Glamor Trams return to Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood has brought back the Glamor Trams to the Studio Tour as the historic experience is set to celebrate 60 years in 2024.

As of now, it seems there is only Glamor Tram in use for the Tour.

The iconic Glamor Trams were used when the Studio Tour debuted in 1964, inviting tourists to “see film rushes of current productions, both feature, and television, being made at Universal City”.

In 2024, the World-Famous Studio Tour will celebrate a milestone of 60 years at Universal Studios Hollywood. To celebrate the momentous Diamond anniversary, Universal will be adding “exciting entertainment” to the Studio Tour, however, more information about those additions will be shared at a later time.

The Studio Tour is an integral part of Universal Studios Hollywood, as the addition of the tour led to the development of Universal Studios Hollywood as a theme park.

Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan are currently delighting old and new fans across North America on their highly successful Grits and Glamour Tour. From the road to the red carpet, on center stage in the theater or under the spotlight in a honkytonk, these two women are comfortable in their high heels. Veteran recording artists and performers, they grace the country format with style, flair, and undeniable talent that is captivating and timeless. “Although we've practically grown up together, running in the same circles and backstage at the Opry as children, it truly is a newfound friendship,” said Pam Tillis. “We've known one another for years but over the last few years we've grown from 'someone you know' to having a real 'got your back' kind of friendship,” agreed Lorrie Morgan. Their career highlights are numerous and varied. Combined, they have recorded 28 top 10 hits, more than 18 million records sold, and 12 number one songs. There have been Grammys, CMA Awards, movie credits, television appearances, and Broadway performances. They have rocked arenas, helmed world-class symphonies, and toured on almost every continent. It’s almost unnecessary to point out how rare it is to have such long-term success in an industry so fickle, but Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan haven't missed a beat. In fact, they both maintain extensive solo touring schedules, enhanced by the buzz that surrounds the Grits and Glamour tour. “We've been called divas a time or two,” laughs Lorrie. “Now, I'm sure they meant it in the best sense of the word,” Pam responds. “As far as being 'divas', we share the title and the responsibility!” Striking a more serious note, they both recognize the importance of compromise in this unique and special relationship. They respect one another’s artistry, they respect each other as women, and they respect the fact that they’re carrying on the legacies of their fathers, late Opry star George Morgan and living legend Mel Tillis. Formed in 2009, the Grits and Glamour tour is a “together is better” event. The show is only loosely scripted. Good-natured ribbing and off-the-cuff remarks are just part of the fun. They add tight harmonies to each other’s material, classic songs like Tillis' “Maybe It Was Memphis,” and “Mi Vida Loca,” and Morgan’s “Something In Red” and “Except for Monday” as well as new and original music from more recent recordings. The ladies are backed by some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers. After years of working solo, both artists find teaming up fresh and interesting. When not touring you are apt to find Pam in her organic vegetable garden and Lorrie tending her roses and overseeing her small menagerie of "critters". They're as earthy as they are glamorous. Recently they got together to do some cooking and found they had chosen chicken and dumplins, green beans, and cobbler for their combined menu. True country girls at heart... Lorrie and Pam both admit they've benefitted from the world's recent fascination with Nashville. Magazines have dubbed their hometown “Nowville” and they're not letting this frenzy pass them by. Pam can be seen in the new hit television series “Nashville,” and Lorrie recently headlined Gaylord Opryland Hotel's Christmas show, performing for tens of thousands of people over six weeks. Their most recent solo recordings have been both critically acclaimed and enthusiastically received by fans. In an effort to promote that new music, Pam and Lorrie are avid tweeters, share videos on their YouTube channel, and post candid photos and road musings on their Facebook fan pages. In a logical progression of their successful touring relationship, Pam and Lorrie have teamed up to record Dos Divas, scheduled for a mid-summer 2013 release. The project features solo performances by Morgan and Tillis as well as fun collaborations and poignant duets. Highlights include original material written by Lorrie and Pam as well as songs penned by some of country music's most talented songwriters. With titles such as “That’s So Cool,” “Bless Their Hearts,” “I Am a Woman,” “I Know What You Did Last Night,” and “What Was I Thinkin’” (a Tillis/Morgan co-write), the 14-song collection is as diverse as the many moods of both women. It shows their remarkable range, showcasing everything from traditional country to cutting edge contemporary. Grits and Glamour’s Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis sparkle and shine with a down home rootsy nature that hopefully inspires others to embrace the Grits and Glamour of their own lives.

