Drinking Around the World Showcase at Epcot

duffy-cup-beer-epcot-disney-world copy

Our guide to Drinking Around the World in Epcot at Walt Disney World, covers our tips, and top picks for the best beers, wine, and mixed drinks. There’s also plenty of strategy for conquering this worldly task without climbing up the side of Mexico pavilion and holding up a Duffy plush Lion King style for all of World Showcase to see.

Since most of us probably won’t be able to haphazardly spend thousands of dollars to fly to Paris at a moment’s notice for some artisan cheeses or brave a winter in Canada just for some fine brews anytime soon, Epcot’s World Showcase offers us the next best option: sampling many alcoholic beverages and decadent desserts of the world in authentic-looking environments all while on vacation at Walt Disney World.

Of course, whose bucket list doesn’t also include having a drink in 10 different countries in a single day? No? Well, now you can add it to your list and cross it off. With our advice, those can actually be good drinks rather than a bunch of brightly colored, frozen concoctions that’ll leave you with more of a sugar rush than an a buzz…

The premise is simple: start out at one end of World Showcase, and continue through the countries, sampling a drink and/or dessert in each country. As there are 11 countries in the World Showcase, this is easier said than done. It’s even more difficult during Food & Wine Festival, when Epcot adds lots of kiosks that serve additional drinks.

If you’re looking to complete this drinking event then, check out our Guide to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for additional tips & info. With even more drinking options, expect Drinking Around the World during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival to be a lot of fun…albeit perhaps not for your liver.

First, we will start with our tips and strategies for Drinking Around the World Showcase, generally, followed by specific drink recommendations….

General Epcot Drinking Strategy

walt-disney-world-food-031

Value for Money – If you have a Tables in Wonderland card , keep in mind that it’s valid for a discount on alcohol at Table Service restaurants, but not at kiosks or counter service spots. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan , you won’t be able to use any credits for alcohol as you drink around the world

Snack Around the World – Food soaks up alcohol, enabling you to drink more. That’s just science. We have a separate, companion article to this title Snacking Around the World Showcase that offers snacking tips for each country. The non-drinkers and anyone who wants to enjoy more than just drinks should check that out. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, it’s a good idea to use some snack credits as you wander the World Showcase. Check out our article on Maximizing Snack Credit Value on the Dining Plan or, if you’re traveling during Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival (in the fall), check out our article on the Best Food & Wine Festival Snacks .

Make it an All-Day Affair – Yes, a day in a Disney theme park does cost a lot of money, but if done correctly, Drinking Around the World can be some of the most fun you’ll ever have. Starting around 11 am still gives you time to hit the big Future World attractions, such as Soarin’ and Test Track first thing in the morning, or even rope dropping Frozen Ever After. Plus, spreading the drinking out over the course of the day is always a good idea.

Be Respectful – Drinking Around the World at Epcot has proliferated in popularity in recent years. Some would say it’s gotten to the point where it’s a problem. On a given day in Epcot, you will see multiple drinking “teams” replete with matching shirts and obnoxious attitudes. Never forget that Epcot is a family theme park, and while Drinking Around the World Showcase can be a ton of fun, that fun should not occur at the expense of your fellow park guests.

Germany in Epcot's World Showcase

Explore the Pavilions – You’re limited in which attractions you can visit with a drink in hand, so take some time to explore the wonderful details in the pavilions themselves. Morocco, Germany, Italy, and Canada, among others, all have great depth to explore. You’ll be surprised how fun it is to simply wander around deep in each pavilion and see the architecture and hidden details.

Share Drinks – Drinking in moderation is key to maximizing your fun while Drinking Around the ‘World. Split drinks when necessary to avoid over-consumption, and sample one another’s drinks to experience the different flavors of the ‘World. Additionally, not every pavilion has a stellar option for both the beer drinkers and mixed drink fans in your party. Although beer selection is improving at Walt Disney World, it’s still weak in some countries. We have an article on Finding Good Beers at Walt Disney World , and our friends over at Beers and Ears have some great apps for finding beers at Walt Disney World that might further assist with finding good beers while drinking around the world!

Enjoy Attractions Between Drinks – World Showcase is not known for rides, with the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico and Frozen Ever After in Norway Arendelle being the main options. The films in France, Canada, and China plus the American Adventure are other great options. After a couple of drinks, you might weep uncontrollably at the emotional power of the American Adventure…or you might just fall asleep. Check out our full Epcot Ride Guide for ratings and reviews of every attraction in Epcot.

Recommended Drinks by Country

margarita-san-angel-inn-epcot

We used to recommend starting in Mexico, but if you’re a beer drinker, due to recent changes in Canada, you are now better suited to start in Canada. Mixed drink or tequila fans should still start in Mexico. If you start in Mexico, this list is in order by country. If you start in Canada, it’s in reverse order.

Mexico – Outside the Mexico pavilion you can get Margaritas that are pre-mixed, extremely sugary and are sure to upset your stomach. Avoid these, instead go inside to La Cava Del Tequila, which serves some excellent drinks, notably the Blood Orange Margarita, Avocado Margarita, and Jalapeno Margarita, and tequila flights. There’s even a special offer if you show your server that you follow @CavaDelTequila on Twitter . La Cava Del Tequila is far and away the best place for mixed drinks in World Showcase, which is why we recommend starting here…but just make sure you leave!

Get a Carlsberg in Norway – Carlsberg isn’t amazing, but it’s a solid beer…despite not actually being from Norway. Hey, it’ll fit right in with the Frozen attraction! This is a lesser-of-all-evils situation.

The one thing you want to make sure you avoid is the aquavit shot. Unless the idea of a shot of potato alcohol that tastes like it’s mixed with fire and dill pickles sounds appealing. (I’m not kidding, that’s about what it tastes like.)

Walt Disney World May 2012 050

Don’t Miss the Tea Stand in China – Names can be deceiving! Featuring some of the most unique cocktails in World Showcase, the Mango Gingerita, Canto Loopy, Peach Snap! or Green Tea Plum Slush is the way to go here. Tsing Tao on draft is a rare sight, but it’s not better than the cocktails. Some readers have indicated they are a fan of the Plum Wine here, but it’s not my…ahem…cup of tea.

Skip the “African” Outpost – Way back in the 1980s, this was where the African pavilion was to be. Now it’s just a filler area. It doesn’t count as a country, and thus is not an official stop on a Drinking Around the World tour. It’s fun for buzzed photos at the drums, but you do not need to stop for a drink here. Don’t be fooled by the Safari Amber that’s “exclusive” to Walt Disney World. It’s just a boring Anheuser-Busch InBev brew .

1106300127

Avoid the Crowd in Germany – Due to the actual country’s reputation, the beer kiosk near the front in Germany typically has long lines. Avoid these by heading deeper into the pavilion. The beers offered here typically include Spaten, Altenmunster Oktoberfest, Lowenbrau, Radeberger, and others I can’t type or pronounce.

There are also Jägermeister shots. I know Germany is a favorite beer country for many, but I find most of these beers to be good, not great. You should definitely get something here, but I think the real winners are in Canada. My pick here would be the Altenmunster Oktoberfest.

beer tour disney world

Stop at Via Napoli in Italy – You’re almost halfway through, so now is a good point for a relaxing air-conditioned break. Head inside Via Napoli and get a Moretti La Rossa, a malty beer with a big nutty flavor. The pizza is also pretty good if you’re in the mood for something filling.

Moretti is now available outside. It’s also available at Tutto Gusto, the Italian wine cellar, where you can get beer flights as well. The kiosks outside also have margaritas (not recommended), wines (some decent choices), and dessert wines. Despite Italy being known for wines rather than beers, I’d stick with the beer here.

beer tour disney world

Craft Beers in America – Finally! Our long national nightmare is over! The American Adventure used to be an awful spot for drinks, but that has all changed. Regal Eagle Smokehouse & Craft Drafts just opened, and has a walk-up drink window that serves Cigar City Jai Alai IPA, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider, Bell’s Oberon, Tennessee Lemonade, and more.

Additionally, Block & Hans is a small kiosk to the far side of the pavilion that opened last year, and it serves a variety of American craft beers. These rotate to some degree, but I’ve noticed something excellent from Bell’s is there most of the time, which is a popular choice from my hometown in Michigan. (Almost everything Bell’s brews is fantastic–get whatever they have!)

Tokyo-Japan0146

Experiment in Japan – Japan offers a couple good options: plum wine and hot or cold sake. The Kirin Ichiban beer is nice and smooth, too. These may not be things you’d normally drink, but give them a try anyway.

My recommendation here would be the hot sake, which I think goes down pretty well. Whatever you do, don’t get the beer–especially the Frozen Ichiban. It will be tempting because it’s such a novel concept, but this is just an unpleasant drink.

1106300116

Try a Mixed Drink or Sangria in Morocco – Casa Beer is the only Moroccan-themed beer offered (something tells me this fairly mild drink isn’t what they were pouring at Rick’s Cafe Americain) and it’s alright. The mixed drinks and sangria are also good options, especially the Sultan, but I highly doubt any of them are any more Moroccan than a can of SPAM.

There’s also a bar in the Tangierine Café where you can get coffee infused with liquor. Perfect late afternoon pick-me-up if you need one. Honestly, this might be a country to skip if you need a mind-tour break.

france-clock-night-bricker

$$$ in France – The Grand Marnier & Grey Goose Orange Slush, and the Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush are crazy expensive, but they’re also pretty good. They don’t have much alcohol and are terrible values, but they still aren’t bad options.

Don’t bother with the (one) lackluster beer in the France pavilion. I have no insight to the wines here, but hey, it’s France…maybe they’re good?

Blend It Up in the United Kingdom! – There are quite a few beers on tap in Rose & Crown, and they’re all pretty good, but the best options are the pub blends such as the Bumblebee (Boddingtons and Guinness), Black and Tan (Bass and Guinness), or the Golden Fox (Boddingtons and Bass). Tastes Great, more fulfilling!

Although this is one of the last stops on the list, we recommend trying to hit it earlier in the evening, as it gets really busy late at night. The restrooms here (picture above) are some of the busiest and loudest in Walt Disney World at night!

epcot-beer-la-fin-du-monde copy

Canada Beer is the Best Beer (Here) – It used to be the case that you had to dine in Le Cellier, one of the most popular restaurants in all of Walt Disney World , to get the good stuff. Recently, Canada started serving a few varieties of Unibroue beers outside at the kiosk, as well! These include Éphémère and Trois Pistoles, but the real highlight is La Fin Du Monde. This is a robust Abbey Tripel that is arguably one of the best beers in the world. It scores a 99 on Ratebeer . (Just for reference, that’s over DOUBLE the score of the best beer in Germany.)

Not only is it delicious, but it’s a great value. You might be thinking that an $11 beer can’t possibly be a great value, but I purchased the bottle pictured above at a local beer store for $12. So, by Disney standards, there is minimal markup here and it’s a great value. The Trois Pistoles is also an excellent, excellent beer–the second best in World Showcase. I’m not a huge fan of Éphémère, but you could do worse. Be ashamed, be very ashamed, if you purchase a Moosehead or Labatt here. The Torontopolitan is also to be avoided.

1106300037

Truthfully, I’m to the point now where the novelty of Drinking Around the World long ago wore off for me, and now I just grab a Unibroue in Canada on my way into World Showcase, backtrack to get another later, maybe stop for a Bell’s Oberon in America, then stop at La Cava Del Tequila on the way out. That’s more than enough booze and money spent, plus I’m actually getting drinks I like as opposed to drinking something in each country for the sake of trying it. Your mileage may vary, and I understand there’s a certain novelty to Drinking Around the World Showcase, but depending upon your tastes, you might be woefully underwhelmed by a lot of these options.

If you’re determined to complete this grueling drinking challenge, by following the simple tips and drink suggestions above, your day at Epcot Drinking Around the ‘World should be an excellent time. Remember to drink in moderation and be courteous to fellow guests during your trip, as Walt Disney World is a family vacation destination, not your local college dive bar!

Wife and I would love to do this someday now that we live here lol. How often do you and Sarah do this? Once ever or is it a tradition to do once a year etc?

My family is finally heading to Orlando from Canada in March, after a cancelled trip in July 2020. From reading your blog, I know that you are a huge fan of our beer here in Canada, especially the Unibroue brewery selection.

I hope you will let me pack a six-pack of assorted Unibroue beers into my bag. I am sure there are varieties you can’t get in Florida and would like to try. As well, their beers are readily available here in Ottawa beer stores. We have LOTS of great beer (you probably should visit Ontario/Quebec sometime).

Please let me know which varieties you would like me to bring down! You could pick them up at my hotel. Or I could drop them off at a hotel on-site for you. I can arrange to leave them with bell services or at the front desk. (I am honestly not trying to be weird and meet you). Or, in Canada, we can send an Uber to pick things up; I am game to hand them off to a driver (you send) to bring them to you – let me know of any other ideas!

La Fin Du Monde is such an amazing beer, thank you for turning me on to it. The high abv caught me off guard when I had 3 of them in 2 hours.

I have a suggestion for lovers of that beer. You can’t get this one in Disney, but À Tout Le Monde is an amazing beer by the same brewery and on the upside it’s on 4.5% abv so you can have more then 2 and still function ;). Plus for 80s metal fans, it features artwork from the band Megadeath.

A number of years ago, I got a paper “Passport” that could be stamped at each pavillion if you ordered a drink. It made the experience extra fun. Are they not still doing this?

' src=

Last time we were there on a weekend during Food & Wine I compared it to a college pub crawl. Honestly, it was an awful experience. Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy having a few…. but it was terrible. Do not go to EPCOT on weekends during the festival with your children!!! They don’t need to be exposed to the sophomoric drunks.

Best Places to Grab a Beer in Disney World: Pubs, Sports Bars + More

' src=

Whether you want to grab a brew to have in hand as you stroll through a Disney theme park, or you want to sit down and catch the big game in a Disney sports bar, you've got options. There are quite a number of places to grab a beer in Disney World, and we've rounded up the best. From pubs and sports bars to creating your own monorail pub crawl that focuses on beer, I've got some great ideas brewing.

St. Patrick's Day at Walt Disney World

Before we dive into the best places for beer at Walt Disney World, let's go to the end of the rainbow. St. Patrick's Day is on the horizon. Walt Disney World itself does not throw any sort of official St. Patrick's Day celebration. However, usually about a week before the official day you'll start to see St. Patrick's Day treats at many quick-service locations and Disney Springs.

St. Patrick's Day at Disney Springs

In past years multiple Disney Springs shops have offered special St. Patrick's Day merchandise. A favorite among them is Basin with their Irish-themed soaps and bath bombs. You can usually find Irish-inspired treats available at Amorette's Patisserie ,  The Ganachery , and  Sprinkles Cupcakes . And for something savory, head to The Daily Poutine near the World of Disney Store, which usually has Irish-themed poutine.

Grab some Irish-inspired grub and special beer blends at City Works, which has St. Patricks Day Specials from March 10 – March 17, 2022. And as you can imagine, the Raglan Road ’s Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival is a major event. This year's expanded Mighty St. Patrick's Festival takes place from March 11 – March 17, 2022, featuring Irish food, craft beer, cocktails, five outdoor bars, live music and performances by Irish dancers.

St. Patrick's Day Treats at Disney

Many Disney Resort hotels have quick-service dining locations that offer seasonal treats throughout the year. And there are often a few quick-service dining locations inside Disney theme parks with St. Patrick's Day treats. The best way to find these is by going into the “Order Food” section of the My Disney Experience app and then looking over the menus.

Important note – St. Patrick's Day at Epcot is usually VERY busy and packed with drinking groups. It can be fun to take part in the party atmosphere. But if rowdy drinking around the world is not your thing, then you may not want to visit Epcot on St. Patrick's Day.

Read on for the best spots for beer at Walt Disney World, which could also come in handy for St. Patrick's Day.

