Nelly in Concert Ranked as the fourth best-selling rap artist of all time by the Recording Industry of America, Nelly has become a symbol of rap's crossover success in mainstream pop music. With over 21 million albums sold in the US alone, his pop-infused hip hop and unique vocal delivery have earned him six Top 10 albums and made him a live concert favorite. His seventh studio album, 2012's M.O., features hit singles "Hey Porsche" and "Get Like Me," a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Pharrell. Born Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr. in 1974, Nelly got his first taste of musical success with the St. Louis hip hop collective St. Lunatics. In 2000, he launched his solo career with No. 1 debut album Country Grammar, which showcased his signature Southern drawl mixed with a Midwestern twang. 2002 follow-up Nellyville also peaked at No. 1 and included the international smash " Hot in Herre," which earned him a Grammy in 2003 for Best Male Rap Solo Performance. On 2013's M.O. tour, Nelly treated ticket buyers to his greatest hits, earning rave reviews for his upbeat stage presence and charismatic performances.

Music icons Nelly, TLC, and Flo Rida announced they are hitting the road together for an epic tour across North America. The Billboard chart-topping hitmakers join forces to bring a show like no other to outdoor amphitheater stages all summer long in 2019. I love nelly.

Great performance as always this is my 4th time seeing him live. He never disappoints. I’ve been a fan since 12 when country grammar was released. I love his diversity in the music industry. HE’S MY FAVORITE ARTIST!! Over 20 years a fan and I’m not going anywhere. I love you NELLY!! His loyalty to CITY SPUD is amazing. Keep doing yall thing and I’ll continue to support. HEARTLAND!!!!!

Waist of $$$ & time!

Not only the fact that we had to sit and wait for almost 45 minutes between acts with nothing, nobody telling us how long we are gonna be sitting there waiting with nothing happening. I had to use the bathroom, but didn’t want to get up because I didn’t know when the concert was gonna start back up. Seats are way too close to each other. There are people literally sitting on top of my lap. There was a lot of downtime a lot of NOTHING. This was not a concert. It was like a hangout or something. It was NOT fun or even a good time. I paid for two of my friends to come with me , One of them traveling all the way from Detroit, Michigan, and another traveling to Knoxville from Nashville. One of them left halfway through it because it was just ridiculous and the other one left before the concert was over as well. This was the biggest WAIST or money & our time!

Smooth entrance, good concert, will pay for the 2 again.

I really enjoyed the show. Nelly was great! He perform all of his amazing hits and he really got the crowd involved with his music. I would definitely recommend his show to others.

Great concert for the wifey

My wife loved it for mother's Day present. Ti was good and Nelly

I always love Nelly

I have no complaints, the show was great! This was my 3rd time seeing Nelly, he was Great.

Had the BEST TIME. LOVED THE CONCERT. I danced the entire concert and the crowd went wild. Hope he return back again.

He still got it.

Amazing show. He still got it. I'll get his new Heartland CD.

Concert at The Los Angeles County Fair

T.I. and Nelly put on a good show. I just thought personally the sound system wasn't to clear and both would have been better of with a live band to back them both up! More production Pop!! Nelly needed choreography dancers in his show!! Similar to the videos he use to do!!

T.I. Killed it!!!

T.I. was on fire, however I wasn’t very much into Nelly and the country western songs. The Heartland album isn’t music I’m too fond of. IJS…

The VIP was horrible, the tables were all the way in the back couldn't even see the stage so it kind of sucked to spend that much money on a show yet the people who got in free were right up front to the stage. The servers brought us our bottle but then that was it they were too busy making twerking videos of each other instead of asking if we needed anything, they never came back to our table after bringing us the bottle. It was not a good "vip" experience at all I would of rather saved my money and did the free admission. Nelly was late he came a little after 1am and only performed about four songs but not all the way through, it was more of a night club with the DJ than a performance which sucks because I've been a huge Nelly fan since I was 13 so for 17 years and was looking forward to this show, the overall experience was disappointing.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! After 3 hours of watching music videos (don't get me wrong, watching 90s hip hop vids really got us into the mood for Nelly - but 3 hours!?) he finally came on stage at 12:40 am on a Thursday night. To our horror, he didn't sing full songs and his hits were remixed with different background tracks. I would say most people at this concert were in their 30s and 40s (teenagers in the 90s)and came to hear the songs of our glory days. Most also had to work the next day. We left after about 4 songs, the sound was terrible which was surprising because they had over 3 hours to get it right.