Mother Play Broadway

Eight years after her last visit to Broadway, Tony Award winner Jessica Lange returns to the stage in “ Mother Play ,” a true story about a dysfunctional family with themes of love, loss, forgiveness and a “wicked” sense of humor.

“I wanted to do a new play, something brand new. When I read it months ago, it just triggered the imagination. I liked it immediately,” Lange told Variety at the show’s premiere on Thursday. “It was an opportunity to do something that’s never been done before.”

Popular on Variety

“I think it takes a while to understand how much harder older generations had it than we did. So that led me to want to think about it, write about it and craft, a theatrical ritual of forgiveness,” Vogel says. “I don’t know of any other way to talk to the people I’ve lost, other than writing something for the stage and hope that they hear it, wherever they are.”

Lange, Parsons and Keenan-Bolger were able to bond on and off the stage through the show’s humor.

“Something that develops early on in the play, and so for us developed early on and working on it was how Carl and his mother kind of have a wicked sense of humor together. I mean, the very first scene they’re joking about suicide and given electric shock therapy and stuff like that,” Parsons says. “So there’s this kind of wicked darkness to they’re joking around with each other.”

Vogel said what she hopes people will take specific messages away from her extremely personal work.

“I want us to figure out how we can get past our differences in our living rooms so that all children are loved,” she says.

Lange won the Tony Award for best actress in a play in 2016 for her work in the Ryan Murphy-produced revival of Eugene O’Neill’s seminal thespian drama “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.”

Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan Grits & Glamour Tour Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center Bowling Green, Kentucky October 13, 2012

This past Saturday night, I had the immense pleasure of seeing two favorite artists of mine – contemporary country legends Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan – perform live in concert at the newly completed Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  The SKyPAC is a beautifully decorated 1800-seat venue with excellent acoustics, thus providing an ideal atmosphere for Tillis and Morgan’s fantastic Grits & Glamour show.

The Grits & Glamour tour is all about the fans, and all about great music.  No unnecessary gimmicks, bells, or whistles – just Tillis and Morgan singing their hearts out, joined by a small four-piece band.  Both ladies were in fine voice, boasting some absolutely gorgeous harmonies, as they performed together backed by fiddle, bass, guitar, and keyboard.  Such simplicity created a warm, laid-back, almost familial environment as Tillis and Morgan treated the eager crowd to a selection of best-loved tunes, all the while cutting up like one would expect from a couple of longtime girlfriends, and sharing often-humorous personal anecdotes – such as Tillis’ account of being mistaken for Patty Loveless at a Waffle House, by a fan from Knockemstiff, Ohio. (Google it – It’s a real place)

The bulk of the concert set list consisted of

a selection of well-known hits from both artists, finished off with covers of classic songs that are close to their hearts, as well as some more recent cuts.  The two opened the show with a lovely duet version of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.”  From that point onward, they alternated between performing Morgan’s hits and Tillis’ hits, beginning with Morgan’s “Watch Me” (performed in a fierce fiddle-laden arrangement quite different from the relative slickness of the 1992 hit version) and Tillis’ “Shake the Sugar Tree.”  Obviously, both ladies have had more than enough hits to fill up an entire set list (Tillis has had 13 Top 10 country hits; Morgan has had 14), but Tillis and Morgan did a fine job covering the main highlights of their careers, such that virtually any audience member could enjoy the thrill of hearing something familiar.  Though the hits dominated the set list, Tillis and Morgan also performed standout cuts from each of their most recent albums.  Tillis performed “Train Without a Whistle” from her 2007 career-best effort Rhinestoned, while Morgan gave a heartrending performance of “How Does It Feel” from 2010’s I Walk Alone .