Best Places to Grab a Beer in Disney World

Let's raise a frosty glass to the sports bars, pubs, and restaurants with great beer at Disney World. Then we'll take a look at how to drink beer around the world at Epcot and create your own monorail pub crawl focusing on beer.

BEST BEER AT DISNEY SPRINGS

Disney Springs is such a great Disney date idea, no matter the time of year. Watching sports while drinking a cold one is easily accomplished here. Or, if you just want to try some unique and interesting beers your thirst will be quenched at Disney Springs.

CITY WORKS EATERY AND PUB HOUSE

This is absolutely the BEST spot to grab a beer at Disney Springs. There is a vibrant energy at City Works Eatery and Pub House. With 90 local and global craft beers on tap, the beer selection is impressive. Massive screens around the bar and dining room make it easy to catch a game. And the outdoor dining area is the perfect place to soak up the energy of Disney Springs.

Bonus tip – For the ultimate date night, stop here before enjoying a breathtaking night at Cirque du Soleil's Drawn to Life .

RAGLAN ROAD IRISH PUB AND RESTAURANT

Savor authentic Irish food and brews to match at Raglan Road. This Disney Springs destination is a favorite for date night thanks to its delicious food, plentiful drinks, and live entertainment. It's hard to pass up a Guinness, but there are lots of other great beers on tap at the bar. You can also grab a beer to go or to enjoy at the patio at the outdoor bar along the side of the building.

Live music and Irish dancers at Raglan Road

HOUSE OF BLUES

Home to great folk art and live music, House of Blues is a great spot to grab a cold draft beer and enjoy the atmosphere. Plus, the Southern-inspired food pairs perfectly with a crisp, hoppy brew. You can dine in the dining room or pull up a seat on the outdoor patio which often has live music in the evenings.

One of the coolest atmospheres at Disney Springs can be found at The Edison. Once home to a favorite nightclub of the Pleasure Island days, this impressive venue is now a favorite for date night, birthday celebrations, bachelorettes, and more. Surprisingly enough, The Edison has an extensive craft beer menu, organized by flavor profile. And, they have their own exclusive brew, The Edison Series American IPA.

JOCK LINDSEY'S HANGAR BAR

Another unique atmosphere can be enjoyed at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar (make a reminder in your calendar to visit next  holiday season , it's cutely decorated). Here you can sip on craft beer or even a refreshing shandy (a flavorful combination of beer and lemonade). With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it's a great spot year-round.

STARGAZERS BAR AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD

It's hard to miss the massive sphere of Planet Hollywood near the center of Disney Springs. But, it is possible to overlook the outdoor bar tucked along the water. Stargazers Bar is small, but a great place to enjoy a casual beer as the energy of Disney Springs surrounds you.

Best Beer at Disney Theme Parks

Practically every single table service restaurant inside of Disney's theme parks serves beer and wine, even the ones in Magic Kingdom. The beer selection at Magic Kingdom's restaurants is pretty basic, and you can only find beer at Magic Kingdom in the table service restaurants to have with your meal.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is great for exploring Asian and African beers. In Harambe Village, the Africa area of the park, stop in at Dawa Bar for a Tusker Ale. Over in the Asia area of the park you'll find a few kiosks along the walkways. A stop inside the Yak and Yeti Restaurant early in the day will give you a good chance to find a spot at the small bar inside where a few Asian beers await to be explored.

There are two great spots for unique beers at Disney's Animal Kingdom, near each other. First, Nomad Lounge is a favorite date night spot, and the beer list is extensive. You can also enjoy the Disney exclusive Kungaloosh beer here. And just down the path is Pandora – World of Avatar which serves a few specialty beers, including a green one on draft, year-round. The Grog Ale is available at multiple spots within Pandora, and is an eye-catching green beer with light citrus and hop notes.

Grog Ale is a green beer at Pandora World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom

The best place to get a beer at any Disney theme park is found inside Disney's Hollywood Studios. Baseline Tap House is essentially a craft beer bar, and it is nearly in the heart of Hollywood Studios. Enjoy a full size craft beer or share a flight and explore a variety of craft beer from California. And near Baseline is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Here you'll find multiple places for a specialty beer exclusive to the land, including Docking Bay 7 and Ronto Roasters .

If you can snag a Disney dining reservation at Oga's Cantina you'll be treated to immersive theming and a variety of special beer. If you're a super Star Wars fan then consider getting the pricey beer flight that is served in ceramic Rancor teeth for you to take home.

Prefer wine? Discover Sophisticated Spots to Sip Wine At Walt Disney World

Disney beer around the world at epcot.

Perhaps the most popular way to drink beer at Disney is by drinking around the world at Epcot. It is also very popular to debate as to whether it is better to start on the Mexico Pavilion side or the Canada pavilion side.

If your focus is drinking beer around the world then I recommend starting at the Canada Pavilion because the Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room can be your second stop, and you don't want to miss this one.

Recommended itinerary for drinking beer around the world at Epcot:

  • Popcorn cart at Canada Pavilion – Moosehead Draft
  • Rose and Crown Pub at United Kingdom Pavilion – try one of the many Pub Blends
  • Skip France Pavilion unless the Kronenbourg 1664 is an absolute must on your list
  • Spice Road Table at Morocco Pavilion – grab a draft beer or cider at the walk-up bar inside the lobby
  • Kabuki Cafe kiosk at Japan Pavilion – grab a Kirin on draft, or even a Frozen Kirin beer
  • Regal Eagle Smokehouse at American Adventure – stop here for lunch and a beer, or a domestic craft beer from the outdoor bar
  • Skip Italy Pavilion, wine is the main focus here
  • Beer kiosks or Sommerfest at Germany Pavilion – lots of beer choices in this pavilion
  • Lotus Blossom Cafe at China Pavilion – T-Cha Jasmine Draft Beer
  • Skip Norway Pavilion, though there are some Nordic beers at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
  • La Cantina de San Angel at Mexico Pavilion – Tulum Craft Lager

Pub Blend Beer with Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot in the background

Near Epcot is Disney's BoardWalk Resort which is a great idea for a progressive dinner date . There is also Big River Grille & Brewing Works . At Big River, you can enjoy casual food and beer brewed fresh right there. This is a great spot for craft beer and seasonal beer, all brewed in-house.

You may be wondering about ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk. Disney announced in March 2022 that ESPN Club is permanently closed.

Monorail Bar Crawl – Featuring Beer

One of the most popular Disney date ideas is a Monorail Pub Crawl . If your focus is on beer, then your monorail pub crawl will be lots of fun, but may look a little different than the traditional route. Most of the lounges at the Disney resort hotels do not open until 3pm or later, so plan accordingly.

Recommended itinerary for a beer-focused monorail pub crawl:

  • Tambu Lounge at Disney's Polynesian – a variety of beers from Kona Brewing and Maui Brewing
  • The beer menu at Citricos, Narcoossee's, and Enchanted Rose Lounge are essentially the same – Enchanted Rose is the only lounge not attached to a restaurant
  • Outer Rim at Disney's Contemporary – a large variety of domestic craft beers and great views
  • Geyser Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge – bonus round take a boat from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge and enjoy the Pacific Northwest atmosphere

How much is beer at Walt Disney World?

Grabbing drinks at Walt Disney World can be pricey. There are a few reasons for this, a captive audience is one of them. A beer at Walt Disney World can cost anywhere from $8 to $13. Draft and canned domestic beer is in the $8 – $9 range, while specialty, import, and craft beers range from $11 – $13. Some special releases can even run upwards of $14 – $15.

Still want more beer at Disney?

Sip on some suds poolside at the Unreserved Beer Garden at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa which serves beer flights that include beers from Florida breweries. From Ivanhoe Park Brewing’s Guavacation to Crooked Can’s Florida Sunshine, 11 local beers will hit the spot. What’s more? The beer flights are half off during the Unreserved Beer Garden’s daily “social hour” from 4-5 pm.

Hey Discrew — let’s get ready for an adventure around the World Showcase. If you’re planning your unofficial  “Drink Around the World Tour”  at EPCOT, you’ve come to the right place. I’m here to tell you about the absolute best boozy beverages you can find at my favorite Walt Disney World theme park so you know you’re ordering the best of the best.

So, let’s jump into Perfecting the Magic’s ultimate guide to drinking around the world at EPCOT!

All About Drinking Around EPCOT’s World Showcase

Drink around the world - EPCOT Pavilion

You may be wondering, what is “drinking around the world” at EPCOT? Well, it’s simple! It’s a way of meandering the World Showcase while ordering a drink in each country. You may take it as a challenge and get a beverage at every single country in the World Showcase (that’s 11 in total), or you may pick and choose. No matter what, it’s about having fun and enjoying your time at EPCOT while sipping on international-inspired beverages!

Seasonal Drink in France Pavilion at EPCOT

Remember that every drink on this list is grab-and-go friendly — you won’t need to snag a table-service restaurant reservation or sit down for a full meal to order these beverages. (Let’s be honest, nobody has time for that on a drink-around-the-world quest.) The drinks on this list are also available year-round, so you won’t have to count on any of the EPCOT festivals to enjoy this tour. Of course, feel free to mix in some festival booth picks if you see something you love!

Also, please note that if you plan to drink around the World Showcase, it will be a pricey experience. Most drinks average around $13 each, so your overall cost will add up if you’re buying a beverage in every country. I recommend setting a generous budget (including tax) based on the drinks you know you want to try, plus adding a little more just in case you end up sampling something else. If you want to save some cash, consider sharing drinks with a buddy — you can even bring  this reusable cup  to do so!

Now, let’s dive into our ultimate guide to drinking around the world at EPCOT! These are our favorite beverages in every country in the World Showcase.

Best Drink in EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion

La Fin Du Monde ($11)

Best Drinks Around the World - What to Order at Canada

Whether you start in Canada or Mexico is up to you (though we know most Disney World regulars have strong opinions about this). For this guide, we’ll start in Canada with some deliciously strong beer. It might sound odd, but trust us – head to the popcorn cart. The  Canada pavilion’s popcorn cart  serves a few unique beverages. There’s always the Ottawa Apple ($14), but it’s pretty sweet, so I recommend saving your liquor for elsewhere. Instead, go with the La Fin Du Monde ($11), which is quite a strong beer. If you like Belgian-style beer, this is a great pick.

Best Drink at the United Kingdom Pavilion in EPCOT

Pimm’s Cup ($13)

EPCOT Best Drinks Around The World - The Pimms Cup in England at Rose and Crown

Continuing our world tour, we’re heading to the United Kingdom pavilion. The  Rose & Crown Pub  is EPCOT’s version of a classic UK pup, which we love. Here, you can’t go wrong with a Pimm’s Cup ($13). Light and fruity with hints of cucumber, this one is perfect for a hot park day. It’s relatively weaker on the alcohol side, but it offers an excellent opportunity to take it slow and make room for more potent drinks later on. If you aren’t a Pimm’s fan and want a more robust alcohol flavor, try a Guinness ($10) or the Snake Bite ($10). Both are my go-to’s, depending on the day!

The Best Drinks at EPCOT’s France Pavilion

Grand Marnier Orange Slush ($14.50)

Our Ultimate guide to drinking around the world - the Grand Marnier Slushie at France

The France pavilion is a guest favorite for a reason. It has great attractions, great food, and of course, great drinks. Head to  Les Vins des Chefs de France  and order one of the slushes for $14.50. Seasonal alcoholic slushy drinks are often available throughout the year (the La Vie en Rose slush is an EPCOT icon), but you can try the Orange and Citron versions year-round. You can’t go wrong with either (I’ve had both!), but the Grand Marnier with Orange Slush and Grey Goose was my winner. It will melt fast in the Florida heat, but you’ll want to drink it quickly anyway. Served ice cold with a strong orange flavor and light notes of vodka, this one is majorly delish and worth picking up!

EPCOT’s Best Drinks in Morocco

Moroccan Mule ($15)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by @travelingturnt

Making our way to Morocco, stop at the bar at  Spice Road Table  and order the Moroccan Mule ($15). You may be tempted to write this one off as just a standard mule, but the fig vodka brings something interesting to the party. The drink tastes super unique, and you can definitely taste the fig flavor, which I love! The house-made red sangria ($13) is a solid backup option if you’re craving wine.

The Best Drink at the Japan Pavilion

Violet Sake ($8.50)

Best Drinks Around the World 2022 EPCOT - Japan's Violet Sake

Moving onto another guest-favorite World Showcase pavilion, you’ve reached Japan. No surprise here — the Violet Sake ($8.50) reigns supreme. Find it at the  Kabuki Cafe  outdoor kiosk near Mitsukoshi. This drink is highly Instagram-able and delicious, a touch sweet with notes of pear. The Sake Mist shave ice beverages are also sold here for $10, and while they’re spectacular to look at and great for your social feed, I usually find their flavors to be lackluster. There are better frozen drinks around this pavilion.

The Best Drink at the American Pavilion

Frozen Mint Julep ($15)

The Ultimate Guide to Drinking around the world - the best drink at the American Adventure Pavilion

The American Adventure pavilion will mark the halfway point of your drink-around-the-world challenge. And, unexpectedly, this location has one of my favorite drinks in all of EPCOT! Go to the outdoor bar at the  Regal Eagle Smokehouse  and order the Frozen Mint Julep for $15 — it’s incredible! This frozen twist on the American classic is worth waiting in an outdoor line for. But, if you’re over your personal frozen drink limit for the day, I think the Moonshine Sour is a great alternative. It’s a bit sweet, but still delicious.

The Best Wine Flight at EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion

‘Under a Tuscan Sun’ Wine Flight ($17)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Everything_disney (@everything_disney1071)

We’ve reached Italy, and it’s time for wine. Head to  Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar  and order the Under a Tuscan Sun wine flight. For $17, this will allow you to sample three Italian wines, including a well-rounded mix of reds with oaky notes and balanced flavor profiles. Tutto Gusto has a great grab-and-go menu and lounge seating, so you can take your wine flight with you as you meander the pavilion or sit a while and rest your feet before you continue your World Showcase tour.

The Best Beer in EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion

Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen ($10.25)

What To Get Drinking Around the World - The grapefruit beer in Germany

The Germany pavilion (and Germany IRL) is known for beer, so naturally, we have one to suggest. The grapefruit beer is highly recommended and doesn’t disappoint, and I honestly think non-beer drinkers will love this one! Order the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen — or simply call it the grapefruit beer — at  Sommerfest  for $10.25. If you’re not into citrus flavors, try the Warsteiner Dunkel ($10.25) for a more classic German beer taste.

The Best Drinks at the China Pavilion

Tipsy Ducks in Love ($13)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by YourBestTeaCC🧋 (@astoldbyumma)

Once you arrive at the China pavilion, it’s time for some sweet and strong drinks! My favorite is the Tipsy Ducks in Love ($13), a chocolaty iced coffee and tea beverage with bourbon. It’s strong, and if you don’t love coffee, this won’t be your thing, but I love it, especially with added boba. An honorable mention is the Honey Hibiscus Iced Tea ($12), which is available with or without alcohol if you need a booze break. Find all of these bevs and more at  Joy of Tea .

What to Drink at EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion

Frozen Viking Coffee ($14)

What Drink Around The World - Norway Area featuring the Viking Coffee

If you’re about ready for a midday (or midnight, depending on when you’re hanging out in EPCOT!) nap, then I’ve got the perfect solution for you. It’s time to caffeinate at the Norway pavilion! Head to the always iconic  Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe . Order the Frozen Viking Coffee ($14), which is, in my opinion, one of the tastiest frozen beverages in the park. It features Bailey’s Irish Cream, coffee liquor, and coffee chocolate crunch flakes on top. I love it! If you or any of your drinking buddies are craving another beer, go with the Aass Nordic Draft Beer ($10.75), a crisp and light pilsner from one of the oldest breweries in Norway. And if you’re taking an alcohol break, the frozen coffee comes non-alcoholic in the form of the Kristoff Kaffe for $5.99!

