Magical Dubai Tour

Magical Dubai

Dubai is incredible & such an amazing city! Very well planned and organized tour. We had a fantastic guide who explained everything in english well; he was prompt, professional, and polite. The pacing and timing of the tours are well orchestrated, we had enough personal time to rest or venture on our own. The initially advertised hotels in the brochure were not the hotels we ended up staying in (they changed last minute). Although all of the assigned hotels were still 4stars (above average) equipped with gym/pool. Breakfast included entire week: Al Khoory Sky Garden's breakfast is the best & Time Asma Al Barsha's was blah. The only mosque worth the time is the spectacular white marble mega-mosque in Abu Dhabi which is included in the tour (mandatory to cover up from head to toe). The other mosques were fillers: the tour stops for a few minutes for photo shoot (exterior of the building only). The 3 minute camel ride (poor camel!) went around a circle enough time for you to take a picture. We enjoyed the dinner @ the desert; it was good and the show that accompanied it was quite entertaining. Our bus was relatively modern & clean (the windows could use a squeegee), and our driver's skill is impressive! Overall, great vacation!

My UAE trip with Grayline UAE was simply amazing. Great tour! The tour guide of Grayline was very knowledgeable and amusing! Driver was equally nice. The visit to the Sheik Zayed mosque, palaces, art gallery and date market were great! The buffet meal provided during the tour was reasonably priced and tasty. I would definitely go on this tour again. Take cash and stick to a budget if you plan to buy anything at the art galleries - they are very persuasive and would make you buy all the stuff in them! And you'll end up buying more than you intend! Great experience! Awesome time spent with Dubai Private Tour!

They were very prompt or contacted us to let us know if they were running late. The transfer from the airport was good. They allowed us to choose from several great hotels. The activities were the highlights of any tour to Dubai. I would definitely recommend this package to my friends and family if they are coming to Dubai.

Dubai Luxury Holidays Package 6 Night 7 Days

Despite the very hot weather, we enjoyed the tour. If I could make some input, the First day which was Dubai City Tour, no lunch time set aside. The trip to Abu Dhabi, the lunch period is less than an hour and took us to buffet restaurants that is not practical I think for that amount of period considering the prize we have to pay. The dinner cruise tour, they made us wait for 3 hours almost then ended up not picking us at all. They compensate through the VIP section when they rescheduled it in the Desdert Safari Other than that we enjoyed our trip. The highlight is the Burj Kkalifa and Dessert Safari. Thanks Madelene

My Dubai tour was an absolute delight. The city's stunning skyline, rich culture, and luxurious attractions surpassed all my expectations. From traditional souks to futuristic skyscrapers, Dubai offers a unique blend of old and new. Thanks to Relax Gateways and their meticulous planning, every moment was smooth and enjoyable. If you're looking for a destination that offers a perfect mix of modernity and tradition, Dubai is the place to be. Dubai offers you a lot of activities to do. Go for it.

Small group tour of Egypt was outstanding. Although I don't remember the various guides names, they were all awesome and very personable people. Their knowledge of the history of Egypt was exceptional and made the trip a memorable experience. We did most of the optional excursions and they were worthwhile as well. Some long days in there, but highly worth it. Traffic is very slow in Egypt and it takes a bit of time to get anywhere. This is not Indus' fault-it's part of the total experience. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in the 3000 year history of this fantastic and mysterious country.

This was our first time using Indus. We took the Ancient Egypt and Modern Dubai trip and were beyond pleased with the itinerary, choice of hotels and staff service. We felt well guided and taken care of. We hope to use Indus again in the near future!!

All of the tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. My only issues were that we paid for a 5 star hotel and we got a 4 star hotel. I let a representative know about this hotel discrepancy and nothing was done or corrected. It was never addressed. Also, we were not informed that we would not be seeing certain listed sites until I asked why we didn't see them. I was then told they were closed due to Covid. Those sites are still listed in the online brochure and thus included in the price.

Very well arranged tour with constant communication. The package included everything I wanted to see. We had the perfect amount of group time and independent time. What people love about united arab emirates tours.

Sehr viel gesehen, sehr gute Organisation, gutes Essen, ausgezeichneter Reiseleiter, insgesamt sehr zufriedenstellend.