A major facet of what makes Grits & Glamour such a broadly enjoyable show is the way its two headliners simply exude genuine love for great country music new and old.  They commented on the increased scarcity of “real” country music in modern times, but Tillis nonetheless assured the audience that “We got it all – fiddles, steel guitar, mandolins – and we ain’t ever lettin’ go of it!”  Both ladies shared a common experience of growing up with the musical heritage of a famous parent – an experience they recollected with fond enthusiasm – being the daughters of singer-songwriter legend Mel Tillis, and of late Opry star George Morgan, respectively.   One of the night’s most memorable moments was a heartfelt tribute to Tillis and Morgan’s famous fathers, as they eased into a medley of George Morgan’s 1949 signature “Candy Kisses” and Mel Tillis’ classic composition “Burning Memories,” a hit first for Ray Price in 1964, and then for Mel Tillis himself in 1977.  In addition, the ladies also lovingly covered classics such as Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World” and Roger Miller’s “King of the Road.”

As the show neared its end, Tillis and Morgan were met with the loudest applause of the night as they treated the audience to performances of their respective signature classics – Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” and Morgan’s “Something In Red.”  They then rose to their feet for an inspired performance of gospel song “Jesus On the Line.”  After an encore, they returned to the stage to perform brief snippets of Morgan’s 1993 number one “What Part of No” and Tillis’ 1990 debut hit “Don’t Tell Me What to Do.”  Then came one of the biggest highlights of the evening as the two closed out the show by tearing into the rousing up-tempo number “I Know What You Did Last Night” – a new song which is to appear on Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan’s forthcoming Grits & Glamour duets record.  After the show ended, Tillis and Morgan headed out to the atrium to sign autographs for a crowd of enthusiastic concertgoers.

Needless to say, the Grits & Glamour concert experience was more than enough to whet one’s appetite for the ladies’ soon-to-be-completed duet effort.  The unique chemistry shared between the two outstanding talents was on full display throughout the evening.  If you have the opportunity to catch any of Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan’s future shows on the Grits & Glamour tour, you will be in for a real country music treat.

“Both Sides Now” “Watch Me” “Shake the Sugar Tree” “Except for Monday” “Cleopatra, Queen of Denial” “A Picture of Me (Without You)” “Train Without a Whistle” Medley:  “Candy Kisses”/ “Burning Memories” “The End of the World” “Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)” “How Does It Feel” “Spilled Perfume” “King of the Road” “I Guess You Had to Be There” “Maybe It Was Memphis” “Something In Red” “Jesus On the Line”

“What Part of No” “Don’t Tell Me What to Do” “I Know What You Did Last Night”

Now this sounds like a REAL country show!! Your review makes me wish I had been standing right beside you!! Oh the good ole days of country music!! Sure do miss them! I love both these ladies music!

Great review of two great artists! Wish I was there.

Great review! Awwww> I LOVE Joni Mitchell. I rocked my kids to sleep with Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and Dylan. Maybe next time I will get to go when they come to BG.

So so wish they had come around the Boston/NH area. Would’ve killed to have seen that show. Great review, Ben!

Sounds like a great concert. I guess I had a short preview last Thursday night at a Grand Ole Opry show at the Ryman which Pam & Lorrie closed out. They mentioned the Grits & Glamour tour.

I saw them together in 2010, I think. The set list was similar but not as strong as this one. Would’ve loved to hear that new song!

I’ve never seen Pam Tillis in concert but I saw Lorrie Morgan in concert in 1998 or 1999. I attended quite a few concerts back in the late 1990s and I thought Morgan was pretty decent. I no longer am interested in concerts but I do remember enjoying hers.

