About Taylor Swift in Vienna Tickets 2024
The size and scale of Taylor Swift’s Eras World Tour are such that her visit to Europe is far more comprehensive than in previous trips, and that means far more people can see the legend up close and personal.
Taylor Swift was due to play at Vienna’s Ernst-Happel Stadion on August 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2024, with a phenomenal experience expected and upwards of 50,000 adoring fans in attendance. However, all three shows in Vienna were cancelled after three teenagers with ISIS-connections were arrested due to a terrorist plot against the concerts, just a day before the first show.
The stadium is a regular stop for superstar acts to visit on their tours, with The Rolling Stones , Ed Sheeran , Harry Styles , Bruce Springsteen , and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers having all played in the last year or two.
Vienna is an ideal date for Swifties across Europe and beyond as it’s a very accessible city, both in terms of its geographical location but also its transportation links. It’s also a truly unique city in terms of cultural importance, and there’s a reason it’s known as the “City of Music!”
It’s where both Beethoven and Mozart called home, and it’s a city with awesome nightlife and amazing architecture, making it a great place to hop on a mini-break.
This would have been the first time a Taylor Swift tour has made a stop in Austria, which offered Swifties a first chance to take in her show in magical surroundings.
Check out the availability of Taylor Swift Vienna tickets now, and make sure you get your tickets before they all sell out. You’ll find the best deals around here at SeatPick via our easy-to-use platform.

Here’s How to Get Taylor Swift Eras Tour Tickets (Even if They’ve Sold Out)
If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.
Taylor Swift ‘s Eras Tour might be ending later this year, but it’s already become the most successful tour in history, grossing over $1 billion in ticket sales — and, of course, selling out immediately.
“A lot of you are like, ‘How are you going to celebrate the 100th show?’” Swift recently said at her Liverpool show, later referencing the official end of the Eras Tour later this year. “And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December, like that’s it. And that feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour, because you have made this so much fun for us.”
So far in 2024, the Eras Tour has seen appearances from everyone from Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce during The Tortured Poets Department section of show, to the debut of Swift’s duet with Gracie Abrams of “Us,” from the singer-songwriter’s new album.
Swift previously delighted fans when she released her Grammy-winning album Midnights and announced a new tour in 2022. But Swifties weren’t feeling happy right after tickets initially went on sale, as overwhelming demand for Swift tickets caused Ticketmaster to cancel its public on-sale and prices to soar.
While Ticketmaster was initially the official selling partner for Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets , thousands of fans were previously left out of luck before the verified presale by Ticketmaster even ended. Fans had to sign up for the presale and be “invited” for a chance to buy tickets. And while the intention was good — no competing with bots for the best seats — few people actually got the chance to place an order.