When Nelly came out, I had to leave. I am a conservative country music fan of Flordia Georgia Line and Nelly's show was the most inappropriate show I have ever seen. I went for Flordia Georgia Line and was excited for Nelly. Sadly, the girls he had dancing were barely dressed and were dancing in a very inappropriate manner. Everything in my soul told me that I needed to leave the show while he preformed. This was a huge let down because I had bought very expensive seats. This was a very disapointing experience for me. I saw mothers with children leaving the same time I left. I would never come see Nelly or a similar artist in Wheatland again. I wish I was notified that Nelly was going to have suggestive and degrading dancers . Please keep your shows for the whole family.

Janet Jackson has upgraded her 2023 “ Together Again ” concert tour by simultaneously announcing the addition of a summer leg and Nelly as a special guest.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will embark on a 35-date run across the United States nearly one year after announcing her highly anticipated return to the road with her ninth concert tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 2023 tour was the highest selling jaunt of Jackson’s career and featured 36 sold out shows.

Popular on Variety

The “Together Again” tour is in celebration of Jackson’s 50th anniversary in entertainment and honors the milestones for three of her most critically acclaimed albums: recognizing 25 years of “The Velvet Rope,” 30 years of “janet,” and 35 years of “Rhythm Nation.” Nelly will serve as support, showcasing his greatest hits spanning the last two decades.

Tickets will be available with presales that start Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale on Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com.

Nelly Korda wins Mizuho Americas Open, captures sixth title in last 7 LPGA Tour starts

JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY - MAY 19: Nelly Korda of the United States plays her shot from the fourth tee during the final round of the Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National Golf Club on May 19, 2024 in Jersey City, New Jersey. (Photo by Sarah Stier/Getty Images)

Nelly Korda’s run of dominance continues. After Rose Zhang ended Korda’s streak of consecutive LPGA tournament titles at five last week, Korda rebounded this week to win the Mizuho Americas Open at Liberty National on Sunday and capture her sixth win in her last seven starts.

With the victory, the 25-year-old from Bradenton, Fla., became the first player to win six or more tournaments in a season since South Korea’s Inbee Park in 2013. She’s the eighth player since 1980 to accomplish the feat, joining Betsy King, Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb, Lorena Ochoa, Beth Daniel, Yani Tseng and Park.

On Sunday, it came down to the last hole. Korda, the current top-ranked women’s player, entered the final round with a two-shot lead over Australia’s Hannah Green. After a rocky front nine, in which she bogeyed three times, Korda birdied the 10th, 13th and 15th holes. Green’s scorecard matched on those holes, and the two entered the 18th tied at 14-under, but a final bogey ultimately sunk Green as Korda finished the round with a one-stroke lead at 1-under 71.

After carding a 2-under 70 in the opening round, Korda improved in Rounds 2 and 3, with a 4-under 68 and 7-under 65, respectively. Her 65 on Saturday tied her lowest round of the season — the final day at the Ford Championship, which she won in March.

Sunday’s victory is just the latest in what has been a remarkable 2024 campaign for Korda, who is now the first American woman to win six or more times in a season since Daniel won seven titles in 1990. Korda scored her fifth straight tournament win at the Chevron Championship last month, joining Nancy Lopez (1978) and Sorenstam (2004, 2005) as the only players to go five-for-five on the LPGA.

Zhang — the 20-year-old Californian — snapped Korda’s run with a win last Sunday at the Cognizant Founders Cup, recording a two-shot victory over Sweden’s Madelene Sagström (Korda finished the event tied for seventh). There was much hype surrounding Zhang, who won last year’s Mizuho Americas Open in her pro debut, entering this year’s tournament, but she withdrew due to an illness after completing three holes Thursday.