United Arab Emirates Tours & Vacations

The beautiful white Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

To many travelers, the United Arab Emirates mean just one thing: a stopover. It’s a place to endure rather than to enjoy; somewhere to touch down in, scoot through, and take off from ASAP. Truth is however, those who consider the country little more than a proverbial pit stop are missing out. Beyond Abu Dhabi’s skyline and in between Dubai’s shopping malls, a whole range of real world adventures await. Hop atop a camel for a lope along desert dunes…or charter a chopper. Break bread with Bedouins…or dine with the fishes in a restaurant aquarium. Tour an old spice market…or withdraw gold bars at vending machines. This is ancient Arabia with an open cheque book.

Best time to visit uae.

Simply put, the UAE is hot. Very hot. Year-round, daytime temperatures rarely drop below 77.F, and, during summer, roar well into the 100s. November to March are the cooler – though by no means cool – months, when tempering sea breezes drift in from the coast. Don’t be too put-off by the prospect of traveling during summer though (July to August), as the cities are covered and air-conditioned.

History and government

Very few countries have had as dramatic turnabouts in their fortunes as the UAE. Prior to the discovery of the region’s vast petroleum and gas reserves in 1958, the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula was a conglomeration of ‘Trucial States’ heavily dependent on a fated pearling industry and British protection against neighboring powerhouses.

In what was an unusual move given the recent discovery of the 'black gold', 1968 saw Britain decide that the area was no longer worth protecting. The British naval forces withdrew in 1971, and, as Iran and Saudi Arabia quickly started laying claim to Emirati territory, the seven sheikdoms realized they’d stand a better chance by banding together. Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain (and eventually Ras al-Khaimah) all promptly signed into a union called the United Arab Emirates, electing Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as president. The federation is governed by hereditary monarchies, and things have been peaceful, and prosperous, ever since.

Top 5 ways to delight in the Emirates

For all its obsession with urbanity, the Emirates is still very much a coastal nation. The country encompasses over 400 miles of coastline; plenty of which is warm waters and white sands shaded by palm trees. Better yet, not far from shore sit an abundance of colorful coral reefs teeming with fish. Head out for a snorkel in Sandy Beach, Fujairah, or delve a little deeper still on a diving expedition.

2. Flyboards

No, those photos you’ve seen of people being propelled skywards by two jets of water aren’t the work of Photoshop – that’s the work of flyboarding. And the UAE is as good a place to give it a shot as any. Sign up for a session and give flight to those long-suppressed Astro Boy fantasies.

3. Indoors ski resort

Ok, Whistler it ain’t, but being able to hit the slopes inside a shopping mall – let alone in the Arabian Peninsula – is still an impressive feat. Located in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is an indoor ski resort that includes runs, jumps, rails, lifts, and the world’s very first black diamond run.

4. Desert ice café

No matter what the temperature’s doing outside, things are always well chilly inside at Dubai’s Chillout lounge. With the cooling system set at minus six degrees, this restaurant/cafe is the place to rug up in thermals and sip a hot chocolate while moaning about the cold.

5. Dubai surf pool

The swell doesn’t roll in all that often in this corner of the globe, but it is possible to score surf in the UAE. Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach is the best bet, but a far more reliable one is Abu Dhabi’s Wadi Adventure park, where the waves are guaranteed no matter what the conditions are doing. Not only that though they’ll be whatever type of waves you want. Lefts? Rights? Three foot? Six? Simply rock up at the booth, tell the man at the controls, and the barrels start when you tell them to.

What is the Internet access like in the UAE?

Internet access – be it at cyber cafes or through Wi-Fi – is readily available throughout the UAE. Websites deemed culturally or religiously offensive are blocked however, as are VoIP telephone systems such as Skype.

Can I use my cell phone while in the UAE

Yes. Coverage is excellent throughout the UAE and roaming agreements are in place with most international phone carriers.

What are the toilets like in the UAE?

Public toilets in places frequented by Westerners are generally of the Western-style, sit-down variety. Beyond the cities, squat-style toilets are more common (although these are gradually making way for the Western type).

Can I drink the water in the UAE?