Collect Swift’s critically acclaimed new studio LP on vinyl with this Target exclusive.
And while Swift’s run of U.S. dates initially were scheduled to wrap up in Los Angeles — just as August 2023 started to already slip away — the star announced that the Eras Tour would make a comeback in 2024, with a slew of North American dates scheduled in Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis, before heading to Toronto for six dates at the Rogers Centre with Gracie Abrams.
“Turns out it’s NOT the end of an era 😝 Miami, New Orleans, Indy and Toronto: The Eras Tour is coming to you in 2024 with @gracieabrams!” Swift shared in a post on social media August 3, 2023.
If you didn’t get lucky enough to buy Taylor Swift tickets the first time around, here’s where else you might find sold-out Eras Tour stubs online.
Where to Buy Taylor Swift Tickets Online
Your best bet to find Swift tickets online now is likely to go through a reseller if you don’t get them through Ticketmaster ‘s Verified Fan registration and Verified Fan Onsale, with many of them offering discounts or promo codes that you can use for Taylor tickets.
Our suggestion: Do a little price comparison between the sites to find the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets online, and check back closer to the concert date in case ticket holders are trying to unload their seats — that’s when you’ll likely get the cheapest tickets online.
1. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on StubHub
Taylor Swift tickets on StubHub currently are on sale for as low as $311 for her Fourth of July show in Amsterdam, and as much as $2,440 for the Miami show on October 18. While there isn’t an active StubHub promo online right now, the site does have one of the best policies in case Swift has to cancel one of her shows. If an event is canceled, the site will give you a StubHub credit for 120% of the amount you paid.
2. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on Vivid Seats
Tickets on Vivid Seats currently start around the $2,100 mark for 300-level seats for Swift’s Miami dates, with cheaper tickets available for dates outside of the U.S. (like, $275 USD for Amsterdam dates). Use our exclusive Rolling Stone promo code RS2024 at checkout to save $20 off your $200+ order through the mobile app. Vivid Seats also has a rewards program that lets you buy 10 tickets and get the 11th ticket free.
3. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on TicketNetwork
You might not be able to find Taylor Swift tickets on Ticketmaster, but we spotted great seats available on TicketNetwork.com . The resale site has seats from $1,129 online for her upcoming Dublin show, which is not cheap but still one of the lowest prices we’re seeing for the Ireland dates. TicketNetwork also works with Affirm, so you can buy your tickets now and pay over time. Want a Taylor Swift discount code? You can use TicketNetwork ‘s promo code RS150 saves you $150 off your order of $500, or RS300 for a $300 discount on a $1,000 order.
4. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on SeatGeek
We spotted many Taylor Swift tickets on SeatGeek as of this writing, and the site is usually a solid bet for resale tickets to popular concerts and events. Use the SeatGeek promo code ROLLINGSTONE10 to get $10 off your $250+ ticket purchase. It’s not a huge discount but still a chance to get save on Taylor tix. SeatGeek will also often offer other promo codes, if you’re looking for discounted Taylor Swift tickets, so we recommend keeping an eye out on their site.
5. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on Gametime
Another trustworthy resale site you can look for Eras Tour tickets is Gametime . Of course, Taylor Swift ticket prices can change at any time, but right now, the cheapest tickets for the Miami opener this October Swifties will find on the site start around $2,153 per ticket. Sometimes Gametime will offer a deal or promotion on tickets, so keep an eye out for discounted tickets on the site’s sidebar for flash deals.
6. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on Viagogo
The most affordable tickets we spotted for Swift’s Miami dates on resale site Viagogo start around $2,267 per ticket, which gets you a seat in the 300-level area of the Hard Rock Stadium. We like shopping for tickets on Viagogo because you can see what your view will be before buying the tickets on its site. But as most Swifties have discovered, there’s really no bad seat for the Eras Tour.
7. Find Taylor Swift Tickets on TicketLiquidator
Resale site TicketLiquidator has several available tickets to the upcoming Eras Tour dates. We spotted tickets for the opening night in Miami this October starting at $3,500+ for the 300-level section, and going up to as much as $7,500 for floor seats.
(Note: All of these promo codes were live and verified at time of this article’s publishing.)

What Stage Setup Can You Expect at the Eras Tour?
If you’re stumped on which tickets to get, checking out the stage layout is pretty helpful, and super easy to find while you’re purchasing tickets. While each stage layout may differ slightly depending on the stadium, it looks like all will have a main stage, a walkway leading to a diamond-shaped smaller stage, and finally, a ramp leading to a rectangular mini-stage (see below for an example). Obviously, Eras Tour tickets surrounding the main stage will be the priciest but you might find some decent prices next to the secondary stages.