I’ve never seen either in concert but this sounds like a good show. Maybe they’ll swing around to my part of the country. I saw Mel Tillis in concert a few times and would like to see Mel and Pam perform together, although Mel is getting a bit long in the tooth for that to be more than a fantasy

Kevin, I have to ask: How many times have you seen Pam? Just curious :)

A few times. If memory serves: 1994 (with Shenandoah opening) 1995 (with Wade Hayes opening) 1996 (with Lorrie Morgan and Carlene Carter) 2002 (with The Warren Brothers opening) 2005 (State Fair) 2010? (with Lorrie Morgan) 2012 Solo

I guess seven, all in the NY area. Would like for her to have a new studio album out before I go again. She’s always solid, though.

Pretty cool! This was actually my first time seeing either Pam or Lorrie. I would kill to see them with Carlene Carter.

That show was in Central Park. It was pretty cool. They each did a set, then came out and did a few songs together.

I’ve been waiting with baited breath for their duet album for a long time now. Is there any word on when it will be released?

I still haven’t heard a release date. They said it was “not finished yet,” but hopefully soon.

I am waitting for this release so much. Maybe our thoughts and expectations will bring the result :)

this sounds like it was an awesome show ,oh how i wish we could have great country music like this again , instead of the stuff they are calling country music nowadays, lorrie has always bee one of my favorite singers , I saw her in 1995 in concert, it was during a real bad storm , david lee murphy was opening for her, his show was canceled but lorrie went on and did the whole show ,it was fantastic, she never missed a beat even with all the thunder and lighting going it and i wasn’t about to leave ,i doubt if we will ever have real country music again

Zendaya’s Challengers Press Tour: See Every Look So Far

By Elizabeth Logan

The year’s undisputed red-carpet queen, Zendaya , continues to serve look after look on the press tour for her new tennis drama, Challengers , and each outfit has perfectly combined preppy athleticism with classic femininity. It’s called commitment to the theme!

The Vogue cover girl ’s outfits have been beyond literal during this press tour, with tennis balls on her shoes and other fun details (think a feathery tail) making the most of every promotional opportunity.

Here’s everything she’s worn so far.

The high-slit trousers on this jumpsuit remind me of tear-away sweatpants, but in the most chic way.

Zendaya and stylist Law Roach modified this off-the-runway Erdem dress by cropping it at the knee and exposing the tulle.

There’s more to this look than meets the eye. “I TOLD YA” is actually a reference to a T-shirt worn by John F. Kennedy Jr., which itself was likely a reference to one of his father’s campaign slogans. When creating costumes for the film, designer Jonathan Anderson referenced JFK Jr.’s laidback, quiet-luxury style as inspiration. Zendaya’s character Tashi even wears the same tee in the film.

How! Freaking! Cute! This vintage Vivienne Westwood look is exactly what I want to be wearing all summer long.

What’s that? The feathery tail isn’t practical? Who cares! I’d never sit down while wearing a look like this; I’d simply be too busy posing on a roof somewhere in London like our girl Z.

The star wore her currently honey-blonde hair in a high ponytail that was then braided, bringing to mind the equally fierce and formidable Katniss Everdeen. But while a middle school horse girl would have tied a ribbon at the tip of the braid, Zendaya’s white ribbon bow is artfully tied around the base, framing the star’s face and giving her a low-key kind of white tiara.

“Posh & Glamour in spite of deep crisis” Review of Restaurant White Rabbit

Photo of Restaurant White Rabbit

Ok. Here you will not see that Russia is in deep crisis and that rouble is so low in value. At White Rabbit you have everything - Moet&Chandon and caviar, crabs and lobsters you can choose for dinner straight from the aquarium, english speaking staff and no table without reservation, evening dresses, and too much jewellery. When you see a person of an opposite sex in the toilet - no worries - you are in the right one. There's no separate men and women. To sum up: food was great (especially the blue tuna tartar) and diversified, and the almost top floor view - worth paying more for food and drinks than you would normally do in Moscow.

I was there on Saturday afternoon with my family. Restaurant was quite busy, but not overcrowded. Staff was very nice and professional, starting with welcoming girls up to bartenders and waiters. I recommend Tuna tartar (never had tried it that way as they prepared it here). Also steaks we took as a 2nd dish were awsome. The only thing I would recommend to restaurant - please remove some tables and chairs in between, as seating at table and getting up was highly uncomfortable and unpleasant, which is the only negative fact I can add.

