driver, was very polite and competent. Umbrellas and water were available. Vehicle was clean and had more than adequate room for us. Joachim gave us lots of info throughout the tour/day but not too much. He recommended a local restaurant in Rothenberg for our lunch and it was wonderful too. He also accompanied my grandson up in a tower to launch the paper airplane my grandson made during lunch. The tour kept us moving but did not feel rushed. I would not hesitate to use this company again. Read more Written April 9, 2024

We were picked up from our hotel in Madrid by our very competent and pleasant driver, Ruben, in a very comfortable electric Mercedes van. We first went to visit the scenic Consuegra windmills which are known from the adventures of Don Quixote. Then we went to the magical, medieval city of Toledo. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch and then our private tour guide, Luis, met us to begin a walking tour of many city sites. He was great! His knowledge of the history, cultures, physical geography, and shopping is perfect. What a great day. I highly recommend all the above experiences. Read more Written April 5, 2024

The weather in Segovia was very cold but we kept walking to stay warm. Both towns were worthy of visiting. Our only recommendation - do not have lunch at Meson de Candido. Lunch was not included but the operators thoughtfully made us reservations at this historic place. It is charming and the family was quite nice - perhaps enjoy a glass of wine there but eat elsewhere in Segovia. Facts about Timanfaya National Park

The park that we see nowadays was formed due to volcanic activity in the area and the largest eruptions date back to the year 1730 to 1736, which was a period of continued eruption that led to the landscape that we know today as Timanfaya National Park.

The park Timanfaya covers a great portion of Lanzarote as a whole, spread over 51,07 km²  in the southwest side of the island, in the municipalities of Yaiza and Tinajo.

There are over 25 volcanoes located inside the national park, but only one of them is still active: Timanfaya volcano, which is why the park was named after it.

visit timanfaya lanzarote

The volcanic landscape inside the national park is the main attraction and there are several ways to explore it.

The vast majority of the park can only be accessed by a bus tour, which takes you through the volcanoes in a guided tour that is available in various languages. There's also the possibility of exploring the park through guided walks on designated paths, but you need to book your spot ahead of time.

Inside the park, there's also a visitor's center where you can learn more information, a restaurant called El Diablo, an area for camel rides and a free car park where you can leave your car if you decide to drive here on your own.

So the main attractions in Timanfaya National Park are:

  • Timanfaya Visitor Center in Mancha Blanca - we recommend stopping here before going on the bus tour
  • Audio guided bus tour inside the Timanfaya National Park
  • El Diablo restaurant - how does it sound to try food that was cooked using the heat of an active volcano?
  • Guided walks , which must be booked way ahead of time
  • Camel rides - if you're interested, you can ride a camel and see a bit more of the volcanic landscape

There is also a viewing platform on-site, which gives you a hint of what you're about to see when you go inside the volcanic park Timanfaya.

bus tour timanfaya

From the Visitor Center you need to drive further along the road LZ-67, then turn onto LZ-602 when you see the symbol of El Diablo, which is the trademark for the park and was designed by none other than Cesar Manrique himself.

When you get to the car park you need to find a spot for the car and then wait for the next tour bus to leave.

Access to Timanfaya National Park is restricted in order to protect the landscape, so you can't drive around the park yourself and you can't go on foot either since it is strictly forbidden.

Once you get to the car park near El Diablo restaurant you need to wait to get on the next guided bus tour, with professional drivers from the park, who know the roads inside and out.

Even if you come with an excursion, you will need to change buses and go with one of the park's guided bus tours.

Tip for the bus tour inside Timanfaya National Park: if possible, try to sit on the opposite side from the driver on the bus. This side has slightly better views, but no matter where you stay don't worry since everyone stands up at the interesting bits in order to see the landscape on both sides.

The guided bus tour is available in several languages and it takes around 40 - 45 minutes.