Technically yes, as the tap water is desalinated seawater. People have reported feeling ill from it before however – supposedly because of the hygiene (or lack thereof) of the tank – so filtered water is a safer option.

Are credit cards accepted widely in the UAE?

Yes. All the major cards are widely accepted, though you’ll usually need to pay cash in taxis.

What is ATM access like in the UAE?

ATMs are easily found in the UAE’s urban areas. Most accept Switch, Maestro, Cirrus, Union Pay, Visa and MasterCard.

The Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital (ADFH) is located just outside Abu Dhabi. It is the largest of its kind in the world attracting customers from all over the UAE and the wider Gulf region including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Around 9,000 birds are treated each year for a wide range of ailments. The centre which has a an ophthalmology department, and intensive care unit is equipped to deal with everything from X-Rays, cases of Avian Flu, Falcon Pox, repairing of feathers, and general health checks and provides a 24 hour service. The centre also has two large air conditioned aviaries where falcons can rest while they are moulting, or changing their feathers. Traditionally a way of obtaining food, Falconry today has become more of a national sport and a rite of passage for many young Emirati men, who take their time to train their Falcons, developing a relationship and deep bond with the birds. Groups of friends regularly come together in the evenings to meet and train their birds where the practice becomes more about camaraderie and sharing knowledge than subsistence. The practice of Falconry was recognized by UNESCO in 2012 under the 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity' list. (Photo by Dan Kitwood/Getty Images)

  • Visit Downtown Dubai, packed with incredible sites, including an actual dinosaur skeleton inside a shopping mall and the highest building on the planet, Burj Khalifa.

Expect year-round sunshine – it’s just a case of exactly how hot you like it. October to April provides the most pleasant option (small potential of rain and wind in January and February), with temperatures around 25-28C. From May, these temperatures really rocket between June and September (upwards of 40C) but Dubai offers plenty of incentives to visit then, such as shopping festivals in air-conditioned malls, indoor attractions and fantastic value offers.

These high temperatures require light, breathable clothing, but always have a cover-up for when you hit the air conditioning. Whilst a liberal and popular holiday hotspot, it’s still good to bear in mind that Dubai is a Muslim destination, so dress respectfully outside of your resort (for example, women should wear clothing that covers the shoulders and the knees in shopping malls, and if entering a mosque, hair must be covered). Desert trips are best in comfortable safari-type clothing.

Palm Jumeirah

This ambitious artificial archipelago, created using land reclamation, was one of many projects that put Dubai on the map, with its crescent-like “fronds” extending out from a “trunk” that runs the length of the central section – all the way from the mainland up to Atlantis The Palm. The 5.4km Palm Jumeirah Monorail also runs from the Gateway Towers at the base to Atlantis The Palm and is home to many thousands of private homes, and numerous hotels by some of the world’s leading brands, such as Fairmont, Sofitel, Jumeirah, One&Only, Waldorf Astoria and Anantara.

emirates tours and travels

Jumeirah Beach

One of the original homes of tourism here in the emirate, Dubai’s main beach area is washed by the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf and lined with excellent hotels, such as the iconic wave-like Jumeirah Beach. Also here is Wild Wadi WaterparkTM, which will keep everyone amused for hours, while Jumeirah beach park is a great public space that’s also popular with local families.

Downtown Dubai

The anchor of this futuristic district is the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, which took five years to build and opened in 2010, boasting a staggering 828 metres to its name; from the viewing area at its upper levels, other buildings below seem like crumbs. Inside the Burj Khalifa is the first-ever Armani hotel, while other attentiongrabbing attractions of this area include Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain - both the world’s biggest - where jets of water shoot up to 150 metres high, and seem to “dance” in time to music as they are illuminated by more than 6,000 lights.

Sitting on the south side of Dubai Creek, the oldest part of the city dates to the 1900s, with sandy-coloured buildings, museums and minarets. Here you’ll see Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood with its charming car-free, narrow streets and houses topped with wind towers, or barajeel. The area was previously known as Bastakiya after the Iranian town of Bastak, where the original Iranian settlers came from across the Gulf to take advantage of free land and low taxes. You can find out more about Dubai’s history with a look inside Dubai Museum or browse the rainbow of fabrics, clothes and slippers in the Textile Souk.