The restaurant can be hard to find - you have to change an elevator to get there. However, the place itself is absolutely lovely. Be sure to check out the panoramic view from the terrace! The menu provides a wide variety of tasty dishes, but the place is not cheap. You should also consider making a reservation if you plan to go there in the evening.

We arranged a business dinner there some time ago and reserved advance a table (as it is recommended) for 6. We got a window near the glass windows which give you somewhat a view onto the garden ring (that doesnt mean you see nature or gardens, just the large street circelling the center of Moscow). The service is average in general, but for some reason I arrived early and 2 different service people managed to break glasses next to me within 30 min of me waiting for the other people to arrive. Then when we all were seated and ordered drinks, the waiter asked 2 of us for what aperitives we would like to order and just walked away even though the others were waiting and looking at him to order theirs too. The food is good, and nicely presented and I guess takes a while to prepare therefore. The price in my opinion does not correspond at all with the service you get, sure the location is nice but I have the feeling you get the worst service in town there.. I put here Feb 2014 because it is the earliest place you can put here in the review, but we actually visited in 2012

Staff at out hotel recommended this restaurant as it was nearby, we didn't know what to expect and were surprised when we got there. First impression was that it's rather well hidden, if we hadn't asked it would have been hard to find. The lady who greeted us and the man who took our coats were both very nice, but the hostess was quite rude! She led us to our table and when my husband requested a menu in English for me, her reply was "You should have told me before", accompanied with a dirty and annoyed look. Service was good, though the servers were not particularly friendly and the food was beautifully presented and good. The view is nice and the atmosphere as well, though I would go as far as describing it as snooty. (If you decide to go I recommend you dress up a bit).

Exterior of the Black Dog pub in Vauxhall

Taylor Swift fans flock to London pub apparently referenced on new album

Staff at the Black Dog in Vauxhall ‘100% certain’ theirs is the pub mentioned in song of the same name

Last Thursday was shaping up to be a normal day for the Black Dog pub in south London , until its social media traffic mysteriously started ramping up.

The reason was that Taylor Swift’s new album had leaked, featuring a song that shared its name. Within an hour of its release, the small venue was deluged with excited fans, while its staff scoured CCTV for a sighting of the world’s biggest pop star.

Over the course of the weekend, thousands of devoted Swifties, as Taylor’s fans call themselves, descended on Vauxhall to feel closer to their favourite artist. The Black Dog’s lyrics reference spotting that an ex-boyfriend was entering the pub – most likely the British actor Joe Alwyn, who lives in the area.

Lily Bottomley, an events and social manager for SC Soho, the small hospitality group that owns the Black Dog, said the mention had taken the neighbourhood pub by surprise.

“I was like, wow, what a coincidence, that’s crazy. Then traffic got bigger, and then just exploded when her album went live. We created a TikTok, started posting, interacting with fans. We’re completely booked out this week and we’re nearly full for her tour dates. It’s been amazing for the business, the fans have been overwhelmingly positive,” she said.

Lily Bottomley outside the pub

The atmosphere was one of “celebration, super jovial, really good vibes” at the weekend, Bottomley said, adding that the pub had hired last-minute security to deal with the surge.

Bottomley said fans were particularly interested to learn whether it was Alwyn or Swift’s other British ex-boyfriend, Matty Healy, referred to in the song. She has confirmed that the pub has had “a certain blond regular in a few times”, in a coy reference to Alwyn’s hair colour.

She is “100% certain” the pub is the one referenced in the song, since Swift has previously talked about nights out in neighbouring Brixton.

She said: “We’ve been looking at past security footage [for Swift]. We haven’t found anything but you never know. I’ve heard that whenever she visits places she puts a cap on, so we could have missed it. We’d love to have her back.”

When the Guardian visited at the pub’s opening at midday on Monday, a steady stream of Swifties were paying their respects.

Three women pose for a selfie next to a blackboard bearing Taylor Swift lyrics outside the pub

Emilia Linton, 24, and Katie McGowan, 28, had rushed to the Black Dog before flying home to Vienna, and were keen to secure some content for their Instagram Stories.