The roads inside the park are narrow and windy, which may make some visitors scared and uncomfortable, but there is no need to worry, since the roads are only used by the park's buses, so there's no oncoming traffic.

Tips for the bus tour at Timanfaya National Park:

  • Where to sit on the bus: sit on the right side of the bus if possible
  • Tours take around 45 minutes for a complete route around the park
  • Visit the park early in the morning (between 9 am and 11 am) or after 3 pm in order to avoid queues if you visit by car
  • Buses stop at various points around the park for photos and for people to see the landscape on both side of the road.
  • You are not allowed to exit the bus during the tour, in order to preserve the park.
  • Since you'll only be able to take photos from inside the bus, your photos will have the reflection from the glass window.
  • You can still take some nice photos around the car park before or after going on the bus tour.

Steam geyser at Timanfaya National Park

geyser timanfaya lanzarote

Before or after the bus tour, make sure to ahead next to the restaurant El Diablo, where there's an employee of the park who pours water in order to demonstrate the high temperature of the volcanic, which forms a steam geyser when the cold water gets in contact with the hot volcanic soil.

el diablo restaurant volcano cooking timanfaya

This is the only restaurant in the area, so if you're hungry or you simply want to take a break and get a coffee, this is the only place where you can do that.

The main selling point of Restaurant El Diablo is the fact that they cook most of their meat on a grill which "uses" the heat coming from the volcano. So if you really want a unique experience when visiting Timanfaya National Park, give this restaurant a try. Food is nothing to write home about, but it's not bad either, albeit a bit more expensive, due to its exclusive location inside a national park. A once in a lifetime experience, which is worth it if you don't have very high expectations.

camel ride timanfaya national park lanzarote

There is the possibility of riding camels when coming to visit the national park Timanfaya.

Although this is not a tourist activity that we encourage, it is still a popular thing to do for many visitors to the park. It costs around €6 per person to ride a camel and the journey lasts around 20 minutes, while you get to see a bit more of the volcanic landscape.

Besides the bus visit, there's also the possibility of seeing a bit of the park by going on guided walks with one of the park's rangers.

  • READ MORE: Timanfaya National Park Walks

We have a dedicated article on the topic, where we explain what these routes and how you can book a spot to go on them. Just keep in mind that you need to book months ahead of time since there are very few spots available.

Honestly, for most people coming to Lanzarote, this is not a viable option for seeing Timanfaya National Park, since there are so few places available on these tours.

Also, due to the rugged landscape of the volcanic park, there aren't any places to hide from the sun along the way on these walks, so if you're visiting during the summer, for example, it will be extremely hot and hard to bear the sun and heat during the walk.

volcano timanfaya lanzarote

Is Timanfaya National Park worth it? And is it a good place to visit with kids?

In our opinion, YES it is very much worth a visit and depending on your child's age it will be an interesting place to see.

The landscape inside the park is truly unique and out of this world, formed only by volcanic rocks from the past eruptions, which give you a sense of how the Lanzarote we know today was formed.

Around the area there are several other places to explore if you want to know more about Lanzarote's fiery past:

  • Los Volcanes Natural Park
  • Los Hervideros
  • The lava fields between Los Hervideros and El Golfo
  • Beaches with black volcanic sand and volcanic rocks

One last suggestion for visitors: please don't take any volcanic rocks with you as souvenirs. Keep in mind that they were formed by volcanic eruptions hundreds of years ago and there's no way of creating new rocks, unless a new eruption occurs, which is not something anyone wishes to happen. So be considerate and admire the landscape, but leave it intact for future guests to enjoy it as well.

Visiting the Timanfaya National Park

January 15, 2019

When travellers ask about what they will find in Lanzarote , we tell them that here they will enjoy otherworldly beauty .

Lanzarote’s landscapes are as imposing as they are unique. Part of this charm is due to the Parque Nacional de Timanfaya, which is the only national park in the Spanish network that is of an eminently geological nature, since it is the result of the volcanic eruptions that took place between 1720 and 1736, and in 1824.