“I was really looking forward to trying to defend my title, but unfortunately spent the last 12 hours with really bad intestinal pain,” Zhang wrote on her Instagram story.

Zhang was among 10 players who withdrew from the event in the first two days, with seven of those withdrawals due to various illnesses and the others due to injuries, according to the LPGA.

As for Korda, she managed to avoid those setbacks en route to her 14th LPGA Tour win Sunday, as she continued to show why she’s the golfer to beat.

Nelly released without charges after rape arrest; rapper will miss Saturday concert

nelly tour manager

Rapper Nelly has been booked and released without being charged following his rape arrest in Auburn, Wash., his lawyer and manager tell USA TODAY.

In an email, manager Juliette Harris said he will not make Saturday's scheduled tour stop in Ridgefield, Wash., where he was due to play a show with country duo Florida Georgia Line.

Auburn police spokesman Commander Steve Stocker confirmed to the Associated Press that Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., was booked Saturday morning after being arrested at about 4:37 a.m. in his tour bus at a Walmart.

According to the jail's inmate database, he was arrested on suspicion of  second-degree rape , indicating force was used or the victim was incapable of consent due to being physically helpless, mentally incapacitated or developmentally disabled.

At 12:23 a.m. Saturday, between the show and his arrest, he tweeted , “its (sic) really you against the whole world because the whole world don’t know you exist.”

In an email, attorney Scott Rosenblum told USA TODAY, "Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation."

Nelly, 42, is a three-time Grammy winner, including for the song Hot in Herre , which won the best male rap solo performance award in 2002.

The following year, he shared a Grammy for the song Shake Ya Tailfeather  with Murphy Lee and Sean Combs.

He is also known for the hits My Place  and Over and Over.  He appeared in the 2005 film The Longest Yard.

Nelly Korda Wins LPGA Drive On Championship with Qi10 Max Driver and TP5x Golf Ball; Her Ninth Career LPGA Tour Win

INSIDE THE FIT: NELLY KORDA'S Qi10 MAX DRIVER

g i 1968233021

“The reason why I picked the Qi10 Max driver is the look of it compared to the other models. When I put it down and look at it I feel like I can hit any shot I want with the subtle blue face and silver topline. When I look down at it I feel like I can aim it realy well and I know where the center of the clubface too. For a golfer, if you don’t like the look of the club, you’re never going to be able to it hit. Once I put the Qi10 Max down and teed it up, I feel like I could hit any shot I wanted to.” Nelly Korda
“As we look to create new shapes in our driver heads, we found something with the shape of the Qi10 Max that was a little deeper front to back and a slightly more heelward center of gravity. She instantly set that club down and loved the way it looked. Nelly was able to start the ball on her intended line and loved seeing the ball fall left and be able to move it how she wanted in addition to hitting different flights and windows. She also notices on mis-hits that the spin stays really consistent. The window it takes off on is great and the shot shape is very repeatable for her.” Ryan Ressa, TaylorMade Senior Tour Manager

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Nelly Korda won a back nine showdown with Hannah Green of Australia with a par on the 18th hole to capture the Mizuho Americas Open by a stroke Sunday for her sixth win in seven starts on the LPGA Tour this year.

The victory made the 25-year-old American the first player since Inbee Park (2013) to record six wins in a single season.

"Oh, my gosh, six," Korda said. "I can't even really gather myself right now with that, the head to head that Hannah and I had pretty much all day. Wasn't my best stuff out there today, but fought really hard on the back nine."

"It was just amazing to share the stage with Hannah."

Korda also bounced back from seeing her record-tying five-tournament winning streak snapped last week by Rose Zhang at the Cognizant Founders Cup. Zhang withdrew Thursday after three holes with an intestinal issue.

After playing the front nine in 2-over, Korda matched birdies with Green on the 10th, 13th and 15th holes at scenic Liberty National to stay tied with Green, whose two wins this year made her the only other multiple winner on tour this year.

Korda, the third-round leader by two shots, shot a final-round 71 and finished at 14-under 274. Green had a 70 and finished at 275.