“It makes you feel the song more, because you know what she’s referencing,” Linton said. “She’s a lyrical genius, she introduced me to country, and she makes it cool to be a girl again.”

While McGowan had expected a dingier locals’ pub, Linton argued that the upmarket gastropub’s “sweet, girlie” ambience was more fitting.

The pair’s friend, Liz, 23, from Leeds, said: “It feels very like, if you’re American, what you’d think a pub was. I just don’t see Taylor Swift in a ’Spoons.”

She had previously enjoyed visiting the Beechwood cafe in LA, mentioned in a Harry Styles song, and was keen to recreate the experience. “I just love getting recommendations, from friends and stuff – including my close personal friend Taylor,” Liz said.

Smiling Taylor Swift fans raise glasses of beer to each other

The trio welcomed fellow Swift fan Tyler Ewings, 18, on to their table. He was visiting from Plymouth. “I thought I’d come see what it’s like, take in the vibe of it,” he said. “Swifties are a very tight-knit community and actually kind of loving. If you go to a concert you’ll talk to loads of people outside the venue.”

He said the specificity of the pub’s mention made him feel more connected to Swift. “With London Boy she referenced all kinds of places in London, but to target one place, it feels like she’s gone in deeper.”

Julien Dimitrov, 30, had dragged his reluctant boyfriend to the pub on the final day of their holiday before returning to the Czech Republic. When he realised the Black Dog was in London, he was thrilled by the coincidence. “I immediately thought I must visit it,” he said.

The pub’s mention reflects all that he cherishes in Swift: “She’s so open, so friendly, so human, down to earth, relatable – even though she’s famous.”

The Ultimate Guide to visiting the Royal Opera House

Royal opera house ultimate guide.

Many visitors in London venture to Covent Garden to shop, dine or watch street performers in the dazzling Covent Garden Piazza. But opera, ballet and classical music lovers head to Covent Garden for one reason and one reason only: To see a performance at the Royal Opera House.

Built in 1858, the current Royal Opera House is actually the third to be built at its location on Bow Street, as both of the previous theatres were destroyed by fires in 1808 and 1856.

The original venue was constructed in 1732 (when it was known as the Theatre Royal), and was originally designed to be a playhouse. However, over the years the venue expanded into the world-renowned arts venue that it is known as today, and has attracted some of the biggest names in classical and opera music.

glamour tour

Royal Opera House Highlights

Immediately upon entering the Covent Garden Piazza, visitors will be greeted with the massive iron and glass structure known as The Paul Hamlyn Hall (or “The Floral Hall”) which has direct access to the main opera building. This area also boasts a champagne bar and restaurant, so concertgoers can sip on a glass of champagne or have a quick meal before watching a performance.

Besides being blown away by a ballet, opera or orchestra performance, visitors can also choose from two different tours if they want to learn more about this fascinating London venue:

  • The Backstage Tour – (1.5 hours) which includes visits to both the backstage and Front of House areas as the actors prepare for the evening performances. The tour also covers the history of the venue, its current productions, and may even include the rare opportunity to see the Royal Ballet in a classroom (however this is not always guaranteed).
  • The Velvet, Gilt and Glamour Tour (45 minutes) where visitors can learn more about the venue’s architecture and history, and even hear stories from some of the many famous opera singers who once performed at the Royal Opera House. Visitors will also be led to the Royal Retiring Room, which is still used by members of the royal family today.

Special Tips

glamour tour

Getting There

Visiting royal opera house.

To find out which performances are taking place at the Royal Opera House during your visit to London, visit the “What’s On” section on their official website.

During the day, the Royal Opera House is open to the general public as well as anyone who has pre-booked a guided tour, however only ticket-holders will be allowed in during performances.

Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before each performance starts, as latecomers will not be allowed into the venue. There will be announcements alerting all concertgoers at least three times before each performance starts.