Taylor Swift's reign continues with the latest leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter kicked off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.
Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift released her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, and the Swiftie hype has continued throughout the summer.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.
Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options. You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.
Taylor Swift international tour dates
The Eras Tour international dates resumed on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. Multiple shows have age restrictions for younger kids and specifics on seating and adult accompaniment. A few venues require that a ticketholder's ID matches the name on the tickets, and others have varying policies on resale. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.
Taylor Swift North American tour dates
The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.
How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour
Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.
Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.
On StubHub, UK tour dates come with a note that ticket terms don't permit resale through unauthorized channels and might not be valid for entry. If this ends up being the case, StubHub notes that its FanProtect Guarantee will cover purchasers.
How much are Taylor Swift tickets?
Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. Some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.
StubHub's cheapest remaining European listings range from £524 (London, England on August 15) to £616 (London, England on August 17). In USD, this equates to about $669 and $786. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest listings for these dates go for $508 and $569, respectively. Prices on both platforms have dropped significantly for the final UK dates.
When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,637 (Toronto, Canada, on November 23) to $2,691 (Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 2). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,600 and $2,300. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,787 and $2,451, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?
Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore is opening for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act. Earlier in the tour, Swift had Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, MUNA, HAIM, and more open for her.
Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?
Taylor Swift has already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations.
During her 100th show, a mid-June performance in Liverpool, Swift acknowledged that the tour would conclude in December. "The celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," Swift told the crowd in a moment that was widely captured and posted across social media. This statement means that the Eras Tour is unlikely to extend past 2024, but we'll keep this guide updated if Swift announces any changes (or additions) to her tour lineup.
Were any tour dates canceled?
Taylor Swift was originally scheduled to play three Eras Tour shows from August 9 to 11, 2024, in Vienna, Austria. However, the shows were canceled after Austrian officials confirmed that multiple individuals were arrested on suspicion of planning an attack at one of the shows. As of August 12, no other Eras Tours performances have been canceled.
Is The Tortured Poets Department a part of the Eras Tour?
It's good news for fans of "The Tortured Poets Department," Swift's new album that dropped on April 19, 2024. Swift is incorporating several of the new tracks into the Eras Tour, as evidenced by the first shows of her European leg. "The Tortured Poets Department" songs currently featured on tour include "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."
Since the Eras Tour is already pretty long, this means that Swift is also cutting down a few songs from past Eras that previously made the tour setlist. The songs that were removed from the setlist include "The Archer," "Long Live," "The 1," "The Last Great American Dynasty," "'Tis the Damn Season," and "Tolerate It."
Where can I stream The Eras Tour concert film?
If you'd rather watch The Eras Tour from home, you could always stream it on Disney+. Check out everything you need to know about streaming The Eras Tour concert film in our guide .
Note: Certain services and regions prohibit the resale of tickets. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal reselling of tickets, and entry into an event is at the venue's discretion.

How much do tickets cost to see taylor swift’s ‘eras tour’ in austria.
There’s a huge three-day music festival unlike any other headed to Vienna, Austria.
What makes this extravaganza particularly unique is that only two artists are slated to perform.
On Aug. 8-10, Taylor Swift will bring her international ‘Eras Tour’ to the Ernst Happel Stadium for a trio of huge shows with special guest Paramore.
These three concerts at the massive 51,000-seat soccer stadium will be Swift’s first ever in Austria over the course of her legendary career.
Better yet, based on our findings , ticket prices have dropped significantly since the release of Taylor’s “Tortured Poets Department” in April.
Way back then, the cheapest ticket for any one of the three shows at the Ernst Happel Stadium was $761 USD before fees on Vivid Seats.
A mere three months later, prices now start at $241 before fees on Vivid Seats.
For those without a calculator on hand, that’s over $500 (!) in savings.
Sometimes “all of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation” as Tay Tay sings in “Dress,” really does pay off.
For more information, we have everything you need to know and more about Taylor Swift’s three ‘Eras Tour’ concerts at Vienna, Austria’s Ernst Happel Stadium below.
All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ news
Our team has been following the ‘Eras Tour’ closely over the past year.
Just a few of the most exciting stories we’ve published include a chat with a Swiftie who shared some helpful tips about seeing Taylor live, a report on dropping ticket prices , and a list of all the most exciting fan trends .
Taylor Swift new music
Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” was released at midnight (and subsequently at 2 a.m.) on Friday, April 19.
While every listener will likely come away with their own favorites, we particularly enjoyed the sleek, synthy “Fortnight,” icy “So Long, London,” anthemic “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” a bombastic slow build of “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and gorgeously arranged “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus.”
If you want to give it a spin — if you’re one of the few people on the planet who hasn’t already, that is — you can find “The Tortured Poets Department” here .
The Hayley Williams-fronted pop-punk rockers are opening for Swift from May through August this year. This may come as a bit of a surprise to some fans considering that the group mounted a successful arena tour of their own in 2023.
That tour came on the heels of Paramore’s 2022 reunion; Prior to that, the band had been on a five-year hiatus.
For fans who want to check out their latest, their 2023 album “This Is Why” can be heard here .
Huge stars on tour in 2024
Although it will cost an arm and a leg (sometimes more!) to see Swift live this year, there are much more affordable — likely stateside — concerts you can attend this year.
Here are just five of our favorite artists you won’t want to miss live.
• Olivia Rodrigo
• Kacey Musgraves
• Sabrina Carpenter
• Gracie Abrams
• Billie Eilish