After Korda put her drive in the fairway on the the par-4, No. 18, Green pulled her drive into the left rough. Her second to the green was short and left and still in the rough. After Korda hit her approach to 15 feet from the hole, Green's chip over a bunker landed 10 feet in front of the hole and then rolled back a little.

Korda putted to tap-in range and finished out, while Green's putt to extend the tournament to a playoff never touched the hole.

Korda then raised her hands and accepted the cheers from the crowd in this event held with a view of the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty in the background.

Jennifer Kupcho, who lost this event in a playoff with Zhang last year, finished tied for third with rookie Gabriela Ruffels of Australia and Ariya Jutanugarn and Chanettee Wannasaen, both of Thailand.

Playing hours before the leaders teed off, Wannasaen had the best round of the day with a 7-under 65. Jutanugarn had a 70, Kupcho shot 71 and Ruffels had a 72 in finishing third for the second straight week.

After being tied for the lead by Ayaka Furue of Japan and Kupcho with nine holes to play, Korda and Green turned the tournament into a two-player race with their matching birdies to open a four-shot lead over the rest of the field. When one hit it close, the other followed.

Furue finished in a large group at 9-under.

The win was the 14th for Korda and she joined a list of players who have won six times in a year since 1980: Betsy King (1989), Annika Sorenstam (1997, 2003), Karrie Webb (1999, 2000), Lorena Ochoa (2006, 2008), Park, Beth Daniel (1990) and Yani Tseng (2011).

Korda earned $450,000, bringing her career earnings to $11,880,981 and her season earnings to $2,943,708.

LPGA Tour: Nelly Korda claims sixth win in seven starts with one-shot victory at Mizuho Americas Open

Nelly Korda held off Hannah Green at the Mizuho Americas Open to claim her sixth win in her last seven starts on the LPGA Tour.

The world No 1, who had claimed five consecutive victories before last week's Cognizant Founders Cup, becomes the first player since Inbee Park in 2013 to win six times in a season.

Korda carded a one-under 71 on the final day at Liberty National Golf Club to finish on 14 under and a shot clear of Green, who bogeyed the final hole when needing a par to force a play-off.

How Korda continued winning streak

Korda went into the day two strokes ahead but was level at the turn after a front-nine 38, then matched Green's birdies at the tenth, 13th and 15th to leave the pair locked at 14 under with three holes to go.

Green pulled her tee shot at the last into the left rough and sent her approach into a greenside bunker, then failed to get up and down from the sand to card a closing bogey and leave Korda's tap-in par enough for the win.

"To lose to Nelly - it's sad, but then it's also Nelly Korda," Green said. "You know, she's obviously so dominant right now. To feel like second behind her is quite nice. Unfortunately the bogey on the last has a little bit of a sour taste, but I still competed out there when I didn't really think I was in it at all."

Thitikul leads LPGA's Mizuho Americas Open; Korda 3 back

  • Associated Press

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Rising star Atthaya Thitikul birdied five of the final seven holes in a round of 7-under 65 to grab the halfway lead in the Mizuho Americas Open on Friday, with top-ranked Nelly Korda in contention one week after having her LPGA record-tying five tournament winning streak halted.

Thitikul, who is playing in her third event this year because of an injury to her left thumb, had a bogey-free round at Liberty National while playing in a group that included Korda and Ayaka Furue of Japan.

The 21-year-old from Thailand, who was last year's winner of the Rolex Vare Award for lowest scoring average, was two shots ahead of first-round leader So Mi Lee of South Korea and three in front of Korda, Mao Saigo of Japan, fellow Thai player Ariya Jutanugarn and rookie Gabriela Ruffels of Australia.

Another large group was four shots back, including Jutanugarn's sister, Moriya. Americans Andrea Lee and Megan Khang and Furue also were at 5 under in the event that lost defending champion Rose Zhang after three holes to an intestinal problem.

"When I can came here, play in Chevron, be able to play golf again, it's like -- it's just like click, and change my mind," Thitikul said. "Just be able to play golf it's good enough for me. It's just go enjoy. Just do the best that you can do out there."