The Best Drinks in the Mexico Pavilion

La Cava Avocado ($17)

View this post on Instagram A post shared by L E X 💛 (@thepixietraveler)

Finally, we’ve reached Mexico, and we’re saving the best for last.  La Cava del Tequila  is a must-try location in EPCOT whether you’re drinking around the world or not! My top recommendation here is La Cava Avocado ($17). It’s creamy, buttery smooth, and has a touch of melon flavor, making it one of the most memorable drinks in the park. If you’re in the mood for something spicy, go for the El Diablo ($16), which pairs tequila with cucumber and jalapeño. La Cava del Tequila serves over 200 tequilas and top-shelf cocktails, so you truly can’t go wrong.

First-Timers Guide to Drinking Around the World at Epcot

February 29, 2024 //  by  disneytrippers //   5 Comments

If you are looking for tips for drinking around the world at Epcot, you have come to the right place! Epcot has always been my favorite park, and there is so much to see all around the World Showcase that you could be there for weeks.

That being said, you aren’t here for the history, you are here because you are coming for your Epcot drink around the world experience! This ultimate guide will help you figure out just how to do that. YES there are ways and many do’s and don’ts that you should subscribe to if you are adding this activity to your Epcot itinerary!

Epcot’s “drink around the world” fame came for a good reason! It is a FUN thing for adults to do at Disney World . Epcot allows you to indulge in your adult side. The best part? There are also plenty of drinks without alcohol so if someone in your group doesn’t drink, they can still join in the fun!

If you plan on drinking around the world on your visit to Disney World resort, you have to have my favorites: the Sake Slushy, the Orange Slush, and the Strawberry Daiquiri!

Get ready to learn the tips and tricks necessary for making your Epcot drink around the world dreams come true!

Where to Start Drinking in the World Showcase

EVERYBODY says to start at Mexico and end at Canada. This is WRONG and hear me out! If you start at Mexico, you will be saving the VERY BEST DRINKS in Epcot for the end when you are broke and super drunk.

NO! I want you to ENJOY these drinks as they are truly the best of the best and you will get to drink three of them in a row! If you start at Mexico , you will start with a huge tequila drink and while it is delicious, it is very strong and large. You will fill up and won’t be interested in the BEST drinks at Epcot.

For reference, the BEST drinks at Epcot come from France, Morrocco, and Japan. I have recommended these drinks to MANY people and they have ALL loved them. Whether you are a guy or gal or a heavy drinker or someone who hardly drinks, these are drinks that EVERYONE totally loves!

Instead, I recommend starting at Canada, where you will begin with a simple beer or wine. Then, you will head to the UK pavilion where again, you will have a beer or something similar. Beers are much lighter than blended drinks so it is a good intro to the next three drinks.

After you are done with a simple drink at Canada and the UK, you will then hit France, Morrocco, and Japan, all in a row. You will get to enjoy the BEST OF THE BEST Epcot drinks right off the bat, not after you have visited 6 prior countries and are probably ready to give up and go home.

Of course, you can plan your own Epcot drink around the world experience, but this is my insider tip to make your experience go smoothly.

Stop-by-Stop Guide to Drinking Around the World at Epcot

Below, I will show you the very best drinks at Epcot! I will also include their updated prices. You will begin in Canada and go counter-clockwise around the world showcase. I will also rate based on taste, but remember, this rating can vary depending on your specific interests and tastes!

Please keep in mind that your Epcot drink around the world experience is very specific to you and what you like. That being said, I have taken many people to Epcot and have suggested my favorite drinks to them, and they have always been a huge hit.

You may show up for your drinks around the world at Epcot and decide you want something else, and that is okay! There are lots of options there, but here are my picks for Epcot’s best drinks:

Canada – Moosehead Draft ($10.75)

Taste rating: 6/10

The Moosehead Draft in Canada has been a fan favorite for years! I remember going to Epcot with friends almost 10 years ago and this staple beer was their favorite! If you are looking for the best drinks at Epcot, this is a good one to start with.

It is a VERY light beer so don’t expect anything dark or strong, but it is refreshing and a good way to start off your drinking around the world. It isn’t anything fantastic, but it is one of the best that Canada offers.

You can get this drink at the popcorn cart that is outside of the gardens and Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion.

Of course, if this isn’t the type you prefer, there are many beers around the world at Epcot and Canada has other options for you to choose from.

womans hand holding beer in front of large stone building

UK – Strongbow Cider ($11.25)

Taste rating: 7.5/10

If you want an imperial pint, it will be a little over $11 and you can choose from a variety of ales, lagers, and stouts. Our suggestion is the Strongbow Cider. It has a lovely taste and is a family favorite that my sister and her boyfriend get every time they visit Epcot.

The pub blends are also very popular here, like the Snake Bite Imperial Pint and Half & Half Imperial Pint. These are the same price as the single ales and lagers, but have different combinations based off your tastes!

You can get these beers inside the Rose And Crown Pub in the UK pavilion, which is home to some of the best beers around the world at Epcot. The Rose and Crown Dining Room next door is also home to some of the best food in Epcot as well!

Still aren’t sure what to get? Ask the bartenders who are often from the UK which beer in Epcot you should get! They will have specific local suggestions.

France – Orange Slush ($14.95)

Taste rating: 10/10

This is the cream of the crop and one of my top three drinks at Epcot. If you are drinking around the world, make sure to budget for this beverage! You can’t miss it and shouldn’t do yourself that disservice. This is a drink that everyone loves, regardless of tastes!

This tasty beverage is a mix between Grand Mariner Rum, Grey Goose, and Orange Juice. It is frozen to perfection and perfect for a hot Florida day! It is hands down, one of the best drinks at Disney!

You can find it at Les Vins des Chefs de France, the beverage cart that is across from Chefs De France, one of the best Epcot restaurants . It isn’t hard to find and usually always has a long line because it is a fan favorite.

It is truly one of the best drinks in Epcot, and sometimes even comes in other flavors. This blended drink that France offers is never a bad choice and I beg you to save your money for this one while drinking around the world at Epcot!

Morocco – Strawberry Daiquiri ($15.50)

For whatever reason, the Strawberry Daiquiri is one of the more expensive drinks at Epcot, but it is TOTALLY worth it! This is one of my top three favorite drinks at Epcot and why I recommend visiting the World Showcase in this order.

The Strawberry Daquiri isn’t a plain old daiquiri though, it’s frozen and comes with Rum, Strawberry, And Orange Blossom Water. It is a deep shade of red and SO good. It is one of those drinks where you can’t “taste” the liquor until it is too late. If you only want to get a few drinks at Epcot, this is one of them and you won’t regret it!

You can find this drink at the Oasis Sweets & Sips Kiosk to the left of the pavilion as you are about to exit Morrocco and head counterclockwise to Japan.

They also do a non-alcoholic version of this drink so if you are doing a “dry” version of drinking around the world at Epcot or have a mixed crew, this is a great choice for you.

Japan – Sake Slushy ($12)****Disney Trippers Favorite****

Taste rating: 11/10 😉

If I could only choose ONE DRINK to recommend at the World Showcase, this would be it. The blackberry Sake Slushy in the Japan pavilion is what I recommend to EVERYONE and everyone loves it. This is my top favorite drink at Epcot.

I asked the Cast Member working there what flavor she suggested, and she said blackberry. I have never looked back since. The flavor is perfect and light and the sake is delicious. This is one of the best drinks at Epcot and is served over shaved ice that you can hear being blended right as you are ordering.

I can’t tell you how many people I have suggested this drink to who continue to rave about it, but the number is high.

You can find this fantastic creation at the Kabuki Cafe on the outside of the Japan Pavilion. Please do yourself a favor and get the Sake Slushy in Blackberry as part of your Epcot drink around the world journey! I promise that you won’t regret it!

America – Sam Adams Seasonal ($12)

By now, you would have tried my top three favorite drinks in all of Epcot. This is the trifecta, but it is now time for a simple beer. What is more American than a Sam Adams Seasonal beer?

There’s always a great seasonal option, which means you can have a different beer if you go at different times of the year. If you can’t choose, I recommend picking a local Floridian beer to help support small businesses!

You can find this drink at the Fife & Drum Tavern kiosk in the America pavilion.

If you are looking for great beers around the world at Epcot, this is the place to get it. America is heavy on beer and less so on blended/liquor drinks.

womans hand holding up beer with flowers and colonial brick building in the background

Italy – Peach Bellini ($14)

Taste rating: 9/10

If I could have an honorable mention favorite drink, it would be the Peach Bellini from Italy! After my top three favorite drinks in Epcot, this is my fourth. The downsides are that you have to wait forever, which is typical of even visiting Italy, and then once you get your size, it is puny for the steep $14 price tag.

This drink goes quickly. It tastes AMAZING but the size is really small. Unlike the blackberry sake or the daiquiri which are larger drinks, this one is served in a champagne flute and is super tiny.

I still recommend it and think it is one of the best-tasting drinks at Epcot! It is a simple peach puree and prosecco. It was light and refreshing but the portions just weren’t big enough for the price!

If you are drinking around the world at Epcot with a larger crew, I would suggest ordering two or more of these as everyone will really only get a tiny sip. They are really good so it is sad the portion is so small compared to other options.

You can find this drink at Gelateria Toscana, which is the gelato kiosk at the front of the Italy pavilion.

hand holding up a bellini against italian architecture while drinking around the world at disney's epcot

Germany – Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen ($11.50)

Taste rating: 8.5/10

The Grapefruit Beer in Germany is our favorite beer in Epcot! This is one of the few places you can even get this beer, and the flavor is so unique. The size is great too, and this is a wonderful place to stop and have a giant Bavarian pretzel with some mustard too!

You can find the Grapefruit Beer at Sommerfest in Germany. This is definitely one of the best Epcot beers around the world. You can’t miss it as there is always a decent line for people looking to try it and other beers that this pavilion has to offer!

I suggest getting the giant Bavarian pretzel to go along with this beer and soak up the alcohol you have had. The pretzel is bigger than your face so it is quite large and well worth the price. It is perfect for sharing with whoever you are drinking at Epcot with.

woman holding a yellow glass of grapefruit beer while drinking around the world at epcot

China – Plum Wine ($9.75)

Taste rating: 7/10

The plum wine in China is a family favorite and a great way to reduce your spending if your Epcot drink around the world cost is pretty high by this point. I do recommend just a sip per person as the portion is quite small.

My sister tried the plum wine on her 21st birthday when we drank around the world in celebration, and now she has plum wine for every holiday and birthday that she hosts!

You can find the plum wine inside the Lotus Blossom Cafe which is one of the quick-service restaurants at Epcot.

If you are looking for other drink ideas in the China Pavilion, the Joy of Tea cart has great alcoholic and non-alcoholic options! The Tipsy Ducks in Love is a guest favorite, and you can’t wrong with a Bubble Tea either!

woman holding glass of Plum Wine In Epcot China with people and Chinese temple in the background

Norway – Einstök White Ale ($12)

The Einstok White Ale is actually from Iceland, one of my favorite countries, despite being served in the Norway Pavilion. It is a typical Scandanavian Beer and one of the best choices out of your limited options from the Norway pavilion.

If there is a Epcot Festival going on, you could try a seasonal drink that will be expensive but smaller in size if you don’t like any of the offerings at the Norwegian drink cart which is where the Einstök White Ale can be found.

It is large for the price, but one of the more expensive beers at Epcot. Either way, it is a solid choice and you really can’t go wrong with this option. I have actually had this very beer in Iceland itself with Icelandic friends.

hand holding beer in front of Norwegian church drinking around the world in Epcot

Mexico – Mango Loco Margarita ($13.50)

Taste rating: 8/10

You will end your journey drinking around the world at Epcot in Mexico. The margarita stand here, Choza de Margarita, is very popular and our favorite drinks from here are the Mango Loco Margarita OR the Fiesta which is a combination of the three frozen margarita flavors. It is very strong with tequila, so maybe this would be a great time to grab a quick snack of some chips and guacamole.

If you are feeling adventurous for your last drink, I suggest heading inside the Mexico pavilion to the hidden La Cava De Tequelia and trying the Avocado Margarita. Yes, it sounds weird, but it is fantastic and you can’t go wrong!

La Cava De Tequila is really a hidden gem around the World Showcase that you will love. They have more top shelf drinks, but are worth it if you’re looking for fancier drinks for what to drink at Epcot.

Average Cost of Drinking Around the World at Epcot

The Epcot drink around the world cost varies depending on what you get and your group. If you drink around the world at every country in Epcot, you are going to be spending at least $8-$15 per drink. Of course, each person in your group must also pay for their park ticket to enter Epcot as well.

Keep in mind that Disney seems to raise the prices every year, and if you are going during one of the many festivals at Epcot and are drinking from the festival carts, prices may be quite high and portions smaller than what is suggested here.

The average cost Epcot drink around the world cost ranges between $100-$140. If you are getting non-alcoholic beverages or are not drinking at every country, budget for the prices to be a little lower.

This is exactly why I recommend drinking around the world at Epcot with friends or in a larger group. If each drink costs $10, each one of you can pick up one drink and only spend $10 the entire time. Even if you split $100 total four ways, each of you is still only paying $25 and there will be PLENTY of liquor to go around!

At the end of the day, $25 a person for drinking all day at Disney is beyond reasonable and you can always add more if you want more Epcot drink around the world fun!

When I drank around the world, I spent $137.20.  I got a drink from each Epcot country and I even saved a little bit based on my choice from China. I would add $5+ more if you got a drink with liquor instead of wine from China as I did.

I would say that spending $100 is on the VERY low end and assuming you get some drinks that are under $12 per country and no drinks that are over. There are a few very good drinks that are over $12 per country [for a total of $137 assuming you spent no more than $12 per country]. Drinking around the world at Disney is expensive, but doesn’t have to break the bank when done correctly.

As you can see, the Epcot drink around the world cost varies widely. It all depends on which drinks you choose, how many drinks you decide to have, and how many people you are splitting the costs with. There are a lot of factors that can drastically change that price for drinking around the world showcase at Epcot, as I’ve shown you with my price breakdowns above.

Don’t forget to check out our list of the Best Things To Do In Epcot for help planning your trip!

beer tour disney world

Who to Drink with Around the World Showcase

One of the most important parts of drinking around the world at Epcot is choosing your crew! You are going to want people who are FUN to drink around the world at Epcot with! You are going to want people who have some money to burn and who are open to trying different things.

You are also going to want people who aren’t afraid to try some snacks too, because a big part of drinking around the world at Disney is also SNACKING around the world showcase.

World Showcase offers drinks that are primarily beers and frozen/regular cocktails. There are some wines you can choose, but these are the main types of drinks. If your group has a variety of drinkers in it, some who prefer beer, and some who prefer blended drinks, you will be good to go when planning your Epcot drink around the world crew.

This is what I have done when I have gone drinking around the world at Disney. Some of the group loved beer, some of the group loved cocktails, and some of the group loved everything! This allows you to not waste money in the event that somebody in your group doesn’t like something while drinking around the world at Epcot.

people holding beer glasses together while drinking around the world at epcot

Finally, I caution you against drinking around the world alone or with one other person. Yes, you CAN drink around the world solo or in a duo, but I HIGHLY recommend not getting a drink at every country. It is a LOT of alcohol and the portions are actually quite massive. You don’t want to get drunk during Disney around the world drinking and make a fool out of yourself or get kicked out.

My sister and her boyfriend are huge drinkers and it was even a lot for them and we were in a party of 5. If you don’t want to wait around for a large group to be able to go with you, by all means go with a smaller party, but I do caution you against getting something alcoholic at every country.

The drinks are HUGE in many cases and you will be three sheets to the wind by the time you are halfway through!

Simply look through my list of suggested drinks at Epcot and then go from there on what you like the best. As I mentioned above, there are beers around the world at Epcot, cocktails, some wine, whatever you like.