Taylor Swift Says She Felt ‘Fear’ and ‘Guilt’ After Canceled Vienna Shows
The three stops in Austria on the pop star’s Eras Tour were canceled after the authorities discovered a terrorist plot targeting the concerts.
By Matt Stevens
Taylor Swift said Wednesday that she was devastated by the cancellation of her Eras Tour concerts in Vienna, adding that the terrorist plot that had targeted her shows there had filled her “with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming.”
In an Instagram post celebrating the end of the European leg of her tour, Ms. Swift offered her first public comments about the three derailed shows, which were called off after officials in Austria said they had arrested two men accused of plotting a terrorist attack. One of the men, they said, had recently pledged allegiance to the Islamic State online and had focused on the Eras Tour as a potential target.
Nearly 200,000 people had been expected to attend the Vienna concerts, which were to start on Aug. 8.
In her social media post published on Wednesday, Ms. Swift said she was grateful to the authorities, “because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
“I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London,” she said of the next stop on her tour. “My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us.”
“Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” she continued. “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.”
Thousands of fans who had been eager to spend a few hours with Ms. Swift in Vienna — including many who traveled great distances to see her — shed tears over the canceled concerts . Many others who had planned to see her the following week in London endured anxious days , worrying both about their personal safety and about whether the highlight of their summer would also be called off.
But Ms. Swift’s shows went on as planned, a fact that she celebrated in her Instagram post.
“All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance,” she said. “The energy in that stadium was like the most giant bear hug from 92,000 people each night, and it brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there.”

Taylor Swift Addresses Canceled Eras Tour Shows In Vienna
The dates were called off due to a foiled terror plot.
Taylor Swift has broken her silence on the canceled Eras Tour dates in Vienna, Austria, that were called off due to a terrorist plot . In a statement posted to Instagram on Aug. 21, Swift wrote that concluding the European leg of the Eras Tour at London’s Wembley Stadium was a “rollercoaster of emotions,” and explained why she remained silent on the canceled Vienna shows until now.
“Having our Vienna shows canceled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows,” she wrote. “I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
Addressing those who criticized her for not speaking out sooner, she continued, “Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans. In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to.”
Swift added that her priority was finishing the European tour safely, concluding, “It is with great relief that I can say we did that.”
Foiled Eras Tour Terror Plot
Swift was scheduled to perform three shows at the Ernst-Happel Stadium in Vienna between Aug. 8-10. It was confirmed by the singer’s official fan account, Taylor Nation, that the concerts had been canceled. Swift’s website also confirmed the canceled dates , stating that all tickets would be refunded.
On Aug. 7, Vienna police held a press conference , announcing that two suspects had undertaken “concrete preparatory measures” for a terrorist attack and had been arrested. “From the current standpoint of the investigation we assume that the target of the attack were events in the Vienna region,” they said. Two days later, authorities confirmed a third arrest had been made.
Swift continued her Eras Tour after the foiled terrorist attack, concluding the European leg on Aug. 20 in London — where she made history, again . After wrapping up the concert, the singer officially became the first solo artist to play eight shows at Wembley Stadium in a single tour , breaking Michael Jackson’s 1988 record.
“You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour,” Swift said to the crowd. “We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it.”

Swift’s emotional post comes a few weeks after three of her shows were canceled and three teenagers were arrested over a terrorist plot where her concerts were set to take place.
The main suspect, a 19-year-old, planned to target people who gathered outside the stadium — which could be up to 30,000 a night — with knives or homemade explosives. Two other teens were arrested and a 15-year-old was interrogated but released.

