Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Cruises from Dubai depart from fall through early summer. The chief port and commercial center of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai is a cosmopolitan yet exotic city. Wander the stalls of the traditional bazaars, called souks, where you can bargain for gold jewelry, Persian and Afghani rugs and more. Gold is a particularly good buy here. A guided city tour may take in the Dubai Museum, housed in the Al Fahidi Fort, Dubai's oldest building, and the Juneira Mosque, Dubai's most-photographed structure (particularly beautiful after dark when it is illuminated). Other excursions can include four-wheel-drive adventures in the desert, visits to Bedouin camps, an opportunity to ride a camel, or a cruise around Palm Island, the expansive development project on Dubai's coast.
Driving Directions and Parking Information Port Rashid (Commonly known as Mina Rashid) Passenger Terminal 2 / 3 Dubai, United Arab Emirates Exit Dubai Airport and drive approximately 100 meters to the traffic light. Turn left and drive for approximately 200 meters. Head for the flyover showing direction Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi. Cross Al Grarhour Bridge and follow the directional signs to Port Rashid. At the Last round about turn right and reach the main cargo gates of Port Rashid. Drive through the gates and follow the signs to the 'Passenger Cruise Terminal'. Continue straight past the round about and turn left at the small traffic signal. Drive straight ahead and you will see the cruise terminal building.

Costa Cruises' flagship Toscana calls for the first time at Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal
Costa Crises ' latest flagship Costa Toscana , which entered service last March, called on December 16th for the first time at the Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal , the most modern cruise terminal in the city, inaugurated by Costa Group in December last year.
On the occasion of the first call, an event was held onboard the liner, attended by Italian and local authorities.
Throughout the 2022-2023 winter, Costa Toscana will sail on 7-day Arabian Gulf itineraries leaving roundtrip out of Dubai. There will be 13 voyages, from December 17th, 2022, to March 11th, 2023, also available with the ‘flight+cruise’ package, guaranteeing maximum comfort, without having to worry about transfers to the cruise ship/luggage at arrival at the airport.
Until January 14th, 2023, the itinerary is dedicated to Oman and the Arab Emirates, with long calls, even of 2 days and 1 night, in Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and Dubai. On the New Year’s Eve voyage , the overnight call will only be in Dubai. From January 14th to March 11th, there will be the return of Qatar among the ship's destinations, which will include Doha , Dubai, Muscat , and Abu Dhabi .
The cruise company provides a range of excursions to discover wonderful destinations from a unique point of view, combining the modernity of futuristic architecture with the ancient traditions.
The “cruise & golf” package is available for golf lovers and combines the best of cruising with the best of golf. It allows golfers to play at some of the best clubs in the Arabian Gulf during the port calls.
Costa Toscana’s onboard offerings are tailored according to the destination, starting with the gastronomic offer, signed by Angel Leon, Bruno Barbieri, and Helene Darroze. The 3 world-renowned chefs will introduce the destinations through taste, with Destination Dishes, available in the MDRs that interpret the tradition and flavours of the place to be visited the following day. The onboard entertainment program will see the debut of a spectacular show, “Essence,” inspired by the Arabian Gulf’s “Arabian Nights.”
Costa Toscana is a sailing “smart city,” able to be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) and equipped with technological innovations specially designed to reduce environmental impact.
The ship's interiors are the result of a creative project, curated by Adam D. Tihany, and created to enhance and bring to life the colours and atmosphere of the Italian region in a single location. Lighting, fabrics, accessories, and furniture are “Made in Italy,” created by a total of 15 partners representative of Italian excellence.
The onboard offer is integrated into this context: from the Solemio Spa to the entertainment areas; from the thematic bars, in collaboration with international and Italian brands, to the 21 restaurants dedicated to the “food experience.” For the youngest passengers, there is the Splash AcquaPark, with a slide positioned on the highest deck, the Squok Club, and a brand new area dedicated to video games.