Finally, I think it would be amazing to drink around the world with 11 friends! This way, each of you can buy one drink and nobody will be out too much money! But, a group of 5-7 people is the average size that people take to Epcot for this activity.

Epcot Drinking Around the World Passport

One of the best ways to have a little fun while getting drinks around the world at Epcot is to keep track of them on a cute drinking around the world passport! These can easily be found for cheap on Etsy and are perfect if your group isn’t into wearing matching t-shirts, which a lot of people aren’t!

This is a great way to keep track of the countries in Epcot you have tried a drink in and also shows other people and cast members what your goal is. I love the idea of passports as you are “traveling” and it is a super cute way of showing off what you have tasted so far!

This Is The Epcot Drink Around The World Passport We Recommend!

What To Wear When Drinking Around The World

First off, make sure you are COMFORTABLE. You’re going to be doing a lot of walking, a lot of eating and drinking, and Disney World is hot most of the year! Make sure you have on comfortable shoes , clothes you can move around in, and be prepared for hot weather and rain.

Next, you are going to want to wear a cute drink around the world T-shirt ! Etsy is filled with them and they are very popular to wear around the park to let others know that you are drinking around the world! I think this is so very cute and there are shirts for people of all styles!

Whether you are going with a gaggle of girls who love all things pretty or are heading out with the guys , there is an Epcot drink around the world shirt for everyone! Also, cast members will know you are drinking around the world and will interact with you more than normal. It is a fun and totally Disney thing to do for adults!

Drink Around The World Final Thoughts:

If you can only choose a few drinks at Epcot, I do recommend the drinks from France, Japan, and Morrocco as these are crowd-pleasers for anyone that I bring to Epcot! Remember to have $100-$120 just for drinks alone, and don’t forget to hydrate with water. You should drink one bottle or cup of water for each drink that you try.

You should also not forget to eat! There are plenty of amazing things to eat at Epcot, and that’s one of the things I love about the World Showcase! Some of my favorites are pizza in Italy, popcorn, pretzels in Germany, and chips and guac in Mexico.

There are plenty of fantastic food and drinks at Epcot and I know that you are going to have a fun time!

First of all, your drink list sucks. Second, you only did one lap? Any asshole with half a liver can drink around the world, legends are born when you do it AT LEAST twice in the same day.

Drinking Around the World at Epcot 2023 – The Guide

Photo of author

Drinking Around The World at Epcot is an unofficial Disney event that anyone over the age of majority can hold on their own.

On this post

In it, you will taste several typical drinks from each of the countries within their respective pavilions of the World showcase .

We can say that this is a unique experience and that it goes directly against the park's proposal.

The Epcot was created to celebrate different cultures and experiences from the past, present and future. As such, Drinking Around the World is one of today's best ways for adults to experience different cultures!

Epcot

As for Drinking Around The World, we can be sure of at least three things:

– It is not an activity for children, as it involves alcoholic beverages;

– It is also not an activity for those who want to get drunk or drink too much, because the proposal is to promote a cultural experience;

– You leave the activity with much more knowledge than when you entered, as you go through attractions and tastings from 11 different countries.

Despite being a very fun activity, Drinking Around the World was not something officially created by Disney.

The park's visitors themselves proposed this challenge and you can do it any day you want.

So you won't find anything about Drinking Around the World on Disney's official website.

But don't worry, we'll give you all the information and tips so you can enjoy this unofficial event with peace of mind!

Frozen Beer at the Japan Pavilion

See what Epcot's Drinking Around the World is, learn how it works, and stay tuned for tips to get the most out of this challenge.

What is Drinking Around The World

First we need to talk about Epcot.

It is a park that has 11 pavilions in the World showcase and each of them corresponds to a country, bringing a little of the culture of each location with shows and attractions, customs and cuisine of each location.

These countries are: Canada, United States, Mexico , United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, Norway , morocco, Japan and China .

The Drinking Around the World it is a challenge that walks through these pavilions and proposes the tasting of a drink in each of these places.

That is, during your tour in each of the pavilions of the epcot countries you will drink/taste a typical drink from that country.

Seems interesting? Really is!

In this guide we will talk about what you will find in each of these 11 countries for your experience.

How Much Does Drinking Around the World Cost?

We get this question all the time from those planning to do Drinking Around the World.

Naturally, the price will depend on the drinks you choose, and this can even be a very decisive factor in your choices.

There are drinks that will easily cost more than $20 while a beer in Germany will cost around $11.

In order to provide a relative value, let's consider an average value of $16.50 for each drink (not counting the tips ).

If you complete and have a drink in each of the 11 different pavilions, your total cost will be approximately $181.50.

It's not a cheap activity, but consider sharing the drinks so you can enjoy them all and still save a little during the event. We talk more about tips like this at the end of this post.

Drinking around the World 2023 Roadmap at Epcot

Once you enter Epcot you can start in Mexico and end in Canada, or go the other way around.

Here, we'll consider going counterclockwise, starting the epcot tour of Canada, but feel free to proceed in any format you like.

The reason for this is very simple.

We consider tequila to be one of the strongest alcoholic drinks and the one that mixes the least with others.

As in Mexico the drink of choice is tequila, we recommend that you save it for the end, as this way you are more likely to be able to try more drinks in different countries.

To facilitate your understanding, here is a map of the World Showcase at Epcot.

Canada pavilion

Let's assume you start your script around lunchtime (remembering that it's very important to eat before you drink).

If your intention in Canada is to have a meal, Le Cellier restaurant it will be an option to get into the Canadian mood (we recommend leaving room for dessert in France).

The restaurant has Canadian cuisine with a special emphasis on meats, broths and potatoes with traditional Canadian sauces.

Beer at the Canada Pavilion - Drinking Around the World at Epcot

As for drinks, if you want to really get into the Canadian atmosphere, one of the most typical is Caesar, which you can consider as their caipirinha.

At Le Cellier restaurant you can find it on the menu with the name Le Cellier Lot 40 Bloody Caesar. But watch out for the ingredients, you might not like it.

In Le Cellier's version, the drink is made with whiskey, a blend of spices and clam juice, which is made with tomato juice, clam broth (a type of clam) and spices.

You can order a Canadian beer too to enjoy with your meal, or if you're heading to the next country soon, there's a popcorn cart in the Canadian pavilion that serves Canadian beers!

UK pavilion

The next stop is in the country of Pubs, there is a very pleasant place called Rose & Crown Pub.

The establishment has a variety of special cocktails on its menu, in addition to the typical beers of the country.

Carlos and Nath - Drinking Around the World - England

But to drink beers, the UK Beer Cart that is next to the Pub can be more interesting, as it has a huge variety of options and will be much faster.

For a bite to eat or a quick bite to eat, the Yorkshire County Fish Shop is great for enjoying typical UK fish fries.

Super Extra Tip

If you want to enjoy Drinking Around the World 2023 and not waste time sitting in a kiosk or restaurant, we recommend that you transport your drink in a Stanley Mug or Pint around the park

That's because in Orlando it can be very hot, so your drinks that should be consumed cold like beers, Margaritas, etc. can heat up very quickly.

The Stanley Mugs or Pints they are very famous for preserving the temperature for a long time, not to mention that between one drink or another, they can serve you to drink water at the water fountain, without having to spend money buying water at the park!

So get yours on amazon at a discount before your trip to the park.

France pavilion

The good part of enjoying a drink in France is the fact that you can opt for something with a lot of sugar, which already helps to give you extra energy.

This is the case with the Ice Cream Martini by L?Artisan des Glaces.

Ice Cream Martini by L?Artisan des Glaces

The drink consists of two scoops of ice cream, rum, Grand Marnier and whipped cream.

So you combine dessert and drink in one.

Another strong point of France is its wines and sparkling wines, and if that's your option, stop at Le Vins de France.

Drinking Around the World at Epcot - Sparkling Wine at the France Pavilion

To eat, nothing better than some typical bakery delight you'll find at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie or a crepe at the kiosk Crepes des Chefs de France.

Morocco pavilion

Mediterranean cuisine is always well represented in Orlando in general.

At Epcot, the Morocco pavilion also reinforces this.

Cocktails and Moroccan beers can be enjoyed at Spice Road Table .

Morocco Pavilion - Drinking Around The World

At Tangierine Cafe there are several options on the menu for meals. Wraps, shawarmas and falafel, as well as vegetarian options are some of the food options.

japan pavilion

In the land of sake you will find the Sake Bar with several options of Japanese drinks and dishes and naturally this is the drink that visitors usually drink here.

Violet Sake - Japan Pavilion - Drinking Around the World Epcot

Another option is the Kabuki Cafe with its Kirin Frozen. It's a drink that looks like those slushies.

It's made with a kirin Draft with ice foam keeping it really cold.

For meals, a good option is at Katsura Grill which also serves cocktails.

United States pavilion

In the American pavilion, craft beers are present at Block & Hans in addition to the traditional local cheese pretzel with jalapeno.

For dining by the drink, Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue is the restaurant that replaced the Liberty Inn.

There you can even find a super famous drink sought after by Drinking Around the World participants, the Moonshine Sour.

We just love this Drink, so much so that we now drink it almost every time we go to the park.

Carlos and Nath - Drinking Around the World - USA Moonnight Sour

The restaurant has a good range of craft beers.

The restaurant offers other typical American drink options such as ciders, wines and cocktails.

A great piece of information to reinforce here are the vegetarian and vegan options, and they also have plant-based burgers.

Italy pavilion

We arrived at my favorite pavilion!

If you haven't had wine yet during this tour, the time is now and the place is at La Bottega Italiana or Adega Tutto Gusto.

Tutto Italia Epcot

Sangrias and cocktails are other drink options in addition to typical dishes from the traditional pasta country.

At the tutto italy , in addition to a vast menu with Italian options ranging from carpaccio to traditional pasta, the drinks really do justice to the Italy .

Some drinks are made with Vermouth, others with Prosseco and others with the traditional limoncello.

We had the Limoncello and we recommend it, delicious and super refreshing.

The reinterpretation of these drinks with Italian ingredients gives a super special touch and an extra taste of Italy.

Germany pavilion

We have arrived in the land of beer and a good option is to select what you want to drink from the beer cart that you will easily find in the Germany pavilion.

But if your intention is to stop for a meal, it's good to know that in Biergarten Restaurant you pay per person and eat all you want.

Carlos and Nath - Drinking Around the World - Beer in Germany

Beers are also served without hesitation in ½ liter or 1 liter portions. You don't have the 350 ml can, no.

It is worth asking for the tasting of German beers that come in 5 different types.

Wines and shots of Jägermeister or Bärenjäger can also be enjoyed during a meal at the Biergarten Restaurant.

In those countries where we drink beer, the Stanley cups or any other thermos cups that you take can help you immensely so that you can continue walking and enjoying the shows that take place in the streets of the pavilions.

China pavilion

Drinks and meals are enjoyed at Joy of Tea at Nine Dragons Restaurant, or for quick bites, the Lotus Blossom Cafe .

As for drinks, there are Chinese beers like Tsing Tao sold at both restaurants and Lucky Buddah.

Joy of Tea - China Epcot

However, the drinks are different readings with ingredients that we find in other places.

But if you'd rather drink than beer, try one anyway.

Just don't expect to find a typical Chinese drink.

A tip is to try the BaiJoe Punch that at least uses a Chinese distillate in its composition in addition to lychee, coconut and pineapple.

norway pavilion

In the Norway beer cart you will find several options.

Frozen Viking Coffee - Drinking Around the World - Norway Pavilion

In addition to beer there is a drink with coffee there that is delicious, its name is Frozen Viking Coffee, a sweet alcoholic drink of coffee with liqueur.

Carlos and Nath - Drinking Around the World - Norway

If you are going to stop by to eat at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall In addition to tasty meals, you will find many interesting drinks such as the Magical Star, with organic x-fusion mango and passion fruit liqueur, pineapple juice, coconut flavored rum and a bright multicolored ice cube that you can take home as a souvenir.

Another interesting drink from Akershus is the Café Viking which combines coffee liqueur and Baileys Irish Cream.

Mexico pavilion

Finishing the tour, we arrive at the country of tequila that we mentioned at the beginning of the post.

If you follow the script in that order, you'll notice that it will be night by now, so it's a good time to have dinner.

Among the restaurant options in the Mexico pavilion, one of them is the San Angel Inn , a restaurant that has many food options on the menu, as well as many drinks, cocktails and margaritas.

It Takes Two to Mango Margarita and Blood Orange Charm Margarita - Drinking Around the WOrld at the Mexico Pavilion

At San Angel you can order a tasting of tequila that the house has on the menu and if you have a group of friends, the tasting will be very quiet to end the night well.

At Choza de Margarita, there are plenty of options for this drink, as well as quick snacks.

The well-known Mexican beers Dos Equis are found there as well, but the most interesting options of varied cocktails are at La Cava del Tequila, which has more than 200 tequila options on its menu.

Tips For Drinking Around The World 202 3

We'll briefly talk here about some recommendations to make your Drinking Around the World 2023 experience more enjoyable

Taste the drinks

The real tasters are not those who drink heavily, but those who enjoy the drink.

Take that mindset with you as you venture into this challenge.

So, instead of thinking this is a challenge to drink 11 alcoholic drinks in less time, spread each one of them over a longer period of stay in the park.

Drinking Around the World at Epcot - Norway Pavilion

Trying the drink is only part of this journey, even the drink is just a door to a world experience!

Exploring each space of each pavilion while you enjoy a drink, or enjoying a good meal with spices that you are not used to tasting while combining it with your drink, is what makes the challenge worth it.

A good alternative is to start there at lunchtime and extend into the evening. This is also a challenge to do among friends, or at least with a company. So you can split the doses.

drinking-around-the-world-epcot-france-grand-mariner

Pay attention to age

Normally I wouldn't need to cite this here. But different countries in the world have different restrictions on alcohol consumption.

As you are in the United States, in all World Showcase countries the restriction is the same, so to do this challenge you must be over 21 years old and always carry your passport with you, as it can be requested.

Another important thing is to start the day with a good breakfast and not consume alcohol without being well fed. Also take the opportunity to eat along the way.

You don't need to stuff yourself, but it's important to get some glucose into your body during the tour.

If you don't want to spend on food, take some snacks (Buy in advance) in your backpack for snacking and take a break to eat at mealtimes.

We recommend that you take your snacks from home and don't leave to buy them there!

Do not drink and drive

Another obvious thing that a lot of people forget, or don't give due importance, is to go by Uber or take one of those transports from the Disney complex, in case you are in one of your hotels .

France Pavilion at Epcot

Even if possible, this is one of our recommendations. Look into staying at a Disney hotel even just for a few days to do Drinking Around The World 2023.

The ease of transportation from Disney to the parks will make your life a lot easier.

Or even one of the parks you can walk from the hotel to the park like Boardwalk Inn and Disney's Beach Club .

It seems obvious, but many people think that it is enough to go a few hours without drinking before getting in the car again, that everything is fine, and that's not it.

The important thing is that you do not drive if you are going to drink and that you are not with a driver (friend, relative) who has been drinking.

Can you imagine getting in trouble in the US for drunk driving?

Plan, Plan and Plan

As we always say, planning for a trip to Disney is critical.

If necessary, look for our professional travel consultancy to help them put together an itinerary for their trip!

Pick up a map at the park entrance and try to distribute the time spent on site among all the attractions and enjoy each one as you fulfill the challenge.

Drinking around the World at Epcot is just one of many exciting activities for you to enjoy Epcot.

Figment 50th Anniversary Statue at Epcot with Monorail

By following these tips, you will be able to make the most of this experience while having your Drinking around the World at Epcot.

Drink water

For several reasons. First of all, plenty of water will help you go further in drinking around the world without starting to get high on alcohol.

And that's not what we're looking for here, right?

And second, it's important for your health. Alcohol dehydrates and depending on what time of year you are doing this experiment, it is possible that it will be very hot.

