How to Type Apple Logo Symbol  with Keyboard?

Apple is one of the most valuable tech companies in the world. The logo of the company is so popular with a bitten apple. Though the logo is a graphical design, do you know you can insert Apple logo on your documents like a text character? In this article, we will explain different methods to insert Apple logo in Windows and Mac.

Insert or Type Apple Logo

Use on of the following methods that works for you to insert the symbol. Some options are keyboard shortcuts while others are tools in default operating system that you can use for this purpose. Here is the summary of alt code keyboard shortcuts that you can try before trying other options.

Note: F000 is not an approved Unicode point. Hence, this may not work well in all cases.

Insert Apple Logo in Mac

Apple offers a hidden keyboard shortcut in macOS. You can press “Option + Shift + K” to insert Apple logo  in Pages, Keynote and Numbers. However, this will work only on Apple applications and not with third-party applications like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.

Create Keyboard Shortcut for Apple Logo

If you frequently use Apple logo on your documents you can create a custom shortcut instead of using the above keyboard shortcut.

• First the Apple logo symbol.
• Click on Apple logo on top left corner and go to “System Preferences…” section.
• Find “Keyboard” option and click on it.
• Go to “Text” tab and click on the + icon.
• Type “applelogo” under “Replace” and paste the symbol under “With” sections. Instead of “applelogo”, you can assign any other word that you remember when using the shortcut on your documents.

• Close the preferences section and open Pages or any other text applications from Apple.
• Type “applelogo” and press the space to insert the logo symbol. You can also see the replacement suggestion when typing the shortcut word.

Insert Apple Logo in iPhone

There are no default options to insert Apple logo in iPhone. However, the custom keyboard shortcuts you create in Mac will automatically synced with iPhone when logged in with same Apple account. If you are using different Apple ID s on iPhone and Mac, then you can create custom keyboard shortcut in iPhone under “Settings > General > Keyboards > Text Replacement”.

Insert Apple Logo in Windows

Similar to macOS, you have also multiple options for inserting Apple logo In Windows computers. However, you need to have “Baskerville Old Face” font on your computer in order to insert the logo. Otherwise, the best option is to copy and paste the logo whenever you need.

Using Character Map

The option is to use the Character Map tool available by default in Windows OS.

• Press “Win + R” to open Run prompt .
• Type “charmar” and press enter key. This will open Character Map app.
• Choose the “Baskerville old Face” font from the dropdown and scroll down to the bottom of the list.
• select the Apple logo and click on “Copy” button to copy the symbol to clipboard.
• Use “Control + V” shortcuts to paste the copied symbol anywhere on your documents.

After pasting, you may see the symbol as a small box. Select that and change the font to “Baskerville Old Face” to change the display to Apple logo.

Using Symbol Utility in Office Documents

You can use “Symbol” utility in Word, PowerPoint and Excel to insert Apple logo similar to using Character Map app.

• Open your document and click on “Insert” menu.
• Click on “Symbol > More Symbols” to open “Symbol” utility.
• Change the font to “Baskerville Old Face” and find the Apple logo symbol.
• Select the symbol and click on “Insert” button to insert on the cursor position on your document.

Alt Code Keyboard Shortcuts for Apple Logo

As you can see in the Symbol utility and Character Map app, Apple logo symbol has U+F000 as a Unicode codepoint. F000 is the hexadecimal value and the equivalent decimal value is 61440. You can use these codes along with alt key on your keyboard to insert Apple logo with Baskerville Old Face font.

• Type F000 and then press alt + x keys to make the symbol. This will work only on Microsoft Word documents.
• Hold one of the alt keys and then type 61440 using number pad on your keyboard.

Most characters you can type don't appear on your keyboard, whether you're using a physical keyboard or a touch one. Here's how you can type them on your computer or mobile device.

You could always perform a search online to find the symbol and copy-paste it into the program you're using, too. This is inefficient, but works for quickly inserting the occasional obscure symbol

You can quickly insert special characters on Windows using Alt key codes. These require a separate numerical keypard on the right side of your keyboard, so they won't work on most laptops. They'll only work on desktop PCs if you have that number pad to the right of your Enter key.

To use Alt key codes, ensure that "Num Lock" is on -- you may need to tap the Num Lock key to turn it on. Next, press the Alt key and hold it down. Tap the appropriate numbers using the number pad at the right side of your keyboard and then release the Alt key.

For example, let's say you want to type the £ symbol for the British Pound. It's numerical shortcut is 0163. With Num Lock enabled, you'd hold down the Alt key, tap 0, tap 1, tap 6, and tap 3 -- all on the numpad -- and then release the Alt key.

The Character Map tool  can help here. Open it by tapping the Windows key, typing "Character Map" to search for it, and pressing Enter. For each special character, you'll see its Alt key code printed at the bottom-right corner of the window. If you don't have a number pad, you can also head to this window to view a list of characters and copy-paste them into other applications. You can also find lists of special characters and their associated codes online.