Sheikh Zayed Road

Named for the much-revered first president of UAE, this is where life has spread out to from the Creek, and has been the epicentre of development, amassing a collection of skyscrapers each more audacious than the next, such as Emirates Towers. Technically, it’s just part of the highway running across the whole of UAE, but it’s also where you’ll find many of the city’s hotels, restaurants and shops. For example, just some of the junctions off here will take you towards Mall of the Emirates, Gold & Diamond Park, Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Wild Wadi Water Park™, Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina.

emirates tours and travels

Wander one of the city’s oldest districts, dating to around 1841. Once just a sleepy waterside village, Deira soon took over the original settlement of Bur Dubai in scale and is still a cornucopia of ethnicities mixed with tourists, here to check out the souks, where gold is among the cheapest in the world. You can cross Dubai Creek between Deira and Bur Dubai in an ‘abra’ (water taxi) for just AED2 (approximately 40p).

Dubai Marina

Sophisticated, skyscraping, and buzzing – Dubai Marina is designed to evoke Riviera-style living in a contemporary setting. This attractive and central place to play and stay in Dubai is a waterfront development built around a 3.5km canal. Along its banks are Dubai Marina Mall (with around 140 stores); The Address Dubai Marina hotel; Pier 7 Dubai Marina - which boasts seven restaurants, each on its own floor and with a unique atmosphere; and Dubai Marina Yacht Club.

Mall of the Emirates/Al Barsha

Now 11 years old, this place changed the face of shopping in Dubai forever. Billed as the world’s first shopping “resort”, it is a destination in its own right, home to Ski Dubai, hundreds of shops, two hotels including Kempinski Mall of the Emirates, Magic Planet for family entertainment, a 14-screen VOX Cinema, Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre and more than 90 dining options. Al Barsha the residential area surrounding the mall offers affordable accommodation and local dining options close to many of Dubai’s key attractions.

No trip to Dubai would be complete without a desert safari. Hop into a 4x4 and leave the city behind as you head into the wilds of the desert - go dune ‘bashing’ or camel-riding before sunset, then enjoy remote Bedouin-style camps with fireside tales and delicious dinners, or even spend the night sleeping out in tents before returning to Dubai after breakfast.

Jumeirah Beach Residences

This area combines casual outdoor living with top-notch shops, restaurants and the beach. The Walk at JBR, which was Dubai’s first outdoor promenade, has a 1.7km stretch of shops and restaurants and more recently has also been joined by The Beach, with even more dining and leisure options formed around a pedestrian esplanade.

Jebel Ali is the thriving commercial port area of Dubai, around 35km southwest from the city, and given its historic establishment, can also boast one of the most longstanding and largest resorts in the emirate – the JA Jebel Ali Beach Resort, which has a lovely private beach, golf course and a myriad of other leisure attractions. Jebel Ali is also the new home of a dazzling new attraction - Dubai Parks & Resorts. This is the first integrated resort destination in the region, opening in late 2016, and home of LEGOLAND® Dubai, LEGOLAND® Waterpark, motiongate™ Dubai and Bollywood Parks™, as well as Riverland™.

International restaurants and top global chefs are in abundance, but if you want to try Emirati cuisine, you’ll sense a range of regional influences. Most likely, you will find roast lamb with rice and nuts (ghuzi), stuffed vine leaves (warak enab), chickpea and sesame paste (hummus), bulghur wheat with mint and parsley (tabbouleh), spit-cooked meat in pitta bread with garlic sauce (shawama), cooked balls of chickpeas with herbs (falafel) and plenty of fish. Goat may also be on the menu, but no pork, in accordance with Muslim beliefs. Alcohol is tolerated and drinking is possible in the plentiful hotel bars and restaurants.

Culture in Dubai is rooted in Islamic traditions. Emirati men tend to dress in traditional dishdasha or khandura (long white shirt-dress), with ghutra (a white headdress) and agal (a rope worn to keep the ghutra in place), while women tend to wear an abaya (a long black cloak), with a sheyla or hijab (a scarf used to wrap around the face and head). The most religious time of the year is Ramadan, when Muslims fast for approximately a month and a festival atmosphere can be found in the evening when the locals break their fast. But as well as the minarets of mosques, you will also see temples and churches. A new opera house is also set to open this year.