Taylor Swift Explained Why She Waited To Address Her Canceled Vienna ‘The Eras Tour’ Concerts In A Lengthy Statement
Earlier this month, Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concerts scheduled for August 8-10 in Vienna, Austria were canceled after Austrian officials arrested two men allegedly plotting a terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadion. Swift went forward with completing the European leg of The Eras Tour by returning to London’s Wembley Stadium on August 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20.
On Wednesday, August 21, Swift publicly commented on the Vienna cancelations for the first time. Swift posted an Instagram carousel of photos from her final five Wembley Stadium performances alongside a lengthy caption, as seen below:
“In summation We have officially wrapped the European leg of The Eras Tour . With it came the most passionate crowds I’ve ever played for, new traditions in the show, and an entirely new era added in. It was a more hectic pace than we’d done before, and I’m so proud of my crew/fellow performers for being able to physically perform that show and build our massive stage, take it apart, and make magic with so few days in between for recovery and travel. They’re the most impressive people I know and I’m so lucky they gave The Eras Tour their time, their energy, and their expertise. Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions. Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance. We had some EPIC surprise performances from my long time friends @teddysphotos, @florenceandthemachine, and @jackantonoff. Performing ‘Florida!!!’ with Flo for the first time was unforgettable and Ed took me right back to our old Red Tour memories. It was the most dizzying honor to become the first solo artist to play Wembley 8 times in one tour. To the fans who have seen us this summer, you’ll always have the most sparkling place in my memories. You were a dream to perform for, dance with, and share those magical moments with. We’ll see you all again when we resume The Eras Tour in October, but for now we get to take a much needed rest. Thank you for the adventure of a lifetime. May it continue…”
Swift will conclude The Eras Tour with a second, much shorter North American leg, which will begin at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida on October 18. Gracie Abrams will return as the opener. Swift’s final The Eras Tour show is scheduled for December 8 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Taylor Swift Has Explained Why She Did Not Publicly Comment On The Canceled Vienna Shows Until She’d Safely Completed The European Leg Of Her Eras Tour
After her silence came under scrutiny, Taylor explained why she did not comment on the canceled concerts earlier.
BuzzFeed Staff
Earlier this month, three Taylor Swift concerts scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, were canceled following a thwarted terrorist attack.
The three shows were due to kick off at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion on Thursday, Aug. 8, but on the evening of Aug. 7, two people were arrested on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack at the concert.
A statement from the organizers read at the time: “Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone's safety. All tickets will be automatically refunded within the next 10 working days."
A third person was arrested in connection with the planned attack on Aug. 9, and according to police, one of the suspects confessed to intending to “kill as many people as possible.”
In addition to the estimated 65,000 Swifties who were due to attend each of Taylor’s shows, about 20,000 to 35,000 non-ticket holders were expected to gather outside the stadium each night.
After the concerts were canceled, fans gathered across the city to sing Taylor’s songs and swap friendship bracelets, with Austria’s chancellor, Karl Nehammer, directly addressing the disappointed fans over the government’s decision.
“I understand very well that those who wanted to experience the concert live are very sad,” he said at the time. “Moms and dads are caring for their daughters and sons, who had been full of enthusiasm and excitement about this concert. But it’s also important that in such serious moments like now, safety inevitably has to come first.”
While fans have been refunded for their tickets, many have claimed that they only received 80% of the money they paid out back, with 20% apparently being kept as a “service fee.”
A vast amount of fans were also left out of pocket from non-refundable travel and accommodation arrangements that they’d made for the shows.
Through all of this, Taylor remained silent. One week later, she took to the stage in London, England, where she concluded the European leg of her record-breaking tour with five consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium.
Taylor’s silence was upsetting for some Vienna Swifties, and the star faced scrutiny for not commenting on the canceled shows.
But on Wednesday, the star broke her silence in an Instagram post . In it, she admitted to feeling “a tremendous amount of guilt” over Vienna, and explained that she didn’t want to comment until the European leg had been completed safely.
Taylor spoke out as she shared a selection of photos from her Wembley concerts while reflecting on the European dates as a whole.
“We have officially wrapped the European leg of The Eras Tour,” she began. “With it came the most passionate crowds I’ve ever played for, new traditions in the show, and an entirely new era added in.”
“It was a more hectic pace than we’d done before, and I’m so proud of my crew/fellow performers for being able to physically perform that show and build our massive stage, take it apart, and make magic with so few days in between for recovery and travel,” Taylor went on. “They’re the most impressive people I know and I’m so lucky they gave The Eras Tour their time, their energy, and their expertise.”
The star then added: “Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions. Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
“I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London,” Taylor explained. “My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us.”
“Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” Taylor then stated. “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to.”
“My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that,” she continued. “And then London felt like a beautiful dream sequence. All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance. The energy in that stadium was like the most giant bear hug from 92,000 people each night, and it brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there.”
Taylor went on to shout out Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, and Jack Antonoff for joining her on stage for surprise performances in London, and concluded the post with: “To the fans who have seen us this summer, you’ll always have the most sparkling place in my memories. You were a dream to perform for, dance with, and share those magical moments with.”
Referencing the next stop on her tour, which will be in Miami, Florida, in October, she added: “We’ll see you all again when we resume The Eras Tour in October, but for now we get to take a much needed rest. Thank you for the adventure of a lifetime. May it continue…”
News of the foiled terrorist plot came just over one week after Taylor had issued an emotional statement after three children aged 6, 7, and 9 years old were killed at a yoga and dance workshop inspired by her music in Southport, England.
Two adults and six more children were critically injured in the attack.
The day after the attack, Taylor wrote on her Instagram story: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock… The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders.”
“These were just little kids at a dance class,” she went on. “I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”
And in November, 23-year-old Swiftie Ana Clara Benevides Machado tragically died while attending the star’s Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her cause of death is believed to be connected to the dangerous heatwave that was impacting Brazil during the show.
Taylor wrote on Instagram at the time: “I can't believe I'm writing these words. but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and far too young.”
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it," she went on. "I want to say now that I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil."
Ana had flown to Rio from her small district of Sonora especially for Taylor’s concert, and after her heartbroken mom broke down in tears over the fact that the family couldn’t afford to fly her daughter’s body home, Swifties took it upon themselves to crowdfund the money that was needed.

