Attention !

Pour la première fois depuis longtemps, Mark, Tom et Travis de blink-182 se sont à nouveau retrouvés en studio. Vous pourrez entendre et voir le résultat le 8 septembre au Sportpaleis.

Special Guests: The Story So Far

Blink-182 (Sportpaleis, Antwerp) – 08/09/2023

blink 182 tour antwerpen

The wait was finally over. Getting my tickets more than half a year in advance, the day that I would see Blink-182 with support The Story So Far was finally there. Let’s check it out!

The Story So Far

The night started with The Story So Far . An American pop rock band from California founded in 2007. I have heard of the band, but am not too familiar with their songs. In true punk rock style, the band came on stage, singer Parker Cannon said hello, and they started playing song after song, creating an avalanche of songs to hear. The crowd was still a bit stiff, even though The Story So Far tried to start mosh pits, it didn’t really take off too much. The band was very grateful to support Blink-182 on their tour, saying that this was their biggest show ever. They provided us with 45 minutes of pure pop/punk rock to enjoy.

Empty Space Things I Can’t Change Roam Nerve The Glass Out of It No Cigar (Millencolin cover) Heavy Gloom High Regard Bad Luck Solo Upside Down Big Blind Keep This Up Proper Dose

This show was many things. It was legendary, simply amazing, a combination of all different factors that made this show possible. Tom coming back to the band, Mark surviving stage 4 cancer, not knowing whether he would be able to perform again or not. Travis being back from a family emergency just in time for the show. But somehow this show happened and it was great. It felt like I was a part of history. The crowd was ready and loud, even before the band started. The band came on stage and from the first note, the party was on.

Their logo was on the square stage where they were performing. The crowd was divided in different areas. Even the standing area was divided in different zones, each more expensive than the other. This is not something that Blink wanted. They never wanted their shows to be extremely expensive. The problem is that a lot of people want to attend the show, and then ticket prices go up. As simple as that, as annoying as it is. They put up an amazing show, while worth the money. There was fire and fireworks, Travis flew up in the air and drummed some songs from high up. They threw picks and stickers in the crowd. Only in the standing area, of course, since it was impossible to get high up to the other areas.

Blink-182 still had the pee pee and poo poo jokes, and it is amazing, it’s fun and humorous, and they know it. We are all adults, yet that fact doesn’t matter when you are at a Blink-182 show. That’s why they have a song ‘ What’s My Age Again ’. They played all the classics you could’ve asked for like All the Small Things , I Miss You, Always, First Date and closer Dammit . New song Edging was there as well. Their new album ‘ One More Time ‘ will be out on October 20, 2023. Talk about an emotional title.

Anthem Part Two The Rock Show Family Reunion Man Overboard Feeling This Reckless Abandon Violence Up All Night Dysentery Gary Dumpweed EDGING Aliens Exist Cynical Happy Holidays, You Bastard Happy Holidays, You Bastard (Faster) Stay Together for the Kids Always Down Bored to Death I Miss You Adam’s Song Ghost on the Dance Floor What’s My Age Again First Date All The Small Things Dammit

All in all, this show was a great experience. An experience I thought I would never get. But since they are all back together now, I would say; see them while you can. It’s definitely worth the wait and the money.

  • ALL IN MY HEAD

TODO EN MI CABEZA

Soy una pequeña mota de nada y soy el universo entero escrito en grande I'm a tiny speck of nothing and I'm the entire universe writ large

Esta gira está tratando de matarme This tour is trying to kill me Me despierto dispuesto a pelear, no debería hablar de ello I wake up ready to fight, I shouldn't talk about it Tengo una sensación repugnante I got a sickening feeling Hacemos esto noche tras noche, pero ahora empiezo a dudarlo We do this night after night but now I start to doubt it Habitaciones de hotel solitarias (habitaciones de hotel) Lonely hotel rooms (hotel rooms) Manchas de semen en el sofá (en el sofá) Cum stains on the couch (on the couch) Estoy avanzando I'm moving on Pero aún no me doy por vencido But I'm still not giving up Estoy mejor ahora I'm better now Pero todavía no soy lo suficientemente bueno But I'm still not good enough Duermo solo I sleep alone Y todavía me duele levantarme And it still hurts getting up Me estoy volviendo loco, ¿está todo en mi cabeza? I'm freaking out, is it all in my head?

¿Hemos estado aquí antes? Have we been here before? Un barco lejos de la orilla A ship far from the shore ¿Me quemaste en mi cama? Did you burn me in my bed? ¿O todo esto está dentro de mi cabeza? Or is this all inside my head?