Costa Toscana arrives in Dubai for first-ever Middle East cruise season
Costa Toscana has debuted in the Middle East, arriving at Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal for the first time Friday to commence her Arabian Gulf cruise season, sailing roundtrip from Dubai .
Costa Toscana is one of the largest and newest cruise ships homeporting in Dubai this season. She was delivered last March and is built on the same platform as AIDAcosma, which is also cruising roundtrip from Dubai this season .
The two vessels are owned by separate cruise lines, but Costa Cruises and AIDA Cruises are part of the Carnival Corporation group, which owns nine cruise brands and is a joint owner of the Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal, its exclusive regional hub .
Costa Toscana
“We are delighted to welcome our second LNG powered cruise ship for the season with the arrival of Costa Toscana,” said Abdulla Binhabtoor, Chief Portfolio Management Officer, Shamal Holdings, Carnival’s regional partner.
“Dubai is a city where cruise ships play a crucial role in boosting the overall tourism strategy [as they]provide distinct choices to experience the city from a unique perspective,” he added.
Costa Toscana will cruise roundtrip from Dubai on 3-night, 4-night, and week-long itineraries throughout the 2022/23 winter cruise season, sailing 13 voyages, from December 17th, 2022, to March 11th, 2023.
“Last year, we had a great season home-porting at Dubai Harbour with Costa Firenze,” said Francesco Raffa, Director of Asia Region, Growth Markets and North America Costa Cruises. “We are elated to be back this time with our new flagship of the fleet, Costa Toscana, our most technological and sustainable ship to date.”
“We are grateful for the support we continue to receive each year from Dubai Harbour’s extraordinary location, facilities and employees,” he added, describing Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal as state-of-the-art.
To mark her debut arrival in the city, Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal Management along with public and private sector stakeholders exchanged plaques with the Captain of Costa Toscana in line with maritime tradition.
AIDAcosma, a sister ship to Costa Toscana, arrives at Dubai Harbour
Some 300,000 passengers are expected to pass through the Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal this season, boarding Costa Toscana or AIDAcosma, or one of the several other Carnival Corporation-owned ships sailing from Dubai this season.
Queen Mary 2 of Cunard Line, for example, will cruise from Dubai early next year, along with Queen Victoria, while the luxury cruise line Seabourn will sail a grand voyage from the city aboard Seabourn Encore.
Then there are the many non-Carnival Corporation cruise line that will be sailing to and from Dubai during the current season, using the Dubai Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid down the coast, near the Creek.
MSC Cruises and TUI Cruises are homeporting throughout the season, MSC Cruises with the second-largest class of cruise ship in the world , while Virgin Voyages, Oceania, Silversea, Azamara and more are all scheduled to sail one-off and repeat cruises from the city.

Costa Cruises Cancels Repositioning Voyage to Dubai
- May 14, 2024
Costa Cruises recently cancelled a repositioning cruise to Dubai that was scheduled to set sail onboard the Costa Smeralda in December 2024.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the sailing is no longer going ahead due to security concerns in the Red Sea region.
“As you may have already seen in the media, the maritime traffic at this moment in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden is very critical, and our Global Security Team is actively monitoring the situation in the area,” the company said.
“In light of the recent developments regarding security and future uncertainties in the area, working in close cooperation with global security experts and government authorities, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the cruise to Dubai initially planned,” Costa Cruises added.
Originally scheduled to sail from Italy on December 3, 2024, the cancelled cruise featured visits to destinations in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Departing from Genoa and Civitavecchia, the 20-night itinerary was scheduled to visit Sicily, Greece, Israel and Jordan before transiting the Red Sea.
Once in the Indian Ocean, the Costa Smeralda was set to pay visits to Salalah and Muscat, in Oman, before continuing to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the statement, guests are being offered different compensation options, which include full refunds.
Poised to offer a winter season in the Middle East, the 5,224-guest cruise ship is now expected to sail around Africa with no passengers onboard.
The Middle East program includes a series of seven-night cruises departing from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha that feature visits to destinations in the UAE, Oman, and Qatar.
Earlier this year, the Costa Toscana faced a similar situation when wrapping up its 2023-24 program in the region.
With its repositioning cruise to Europe also cancelled, the LNG-powered vessel circumnavigated the African continent on its way back to the Mediterranean .