Taylor Swift Says Canceling Eras Tour Shows in Vienna Due to Terrorist Plot Was ‘Devastating' and ‘Filled Me With a New Sense of Fear'
Taylor Swift has spoken out after three of her Eras Tour dates in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following a thwarted terrorist attack that led to the arrest of two men.
In a post on Instagram commemorating the end of the European leg of the show, which just wrapped at London's Wembley Stadium, Swift shared that she was overwhelmed by the cancellations and that they instilled a sense of fear and trepidation.
"Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions," she wrote in a caption. "Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.
"I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together," she continued. "I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows."
She addressed fans taking note that she hadn't issued a statement in the days that followed the cancelations, stating that it was to see the Eras Tour through to a safe conclusion. "In cases like this one, ‘silence' is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it's right to," she wrote. "My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that. And then London felt like a beautiful dream sequence. All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance. The energy in that stadium was like the most giant bear hug from 92,000 people each night, and it brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there."
Swift was initially slated to take the stage at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium on Aug. 8-10 as part of the international leg of her Eras Tour. But authorities canceled the shows after two men were arrested just outside of Vienna in the town of Ternitz.
The apprehended subjects were a 19-year-old who pledged his allegiance to ISIS and lived with his parents, as well as two other men. Police raided the 19-year-old's home and found various chemicals and substances, which were being tested to see if they could be used to create a bomb. Authorities said that the men had recently been radicalized through the internet and had specific plans on how the attack would transpire.
At first, authorities said that the concerts could continue with added security, but hours after news of the arrest, they decided to cancel the shows. Police Chief Gerhard Purstl claimed that the concrete danger had been "minimized," but that an "abstract danger" remained.
Austrian concert promoter Barracuda Music confirmed the terroristic threat in a statement announcing the cancelations. "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Vienna Shows cancelled due to government officials confirmation of planned terrorist attack," read the statement. "With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety."
Swift just finished up the final stretch of her Eras Tour with five dates at for London's Wembley Stadium. She'll soon return to North America to conclude the tour in November with six dates at Toronto's Rogers Centre and three at Vancouver's BC Place.
In a subsequent caption, she celebrated the conclusion of the European Eras Tour shows by thanking her surprise guests Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch and Jack Antonoff. And, of course, she concluded by showing love to the fans who came out in droves to support the performances.
"To the fans who have seen us this summer, you'll always have the most sparkling place in my memories," she stated. "You were a dream to perform for, dance with, and share those magical moments with. We'll see you all again when we resume The Eras Tour in October, but for now we get to take a much needed rest. Thank you for the adventure of a lifetime. May it continue…"