Mac OS X has its own Character Viewer, which is easier to access. In almost any application, you can click Edit > Special Characters to open it.

Locate a symbol in the window and double-click it to enter it into the text field in the current application. If you use specific special characters frequently, you can add them to your Favorites list so they can be easily accessed here. The list is more organized than it is on Windows.

You can also type a variety of accented letters and other special characters with Option key shortcuts. For example, let's say you want to type the word "touché." You could type "touch," press Option+e at the same time, and then tap the e key. This would instruct your Mac to use an acute accent over the letter e.

There are also Option+Shift keyboard shortcuts, and ones that don't use accented letters. For example, typing Option+4 gets you a cent symbol (¢) instead of a dollar sign. Washington State University has a good list of Option and Option+Shift shortcuts for typing special characters on a Mac.

If you just want to type a letter with an accent, there's a much faster way on the latest versions of macOS. Just press and hold the appropriate letter key on your keyboard. For example, if you want to type an "é" character, you'd press and hold the "e" key.

A popup menu will appear. Press the number key corresponding to the accented letter you want to type, or click it in the menu.

You can type many additional characters on an iPhone or iPad's touch keyboard by long-pressing the appropriate key. For example, to type the word "touché," you'd type "touch," long press the e key, and choose the é character.

This also works for a variety of symbols. For example, to type another currency symbol, you'd long-press the $ symbol on the keyboard and choose your desired symbol.

If you frequently need to type symbols that don't appear on the standard keyboard, you can head to Settings>General>Keyboards>Add New Keyboard to add a keyboard from another language that contains those characters. And, now that iOS offers support for third-party keyboards , you could install a keyboard that offers support for a wider variety of Unicode symbols and use it.

Android's keyboard  works similarly. Long-press keys on the keyboard to access related characters and symbols. For example, long-press the e to find the accented e characters. Long-press other symbols -- like the currency symbol -- to access additional related symbols.

This is how the default " Google Keyboard " app for Android works, anyway. Other keyboards should work similarly. Because Android offers support for more keyboards, you could install other keyboards from Google Play that are better suited to typing a wider variety of Unicode symbols.

Other platforms with touch keyboards should work similarly. Long-pressing keys will get you additional accented characters and symbols, while other special characters will have to come from dedicated keyboards -- or copy-pasting.

There's no single standard method for typing these Unicode characters on Linux. It depends on the applications and the graphical toolkit they use.

How to Type the Apple Logo on Mac, iPhone, and iPad

Apple's  logo is pervasive across the company's branding, appearing on everything from ads for its Apple TV+ streaming service to the Apple stickers included in every iPhone box. Apple also includes the  symbol in its keyboard character set, so if you have a Mac, you can type the logo using a simple keyboard shortcut.

If you're on an ‌iPhone‌ or iPad , you can use a text replacement shortcut to type the symbol. In fact, you can use the same method on a Mac in you prefer. First, though, you have to set up the text replacement. Keep reading to learn how.

How to Type the Apple Logo on Mac

• Copy and paste the Apple logo () character into the "With" column.

How to Type the Apple Logo on iPhone and iPad

• Launch the Settings app on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.
• Tap General -> Keyboard .

• Tap the plus ( + ) button in the top-right corner of the screen.
• On the next screen, copy and paste the Apple logo () character into the "Phrase" field.
• In the "Shortcut" field, input the text of your choice that you want replaced with the  symbol every time you type it.

If you're using the same iCloud account across all of your Apple devices, any Text Replacements that you add on your Mac will be automatically synced to your ‌iPhone‌ and/or ‌iPad‌, and vice versa.

How to type the Apple logo

It’s easy to do on a Mac, and I can show you how to add  to texts on iPhone and iPad, too.

Use the  emoji not 🍎

We love emoji . They’re a quick, easy way to express emotions, or simply a fun way to shrink a complex idea into a picture. But ❤️🍎 really doesn’t say “I love Apple.” It says “I love apples.” Which isn’t a strong addition to an iPhone versus Android debate.

Fortunately, there’s a solution: Follow these instructions to use the  symbol instead.

But there’s a caveat. The Apple logo emoji doesn’t always show up correctly on Windows, Android, etc. People using those platforms might see an empty box instead. So use the symbol with caution.

How to type the Apple logo emoji on Mac

Adding a  to an email, text, whatever on your Mac is a breeze. You only need to know the key combination.

• Hold down the Shift and Option keys simultaneously
• Hit the letter K key

That’s it. I told it would be easy.

How to type the Apple logo emoji on iPhone

Unfortunately, typing the logo on an iPhone is more complicated. There isn’t a key combination built into iOS to make the symbol — an odd omission for Apple.