Hares and lizards - such as the spiny-tailed lizard - may scamper around the desert but you would be hard pushed to see much natural wildlife in Dubai these days. However, there are many excellent reserves and conservation projects you can explore – which provide the thrill of seeing the iconic oryx, an Arabian leopard, mountain gazelle, sand gazelle or caracal. In the waters, you might have the chance of spotting the biggest fish of the ocean, a whale shark.

The human history of Dubai dates back to the bronze age (2500BC) when nomadic cattle herders are first thought to have settled in the area. A couple of millennia later and Dubai was still little more than a small fishing settlement until members of the Bani Yas tribe, led by the Maktoum Family, settled at the mouth of the creek in 1833. The creek was a natural harbour and Dubai soon became a centre for the fishing, pearling and sea trade. The population was later buoyed by the lure of tax-free living attracting traders from the Indian subcontinent. Oil was discovered in the 1950s and the first cargo left Dubai in 1969. In 1971, the six emirates agreed a Federal Constitution, gained independence from Britain becoming the United Arab Emirates, with Ras Al Khaimah joining the following year to form the UAE as it is today.

More To Discover

If you want to do more than “fly and flop”, you’ve come to the right place. One way to get the measure of Dubai is to catch it from the air – whether that be via an adrenaline-fuelled skydive over The Palm Jumeirah, or a scenic seaplane ride. Other aerial options include a sunrise hot air balloon experience, which will lift you off the ground 1,200 metres above the desert as you spot oases and the occasional wandering camel below. Kite surfers will love Kite Beach, one of Dubai’s best stretches of sand, and one where watersports operators aplenty await to help you pick up a new skill or hone your talent. Meanwhile at Dubai Mall, you can try a snorkeling cage experience within the huge tank at Dubai Aquarium, or even swim with sharks.

On the back of its incredibly successful financial results and profit share, the airline is hosting a series of exclusive events in Dubai for those eager to be a part of its iconic cabin crew community. The five-star invite-only events, designed exclusively for those who live and work in the UAE, are open to all nationalities.

Their wanderlust is supported with annual leave, annual leave flight tickets, and deeply discounted tickets for themselves, dependants, wider family, and friends, which make for memorable holidays. Excellent medical, dental and life insurance cover, transport to and from work, and free laundry services for uniforms make life stress-free. In Dubai, crew stay in furnished accommodation, and during layovers across the globe in 4- to 5-star hotels.

The FACE card, exclusively for cabin crew, and the Emirates Platinum card available to all employees, offer a range of exclusive privileges and discounts across thousands of brands, retail stores, clubs, hotels, resorts, and much more, locally and globally.

Those interested in higher education and doctorate programmes can get their degrees and PhDs at a discount with Emirates Aviation University, the region’s premier aviation-related academic institution.

4. Emirates CEO gives workers a hefty bonus, saying they deserve every penny ‘of the 20-week profit share’

Emirates workers are set to receive a hefty bonus after the group receives record profits.

It seems like every other day there’s a dumpster (or plane wing ) fire in the airline industry. But Emirates and Dubai National Air Travel Agency, or dnata, are somehow remaining above the fray amidst a sector-wide crisis.

On Monday , the Emirates Group reported a 71% increase in annual profit as it raked in about $5 billion —$4.7 billion of that coming from Emirates alone, a 63% year-over-year jump.

Disembarking off its “best-ever financial performance,” the company has some wealth to go around—and workers are set to benefit from this golden era. Employees are about to receive a bonus worth 5 months (or 20 weeks’) of their salaries, according to an internal email as seen by Reuters . This bonus will first be reflected in May’s payroll, per The National . Last year, staff received a slightly larger bonus worth 24 weeks of pay. Since then, the company’s total workforce grew by 112,406 employees, or 10%.

“The business outlook is positive, and we expect customer demand for air transport and travel to remain strong in the coming months,” Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and CEO of Emirates, said in a press release. He added the group will be keeping an eye on possible headwinds including “oil prices, currency fluctuations, and volatile environments caused by socio-political changes,” but after two years of hitting new personal records, the airline is projecting blue skies ahead and looking to expand.