This combination can make you feel sick or even pass out. Simple things like a glass of water after every drink can prevent any more serious problems.

Of course, to save money and not have to buy water all day at the park, you have 2 options, the first is to take water bottles with you or take a stanley thermos bottle and fill it with water from the drinking fountains around the park.

If need be, you can order glasses of ice at any kiosk or restaurant which they will give you for free too!

Stay hydrated!

Share your Drinks

This is a practical tip both for getting further in Drinking around the World and for your pocket.

Some drinks are quite large, avoid waste and share them.

And let's face it, drinking in a group is much more fun anyway!

Extra tip (Learn from our mistakes)

On our last trip of 2019 which was our engagement trip , we decided to do Drinking Around the World.

Drinking Around the World at Epcot

On that day, we had a reservation at the San Angel Inn and there we decided to order the same Tequilas tasting that we recommend in this post (but note that we mentioned, group of friends).

In this case, it was just the 2 of us and what happened was, the tequila flight (as the tasting is called) was huge and when we left the restaurant we had to abort the idea of doing Drinking Around the World, as it would be too much to drink.

The tip is, don't exaggerate people, especially in the first drinks, there's a lot of good stuff there, order the smallest versions whenever possible!

Drinking Around the World at Epcot’s World Showcase in Walt Disney World

beer tour disney world

Drinking Around the World at Epcot's World Showcase in Walt Disney World is a popular activity for adults. The idea is you are literally ‘drinking around the world' as you make your way around the World Showcase trying at least one drink from each country. But prepare yourself, Epcot's World Showcase includes 11 countries so that's a lot of drinks! Most folks make a day of it rather than try to do it all in a short time period.

There's also a bit of a debate of where is the best place to start. Since the World Showcase is essentially a circle you'll make your way around it in order but where do you start? The correct answer is (by popular choice) to start in Mexico and end in Canada. Although you can really start where you want!

How much does it cost to Drink Around the World?

If you add up the total for the popular drinks for each pavilion I list below you get an average total of about $150 with tax. This number could be a little less or more depending on your individual taste but you can expect to set aside at least $100 per person for your Drinking Around the World budget.

Don't forget to budget in your snacks too! It's impossible to Drink Around the World without also tasting all the great food along the way. I would budget on the higher end with $300 per person to account for not just a day of enjoying a drink in every pavilion but snacks and a table service dining reservation along the way.

This would also be a great place to have lunch with your drink so you have a full stomach for your day of drinking. One of my favorite dining spots in Mexico is San Angel Inn Ristorante with a view of the Three Caballeros ride.

But the most popular place to get drinks in Mexico is La Cava del Tequila which will often have long lines throughout the day due to their great margaritas. Even if you decide to dine elsewhere, don't forget to end your adventure with La Cava del Tequila.

Popular drink:  Any of the drinks from La Cava del Tequila! ($16-$22 per drink)

Norway offers some cool theming as you're Drinking Around the World! This is also home to one of the most popular rides in Epcot right now: Frozen Ever After. Take the time to explore, there's a lot of great history hiding in this pavilion.

The main stop for drinks in Norway is the beer cart which offers some authentic Norway beers like Einstök Icelandic White Ale and other Norwegian beers on tap.

Popular Drink:  Troll Kreme at the Norway Beer Cart for $16 (Frozen blend of cranberry and vanilla topped with Bacardi berry rum served in a souvenir cup)

The best place to grab a drink in China is the Joy of Tea kiosk which not only offers a great selection of tea but speciality cocktails. Keep your eyes peeled for any seasonal festival kiosks which tend to always have great drinks.

Popular drink:  Canto Loopy at the Joy of Tea kiosk for $10.50 (vodka and cantaloupe juice)

Germany features a great selection of shops including Weinkeller where you can sample different wine and beers. You can purchase any of the German wines or beer to take home with you making it a great place to take some of that Drinking Around the World spirit home with you.

The beer cart in Germany is also a good choice featuring a wide selection of German beers. But spend some time in the Germany pavilion, the town square theme is picture perfect. And don't forget to grab a bratwurst!

Popular drink: Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen at the Beer and Pretzel Cart for $9.75

Italy is your next stop while Drinking Around the World where you can find something for everyone such as Italian champagne, wine and beer. Enjoy a wine flight with your group at the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar and snack on some small plates like calamari fritti or carpaccio di manzo.

Italy is also a great place to grab dessert especially at the Gelateria Toscana kiosk which features both gelati and a large selection of Italian drinks from Italian margaritas to frozen sangria.

Popular drink:  Any of the wine flights from Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar for $17

The American Adventure (United States)

This is usually a familiar area for most guests that live in the United States but that doesn't mean you still won't find something unique to drink! The Fife & Drum Tavern offers some comfort choices like Bud Light or Samuel Adams but you can also find a speciality drinks at this kiosk like an alcoholic frozen lemonade.

If you're looking for more variety, try the Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue which has the largest selection of beer in the pavilion. You can find beer from all over the USA like IPAs from Florida or wheat ales from Michigan.

Popular drink:  Blue Moon Belgian White Ale at the Fife & Drum Tavern for $8.50

Japan is the place to be to get the best sake in Disney World! You can find a selection of sake at the Kabuki Cafe kiosk near the entrance to the pavilion which also offers sake shaved ice along with non-alcoholic Japanese shaved ice.

There's also great restaurants to enjoy like the Katsura Grill and Teppan Edo which both feature fantastic sushi and a huge variety of sake!

Popular drink:  Sake Mist at the Kabuki Cafe for $9 (alcoholic shaved ice available in blood orange, coconut, pineapple or blueberry)

The popular stop at Morocco is the Spice Road Table where you can enjoy Moroccan and Mediterranean beers along with a fun selection of Mediterranean cocktails. The bar at Spice Road Table offers a ton of variety and seating.

Many guests pass Morocco by but take the time to stroll through it and take in all the details of the land and courtyards.

Popular drink : Moroccan Mule at Spice Road Table for $14 (Figenza fig vodka, ginger beer, agave, and lime)

Our next stop on our tour of Drinking Around the World takes us to the France pavilion which is my personal favorite at Epcot. France offers a wide selection of drinks and food so there's something for everyone in this area.

Les Vins des Chefs de France is a kiosk located right near the front of the land where you can find a variety of regional French wine, champagne and beer. But the real show stopper at this kiosk are the alcoholic slushies.

When it comes to sit down restaurants, the France pavilion has a great option called Chefs de France which serves only French cuisine along with a huge selection of French wines. And if you're in the mood to just grab a snack, try the traditional French bakery called Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie or fill up on some crepes at Crepes des Chefs de France kiosk. Sometimes the kiosk will be swapped out for seasonal Epcot festivals but that will usually result in even more variety on your Drinking Around the World adventure!

Popular drink : Le Grant Slush at Les Vins des Chefs de France for $18 (with a Grand Marnier or Grey Goose citron shot)

United Kingdom

Your next stop in United Kingdom features a themed English bar called the Rose & Crown Pub. This is the best place in United Kingdom to get your drink for your second stop when Drinking Around the World at Epcot. The Rose & Crown Pub offers specialty English cocktails like the Leaping Leprechaun and a great variety of English beers.

If you plan on eating in the United Kingdom, don't forget to grab some fish and chips at the Rose & Crown Pub which also offer a full service bar so you don't need to a reservation if you plan on just grabbing a drink and snack.

Popular drink : the Welsh Dragon at Rose & Crown Pub for $16 (Peach Schnapps, Melon Liqueur, Creme de Menthe, Orange Juice, and Pineapple in a souvenir cup)

And finally, you've reached the end of your journey of Drinking Around the World. Over in Canada, the main drink of choice is a selection of seasonal Canadian beers that you can find at the Popcorn Cart. You can also get maple flavored popcorn at this stand too!

There's no quick-service restaurant in Canada but the table service restaurant called Le Cellier Steakhouse is a popular choice for its great food but also its wide selection of Canadian wines and beers. Canada is always the popular first stop choice for Drinking Around the World at Epcot.

Popular drink : Moosehead Draft at the Popcorn Cart for $9.25

For the 21+ crowd, the magic continues at Walt Disney World with fine dining, impressive cocktails and a top-notch beer scene. Yes, really. Disney knows its beer. The resort has more than 275 cicerone-certified beer servers happy to guide beer lovers through a menu. One of the best ways to check out Disney’s beer game is at Epcot in the World Showcase. Guests can taste brews from around the world at 11 country pavilions, from a pub in the UK to frozen beer in Japan. Oh, and it’s always Oktoberfest over in Germany. Don’t miss the Mediterranean beers at Spice Road Table in the Morocco pavilion.

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

Up your magic at Epcot and visit during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival . In addition to the permanent country pavilions, the festival features beer-heavy countries like Belgium and Ireland. The festival also features specialty brews such as Grasslands Green Kiwi Blonde and JDubs Honeydew Melon Kolsch. This year’s festival runs through November 12.

California Craft Brews in Central Florida

" BaseLine Tap House at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has an outstanding selection of California draft beers and cider," said Jason Cha-Kim, Disney’s Beverage Manager. Cha-Kim would know. He’s responsible for curating menus throughout the park and keeps up with trends in the beer world. For a taste of California, build a flight at Baseline with Golden Road 329 Lager and Hefeweizen, North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner, Angel City IPA and Ace Space Bloody Orange Hard Cider.

Try African and Asian Beers in Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has an emphasis on Asia and Africa and that sense of place continues even in the park restaurants. At the Nomad Lounge , you’ll find bottled beer from Thailand, Singapore, South Africa and Kenya, in addition to the park’s own African spice-inspired draft beer.

Themed Brews at Disney Resorts

Disney World is known for its immersive storytelling and even the beer is part of the story at Disney resort hotels. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was inspired by the Pacific Northwest and you’ll find several Seattle beers on tap at the Geyser Point bar. Over at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, you’ll find beers from Louisiana on tap such as Abita Amber Ale and Turbodog. And at the New England-inspired Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, you’ll find Samuel Adams Lager, Rebel IPA and other seasonal beers from Massachusetts on tap.

Raglan Road Irish Pub

Step into Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs and you’ll feel like you’ve left Central Florida for Ireland. "I recommend ordering the Raglan Road Signature Collection Beer Flight," said Cha-Kim, "and that includes Miriam’s Irish Coffee Stout, Bloomsday Pale Ale, Tri Wishes Grand Irish Red Ale and Planted Strawberry and Lime Cider."

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Beer

Hidden inside the new Maria and Enzo’s restaurant at Disney Springs, Enzo’s Hideaway features a tunnel bar with a speakeasy vibe. True to theme, you can order a Bourbon barrel-aged stout from brewer Goose Island.

Belgian Lambics at The Edison

One of the best things about Disney is trying new foods or drinks from other countries. At The Edison in Disney Springs, guests will find the famous Belgium-based Cantillon on the menu. The industrial, steampunk speakeasy features a rotating selection of Cantillon lambics such as the apricot-raised Fou’ Foune.

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Food and wine isn’t the only cool festival at Epcot. In the spring, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival features creative bites and sips inspired by the garden. This year’s festival included a sweet and sour Violet Lemonade Ale from Florida brewer Playalinda Brewing Company.

Beer + Sushi at Morimoto

Morimoto at Disney Springs is already known for unique pan-Asian cuisine, but now you can find a unique Asian-inspired beer on the menu. The Sakura Kolsch is dry hopped with cherry blossom tea and pairs nicely with Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s sushi.

Drinking Around the World Showcase at EPCOT in 2024

While we love the attractions in EPCOT , nowadays, most people come here for the vast amount of things to eat and drink. In fact, drinking around the World Showcase has practically become a Walt Disney World sport and a favorite pastime of most adults visiting the park.

Drinking Around the World in EPCOT

Yes, there really is nothing like grabbing a cold beer, a glass of wine, or a refreshing cocktail and strolling around World Showcase Lagoon, all the while soaking in the amazing ambiance of the 11 countries represented in EPCOT.

In this post, we are going to share with you the very best drinks in EPCOT and everything you need to know about Drinking Around the World Showcase. There are so many different drinks, both alcoholic, and also non-alcoholic than everyone in the family can join in on the fun.

I don’t know which one I like to do more in EPCOT, Drinking Around the World or Snacking Around the World . Good thing there is no one making you choose between them, so feel free to do both simultaneously!

Before we get started, we wanted to share some general info about the drinks on our list. The name of this activity is “Drinking Around the World”, so you’ll notice that most of our best EPCOT drinks are located in the World Showcase. We did include some options in the front of the park (World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery), but that’s more of a side note.

Choza de Margarita EPCOT Restaurants

This of course is because World Showcase is the dominant location when it comes to eating and drinking in the park. In fact, most of the must-get drinks are located there, so if you are looking for a drink, head there immediately.

To make things simple, we’ve grouped our drinks by country, so they will be easy to find. In reality, there are at least 4-5 drinks worth getting in almost every country, but we tried to limit the ones on our list to the very best 2-3 in each place.

We’ve also limited our drinks list to the ones that are available all-year-around and not the ones that are unique to the EPCOT Festivals such as Food and Wine or Flower and Garden . The drinks available there are limited and may not be available when you visit so we wanted to make our list drinks that are always available.

Also, don’t forget to sign up for our FREE Weekly E-Mail Newsletter. There we bring you the latest updates in all the parks as well as vacation planning tips. You can sign up here: Join our E-Mail Newsletter!

What Is Drinking Around the World?

Drinking beer around the World Showcase in EPCOT

Drinking Around the World as it’s been popularly known is a common pastime amongst Disney fans, which essentially means having at least one alcoholic beverage in each of the countries around EPCOT’s World Showcase .

While Disney doesn’t personally advertise this, nor do they sell merchandise encouraging it, it’s a pretty commonly accepted experience that is done by many guests daily. It is especially popular among younger Disney guests, and it is highly popular on the weekends and busier times of the year.

To successfully complete the drink around the world challenge it’s expected that you will get some kind of alcoholic beverage, whether it’s wine, beer, or a cocktail around each of the countries around the World Showcase Lagoon.

How Many Drinks Does it Take to Drink Around the World?

Beer in EPCOT

Since there are 11 countries in World Showcase, to do it right, you’ll have at least one drink in each of the countries, so 11 drinks.

It doesn’t really matter ‘which kind’ of alcoholic drink as long it is alcoholic. Trust me, it won’t be easy and many guests have fallen along the way (I meant that figuratively, but we’ve seen it happen the other way too)!

Some guests clearly have a higher tolerance for alcohol and will end up having more than one or they’ll have additional drinks at some of the other pavilions and locations around EPCOT.  We certainly don’t recommend this as 11 drinks in one day is already A LOT!

Which Direction Should I Start?

Drinking frozen martinis in France EPCOT

Now that you know what Drinking Around the World Showcase is, which direction should you start? Honestly, it’s a matter of personal preference and there is no ”right” way to do it.

Remember, EPCOT has two main entrances, they have the front entrance plus they also have the International Gateway Entrance, which has you entering the back of the part already inside the World Showcase Pavilion.

We will assume you are entering the park at the front, which is where the Disney buses drop guests off as well as guests park their vehicles.

When you enter the World Showcase lagoon from the front of the park, you are faced with two decisions:

  • 1. Go right towards Canada
  • 2. Go left towards Mexico.

Much like we brought out in our Snacking Around the World Showcase article , you can’t go wrong with either choice and it really depends on what kind of mood you are in and which drinks are your favorite.

cocktail in UK Pavilion EPCOT

Most blogs and articles will have you starting in Mexico, and you certainly can’t go wrong with that suggestion! But we believe going to the right and starting in Canada is the smarter bet . Why?

First off, Mexico is one of our favorite pavilions in all of EPCOT, plus it has some of our favorite drink options and we feel that by leaving it until the end we save the best for last! Why start at the best and then go downhill from there?!