The absence of vegetation, the extreme ruggedness of the terrain, the variety of colours, the silhouettes of the volcanoes and the jagged coastline – all these make Timanfaya extraordinarily beautiful.

Visiting the park. What to do there.

There are various options for discovering and enjoying this protected space, uncovering its surprises little by little. Different facilities and infrastructures are located around the LZ-67, the road that connects the towns of Tinajo and Yaiza, and these are detailed below:

Visitor Centre

tour privado timanfaya

Before starting the visit, we advise you to check out the Visitor Centre located in Mancha Blanca, which gives free access to an exhibition and an audiovisual programme offering a complete overview of the Park in several languages.

The Centre is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has a shop/bookshop.

Montañas del Fuego (Mountains of Fire)

tour privado timanfaya

In the Montañas del Fuego, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of volcanoes. This area is accessed from Taro de Entrada (on the LZ-67) where the entrance fee is paid ( information on entrance fees ), the price of which includes parking, geothermal demonstrations and a tour of the Ruta de los Volcanes (Volcano Route) by guagua (bus) .

9.00 a.m. to 3.45 p.m.

recommended: 1.00 p.m.

Services and facilities:

  • El Diablo cafeteria-restaurant.
  • Tour by bus (included in the entrance price)

Camel Rides

tour privado timanfaya

Continuing on the LZ-67 in the direction of Yaiza, you will find the Echadero de Camellos. This is a place where you can go for a ride on a camel. The Echadero has a Museum – Information Point that offers an exhibition on the National Park, the traditional uses of camels and farming tools. It is accessible for people with reduced mobility. It is open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Ride on a camel. €12 per camel for 2 people.

Walking Routes

tour privado timanfaya

You can also enjoy this unique landscape on foot from the following trails:

  • Tremensana Route. This is a guided walk that covers some 2 km, and must be reserved in advance at the Mancha Blanca Visitor Centre. +34 928849839
  • Coastal Route. This can either be a guided walk reserved in advance like the previous route, or can be covered independently. The path goes through public land parallel to the coast.

** We recommend you to confirm the opening hours of the Visitor Center and Fire Mountains on the date of your visit, on the official websites, since these may be affected depending on the restrictions of access or season.

Look out for:

Lichens. These are unique protagonists in the inhospitable volcanic surface where they survive under the battering of the Trade Winds.

Volcanic cones. The most iconic are: Montaña de Timanfaya, Montaña Rajada, Caldera del Corazoncillo, Volcán Nuevo del Fuego or El Chinero and the Calderas Quemadas.

Inside the boundaries of the Park is one of the stations of the Laboratorio Geodinámico de Lanzarote, Lanzarote’s Geodynamics Lab.

The tourist facilities designed by César Manrique are a delight to the eye of the visitor.

The vestiges of the past make themselves felt today through the temperatures that reach 100-120ºC in the ground.

Advice and Safety

Visiting the Park requires respect for the peace and tranquility and the conservation of the environment. For this reason it is important not to disturb the animals , and also pulling up, gathering or extracting plants and minerals is forbidden, as well as altering any other natural element.

We would be grateful if, as far as possible, you could return waste to the populated areas , thus limiting the use of bins, and never leave or throw waste outside the collection areas.

Likewise, you cannot drive vehicles outside the asphalted areas open to the public . It is not possible to walk over the lava or on other volcanic material.

We would be grateful if between us all we could contribute to preserving this unique environment.

How to Visit Timanfaya National Park, Lanzarote

When traveling abroad, get a policy from one of the  best travel insurance companies . Y ou can get a  5% discount   on Heymondo , the only insurance that pays medical bills upfront for you, HERE!

Timanfaya National Park is one of the top attractions in the Canary Islands thanks to its volcanic landscape of calderas and geothermal activity. Located in the southwestern part of Lanzarote, this protected area spans nearly 20 square miles and has 25 volcanoes, including the famous Montañas de Fuego , one of the most active volcanoes in Lanzarote .

