Modi to Visit Warangal on July 8, State Unit Plans Mega Meeting
HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Telangana state on July 8 to set the foundation stone for a wagon overhauling service centre at Kazipet and a mega textile park in Warangal, where he will also address a public meeting, providing a much-needed impetus to the state BJP’s Assembly election campaign.
Announcing Modi’s visit on Thursday, the state BJP said that a planned meeting of BJP state chiefs and party’s organising secretaries from southern states that was previously scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on July 8 has been postponed. BJP president J.P. Nadda was to chair the meeting to take stock of party affairs in the states going to polls in the next 12 months.
Modi’s visit comes within weeks of Nadda’s trip to the state, on June 25, during which he addressed a public meeting at Nagarkurnool as part of the BJP’s Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan. The Prime Minister’s visit also comes in the wake of alleged discontent among some senior leaders of the party in the state.
Although it has been made clear by the party’s national leadership that there will be no changes in the state leadership, speculation continued that there could be some structural changes in the state executive and new responsibilities to be given to Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajender and former Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.
It may be recalled that these two leaders were summoned by the party leadership to Delhi last week to discuss their concerns at a meeting with Nadda and Union minister Amit Shah, with Union minister from Telangana, G. Kishan Reddy also present.
Soon after the date for Modi’s visit to Warangal was confirmed, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar held a teleconference with party leaders from the district to discuss preliminary arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit and the public meeting.
Sanjay Kumar said Modi has been giving time for Telangana state amid his busy schedule, as per the state unit’s request, as has been the case with Nadda and Shah. “This shows the seriousness with which the national leadership of the BJP takes the Assembly elections in the state to be held towards the end of this year, and its keenness on winning the election,” he said.

PM Modi would visit the famous Bhadrakali temple before attending the events and would also address a public meeting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone for various development projects at Warangal in Telangana on July 8, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said on Sunday.
He said Modi would visit the famous Bhadrakali temple before attending the events and would also address a public meeting.
The Union Minister said the Centre has, in principle, decided to establish a wagon manufacturing unit at Warangal.
“I am conveying this with happiness to people of Warangal on behalf of Narendra Modi ji that wagons manufacturing unit is going to come up in Warangal town,” he told reporters at Warangal.
He said the proposed unit to be set up by the Centre would have the capacity to manufacture 200 wagons per month. The cost of the unit, its employment potential and other details would be announced soon, he said. “But, in principle, Government of India, decided to establish wagon manufacturing unit at Warangal city, (with) per month more than 200 wagons manufacturing capacity,” he said.
The wagon manufacturing unit is an addition to a periodic overhauling unit which would be established in the city, he said. The Prime Minister has agreed to perform ‘bhumi puja’ for the wagon manufacturing unit, he said.
The other development works includes laying foundation for National Highway projects, the Union Minister said. Alleging that the BRS government in Telangana was spreading false campaign about the NDA government at the Centre, he asserted that the Modi government does not discriminate among states.

PM Modi is also scheduled to address a large public meeting in Warangal, and the party is making all the necessary arrangements for the event. The Arts college grounds at Hanmakonda are the suggested location for the conference.
In view of the visit, the Hyderabad meeting to be chaired by BJP national president JP Nadda with the party presidents of 11 states has been cancelled.
PM Modi's visit to Telangana was initially scheduled as part of the 'Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan', a campaign by the party to commemorate nine years of his government. However, the visit was postponed.

The BRS government, which had even identified land for the location of the coach factory, has been targeting the Modi government for going back on its promise. During his previous visit to Telangana in April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various projects worth over Rs. 11,300 crores. These projects encompassed areas such as railways, road connectivity, and health infrastructure development. On Tuesday, while addressing a public meeting in Bhopal, PM Modi launched a fresh attack on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. "If you want the welfare of K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter, then vote for BRS. But if you people want the welfare of your sons and daughters and grandchildren, then vote for BJP," Modi said as quoted by IANS. Modi slammed opposition parties and their recent meeting that took place in Bihar, saying all the corrupts have joined their hands in Patna. The Prime Minister said that the parties have come together to escape the "anti-scam" crackdown.
He said that "corrupt leaders" were trying to save each other. Over 15 Opposition parties met on June 23 in Bihar's Patna to strategise on forming a united front to take on the Modi juggernaut ahead of next year's Lok Sabha elections.