Thitikul, who has two career LPGA wins in 2022 and already pocketed $3.85 million in career earnings, finished 12th in the Chevron and missed the cut by a stroke in the Cognizant Founders Cup last week.

She switched putters this week, and it clicked in the second round. It could have been better too. A long birdie putt at No. 18 lipped out.

"I played with Atthaya today, and my round felt like poop compared to hers," said Korda, who shot a 68, two shots better than her opening round. "She's playing phenomenal golf the past two days. I'm happy to be in it, three back at the halfway point, but hopefully I can give it my best."

In her recent winning streak that Zhang snapped last week, Korda trailed by five shots at the Seri Pak Championship, by four at the Ford Championship and by six in the T-Mobile Match Play, where the field was cut after the third round. She won them all.

"If you're not hitting it well and not giving yourself chances, you're never going to capitalize on this," Korda said. "Hopefully everything is flowing for me. Going to go practice a little now after my round and try to get things a little bit more dialed in for the weekend."

Lee (66) and Saigo (68) were Thursday additions to the field because of late withdrawals. They found themselves at the top of the leaderboard after 18 and were still there Friday. Lee had a 71, one shot more than Saigo.

The most interesting part of Lee's round was a change of caddies. After attending his son's graduation from elementary school in Orlando, Florida, regular caddie Andrew Tomasi arrived late Thursday and took over the bag from Lee's father, Tohyeun.

Lee, a five-time winner on the Korean LPGA, laughed when asked if she fired her father.

"My father said: 'It's over. My first and my last. My last caddie ever,'" Lee said in comments translated by her manager. "He was very tired."

Nelly Korda wins showdown with Hannah Green, earns sixth title of LPGA season

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — With her record-tying winning streak over, Nelly Korda got back to doing what she does best — winning.

Nelly Korda won a back-nine showdown with Hannah Green of Australia with a par on the 18th hole to capture the Mizuho Americas Open by a stroke Sunday for her sixth win in seven starts on the LPGA Tour this year.

“Oh, my gosh, six,” Korda said. “I can’t even really gather myself right now with that, the head-to-head that Hannah and I had pretty much all day. Wasn’t my best stuff out there today, but fought really hard on the back nine.”

“It was just amazing to share the stage with Hannah.”

The victory made the 25-year-old American only the fourth player on tour to win six times before June 1, joining LPGA Hall of Famers Babe Zaharias (1951), Louise Suggs (1953) and Lorena Ochoa (2008). She also is the first player since Inbee Park (2013) to record six wins in a single season.

The LPGA record for wins in a season is 13 by Mickey Wright in 1963.

Korda’s 14th career victory came a week after her record-tying five-tournament winning streak was snapped by Rose Zhang at the Cognizant Founders Cup. Zhang withdrew Thursday after three holes with an intestinal issue.

After playing the front nine in 2 over and getting a motivational nudge from caddie Jason McDede, Korda matched birdies with Green on the 10th, 13th and 15th holes at scenic Liberty National to stay tied for the lead at 14 under. The pairing matched the tour’s only two multiple winners this year.

Korda, the third-round leader by two shots, shot a final-round 71 and finished at 14-under 274. Green, who was looking for her third win, had a 70 and finished at 275.

“I mean, there is something special about the grind of not having your best stuff and then still mentally being able to pull it off,” Korda said.

After Korda put her drive in the fairway on the the par-4 No. 18, Green pulled her drive into the left rough. Her second to the green was short and left and still in the rough. After Korda hit her approach to 15 feet from the hole, Green’s chip over a bunker landed 10 feet in front of the hole and then rolled back a little.

Korda putted to tap-in range and finished out, while Green’s putt to extend the tournament to a playoff never touched the hole.

Korda then raised her hands and accepted the cheers from the crowd in this event held with a view of the New York City skyline and Statue of Liberty in the background.

“I mean, to lose to Nelly kind of like is — it’s sad, but then it’s also Nelly Korda,” Green said. “You know, like she’s obviously so dominant right now. To feel like second behind her is quite nice. Unfortunately the bogey on the last has a little bit of a sour taste.”