As you walk through the park, you’ll be amazed by its spectacular scenery of black, red, and ochre lava fields, which create an otherworldly sight. As you can imagine, visiting Timanfaya National Park is one of the best things to do in Lanzarote , so I highly recommend it.

Timanfaya, timanfaya national park walking tour

A bit of history: the park’s largest eruption took place in 1730, completely transforming the island of Lanzarote. In total, nine towns were buried under molten lava, and residents were forced to evacuate. The eruption also created new volcanoes and brought lava to the sea’s surface. The most recent eruption was in 1824, and a year later, Timanfaya was declared a National Park.

If you want to see this incredible landmark, keep reading to learn how to visit Timanfaya National Park , what to see, and other tips.

Things to do in Timanfaya National Park

Timanfaya is one of the most important national parks in Spain , so you won’t run out of things to do here. Below are my top recommendations that you can’t miss.

1. Timanfaya Route of the Volcanoes bus tour

The Route of the Volcanoes is the most popular bus tour in Timanfaya National Park . Travel by bus (or guagua , as the Canarians say) and enjoy striking views of the park’s volcanic landscape. The tour departs from the Islet Hilario Visitor Center every 15 minutes and goes past volcanic craters, lava fields, and mountains covered in volcanic ash.

The route is about nine miles and takes 30 minutes to complete. Along the way, there are about five stops where you can get panoramic views of the Montaña Rajada, the Corazoncillo caldera, and the Nuevo del Fuego volcanic vent. Moreover, this Timanfaya National Park bus tour includes narration about the history of the park and other interesting facts.

Timanfaya Route of the Volcanoes, can you drive to timanfaya national park

Keep in mind that the only way to explore this area is by bus since walking on the volcanic land is not permitted . Not only does this preserve Timanfaya’s incredible landscape, but it’s also a safety measure since the soil is still hot.

After the bus tour, you can check out the geothermal demonstrations, such as watching wood burst into flames after touching stones from the soil and guides cooking outdoors by using the volcanic conditions. Another demonstration involves guides pouring water into some holes in the ground only to have it shoot into the air like a geyser.

2. See Timanfaya’s “El Diablo” statue

The famed statue, El Diablo de Timanfaya , is an undeniable symbol of Lanzarote’s Fire Mountains , and many inhabitants consider it a national symbol.

This statue depicts a little devil figure holding a five-pronged pitchfork and was designed by famed Lanzarote artist César Manrique , who often promoted the environmental value of the Canary Islands through his work.

El Diablo statue, timanfaya national park guided

El Diablo ’s origin stems from an old local legend that tells the story of a large wedding that was interrupted by volcanic eruptions. Stones and lava were flying everywhere, and suddenly, the groom realized that his bride had been crushed by the debris. As he rushed to lift the rock with a pitchfork, onlookers lamented that it was too late, saying “poor devil.”

3. See the camels at Timanfaya

A common thing to do at Timanfaya National Park is to take a camel ride . However, we decided not to do this activity since we avoid attractions that exploit animals. Even so, I recognize that this is a popular guided tour in Timanfaya , so if you go to the dromedary station, you can take a 20-minute ride on one of the camels. The camels walk along the side of the mountain and the ride costs €10.

Timanfaya dromedary station, timanfaya national park opening hours

That said, you can enjoy everything that Timanfaya has to offer and fully experience this Lanzarote park without climbing onto a camel.

4. El Diablo restaurant at Timanfaya National Park

Restaurante El Diablo is one of the most unique places to eat, not only in Lanzarote but anywhere. At this restaurant at Timanfaya National Park , you can eat dishes cooked geothermally, and visitors from all over come here to witness these intriguing cooking methods.