Also, the Mexico Pavilion tends to be one of the most crowded pavilions in all of World Showcase due to its location and its numerous food and drink options. Lines for drinks in the popular margarita locations can sometimes get LOOOOOOONG.

beer in World Showcase EPCOT

Waiting in Mexico for a cocktail on a 90+ degree weather day is NOT fun. So going at the end of the day or in the evening when the weather has at least cooled down a bit is a much better option imo!

By starting in Canada, you can go at a more relaxed rate and you can end up in Mexico while exiting out of the World Showcase Lagoon as you finish your tasty margarita!

Ok, let’s get these drinks flowing!

Best Drinks in EPCOT

drinking champagne in France EPCOT

Being that we suggested that you start to the right in a counterclockwise rotation around the World Showcase Lagoon, we are going to start with Canada and end in Mexico. In addition to our favorite drinks in these pavilions , we will also give you our favorite things to do and eat in these pavilions.

Sometimes it takes a little while to finish and drink, and if you’re paying Disney’s prices for drinks, you’re better off enjoying them! So take some time to explore and see the many different things in each of these pavilions while you enjoy your drinks around the world.

EPCOT Canada Beer

Our first stop around the world brings us to Canada! Unfortunately, they don’t have a quick-service location, just a snack cart and of course the table-service steakhouse Le Cellier .

While Canada doesn’t have as many drink offerings as some of the other stops along the World Showcase lagoon, they still have a few good options that are worth tasting.

Ottawa Apple

  • Location: Popcorn Cart or Le Cellier
  • Cost: $15.00
  • Rating: 7.5/10

The Ottawa Apple is a mixed drink that has a nice blend of Cranberry Juice, Crown Royal Whiskey, Maple, and Apple Infusion. It’s an easy drinker that isn’t too strong and is a nice walking and drinking cocktail that most can stomach without it being too strong.

La Fin du Monde

Beer in Canada pavilion EPCOT

  • Cost: $10.75
  • Rating: 9.5/10

One of our favorite beers in all of Walt Disney World, we love the La Fin du Monde and the fact that it’s on tap is even better! It tastes like a typical Belgian-style ale, despite the fact that it’s a Canadian Beer.

The fact that it’s 9% ABV makes it even better and it’s a much easier sipper than you’d expect from a 9% beer.

Non-Alcoholic

While they don’t always have it, the Maple Popcorn Shake is a fantastic drink for kids and adults that don’t want an alcoholic drink. They normally have it at one of the EPCOT Festivals, as it tends to be a popular fan favorite.

They normally have one with alcohol and one without, so great for kids and adults alike.

Maple Popcorn EPCOT Snacks

Maple Canadian Popcorn at the Popcorn Stand in Canada – If you at all like the flavors of maple, you’ll love this popcorn. The perfect blend of sweet and salty, the Canada Popcorn will go together perfectly with your cocktail.

Things to Do

Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision – This is a 12-minute film attraction that shows off the beauty of Canada. It’s a good show that was recently redone in 2020, and there is lots of air conditioning.

Performers on the Canada Mill Stage – Canada has different bands performing on the stage in Canada throughout the day. They’ll play authentic Canadian Music, and the bands can be highly entertaining. It’s worth a watch!

beer tour disney world

The 2nd stop on our Drinking Around the World challenge is the U.K. Pavilion. As you would expect, the U.K. Pavilion has a few stand-out spots for guests that want to grab a beer and enjoy the wonderful vibes of this authentic World Showcase Pavilion.

Black and Tan Beer

  • Location: Rose & Crown Pub
  • Cost: $11.25
  • Rating: 7.0/10

There are a number of great pub blends at the Rose & Crown and we feel that you really can’t go wrong with going with the traditional Black and Tan, which is Bass Ale and Guinness Mixed.

We really like the Snake Bite Imperial Pint as well, which is a nice mix of cider and harp beer, it’s an easier sipper for non-beer lovers.

Leaping Leprechaun

drinking Leaping Leprechaun UK pavilion EPCOT

  • Cost: $15.00
  • Rating: 9.0/10

This has turned into one of our favorite drinks in EPCOT, and it’s ideal for people that don’t want beer. It’s an easy sipper and has a mix of Sprite, melon liqueur, rum, whiskey, and vodka.

While it might sound very strong, trust us it’s not. It’s got a good mix of sweet, but the alcohol is definitely present.

The Twinings of London English Breakfast Tea at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop  – A fun authentic English tea that will provide you with a completely different type of drink but equally delicious.

Fish & Chips Yorkshire County Fish Shop

Fish and Chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop – This flaky and oh-so-good fish will practically melt in your mouth. The crunch on the batter is absolutely perfect, and you won’t find any better outside the U.K. Just add some malt vinegar and you’ll be in heaven!

Scotch Egg at Rose & Crown – If you’re going to the table-service restaurant Rose & Crown, we’d absolutely recommend you try the Scotch Egg , for a truly authentic U.K. experience. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is also very popular here among guests that are looking for a yummy dessert.

Interior of Rose & Drown Pub UK Pavilion EPCOT

Watch the Band – We love sitting outside and watching the UK Band (Currently it’s a band called Command Performance), as they play all your favorite British hits from the 1960s through the 1990s. They play underneath the gazebo 4-5 times per week.

Go to Rose & Crown Pub – We enjoy the pub actually more than the actual restaurant. The pub takes walk-ins, so just follow the line, and if there isn’t a line just walk right inside to order.

It’s a truly unique and authentic English bar where you can enjoy a pint and beer with some other guests or talk to some of the terrific Disney Cast Members who work here.

Walk the Grounds and Shop – With beautiful flower beds that make up the gardens and true English architecture all around you, it’s nice just to walk around and enjoy Victorian and Georgian-style castles.

There are also a number of great shops in the U.K. Pavilion that are worth looking through, one of which is a great place to stock up on U.K. candy.

France pavilion champagne

Third on our list is the France Pavilion. The France Pavilion is also home to the back entrance of EPCOT, which is called the ‘International Gateway.’ This makes France a convenient location for guests coming on the Disney Skyliner or from the Disney BoardWalk .

In France, you’ll have a number of terrific options for guests that are looking for drinks to continue their quest of drinking around the world. It’s always a must-stop for us both for the festival drinks and regular ones.

Grand Marnier Orange Slush

Grand Marnier Orange Slush EPCOT

  • Location: Les Vins de Chefs de France
  • Cost: $14.75
  • Rating: 8.5/10

How can you go wrong with a refreshing slushy made up of Grand Marnier, Rum, Grey Goose Orange, and Orange Juice? While it’s a little sweeter and more expensive than what we would like, it’s still so refreshing and tasty! It’s definitely a go-to drink!

Frosé

Frose drink EPCOT

  • Location: Les Halles Boulangerie
  • Cost: $15.75
  • Rating: 8.0/10

Made with a mix of Frozen Côtes de Provence Rosé, Vodka, and Peach, this Frosé is so tasty and will cool you down on a hot day! While it’s a little expensive like the orange slush, it’s still so yummy and we can never say no.

Ice Cream Martini

Ice Cream Martini EPCOT L’Artisan des Glaces

  • Location: L’Artisan des Glaces
  • Cost: $14.95

This combines a cocktail with dessert into one yummy glass! You pick 2 scoops of ice cream of your preference and then choose from a shot of Grand Marnier, Whipped Cream Vodka, or Rum. You can’t go wrong with this, and it’s great for photos.

Chocolat Chaud at Les Halles Boulangerie – This authentic French Hot Chocolate is a sweet and tasty drink for those that want something chocolatey without liquor. It’s great in the winter when evening temperatures get cool.

Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie's pastries, sandwiches, and baguettes served on custom plates and disposable meal box.

Any treat at Les Halles Boulangerie – It’s impossible to pin down a treat at our favorite bakery in all of Disney World. Les Halles, as it’s often called, is an amazing French Bakery that has so many terrific items, it’s really impossible to choose.

We’d recommend trying the Croque Monsieur or the Pain Lard Fromage if you want something savory. If sweet, try the Chocolate Eclair, Napoleon, or Citron Tart.

Croque Glace at L’Artisan des Glaces – This brioche ice cream sandwich is outstanding! A warm pressed brioche with ice cream and your choice of topping, how can it get any better?!

Impressions de France EPCOT

Meet Belle – You’ll find Belle meeting guests at a few different times of the day near Crescent Lake.

Impressions de France – This 18-minute widescreen film plays inside the France Pavilion and showcases the charm and romance of France. Keep in mind, it only plays at certain times of the day (mostly in the evenings).

Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along – Here you’ll sit inside the same cinema that plays Impressions De France but instead you’ll watch songs from the animated film Beauty and the Beast as you sing along.

blue drink Morocco pavilion EPCOT

At our 4th stop on our ‘Drinking Around the World’ tour in EPCOT is Morocco. This one was really a surprise for us. On the surface it might appear as this would be one of places where you likely won’t find very many drinks, but that wasn’t the case at all.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at some of the tasty offerings found here. While it’s not one of our top picks, it’s still a solid place to find a desirable drink! Here are our picks for Morocco:

Moroccan Mule

Moscow Mule in EPCOT

  • Location: Spice Road Table
  • Cost: $16.00

A Moroccan take on the classic mule cocktail, this style one adds a Fig vodka which adds a little bit of a jammy taste to it, which I have to say works!

House-made Sangria

  • Location: Spice Road Table
  • Cost: $14.00

With the choice of red, white, rose, or sparkling wine sangrias, we prefer the red one at Spice Road Table. The one at the Morocco quick-service location is NOT the same, and not nearly as good. They utilize a boxed sangria, so just make sure you get this one inside the restaurant as it’s homemade and tasty!

Frozen Mint Tea – While it normally comes with gin, you can ask for it without. This tasty frozen drink is a wonderfully minty mojito of sorts, and it also cools you down in the Florida sun.

Tangierine Cafe EPCOT

Kebabs at Tangierine Cafe – While the menu fluctuates at the Tangierine Cafe routinely with the different EPCOT festivals, they normally have different types of kebabs. They’re all tasty! We especially like the lamb ones.

Hummus Fries – They sell these both at Spice Road Table and at the EPCOT festivals as they are incredibly popular. If you at all like hummus or fries, you have to try them!

beer tour disney world

Meet Jasmine – The popular princess comes over to the Moroccan Pavilion for a few meet and greets during different times of the day.

Shopping – You’ll truly feel as if you are shopping in a bazaar in the middle of Morocco with the shopping found here. It’s completely different than anywhere else as you’ll see rugs, lamps, and traditional Moroccan attire.

It has a very authentic feel and the architecture here is awesome! It’s fun to check out the different outfits and so different from anything else you’d find in Disney World.

Watch the Belly Dancer – Watch the Moroccan band Atlas Fusion, as they play their music from the stage while the belly dancer engages the crowd.

Violet Sake Japan pavilion EPCOT

Our next country along our stop along the World Showcase Lagoon takes us to Japan. And while Japan might on the surface not seem like a great place to grab drinks, there are a couple of solid options you really should try.

As a whole, Japan is one of the most beautiful and scenic pavilions and one of our personal favorites, so we have no problem spending time here just lingering about. Here are our picks for Japan:

Sake Slushy

Sake Mist Drink EPCOT

  • Location: Kabuki Cafe
  • Cost: $12.00

Located at the Kabuki Cafe, which is an outdoor kiosk in Japan, the Sake Mist is an Alcoholic Shaved Ice that comes in Blood Orange, Coconut Pineapple, or Blackberry. These are refreshing iced drinks that are crowd favorites, although the alcohol is a bit limited.

Violet Sake

Violet Sake Japan pavilion EPCOT

  • Location: Garden House
  • Cost: $9.00

We love the Violet Sake in Japan, and it’s one of the best-priced drinks in the World Showcase. It’s not an overly strong drink, in fact, it tastes almost like a Jolly Rancher candy. We also like it because it’s an easier entry point for first-time sake drinkers.

Ramune Sodas – Inside the Mitsukoshi Department Store, these sodas come in a variety of different flavors including Melon, Strawberry, and Peach. These are true Japanese sodas that you should try if you haven’t before. They are really addictive and are quite tasty!

Kakigori dessert Japan pavilion EPCOT

Kakigori – This classic shaved ice found at the Kabuki Cafe is a wonderful treat for those hot summer days in EPCOT. For $5.50, this shaved ice comes in a variety of different flavors. It’s a true Japanese Classic Snack you must try!

Sushi at Katsura Grill – Get one of the different sushi rolls at the Japanese Quick-Service location Katsura Grill. We love the sushi here, and if you’re going to get something in Japan, it only makes sense to get sushi!

EPCOT Japan Entertainment

Shop at the Mitsukoshi Department Store – Shopping at the Mitsukoshi store in Japan is a truly unique experience. It’s just like walking into a real department store in Japan, and this store has just about everything! From clothing to authentic Japanese snacks to Samurai Swords, it’s all here!

Japanese Taiko Drummers – These incredible drummers generally perform several times a day at the top of one of the buildings in Japan. They are quite hypnotic and don’t want to miss them playing!

American Adventure

drinks in the American Adventure pavilion EPCOT

Ok, so you’ve officially made it to the halfway point! Hopefully, you are taking your time and soaking up all that alcohol with some food!

Now, you’re at the American Pavilion in EPCOT, and the American Pavilion brings it when it comes to drinks. While there are a number of wonderful options, we will pick our couple of favorites.

Moonshine Sour

Moonshine Sour Regal Eagle Smokehouse EPCOT

  • Location: Regal Eagle Smokehouse Outdoor Bar

The Regal Eagle outdoor bar has a number of really tasty drinks, but my favorite is the Moonshine Sour. A tasty mix of Blackberry Moonshine, Blood Orange, Blueberries, and Lemon. It’s the right mix of sweet and sour and perfect with a plate of BBQ.

Beer Flight

Beer American Adventure pavilion EPCOT

  • Location: Block & Hans

The Block & Hans stand in the American Pavilion has a number of good beers on tap. To try several of them, get a flight.

The American Dream dessert EPCOT

The American Dream at Fife & Drum Tavern – Wow, we really love this thing and it’s been a favorite of mine for years! This red, white, and blue drink is made with strawberry Fanta soda, ice cream, and a Fanta blue raspberry slushie and can’t be missed.

Disney World Turkey Leg cost

Loaded Burnt Ends Fries – The Regal Eagle Smokehouse has some great options for food but our favorite is the loaded burnt-end fries. These are a new addition to the menu, and they’re massive! An awesome shareable plate for families.

Jumbo Turkey Leg – There’s something special about having a turkey leg in the American Pavilion in EPCOT (or anywhere in Disney World for that matter). You’ll find it at the Fife & Drum Quick-Service stand and it’s just as huge and savory as always.

outside American Adventure EPCOT

Watch the American Adventure Show – Even though it may seem boring to some, this 29-minute stage show is an enjoyable history lesson narrated by Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain and should absolutely not be missed.

With terrific animatronics and wonderful storytelling, this is a smart way to get out of the Florida sun.

Watch a Stage Show – The main stage here called the America Garden Theatre is home to the Candlelight Processional, the Garden Rocks concerts, and the Eat to the Beat Concerts. Check the schedule to see who is performing when you’re there.

beer tour disney world

Rounding out the 2nd part of the Drinking Around the World tour is the Italian Pavilion. Another fan-favorite, the Italy Pavilion is home to some terrific food and drink options.

We have a number of things we love to get in Italy, here are our favorites:

Italian Margarita

Italian Margarita Italy Pavilion EPCOT

  • Location: Gelateria Toscana

This is one of my all-time favorites! How can you say no to a frozen drink that is made with a combination of Limoncello, Tequila, and Margarita? It’s a really good blend, albeit it’s a bit sour.

If you don’t love citrus and sour-tasting drinks you might not be ready to pucker up with this drink.

Sangria Italy Pavilion EPCOT

  • Location: Via Napoli
  • Cost: $13.00 by the glass, $39 for a pitcher

With your choice of red or white, this homemade sangria is tasty! And for $39 a pitcher, it’s a very fair price considering Disney’s typical prices. A pitcher will get you generally 4-5 glasses.