Taylor Swift ends European leg of Eras tour with surprise-packed show
LONDON - Taylor Swift was joined by surprise guest Florence Welch for her first live performance of "Florida!!!" during the final European date of her Eras tour on Tuesday.
The pop megastar also debuted "So Long, London", a ballad that fans widely believe is about the end of her relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, in the acoustic section of the show at Wembley Stadium.
Both tracks feature on Swift's eleventh studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department", which was released this year. Welch, of British indie rock band Florence + the Machine, co-wrote "Florida!!!" and sang on the recorded track.
Fans from near and far had travelled to London's Wembley Stadium for the show, Swift's fifth in the British capital in August and eighth this summer, as they snapped up the last opportunity to see her critically acclaimed show in Europe.
The London nights followed the cancellation of her shows in Vienna, when a planned attack was foiled by authorities.
Some of the 195,000 disappointed fans in Vienna rushed to buy tickets for the London dates on resale sites, where they were changing hands for up to 10 times face value.
Swift told the crowd that she had become the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour. "We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it," she said.
Eras, the first tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue, showcases all 11 of Swift's studio albums in dedicated sections. Her performances and the show's staging have been praised by critics.
Fans arriving in Wembley, dressed in sequins, cowboy hats, and forearms covered in friendship bracelets ready to swap with other Swifties, faced tight security checks.
While British police have said there was nothing to indicate the events in Vienna would impact any of the shows at Wembley, there was highly visible security at the stadium.
Tay-gating, the practice of gathering outside a Swift show without a ticket, as thousands did in Munich last month, has been banned, as authorities try to reduce harder-to-control risks outside the venue.
Marie Wright, aged 48, from Limerick, Ireland, bought tickets on a resale site on Monday evening and flew to London on Tuesday with her daughter’s best friend Aoife McCarthy, aged 15. Her own daughter had already seen the show in Dublin.
"She’s going to leave Europe, so we had to come for the last night," McCarthy said.
"Her songs have real meaning and there’s a poetry to them,” Wright added.
The tour returns to the United States in October and ends in Vancouver, Canada, in December. REUTERS

Chris martin covers taylor swift’s ‘love story’ in vienna two weeks after terror plot forced her to cancel eras tour shows.
Chris Martin gave a special performance in Vienna after Taylor Swift fans were unable to attend her Austria shows due to a last-minute cancellation .
The Coldplay frontman played a cover of “Love Story” for the crowd at Austria’s Ernst Happel Stadium during the band’s Wednesday show — two weeks after the pop star was forced to cancel her Eras Tour performances due to a violent threat.
“If this is not good, please, please don’t put it on YouTube because I don’t want to get in trouble with Taylor,” Martin told the audience, per a clip posted on X .
Martin was joined onstage by Maggie Rogers for the rousing rendition.
Swift had been scheduled to perform three nights in Vienna beginning on Aug. 8.
The day before, Barracuda Music announced that all three shows were canceled following the arrest of several people with ISIS connections.
“With confirmation from the government officials of a planned terrorist attack … we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” a statement shared on Instagram read.

The suspects, who were apprehended by authorities, reportedly planned to drive a car filled with bombs into the crowd.
On Wednesday, the “Bad Blood” singer, 34, broke her silence on the cancellation and terror plot, defending her decision to remain silent about the harrowing incident as she looked out for the safety of her fans.
“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows,” she posted on Instagram.
“But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
Swift also explained that she would “not speak about something publicly” when “doing so might provoke” anyone seeking to harm the fans attending her shows.
“In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that,” she added.
Swift recently concluded the European leg of her Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London. She’s next scheduled to perform stateside in Miami from Oct.18 through Oct. 20 before jetting to New Orleans and Indianapolis.