But you can set up your iPhone so entering  takes just a couple of keystrokes. I can walk you through it. And remember, after this one-time setup, typing the Apple logo emoji will be as easy as pie.

To begin, press and hold your finger on any of the  symbols in this article. Choose Copy from the resulting popup window.

Next, on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Text Replacement . Now tap on the + symbol in the upper right of the screen.

On the resulting screen, tap your finger in the open space next to Phrase . Choose Paste from the resulting popup window. This will enter the  symbol you copied earlier. (If you accidentally copied some other words too, delete them.)

We’re almost done so … choose a Shortcut . This is the key combination you’ll use to enter the Apple logo emoji from now on. I suggest a&. It’s quick, easy to remember, and you’re not likely to use it for anything else.

And we’re finished. Flip to the Messages app and type a& (or whenever key combo you chose), and you’ll see the  show up.

How to type the Apple logo on iPad

You have multiple options for entering an  on your iPad. If you have an external keyboard attached, use the same key combination as a Mac: SHIFT – OPTION + K .

But if you type with the on-screen keyboard, you’ll need to use the same process as for iPhone. The good news is that if you’ve already set up a keyboard combination to enter the symbol on your iPhone, it’ll automatically be transferred to your iPad through the magic of iCloud.

So there, you can now type the Apple logo emoji into text, emails, etc. on any of your  devices.

How to type the Pi (π) symbol on a Mac or iPhone

It’s every math geek’s favorite day—March 14, there are still plenty of reasons why you would need to write about Pi. But while you can easily write the word “Pi” and everyone will know what you’re talking about, it’s way cooler to type the symbol π. It’s one of the most recognizable symbols in mathematics but it’s not found on any standard keyboard.

There’s an easy way to type it on your Mac:

• Press and hold the option key (next to Command).
• Type the letter “P”.
• Release/repeat.

That’s it. No matter what app you’re in or the font you’re using, the Pi symbol will appear in the place of the letter “P.”

It’s a little trickier on the iPhone and iPad. First, you’ll need to add a new keyboard:

• Head over to the Settings app.
• Tap General and Keyboard .
• Tap Keyboards , Add New Keyboard , and select Greek .

Then, when you want to type the Pi symbol, click the globe icon in the bottom left corner of the keyboard until you see the Greek keyboard. Tap the Pi symbol, which is the Greek letter “P” (top row, second from right). Then tap the Globe icon again to return to the English keyboard.

Here are a few other fun Pi facts to impress your friends:

• The Pi symbol is denoted by the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet representing the lowercase letter “P.”
• Welsh mathematician William Jones was the first person to use the symbol to express Pi.
• The longest extension of pi has been more than 62 trillion decimal places.
• In ancient Egypt, people believed the Giza pyramids were built on the principles of Pi .
• There’s an entire writing style called Pilish based on Pi’s mnemonic constraints.

Copy and paste between your iPhone and other Apple devices

With Universal Clipboard, you can copy content from one of your Apple devices and paste it into another. For example, you can copy text on your iPad and paste it into a note on your iPhone, or copy an image from a Safari webpage on your iPhone and paste into an email message on your Mac.

You can use Universal Clipboard with your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Before you begin

Make sure of the following:

Both devices have Wi-Fi , Bluetooth ® , and Handoff turned on.

You’re signed in to the same Apple Account on both devices.

Both devices meet minimum system requirements for Universal Clipboard .

Copy and paste between your iPhone and other devices

Universal Clipboard isn’t a feature that you see, but it behaves just like copy and paste does on your iPhone, except with Universal Clipboard, when you paste, you can do so into one of your other Apple devices, like an iPad or a Mac.

Select the text or image on your iPhone, then tap Copy.

On your other device, either tap (on another iPhone or an iPad) or place the pointer (on a Mac) where you want to paste the text or image, then tap or click Paste. You can also use keyboard shortcuts.

Note: When you copy the content, it’s available on your Clipboard for a short amount of time.

How to copy and paste on an iPhone or iPad

Select and copy text: Double-tap with one finger to select a word or triple-tap with one finger to select a paragraph. (You can also move the grab points to adjust your selection.) Then tap Copy.

Select and copy an image: Touch and hold to select an image, then tap Copy.

Paste text or an image: Tap where you want to paste the text or image, then tap Paste.

How to copy and paste on a Mac

Select text or an image: With your pointer, select the text or image you want to copy.

Copy text or an image: Press Command-C or choose Edit > Copy from the menu bar.

Paste text or an image: Move your pointer where you want to paste the text or image, then press Command-V, or choose Edit > Paste from the menu bar.

If Universal Clipboard isn’t working

Make sure that you’re signed in to the same Apple Account on both devices.

Make sure that your iPhone and Mac have Wi-Fi , Bluetooth , and Handoff turned on.

Your devices must be within 30 feet (10 meters) of one another.

If you’re having difficulty getting Universal Clipboard to work, restart your devices and try again.