Affogato Espresso Gelato at La Gelateria Toscana – Located inside the new Gelato stand, this espresso drink is a great mix of ice cream and coffee.

Slice of pizza with prosciutto Via Napoli pizza window

Pizza – The pizza at Via Napoli or at the take-out window (if it’s open) Pizza al Taglio is fantastic! It’s up there with the best pizza in all of Disney World, and it’s absolutely worth getting! They have a number of different specialty pizzas, and they are all great!

Cannoli – Located at the gelato quick-service location Gelateria Toscana, getting a cannoli in Italy is a right of passage! It’s actually pretty good here too!

Gondola in EPCOT's World Showcase

Take a Stroll Along the Piazza – Enjoy the many different replicas of famous Italian architecture such as the St. Mark’s Square, the Venetian Bridge, and the Trevi Fountain to name just a few.

Watch Sergio – The famous Master Juggler Sergio performs throughout the day. You won’t want to miss him, as he’s a great time to watch!

3 glasses of beer Germany EPCOT

Germany is no doubt one of the most popular drinking countries in EPCOT due to its popular beer culture. And despite being a good distance from the front of the park, the German EPCOT Festival Booths and quick-service locations are always amongst the busiest.

With authentic Bavarian architecture and a number of standouts for us, here are our picks in Germany:

Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen

Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen EPCOT

  • Location: Bier Carts, Sommerfest, Biergarten
  • Cost: $11.00

A popular German Grapefruit Beer, while light on the alcohol at only 2% ABV, this grapefruit fruit is tasty and awfully refreshing. While it is found in other areas of Disney World and quite possibly your local liquor store, it’s still good, and getting it on draft and in Disney just tastes better, even if you’re a non-beer lover.

Warsteiner Dunkel

glass of beer in Germany pavilion EPCOT

  • Cost: $12.25

We have to add a true German Beer to the list and we enjoy the Warsteiner Dunkel. We also love the Oktoberfest they sometimes have, but they don’t have it all the time.

The Warsteiner Dunkel is a classic dark German-style pilsner that has hints of chestnuts and mocha in it. It’s rich but good!

German Spezi – Found inside the Biergarten Restaurant, the German Spezi is a tasty concoction made up of Coca-Cola and Fanta Orange Soda that kids will love.

Giant Pretzel Germany EPCOT

Pretzel Bread Pudding – A recent addition to Sommerfest, the German Quick-Service location, we LOVE this sweet treat. At only $4.79, this treat is so tasty but at the same time not overwhelming for guests!

Jumbo Pretzel – If you are looking for an absolute monster snack, get the jumbo pretzel! They have these both at the Bier Stands and at Sommerfest, and they are YUMMY! They are massive and perfectly shareable.

cookie from Karamell-Kuche EPCOT

Go to Karamell-Kuche – While often overlooked due to Les Halles in the France Pavilion, Karamell-Kuche is certainly a must-stop on your way by! It has some really terrific stand-outs especially if you love caramel!

Their Werther’s Popcorn is addicting and you can smell it all the way from the Italy pavilion!

Visit Biergarten Restaurant – We love visiting Biergarten for lunch or dinner, in fact, it’s one of the best dinner shows in Disney World. While the food is good, it’s the fun atmosphere and the performers that are the standouts here.

Enjoy the Oktoberfest Vibes as you enjoy a live Polka Band and some tasty German Brews.

Refreshment Outpost

Mango Starr EPCOT

While technically not a “country”, the Refreshment Outpost is an African-inspired Outpost that is situated between the German and China Pavilions.

They don’t have much here, but they have a quick-service location that has a few different food and drink items. Their foods rotate with the different EPCOT Festivals, and they only have a few staples that don’t rotate.

Mango Starr

  • Location: Refreshment Outpost
  • Cost: $14.25

This African-inspired rum drink is tasty, albeit a bit sweet. You’ll have Rum in addition to the strong mango flavor. It’s a refreshing drink to sip around the World Showcase and we always stop for it on our way by.

Outpost Lemonade

  • Cost: $15.50

This is basically what you’d expect with a vodka lemonade, and that’s exactly what you’ll get. They also have some seasonal beer offerings that rotate with the different EPCOT Festivals that are worth trying.

beer tour disney world

Coca-Cola Frozen Slushy – If you are a big Coca-Cola fan, you must try this. It’s not the most innovative drink in EPCOT, it’s pretty much what you’d expect it to be, but it’s quite refreshing on a hot day around the World Showcase. They also have a lemonade slushy as well if you want to mix it up.

Waffle-Cone Ice Cream – One of the items that is on the menu at all times of the year is just your standard run-of-the-mill ice cream inside a Waffle Cone. While it’s not unique or anything special, it’s nice to have a place to get a standard ice cream cone.

Refreshment Outpost EPCOT

Play the African Drums – Directly left to the Refreshment Outpost, there are a number of African-inspired Trinkets including African Drums. This is a fun thing for kids to do if they want to get a break from the sun or just want to exert some energy.

Glass of Beer China Pavilion EPCOT

Our next stop along our ‘Drinking Around the World’ tour is found in China. While on the surface, you might expect that China doesn’t have much to offer for drinks, I think you might be pleasantly surprised with some of the offerings.

Here are our favorite picks for drinks in China:

Tipsy Ducks in Love

  • Location: Joy of Tea
  • Cost: $13.00

This is a unique coffee alcoholic beverage that has a blend of bourbon, black tea, coffee, cream, and chocolate. While we aren’t the biggest fans of coffee drinks, we know a lot of people that LOVE this one.

It also might give you just the pick-me-up you need after a long day of drinking around the world!

Canto Loopy

drinks in the China Pavilion EPCOT

An easy drinker that is made with vodka and cantaloupe. It is a sweeter drink that isn’t overly boozy, but at only $11 we find it’s a good value and a solid drink option.

Milk Bubble Tea EPCOT China

Milk Bubble Tea at the Joy of Tea Booth – This unique bubble tea drink will provide kids and non-alcohol drinkers with a great way to try a tasty authentic Chinese drink. It’s not my personal favorite, but it is incredibly popular so we couldn’t leave it off the menu.

Egg Rolls China pavilion Epcot Best Snacks at Epcot

Egg Rolls – The Egg Rolls at the Joy of Tea are a nice quick option for guests that enjoy these Chinese trademarks. While they aren’t anything “special”, we love them and they are just what you need for a quick bite.

Mongolian Beef Platter – This combo platter that is found at the China Quick-Service location the Lotus Blossom Cafe is our favorite option on the menu. It’ll give you something a little heartier and be a good lunch or dinner option.

ceiling of Temple of Heaven EPCOT China

Reflections of China – Another 360-degree Circle-Vision film, the Reflections of China is a 14-minute film that will take you around China and show you some of the most popular tourist sights.

Shop at the House of Good Fortune – Similar to the Japan Pavilion, the House of Good Fortune in China is loaded with authentic Chinese items that you’d find in the actual country.

We’ve found a ton of great gift items here as you wouldn’t expect to find these types of things in Disney. And most of them are fairly reasonable too!

Drinking beer in Norway EPCOT

Our 2nd to last country that will have you rounding out your drinks from around the world will take you to Norway. While Norway has a few options, their options certainly aren’t as plentiful as our final stop along our tour.

Here are our favorite picks when visiting Norway:

Frozen Viking Coffee

  • Location: Kringla Bakeri og Kafe

Part coffee and part dessert, the Frozen Viking Coffee mixes frozen coffee with chocolate. It’s more sweet than it is boozy, so don’t be afraid! If you like coffee-based cocktails, you’ll really enjoy this, but it is a bit on the sweeter side.

Nordic Draft Beer

Drinking beer in Norway EPCOT

It’s really nothing special, but this is a solid Norwegian Pilsner that tastes exactly as you’d expect. If you’re going down the beer route, this isn’t a bad way to go in Norway.

Kristoff Kaffe – The same thing as the Viking Coffee except this one does NOT have any liquor in it. And it’s less than half the price at only $6.

School Bread Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe EPCOT Snacks

School Bread – One of the most popular sweet treats in all of EPCOT is the School Bread found here at the Norway Bakery Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. It’s a sweet roll that is filled with custard and coconut.

Some love it and some don’t. We aren’t the biggest fans of it, but it’s certainly worth trying so you can give your judgment!

Lefse – A little bit of a Norwegian churro of sorts, Lefse is a flatbread that is rolled with cinnamon, sugar, and butter. How can you go wrong?!

Frozen Ever After

Frozen Ever After – This ever-popular attraction is based on the movie, and it is one of the most popular attractions in EPCOT. If you have kids you definitely can’t skip it.

Dine With the Princesses – One of the best places to eat with the various different Disney Princesses is found at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall . This signature table-service restaurant is worth visiting if your kids want to dine and eat with the princesses.

row of Margaritas in Mexico Pavilion EPCOT

And finally, we’ve reached our final country, and quite possibly, the best country for drinking and that’s Mexico!

With multiple places to grab liquor and grab food, including both inside and outside, Mexico is a solid place to both start or end your ‘Drinking Around the World’ tour. Or better yet, perhaps start AND end here. (Please don’t do this of course if you’re driving or have already had too much to drink.)

La Cava Avocado

La Cava del Tequila bar EPCOT

  • Location: La Cava del Tequila
  • Cost: $17.00

A true Mexican Tradition and that’s an Avocado Margarita! While it might sound weird, I assure you, it’s pretty terrific! The avocado doesn’t take on a strong flavor profile, although the color is green. It’s a popular and iconic drink in EPCOT that is worth trying!

La Cava also has a ton of other margaritas to choose from that are all incredible, as well as tequila shots which we highly recommend!

Top Shelf Clasica

2 margaritas Mexico pavilion EPCOT

  • Location: Choza de Margarita
  • Cost: $18.00

If you’re looking for a classic margarita on the rocks, it doesn’t get much better than the Top Shelf Clasica. With reposado tequila, Combier orange liqueur, and agave, this is a great margarita that is found at the outside margarita stand, Choza de Margarita.

Again, the options for margaritas here are endless and they are all excellent. Try the Spicy Blackberry Margarita which features a black ant salt rim. I kid you not.

Conga at Choza de Margarita in Mexico – This is a non-alcoholic Mexican fruit punch of sorts that is blended with different juices, including orange, pineapple, and lemon juice.

Margaritas and tacos from Choza de Margarita EPCOT

Empanada de Barbacoa – These empanadas are found at the outdoor quick-service location Choza de Margarita. They are a true hidden gem and combine Barbacoa Beef and a number of fresh Mexican ingredients. They are REALLY good!

Nachos – Whenever I am really hungry in Mexico, I head to La Cantina de San Angel and get an order of the terrific and massive nachos. These are loaded with beef, nacho cheese, beans, tomatoes, jalapenos, and sour cream.

skeletons in Gran Fiesta Tour EPCOT

Go On The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros – Very underrated, one of the true gems of EPCOT is the Gran Fiesta Tour! Join Donald and the other Caballeros as you take a relaxing boat ride around the Mexican Pavilion and around the country of Mexico.

Watch Mariachi Cobre – This 12-piece Mariachi Band plays a number of classic Mexican Melodies. They also perform a special show where they present the story of the animated film Coco several times a day.

World Celebration/World Nature/World Discovery

Cocktail from world celebration EPCOT

Just because the World Showcase is the most popular place to drink in EPCOT, doesn’t mean it’s the only one.

The three locations of World Celebrate, World Nature, and World Discovery are found at the front of EPCOT. They are the OTHER lands of EPCOT and are loaded with rides, attractions, and other places that are worth visiting.

While World Showcase is geographically positioned in the back of EPCOT, these three lands are positioned in the front of EPCOT, and there is still a nice selection of drinks to choose from.

If you want to continue your ‘Drinking Around the World’ tour or if you want to visit some other worthwhile spots, we will cover those here. Here are our favorite drink choices in the lands of World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery:

Mango Mai Tai

  • Location: Connections Eatery

This specialty cocktail can be found at the Connections Eatery, which is a solid quick-service location in EPCOT, found in the World Celebration at EPCOT. This drink is made up of different types of Rum, Orgeat, Mango, Pineapple, and Lime Juice.

Galaxy Spritz

Stargarita Space 220

  • Location: Space 220
  • Rating: 10/10

We love the Galaxy Spritz located at Space 220 , as it’s the perfect type of refreshing drink. It’s not overly bitter as you’d expect from a spritz, and it’s the perfect mix of refreshing and sweet. If you can’t get a reservation for Space 220 , you can head to the lounge and grab a seat at the bar.

Coral ‘Rita

  • Location: Coral Reef Restaurant

Located at the table-service restaurant Coral Reef, the Coral ‘Rita is their signature drink. It’s a margarita that is built with Anejo Tequila and Cointreau. It’s quite tasty and comes with top-shelf ingredients which we prefer for margaritas.

Moon Rocks drink Space 220

Moon Rocks – This zero-proof cocktail is a crowd favorite for the kiddos. It’s found at the table-service restaurant Space 220 and features cotton candy, sprite, pineapple juice, and pop rocks! Talk about a sugar high!

Tastings at Club Cool – Visit Club Cool at World Celebration where you can try Coca-Cola Flavors from around the world. This is completely free and a fun experience for families!

Liege Waffle Connections Eatery EPCOT Snacks

Turtle Brownie – Located at Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, this massive and rich turtle brownie is only $4.99 and completely shareable! It’s very yummy!

Pepperoni Pizza Roll – Also located in Sunshine Seasons, the pepperoni pizza roll is on the kids’ menu, but it’s great for everyone! It’s a hidden gem that will bring you back to your childhood.

Liege Waffle – The Liege Waffle is my newest snack on this list and it is truly outstanding! Found at the Connections Eatery, it often comes in seasonal flavors and different toppings, but we’ve enjoyed every one of them. They are unique and oh-so-good and fluffy.

Bridge over the loading station in Cosmic Rewind

Journey of Water – Visit the new walkthrough attraction that opened in the fall of 2023 and is based on the animated film, Moana. It’s located between Spaceship Earth and the Seas with Nemo & Friends.

Go on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – While there are a number of worthwhile attractions in the front of the park away from World Showcase, our favorite and the newest is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This outstanding indoor roller coaster is so much fun and a real crowd-pleaser.

Managing Your Time

holding a beer in the air Germany pavilion EPCOT

Drinking Around the World in EPCOT is super fun, but it can take a really long time. So when it comes to managing your time, there are a number of things to consider. It’s certainly not a fast process nor should it be rushed.

In this section, we will touch on the important factors when it comes to being efficient with your time.

What Time Should I Start Drinking Around the World?

We’d recommend starting ‘Drinking Around the World’ on the earlier side, preferably when the majority of the World Showcase restaurants and quick-service food locations open at 11:00 am or noon.

This allows you to spread out the drinks over the course of the day, while not feeling overly rushed to finish within a few hours.

Let’s face it, if you start too late, you probably will not be able to get through 11 drinks, even if you are sharing them, or you will be too sloshed to even remember it. Start early and take your time.

How Many Hours Does It Take to Drink Around the World in EPCOT?

Chocolate Martini France EPOCT

While it could take anywhere from a few hours to all day, we’d recommend taking at least 5-6 hours to do it, more if possible. I’d plan for the afternoon and evening to be in the parks.

Spacing out the drinks is clearly the smart play for obvious reasons, and getting to the point of drunkenness or feeling sick is certainly not a fun way to spend a day in EPCOT, and it’s not respectful of other guests.

Plus, if you take several hours and plan on spending most of the day there, you can sprinkle in some shopping while doing some of the attractions along the way while you space out the time between drinks.

Dom Perignon Champagne France EPCOT

An often overlooked aspect of ‘Drinking Around the World’ in EPCOT is the financial cost. Here’s a hint, it isn’t cheap. If you plan on Drinking Around the World you really need to make sure it’s in your budget.