El Diablo restaurant, lanzarote volcano hike

The restaurant’s outdoor barbecue pits reach temperatures over 570°F, using heat from the center of the earth. Besides the tasty meals you can order here, there are other facilities and services, including a viewpoint and gift shop.

5. Timanfaya Visitor Center & Interpretation Center

The Timanfaya Visitor Center is a must-see during your trip to this Lanzarote park . Here, you can learn more about the geological and morphological history of Timanfaya ’s stunning landscapes.

I suggest taking advantage of the visitor center’s exhibits, which detail the formation of Timanfaya’s volcanoes . There are also several viewpoints where you can get beautiful photos of Timanfaya National Park .

Timanfaya Visitor Center & Interpretation Center, parque nacional timanfaya

That said, the best part of the Visitor and Interpretation Center is the volcanic eruption simulator, which takes place every hour. The simulation is accompanied by narration from a professional guide, who can also answer your questions.

The Timanfaya Visitor Center and Interpretation Center is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

6. Tremesana Route, a guided tour through Timanfaya

The Tremesana Route is a trail of nearly two miles that goes through a restricted area of Timanfaya . If you take this route, you can appreciate a variety of volcanic structures and basaltic reliefs, as well as environmental changes made by the inhabitants of Lanzarote, in an effort to cultivate and preserve the land.

Tremesana Route, how to visit timanfaya national park

This Lanzarote volcano hike takes about three hours, and at times feels like you’re walking on an alien planet. Be aware that you can’t do the Tremesana Route on your own, so if you want to experience it, be sure to reserve your spot in advance. It’s a free, but it’s one of the more spectacular hikes in Lanzarote , so try to book it at least a month before your trip.

7. The Timanfaya Coastal Route, a walking tour through Timanfaya National Park

Timanfaya’s Coastal Route is another hike in Timanfaya National Park , one that you can do on your own or with a guide. We decided to book the guided tour so we could learn more about the landscape. We absolutely loved it, plus it was free!

Timanfaya Coastal Route, montanas del fuego lanzarote

During the tour, we got to see a wonderful panorama of the Route of the Volcanoes in Timanfaya as well as the rock formations along the coast. The same lava structures along the coast are also found in the park’s soil and in the sea.

If you’d like to do this 1.5-mile hike on your own, you should know that it starts in the town of El Golfo . It’s a slightly more challenging hike than the Tremesana Route and takes about three hours to complete.

Timanfaya National Park entrance fee & hours

The entrance fee to Timanfaya National Park is €12 for adults and €6 for children under 12. You can pay for your tickets in cash at the ticket office or pay online through this website . Your Timanfaya National Park ticket includes the bus tour, parking, and access to the Visitor Center & Interpretation Center.

Montañas de Fuego, how to get to timanfaya national park

If you’re traveling around Lanzarote and plan on visiting several attractions on the island, consider buying a tourist pass to save money. There are passes for 3, 4, 5, or 6 attractions, which you can buy at the Cueva de los Verdes , at MIAC – Castillo de San José , the Cactus Garden , the Jameos del Agua , the Mirador del Río , or Timanfaya’s Monta ñas del Fuego .

There are also different ticket combinations, which you can see here .

Timanfaya ’s ticket office is open from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, with the last Route of the Volcanoes bus tour departing at 4 pm.

How to get to Timanfaya National Park

The easiest way to visit Timanfaya National Park is by renting a car in Lanzarote . You can check prices here . Getting to the park is simple since there is only one road leading there, the LZ-67 . From here, take the exit to the Islet Hilario Visitor Center , which is the main entrance where you can see Lanzarote’s Fire Mountains .

Timanfaya, timanfaya national park lanzarote

As soon as you take the exit, you’ll see the access point , which is where you can buy your ticket or present your Lanzarote tourist pass.

If you’d rather not drive, you can always book a private transfer , which is super convenient. In addition, excursions to Timanfaya National Park depart from different locations in Lanzarote, so this is another option if you don’t want to drive.