Coldplay Perform ‘Love Story’ in Vienna, Dedicate Song to Taylor Swift Fans Who Missed ‘Eras Tour’ Shows
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and his opening act, Maggie Rogers , performed Taylor Swift ’s “Love Story” in Vienna two weeks after she was forced to cancel her Eras Tour concerts there.
On Wednesday, August 21, Martin, 47, and Rogers, 30, covered the 2008 hit at Ernst Happel Stadium, where Swift, 34, had been scheduled to take the stage on August 8, 9 and 10 before she pulled the plug on those performances amid an alleged terror plot .
“If this is not good, please don’t put it on YouTube because I don’t want to get in trouble with Taylor,” said Martin, dedicating the song to Swift’s fans who were supposed to attend her Vienna shows. “And if you could sing with us, that would be wonderful.”
Taking Martin’s cue, the crowd sang along with the musicians during the acoustic set, in which Martin strummed the guitar and Rogers evoked Swift’s emotional vocal style. Rogers later posted the footage via Instagram , writing, “f rom vienna with love 💗💗💗, ” and tagging Swift.

Earlier Wednesday, Swift spoke out for the first time since the cancellations.
“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption . “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. Swift continued, “I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us.”
She then explained why she chose to stay mum after the news about the thwarted attack.
“Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” she wrote. “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.”
Swift wrapped the European leg of her Eras Tour in London on Tuesday, August 20. She’s set to take a two-month break before resuming performances in Miami in October.

Taylor Swift tickets: Every country The Eras Tour is playing at this year
Taylor Swift may have only just left the UK, but she's not done working just yet. The star is about to embark on even more gigs before the year is out, and you can still get involved.
- 11:18, 23 Aug 2024
This week, Taylor Swift brought the UK and European leg of her Eras Tour to an end. She capped it off with her eighth sold-out show at Wembley Stadium before finally jetting back off to North America.
And, although the Lavender Haze singer has bid farewell to her live audiences, she still has a few hurdles left before she can finally switch off. 18 shows worth of hurdles, in fact.
Beginning on October 18, Taylor Swift will be returning to the USA to play even more shows on her Eras Tour, beginning the absolute and definitive end of her world tour once and for all. And she has plenty of shows fans can attend to see her play.

Beginning in Miami, Taylor Swift will be playing throughout the USA in New Orleans and Indianapolis until November. From there, she'll spend some time in Canada, in such cities as Toronto and Vancouver, before finally making her way back home.
The full list of shows is below, but fans of the star who might want to see her can still purchase tickets right now. By using ticket-sellers such as viagogo, StubHub and more, Swifties can grab last-minute tickets to concerts - even if they're half the world away.
viagogo and resale tickets
Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.
With that said, viagogo also commented: "viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee."
How to buy Taylor Swift tickets now
Taylor Swift tickets for her international Eras Tour shows are available right now through online resellers. These tickets are being bought and sold by fans, and are usually backed by a guarantee from the purchase website.
As a result, this will be dedicated fans' final chance to see the star play live in 2024. Even more daunting is that Taylor Swift has no more live shows planned at the moment, meaning she may not be back for a very long time - if at all.

Swift has had an eventful summer. See Vienna cancelations, potential political endorsements
August is seemingly slipping away into a moment in time , especially for Swift. The month has been eventful for the songstress.
Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shows in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following an alleged plot to attack the stadium. Three people were arrested for allegedly planning to attack Taylor Swift’s first concert.
According to officials and news reports, police arrested a 19-year-old Austrian who is accused of planning an attack at Ernst Happel Stadium with “bladed weapons” and the "construction of a bomb." A 17-year-old who would have been working at the stadium during Swift's concert was also arrested and a 15-year-old was questioned by police.
Swift nor her team addresses the cancelations or the alleged attack. She went on to perform her six sold out shows in London a week later.
In other news for the popstar, both U.S. presidential candidates are eying her prized endorsement. After Swift posted to Instagram last fall to remind her followers to vote, a record of more than 30,000 people signed up through Vote.org during National Voter Registration Day. Many of the signups were in Florida, according to USA TODAY.
Some have speculated Swift has shown her support for Vice President Kamala Harris at her concerts, with her fans starting "Swifties for Kamala" events. Former President Donald Trump has also tried to get her fans' attention , posting artificially generated images alluding to her alleged support on his social media platform Truth Social .
