‘Sailor Moon’ makes stop in Nagoya on 30th anniversary tour

NAGOYA--A traveling exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” manga series is making a stop here after touring across the country since 2022.
Sponsored by The Asahi Shimbun and other entities, “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Museum” is running at the Kanayama Minami Building Museum Wing in the city’s Naka Ward.
The original manga series started its run in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi comic anthology in February 1992.
The art event features at least 600 items related to the globally popular series, including original drawings by author Naoko Takeuchi and illustrations used for cover art of Nakayoshi.
Visitors can see the subtle, uneven ink traces left by handwriting and the creator's delicate strokes up close, in addition to changes in tools and materials for drawing the manga over the years.
One wall of the venue features hologram illustrations of memorable scenes from the first through fifth story arcs.
The exhibition will run until Sept. 1.
The venue is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last entry 30 minutes before closing. It closes at 5 p.m. on the final day.
Tickets at the door cost 2,000 yen ($13) for adults.

We headed into Kingstown and loaded the car and ourselves unto the ferry. A nice scenic ferry ride into beautiful Port Elizabeth on the island of Bequia.

Trevor Bailey, founder of Sailor Wilderness Tours, along with his professional staff - which included Oswald, Desmond, Edwin, Elijah, and Bailey's wife and children - were our tour guides. We arrived on St Vincent in the evening. Our accommodations were at the Villa Lodge Hotel on the south eastern coast of the island.