Excursions to Timanfaya National Park

If you prefer to book a tour to Timanfaya National Park , there are different options to choose from. For example, this tour leaves from Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda, Puerto del Carmen, Puerto Calero, or Playa Blanca. It’ll take you to the national park so you can do the Route of the Volcanoes through the Fire Mountains , plus you’ll visit the Cueva de los Verdes and the Jameos del Agua .

Timanfaya, montañas del fuego timanfaya

If you love to hike, I recommend this excursion , one of the best tours in Lanzarote , which departs from Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca, or Puerto del Carmen. During the tour, which is led by a hiking guide, you’ll see the most impressive landscapes of Timanfaya National Park .

For more tour options, I recommend reading our guide on the best Lanzarote volcano tours through Timanfaya .

Other tips for visiting Timanfaya National Park

Below, I’ll give you some tips based on my experience so you can have the best visit to Timanfaya on your own:

Recommendations:

As you can imagine, throughout the day we will pass through a variety of landscapes and places, so we recommend wearing sturdy close-toed shoes, and although it may be hot, bring some sort of jacket if it is not summer.

What time is pick-up and drop-off? Upon reservation, you’ll find the exact information about the closest pick-up point and time to your accommodation. In any case, you can find the approximate pick-up and return times here from the various tourist areas:

*Return times are approximate under normal conditions.

What recommendations should I consider for this tour? We recommend wearing closed shoes and clothing based on the time of the year, but always bring a hat, in case it’s too sunny, and a jacket in case the temperature changes in some areas.

We also recommend taking precautions against dizziness since the road is very curvy and some people, by not being used to it, can get dizzy on the road.

How much will it be between being picked up and when the tour starts? Faced with the option of creating a single meeting point for our convenience or of defining several collection points so you can be picked up at your accommodation or close to it, we have chosen to offer the second option for your convenience. The service is slower, but it will be much more comfortable.

It should be considered that the areas further away from the starting point of the tour are normally the first pick-up areas and the last ones to be dropped off.

Can the described route vary? On special occasions the routes may vary. Due to road closures and other types of force majeure situations, the itinerary may be modified. In these cases, we’ll try to inform you as far in advance as possible.

How will I know that the reservation was made correctly? At the end of the reservation, a locator or reservation number will appear and, in less than 5 minutes, you should receive the booking voucher in your email inbox.

What happens if I have not received the reservation voucher? If you haven’t received an email in your inbox, follow this procedure:

  • Check your spam or junk mailbox.
  • Contact us.

How long in advance should we book? We always recommend booking as far in advance as possible since places are limited, and you could miss out on the excursion.

What happens if, when booking, there are no more places for the day I want to go on the excursion? If you notice that you’re trying to book in a day shaded orange, that’s because there are no more places left. Try to book for another day or click on that day and fill in the form to add yourself to our waiting list in case there’s a cancellation. In more than 50% of the cases we usually find a solution.

How many stops does the tour make? We make quite a few stops to see the places we’ve planned to visit and others to go to the bathroom from time to time.

How will the babies go on the bus? Babies don’t have to pay for this excursion and will go on their parents’ lap.

Timanfaya

I have not had the opportunity to compare prices with other tours, but it doesn’t seem at all expensive to me for the treatment and service received.

Grand tour to Timanfaya National Park, Green Lagoon, Jameos del Agua and la Geria

Many thanks to the company. They were great. We will recommend them to anyone we can.

Unbeatable. The green lake is out of this world, unbelievable that I was there. Same with Jameos del Agua and the other areas we visited. I will never forget it!

A great way to tour the island if you are going for the first time. For me it was the second, but I was accompanied by my son who had never been. He ended up very happy.

I think it’s the best if you are in Lanzarote for a short amount of time. In just one day practically everything can be seen, or more or less the most characteristic of the island.