“Our business model has been tested before, and I am confident in our resilience and ability to respond quickly to opportunities and challenges,” he said.

Emirates appears to have bounced back from the early-pandemic travel growing pains, as the release states profits for the group over the last couple of years outpaced pandemic losses. Airline capacity also increased by 20%. Emirates’ CEO said 2023 was a year marked by “high demand” for air transport, striking a chord with larger reports of a rebound . The luxury travel market continues to soar, which could be in part why Emirates—the airline built, in part, around a high-quality first-class experience —is doing so well

But not every airline is doing as hot, despite a bounce-back in travel; other companies say they’re feeling the heat from delayed Boeing jet deliveries and issues in retaining staff. Both Southwest and American Airlines reported a weak first quarter . The job of an airline attendant is famously characterized by long hours and low pay . Staffing issues have also intensified, as workers deal with stressful conditions like managing more volatile customers. But Emirates is doing well—and it’s time for its workers to reap the rewards, too, as Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said. Praising employees for their “heroic efforts,” he added that “for powering our collective ambitions and for achieving them, you deserve every dirham of the 20-week profit share,” Khaleej Times , a local Dubai paper, reported. Worth noting, the group is also awarding $1.1 billion to its owner, the Investment Corporation of Dubai.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The long-haul carrier Emirates announced Monday it saw record profits of $4.7 billion in 2023 as the airline fully took flight after the turbulent years of the coronavirus pandemic disrupted its operations.

Emirates, owned by Dubai’s government, announced revenues of $33 billion, compared to $29.3 billion the year before. Profit the year prior had been $2.9 billion.

The airline carried 51.9 million passengers in its 2023 financial year, as compared to 43.6 million the year prior.

“Throughout the year, we saw high demand for air transport and travel related services around the world, and because we were able to move quickly to deliver what customers want, we achieved tremendous results,” Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the chairman and CEO of Emirates, said in a statement.

“We are reaping the benefit of years of non-stop investments in our products and services, in building strong partnerships, and in the capabilities of our talented people.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, praised the airline, noting it “took off 39 years ago and the world of aviation is no longer what it was before.”

“What is coming will be more beautiful, greater and better, God willing,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on the social platform X.

The Emirates’ results track with those for its base, Dubai International Airport . The world’s busiest airport for international travelers had 86.9 million passengers last year, surpassing numbers for 2019 just before the coronavirus pandemic grounded global aviation. The airport had 89.1 million passengers in 2018 — its busiest-ever year before the pandemic.

The airport now plans to move to the city-state’s second, sprawling airfield in its southern desert reaches in the next 10 years in a project worth nearly $35 billion .

The overall Emirates Group, which includes travel company dnata, as well as food, beverage and leisure holdings, reported profits of $5.1 billion off revenues of $37.4 billion.

The group declared a dividend to its owner, the sheikhdom’s sovereign wealth fund known as the Investment Corporation of Dubai, of $1 billion. It also gave its over 112,000 employees 20-weeks bonus pay, according to an internal email sent to staff seen by The Associated Press.

The city-state, one of seven hereditarily ruled, autocratic sheikhdoms that make up the United Arab Emirates, provided Emirates some $4 billion in a bailout at the height of the pandemic . The annual report said Emirates had repaid $2.6 billion of that loan during the last financial year.

In November, Emirates announced a $52 billion deal to purchase 90 Boeing 777 aircraft, 55 of them 777-9 variants and 35 of them 777-8s. Emirates will also add an additional five 787 Dreamliners to its previous order of 30 aircraft.

For years, Emirates has relied on the Boeing 777 and the double-decker Airbus A380 to ferry passengers around the world. That will change in September, when Emirates says it will begin flying the Airbus A350 on routes.

The airline has also embarked on a $2 billion retrofit program for its aircraft.

But challenges remain for the carrier. Saudi Arabia plans to push into the market with Riyadh Air, a new carrier that made a jet deal valued around $37 billion with Boeing just last year with the flagship carrier Saudia.

Climate change may be another concern as well — the wider UAE saw its heaviest recorded rainfall ever last month , which disrupted Emirates’ flights for days.