Nunca dormir toda la noche Never sleeping the night through Era el final de la gira, no podía hablar de ello It was the end of the tour, I couldn't talk about it Yo también he estado bebiendo mucho I've been drinking a lot, too Ahí es cuando pienso que estamos bien y cuando empiezo a vomitar That's when I think that we're good and when I start to vomit Cambiar la escena final (escena final) Change the ending scene (ending scene) Mira algo de porno y duerme (porno y duerme) Watch some porn and sleep (porn and sleep) Ir Go

Estoy avanzando I'm moving on Pero aún no me doy por vencido But I'm still not giving up Estoy mejor ahora I'm better now Pero todavía no soy lo suficientemente bueno But I'm still not good enough Duermo solo I sleep alone Y todavía me duele levantarme And it still hurts getting up Me estoy volviendo loco, ¿está todo en mi cabeza? I'm freaking out, is it all in my head?

Blink 182 invites fan up on stage to sing First Date - but she sings the words to All The Small Things

Embarrassment all round at Blink's show in Columbus, Ohio

Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge of Blink-182

Oh dear. It’s the stuff of nightmares, for both band and fan. You’re invited up on stage and then... nothing comes out.

That’s what happened at a Blink 182 gig in Columbus, Ohio earlier this week. The band recruited a young fan to come up on stage and help them sing First Date from their 2001 album Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. But it seems she doesn’t know the words, or is trying to sing the wrong song; possibly All The Small Things. Perhaps it’s the only Blink song she knows?

Either way, the unfortunate fan is frozen like a rabbit in the headlights. And it’s all a bit embarrassing…

@blink182italia ♬ suono originale - blink182italia

She attempts to hand the microphone to Hoppus, who then tries his best to lead the crowd in a singalong to cover it all up. Meanwhile Tom Delonge tries to stifle his laughter.

This is how it should sound:

The Columbus date was the last show on the US leg of Blink’s One More Time tour that started back on June 20.

The band head to the UK next week where they are set to headline Reading and Leeds festivals, along with a diverse line up that includes Liam Gallagher, Lana Del Rey, Fred Again.. and Catfish and the Bottlemen. It’ll be the first time they’ve played the festival since headlining ten years ago.

Reunited Blink-182 releases new single and music video

The band recently announced its 2023 world tour.

Blink-182 has released a new single called "Edging," marking the band's first song with Tom DeLonge in over 10 years.

The track features both DeLonge and Mark Hoppus handling lead vocals in the verses while harmonizing together in the chorus and features some classic Blink juvenile humor.

Blink-182 reuniting for massive 2023 world tour, new song coming Friday

"I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a band member what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022," drummer Travis Barker, who produced "Edging," said in a statement.

The accompanying music video for the new single premiered Friday at noon ET.

Earlier this week, Blink announced that they'd reunited with DeLonge, who'd been out of the band since 2015.

The trio will embark on a worldwide tour in 2023 and plans to release a new album that DeLonge calls the "best album of our career."

In DeLonge's absence, Blink featured Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba on guitar and vocals. Following the reunion news, DeLonge shared a message he sent Skiba thanking him for "all that you have done to keep the band alive and thriving."

"Emotions between the three of us in blink have always been complicated, but Mark's cancer really put things in perspective," he wrote. "But to be honest, the band would not even be here today if it were not for your ability to jump in and save the day. So from my heart to yours, thank you for being a member of our band."

YEAR IN REVIEW: Blink-182 release their sophomore effort, Dude Ranch , their first LP on a major label. They tour worldwide on the Warped Tour and see their stardom rise stateside as “Dammit” becomes a rock radio juggernaut. Tensions begin to erupt between the trio, however, which spill over into next year.

The band performs at South Lake Tahoe, California as a part of Get Travel Invasion.

This is the earliest recorded date that Blink performed with Goldfinger. It's notable because Blink — sans Tom, plus Matt Skiba — would reconnect with John Feldmann, frontman of Goldfinger, nearly 19 years later with Blink's seventh album, California .

Kathy Moffeit Holland Maynard working at Softride arranged for us to give away a bicycle, which was won by friends of the Palo Alto band, Guttersluts. It was blink-182’s first NorCal tour, maybe their first show, a Sunday late afternoon early evening, they set up on the floor of the formerly high school cafeteria not on the stage, for about 100 paid. A guy named Murphy I think in San Jose made a bootleg poster, with robots, screen printed and gave me one copy. Not a part of Earthwise Galley but in our archives nonetheless."

So tiny, I was sitting on the stage, which was more like a platform. Standing right next to where I was sitting was Mark doing his bass thing. His right shoe was untied and I wanted to re-tie it without him noticing. I’m nice like that. Eventually he noticed and kind of looked down and nodded to me. So I tied it. Undated, Late 1997:

daveyjones and his girlfriend at the time interview Mark at his apartment for a school paper. A thread from davey with some great photos of Mark from then can be found in this thread , while a recording he made can be found here.

Blink records two new songs with producer Mark Trombino: "I Won't Be Home for Christmas" and "Mutt". IWBHFC is released as a promo single, while "Mutt" is placed on the soundtrack for The Show , a new Taylor Steele surf video released the following February. Blink later re-records "Mutt" with producer Jerry Finn later that year for its inclusion in the film American Pie .

See the 9/2/1997 date for more information. Rob Perelman, the band’s webmaster at that time, records the 9/2 date as a studio session, potentially for one of these two tracks.