Furue finished in a large group at 9 under.

Korda is the eighth player to win six times in a year since 1980. The others are Betsy King (1989), Annika Sorenstam (1997, 2003), Karrie Webb (1999, 2000), Lorena Ochoa (2006, 2008), Park, Beth Daniel (1990) and Yani Tseng (2011).

Korda earned $450,000, bringing her career earnings to $11,880,981 and her season earnings to $2,943,708.

The tour has a week off and then heads to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for the U.S. Women’s Open. Korda has dreamed of winning the title, but has not yet done it.

“Obviously it’s on the top of my priority list,” she said. “I just know there is never any good when you put more pressure on yourself. Just going to stay in my bubble that week and take it a shot at a time.”

If she does, maybe No. 7 is not too far away.

It didn’t take Nelly Korda long to put another tournament within her grasp.

Korda shot a 7-under 65 Saturday and will take a two-stroke lead over Hannah Green into the final round of the Mizuho Americas Open in a bid to win for the sixth time in her last seven events on the LPGA Tour.

“Yeah, I think I’ve always had this mentality,” Korda said of putting the pedal to metal every time she plays. “I’ve always given it a 100%. I’ve looked up to great athletes like (Rafeal) Nadal and Roger Federer, which the blend of the two I hope I have. The grace that Federer has and the fight that Nadal has.

“So just having people that I’ve looked up to and I’ve seen and I’ve admired, I hope that’s something I carry on to the golf course,” the world’s No. 1-ranked player added.

After seeing Rose Zhang snap her tour record-tying five tournament winning streak in the Cognizant Founders Cup last week, Korda has gotten better every round in posting a three-round 13-under 203 total at scenic Liberty National at Jersey City, New Jersey. She started with a 70 and followed that with a 68 and now the 65.

Green, whose two wins make her the only other multiple winner on tour this year, took advantage of the calm and dry morning conditions and made a major move, shooting an event-record 63. It was one shot better than the best round last year, the first year of the event.

“I still want to get into the top 5 in the world now that I got into the top 10,” Green said. “Yeah, just want to keep pushing, not get too ahead of myself.”

Korda and Green, who are ranked 1-2 in the Rolex player of the year standings, will be in the final grouping Sunday on the course that has the New York City skyline, the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty for a backdrop.

Neither player had a bogey Saturday, but they did combine for 16 birdies. Korda played in the afternoon when the weather got a little chillier and windier and there was a light rain for the final nine holes. She took the lead with a birdie on 15, just missed an eagle on the driveable 16th and then missed two birdie putts on the final two holes.

She walked off the course shaking her head.

“The first nine the wind was down, it was sunny, it was warm,” Korda said. “By the time we got near to the water on the back nine the wind started picking up and it started drizzling. It was the weather we kind of played in the first day, so made sure to stay warm and to take it a shot at a time.”

They won’t have to worry about Zhang. The defending champion had to withdraw early in the first round with an illness. Overall, seven players withdrew with various illnesses in the first two days.

Rookie Gabriela Ruffels of Australia, who finished third last week, was tied for third at 10 under with Ayaka Furue of Japan, who birdied the final hole.

Jennifer Kupcho, who lost this event last year in a playoff with Zhang, was at 9 under along with Sophia Popov of Germany and Pajaree Anannarukarn of the Phillipines. Kupcho and Popov had 67s, one more than Anannarukarn.

There was a large group at 8 under, including first-round leader So Mi Lee, the South Korean alternate who got into the event an hour before her tee time.

Third-round leader Atthaya Thitikul, who recently returned from a thumb injury, struggled and had a 74 and was in a group at 7 under, six shots behind Korda.

Green hit 17 greens despite missing a couple of fairways.

“Actually hit it really close, so it was really nice to actually not have to stress about trying to make pars today,” the 27-year old said. “But it did feel like autopilot for a little bit there, which is very nice. So, yeah, now I put myself hopefully in contention for Sunday.”