Couldn’t be more complete. Perhaps the bad thing is that it’s a little bit rushed and you run around taking photos and not much else. It’s great for people who are on the island for just a day or two.

I would have preferred taking the time spent on the camel ride to keep enjoying other views. The time was adjusted somewhat and the guide hurried us along a couple times when we were taking photos.

It had been recommended to us and we loved it. The only thing that would have been nice is if the artisanal market in Teguise had been open, but we could not make it on the day that it was.

Totally happy with these people. My partner and I did the route together and I think that we will hire their services again for other areas that we want to enjoy on the island.

The camel ride was very fun, as was the final show at Timanfaya Park. I recommend it.

Keep in mind that when you arrive at Jameos, you have to choose or enter there or at the Verdes cave, one or the other. I chose Jameos because I already knew what I would see more or less but it’s a shame to not be able to visit the cave and learn more about it.

The buses were modern and comfortable. The island was lovely, with charming and very characterful places. I would do it again in a few years when I return.

It’s amazing, the entire island is surrounded by white houses and palm trees on all sides. I enjoyed seeing the scenery both on foot and by bus. There is never a moment when you lose view of the sea.

If it’s not the most complete tour, it has to be one of the most complete. We toured the most emblematic places around the entire island. It’s difficult to find a trip of this kind that is so good and full of things to see.

Pick-up was on time and the Schedule fulfilled my expectations. The tour was fantastic. What would be better is if lunch had been included, plus the wine tasting was just okay and the samples were very small.

A short but unforgettable holiday. It’s the first time that I’ve visited Lanzarote and I will definitely return. I was there for just a few days but it was very nice to visit the important places and to get a general overview of Lanzarote.

The area of the park that’s full of volcanoes and craters was really impressive. It looked nothing like I had expected a volcanic island to look like.

Very good guide throughout the journey and excellent quality for the price. Thank you.

Low Cost tours are great. I have never been to a more amazing island.

I was very impressed by Jameos del Agua, much better in person than in photos.

I consider this a very thorough tour. It’s definitely worth it for the visit to Jameos and to Timanfaya Park. In the next few days I’m staying only to spend time on the north island, which they say is spectacular.

Description of this tour

This excursion has been designed to know the work of César Manrique in Lanzarote: Timanfaya National Park, the Farmer's Monument, the Cactus Garden, Cesar Manrique Foundation, Mirador del Río and Jameos del Agua.

"For me it was the most beautiful place on earth and I realized that if they could see the island through my eyes, then they would think the same as I. Since then I set out to show the beauty of Lanzarote to the world." (César Manrique).

We start at the Islet of Hilario in the National Park of Timanfaya, where with 3 experiments you can see the high temperatures that still are recorded in shallow depth due to the geothermal anomalies of the zone. You can see how the heat of the earth is used to cook the food and also enjoy the views from the windows of the restaurant El Diablo, by César Manrique. It will be from the Islet of Hilario, from where we will leave by bus to make the impressive route of the Volcanoes through the most protected area of the national park.

We head to the geographical centre of Lanzarote to make a photographic stop at the Monumento del Campesino, a building of the eighteenth century restored by César Manrique where we can see the elements of traditional architecture. In front of the Monument is the Sculpture to Fertility, 15 meters high, which pays homage to the farmers of Lanzarote.

"Half the beauty depends on the landscape and the other half of the man who looks at it" (Lin Yutanq)

From the Monument, we continue to Tahiche to visit the César Manrique´s Foundation, home of the artist until 1988. Then we continue along the east coast to enjoy the visit of a Cactus Garden, the last work of Manrique where there are more than 1000 specimens, located in the town of Guatiza, famous for the  cultivation of cochineal.

Already in the north, we visit Jameos del Agua, considered the most impressive work of César Manrique.

The excursion ends with a visit to the Mirador del Río from where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas of La Graciosa and the Chinijo Archipelago, the small islets in the north of Lanzarote.