There are two bars and three different restaurants located inside the Royal Opera House, all of which open 90 minutes before the start of each performance, as well as during intervals. Please note that any food or drink is not allowed in the auditorium.

For those with mobility issues, there is lift access to all the levels of the main auditorium (except the Orchestra Stalls). If you are watching a performance with your family, children between the ages of five and 14 must be seated next to an adult, and babies and infants will not be allowed into the auditorium.

The use of cameras as well as recording equipment inside the venue is strictly prohibited. There are free cloakroom facilities, but be aware that space is extremely limited so try to avoid bringing large items with you during your visit. All visitors may be searched upon entering the venue, and all large bags and rucksacks must be placed in the cloakroom.

When to Visit

Ticket prices can range anywhere from as low as £15 to as much as £200 depending on which seat or performance you choose. Because performance times and costs may vary, be sure to check out the Royal Opera House’s official website before you visit and/or book your tickets.

Souvenir programmes are available to purchase for £7, and you can buy them in the Main Entrance Foyer, the Paul Hamlyn Hall or the Amphitheatre Lobby.

The Ticket Sales and Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

Ticket collection for the day’s performances and tours are available between Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m, and the Box Office telephone lines are open between Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Souvenir Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday. The shop is normally closed on Sundays unless there is a performance, in which case its opening hours are from at least four hours before the performance starts (or 10 am.).

Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan: Grits and Glamour

September 16, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Season Tickets on sale June 13 at 9:00 AM, Individual Tickets on sale June 27 at 9:00 AM

“Although we’ve practically grown up together, running in the same circles and backstage at the Opry as children, it truly is a newfound friendship,” said Pam Tillis.

“We’ve known one another for years but over the last few years we’ve grown from ‘someone you know’ to having a real ‘got your back’ kind of friendship,” agreed Lorrie Morgan.

Their career highlights are numerous and varied. Combined, they recorded 28 top 10 hits, more than 18 million records sold, and 12 number one songs. There have been Grammys, CMA Awards, movie credits, television appearances, and Broadway performances. They rocked arenas, helmed world-class symphonies, and toured on almost every continent. As a result, these 50-somethings are more than a little flattered that they can still sell out shows, turn heads, and make hearts beat fast nearly four decades into their careers. It’s almost unnecessary to point out how rare it is to have such long-term success in an industry so fickle, but Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan haven’t missed a beat. Also, they both maintain extensive solo touring schedules, enhanced by the buzz that surrounds the Grits and Glamour tour.

“We’ve been called divas a time or two,” laughs Lorrie. “Now, I’m sure they meant it in the best sense of the word,” Pam responds. “As far as being ‘divas’, we share the title and the responsibility!” Striking a more serious note, they both recognize the importance of compromise in this unique and special relationship.

They add tight harmonies to each other’s material, classic songs like Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” and “Mi Vida Loca,” and Morgan’s “Something In Red” and “Except for Monday” as well as new and original music from more recent recordings. The ladies are backed by some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers. After years of working solo, both artists find teaming up fresh and interesting.

When not touring you are apt to find Pam in her organic vegetable garden and Lorrie tending her roses and overseeing her small menagerie of “critters”. They’re as earthy as they are glamorous. Recently they got together to do some cooking and found they had chosen chicken and dumplins, green beans, and cobbler for their combined menu. True country girls at heart…
Lorrie and Pam both admit they’ve benefitted from the world’s recent fascination with Nashville. Magazines have dubbed their hometown “Nowville” and they’re not letting this frenzy pass them by. Pam can be seen in the new hit television series “Nashville,” and Lorrie recently headlined Gaylord Opryland Hotel’s Christmas show, performing for tens of thousands of people over six weeks. Certainly, their most recent solo recordings are both critically acclaimed and enthusiastically received by fans.

Highlights include original material written by Lorrie and Pam as well as songs penned by some of country music’s most talented songwriters. With titles such as “That’s So Cool,” “Bless Their
Hearts,” “I Am a Woman,” “I Know What You Did Last Night,” and “What Was I Thinkin’” (a Tillis/Morgan co-write), the 14-song collection is as diverse as the many moods of both women.