Spending too much money can happen easily in World Showcase, especially when one gets drinks at every EPCOT World Showcase Country. You may start shopping and buying more than you really should. This can be even more expensive when you have a spouse to pay for as well!

In this section, we will focus on the ‘cost’ when it comes to embarking on this journey around the world!

How Much Does it Cost to Drink Around the World in EPCOT?

While the cost can fluctuate depending on whether you share drinks and what type of drinks you get. If you’re drinking mostly beer, it’ll be on the cheaper end of the spectrum. If you’re getting mostly cocktails, it will be on the higher end of the price range.

Alcoholic Beverages in EPCOT typically range between $10-$20 . If we multiply that by 11, for the 11 World Showcase Countries, you’ll have a range of $110 – $220 .

As you can see, this can be an expensive day especially when you have to pay for 2 people!

How to Budget throughout the Day

holding a margarita in Mexico EPCOT

If you’d like to save some money, consider sharing drinks or getting more budget-friendly drinks such as wine and beer. It’s best to budget on the higher end of things to account for possible food that you’d like to purchase WITH the drinks.

It’s awfully hard not to get anything to eat when you’re ordering drinks at all of these locations, with most of them offering different tasty items as well.

Spending less is always a priority for us, so check out my Guide Doing Disney World on a Budget for more tips that will help you save money.

Drinking at the EPCOT Festivals

La Passion Martini EPCOT

While we focused throughout this post on the best drinks that are served all year long at EPCOT, there are even more that we left out!

It’s important that there are (4) Festivals that run from January – December every year now in EPCOT an at each of these Festivals, there are additional food kiosks where you can get a number of different food and drink offerings.

Drinking Around the World becomes an even easier task when you have the additional options of the EPCOT Festivals.

The 4 yearly EPCOT Festivals are:

  • EPCOT Festival of the Arts (January – February)
  • EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival (March – July)
  • EPCOT Food and Wine Festival (July – November)
  • EPCOT Festival of the Holidays (November – December)

Frozen desert Violet Lemonade Pineapple Promenade

Here are a few of our favorite drinks during each of the festivals. While the menus can sometimes change, these drinks tend to be around year after year. Next to each of the drinks is the location in which you can find these drinks during these particular festivals.

  • Frozen French Martini – France Kiosk
  • Blue Raspberry Blonde Beer – Refreshment Outpost
  • Maple Popcorn Shake with Rye Whisky – Canada Kiosk
  • Rose Frozen Slush – France Kiosk
  • Pomegranate Mimosa – Tangierine Cafe in Morocco
  • Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade – Pineapple Promenade (Ask for Alcoholic Version)
  • La Passion Martini Slush – France Kiosk
  • Fiery Dream – China Kiosk
  • Sweet Brine featuring Jim Beam Bourbon – Flavors From Fire
  • Strawberry Rose Mimosa – France Kiosk
  • AULANI Sunrise – Hawaii Kiosk
  • Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini – France Kiosk
  • Hot Cocoa with Peanut Butter Whiskey – Chestnuts & Good Kiosk
  • Beer Flights – Holidays Sweets & Treats

Drinking in EPCOT for Kids

Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt EPCOT

While ‘Drinking Around the World’ can seem like an adult-only activity, some parents do choose to bring their kids with them while they embark on this fun boozy tour! And while that might seem crazy, there are things you can do to keep your kids busy, and things without alcohol they can drink.

The EPCOT Festivals generally have a number of fun ‘mocktails’ for kids to enjoy, including some unique shakes and smoothies that they’ll no-doubt love!

In addition to the non-alcoholic drinks that kids can enjoy, there are also Festival Scavenger Hunts, such as the Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt that they are running during the Food and Wine Festival.

Another popular thing for kids to enjoy are the Kidcot Fun Stops. These fun craft stations can be found at each of the World Showcase Pavilions. They can draw, color, and collect stamps for each of the countries. This will help keep your children engaged while you ‘Drink Around the World.’

Club Cool Soda Machine

And if you are in the front of the park, make sure to stop by Club Cool where your kids can do a challenge of their own, trying different flavors of soda from around the world.

Between the tasty drink offerings, the various different scavenger hunts, and the attractions along the way, kids will have more than enough to do!

wine and cocktails on the table at Tutto Gusto Italy EPCOT

In this section, we will review our favorite last-minute tips for you to completely maximize your time around the World Showcase Lagoon. Following these tips will allow you to have the best possible time while you drink your way around the 11 Countries of the World!

Take Your Time/Stay All Day

The longer you stay in EPCOT the better. Trying to do this fast will not only result in you likely getting sick, but it will also just not be as enjoyable. Part of the experience is taking your time and strolling through the different countries’ pavilions.

By enjoying each of your drinks and relaxing at the same time, you’ll set yourself up for the highest amount of fun and relaxation!

Eat Lots of Food

Nachos at La Cantina de San Angel EPCOT

If you’re going to take on this monumental task of getting 11 different drinks, it’s imperative that you get food. A lot of booze on an empty stomach coupled with the hot Florida Sun is a recipe for MISERY. As long as you’re continuing to drink it’s important to put some sustenance into your body as well.

To help you get through the day, we recommend reading our EPCOT dining guides:

  • Snacking Around the World in EPCOT
  • Best EPCOT Restaurants
  • Best EPCOT Quick Service Restaurants

Stay Hydrated

Even more important than getting food is getting enough water! We try to follow the 1/1 ratio when it comes to drinking alcohol. For every alcoholic beverage, make sure you drink at least 1 glass of water.

This is simple to do by simply just asking the different quick-service locations for a glass of water. Or if you’re getting a cocktail or a beer somewhere, just ask for a cup of water too. This kills two birds with one stone!

Split Drinks

Matt Disney Cast Member dressed up as Mickey Mouse holding beers in his hands at EPCOT

For low-tolerance alcoholic drinkers and many women, 1 or 2 drinks can be enough to put them over the top. If you’re amongst those types, I fully recommend you split drinks.

This allows you to “Drink Around the World” at a much safer and more tolerable level without feeling the consequences of sickness, not to mention the cost!

Go with Your FUN Friends

Drinking Around the World Showcase in EPCOT with your friends

Enjoying a drink around the world isn’t something that you want to do with just ANYONE. It’s a fun and unique experience that requires you to pick people that you know you’ll have a good time with.

You’ll want your “Drinking Crew” to be relaxed and lighthearted while not taking themselves too seriously.

Not only just that, but it can also be rather expensive. If some of your friends are penny-pinchers and they’re going to complain about every $14 drink, they might not be the person you want to bring with you on your Drinking Around the World tour.

Linger in the Pavilions

Germany Pavilion at night in EPCOT

One of our favorite things in EPCOT are all the different pavilions in each country. They are all so unique, intricate, and jam-packed with details and storytelling.

Don’t just simply grab your drink and then quickly move on. That’s completely losing the essence of the experience. Immerse yourself in the culture of each land while lingering through the different pavilions. Shop, grab a snack, and just take in the many different sounds and sights of each pavilion.

Please Drink Responsibly

glass of champagne in France at EPCOT

And finally, this goes without saying but “DRINK RESPONSIBLY!” There’s a reason Disney does not encourage Drinking Around the World or sell merchandise relating to it. It can have terrible connotations and let’s be honest, some Disney World Guests do not always put themselves in a positive light after drinking too much.

Disney World, including EPCOT, is a family-friendly place unlike anywhere else on Earth. Having adults stumble and drunk walking around EPCOT and making complete fools of themselves while making parents feel uncomfortable with their small kids is anything but magical.

So please don’t ruin it for families that are taking their kids on a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Be responsible and if you’ve had too much to drink, be accountable for it.

Take some time, go on a few rides, or find a place to sit and relax for a while. If you can’t finish the Drinking Around the World challenge and fill your 11-country quota, it’s OK I promise you.

This is why I recommend that you should strongly consider sharing drinks and space them out considerably throughout the day.

It absolutely should NOT be a quick “get drunk stroll” and then leave. It can and should be done in a way that’s both fun and responsible.

Can You Walk Around EPCOT with Alcohol?

drinking margaritas in EPCOT

Yes! EPCOT is a drinking park that allows you to walk around with alcohol. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom you can also walk around with drinks like in EPCOT.

Only Disney’s Magic Kingdom does NOT allow you to walk around with alcohol and you are limited to table service restaurants if looking for alcohol.

READ: Drinking Alcohol at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Can You Split Drinks in EPCOT?

Of course! Splitting drinks in EPCOT is generally a smart, responsible, and budget-friendly way for you to finish your Drinking Around the World challenge. Honestly, we recommend it so you don’t get too tipsy, and you’ll save money if doing it with a friend.

Can You Bring Your Own Drinks into EPCOT?

You cannot bring alcoholic beverages into any Disney World Park, including EPCOT. However, you can bring nonalcoholic beverages to the parks, such as water or juice.

What Other Disney World Parks Can You Drink At?

wine flight Cinderella's Royal Table

You can drink at every Disney World Park now! While you can’t walk around and drink at Magic Kingdom , you can still drink inside table-service restaurants.

Can You Use Disney Dining Plan Credits for Alcohol?

While you can’t use Disney Dining Plan Credits JUST for alcohol, the Disney Dining Plan does allow you to substitute an alcoholic beverage for a nonalcoholic beverage during Quick-Service or Table-Service Meals.

Best Resorts for Drinking in EPCOT

Disney World Boardwalk at sunset

When drinking in EPCOT, it’s always best to stay close, if at all possible. You won’t have to worry about driving nor will you have to worry about taking a long bus ride or a long walk back to your Disney World Resort once you arrive at your resort.

If you can be at one of the EPCOT Resorts , it can make things extremely easy and SAFE. If you’re staying right on the Disney BoardWalk , which is within walking distance of EPCOT, even better!

The Disney BoardWalk Resorts within walking distance of EPCOT are:

  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort

These are the best options, but all of the Walt Disney World Resorts are good options, as you’ll just be a short bus ride away from the other options. It’s much better than having to take outside transportation, especially if you’re drinking.

Ziggy Knows Disney close

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.

Drinking around the world showcase: a guide.

Posted by: Angela Spece December 4, 2013

beer tour disney world

For many adults visiting Walt Disney World, a trip is just not complete without a day dedicated solely to drinking around the World Showcase at EPCOT.  For those of you who might not know what this means exactly, “Drinking Around the World,” as it is more commonly known, is where adults sample at least one alcoholic beverage from each country represented in the World Showcase area of EPCOT in one, usually, day-long visit to the World Showcase.  As there are 11 countries represented in the World Showcase, Drinking Around the World is not for the faint of heart.  However, if you pace yourself, and enjoy all beverage and entertainment offerings of the pavilions, then you will surely set yourself up for a most enjoyable day in one of the most beautiful theme parks in the world.

Please join me as I take you country by country on an “adults-only” tour of EPCOT’s World Showcase.

Since I love the frozen margarita stand located in the Mexico pavilion, my husband and I usually start our tour here.  Visit the kiosk and order a Fiesta margarita, which is a frozen concoction worthy of a Jimmy Buffet song.  The tall glass comes rimmed with salt and is filled in thirds with lime, strawberry and mango margaritas.  This refreshing drink will go down quick, and is a great way to start your tour.

However, if you are feeling extra adventurous, head into the Mexico pavilion for a bonus drink on your tour at the ever popular La Cava del Tequila .  This tequila bar has gained a cult following in the few years it has been open, and rightfully so!  Here, start your tour off extra saucy, by sharing a tequila flight or two with your group.  Take a moment here to linger at the bar, and you might get some complimentary chips and salsa to provide you sustenance as you head to your next stop: Norway.

The next pavilion on our tour takes us to chilly Norway.  Bundle up and purchase a Carlsberg Beer from the drink cart at the front of the pavilion.  This light-bodied Danish pilsner is a unique beer that is sure to be a favorite of even the pickiest beer drinkers.  It goes down smooth.  Once you finish your beer, head to China.

The China pavilion offers many choices in both drinks and attraction options.  Upon arrival, head to the Joy of Tea stand located along the World Showcase Lagoon.  In China, it’s time to finally enjoy a genuine cocktail.  Joy of Tea doesn’t disappoint with the Peach Snap! (peach schnapps and orange juice) or the Canto Loopy (vodka and cantaloupe juice).  However, if you’re looking to really kick you tour up a notch, then you must go with the Tipsy Ducks in Love.  While it may look like a Frappuccino to the unknowing eye, the Tipsy Ducks in Love hides quite a hearty serving of bourbon in what is otherwise an iced coffee with whipped cream on top.

Once you’re feeling tipsy, and maybe in love as this is your third or fourth drink, cool off while watching “Reflections of China,” the pavilion’s 360 degree movie exploring all the cultural sites of China.  Also, be sure to watch the Dragon Legends Acrobatic show.  These students of agility are amazing to watch.  However, keep mindful of the time, because it is soon time to head back to mainland Europe for one of the more popular pavilions in the World Showcase: Germany.

REFRESHMENT PORT

Editor’s Note: Technically the Refreshment Outpost is the next stop while walking around the World Showcase, but it is generally skipped when “Drinking Around the World.”  Originally, this area was imagined to be a pavilion celebrating all of the wonders of Africa; however, that never came to pass.  As such, since this isn’t a pavilion celebrating a country, nor does the outpost sell a beer that isn’t American, it is safe to skip the outpost.

My husband and I always visit the Germany pavilion, regardless of whether we’re doing a Drink Around the World tour, to grab one of our favorite beers – the Radeberger Pilsner.  This beer is a little hard to find though, as it is located within the pavilion building.  Head into the pavilion and turn to your right, here you will find the Bier Stand where the Radeberger is located.  The Radeberger is a nice, light pilsner.  The carbonation gives the beer a refreshing quality that is welcomed in the Florida heat, but it is an all-around tasty beer that is enjoyable no matter the temperature.

On the other hand, a more unique beer to try in the Germany pavilion is the Hovel.  This dark, amber ale is somewhat bitter due to the prevalent yeast and hop notes that come through the ale.  The caramel taste of the beer goes great with one of the treats from the Karamell-Kuche bakery.  The bakery should be a snack stop, or go traditional with a soft pretzel, before you head south to: Italy.

When in Rome, do as the Romans – so it’s time to drink some wine!  Head into the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar for some respite from the Florida heat and for a large selection of Italian wines, beers and cocktails.  As Italy is about the halfway point for your tour, Tutto Gusto is a great place to sit and sip awhile as you take a break and rally for the second half of your tour.  Here, choose one of the wine flights and share amongst your group.  Some flights offer six selections, while others offer three pours.  Wine flights are a great way to really taste the wines of the country, and if you are particularly fond of one of them, be sure to purchase a glass for yourself or even a bottle to take home!

One of the cocktails I suggest is the Italian Sangria.  This refreshing blend of sweet red table wine and fruit is one of my favorite drinks.  While it is not a drink unusual to only EPCOT, sometimes it is nice to drink something familiar.  Another suggestion would be either a Rossini or a Bellini.  These champagne cocktails are mixed with raspberry or peach puree, respectively.

The beer of choice for many Drinking Around the World is the Birra Moretti.  This Italian lager is light bodied, crisp, and refreshing.  This beer is a little sweet, which I like, and it goes down smooth.  You’ll definitely drink this beer fast without knowing it – so be careful!

Finally, you could head into the Enoteca, which is the wine store on the right of the pavilion nearest to the World Showcase Lagoon, and take your Drinking Around the World tour up a notch by purchasing the World Showcase Wine Walk passport.  This passport will give you two 2-oz pours of wine in the Germany, Italy and France pavilions. However, don’t linger long at the tasting counter, because it’s time to head home to the United States.

UNITED STATES

Sam Adams is the beer offered in the American Adventure pavilion.  However, what beer is available to your during your tour will depend on the time of year you are visiting EPCOT.  This is because the Fife and Drum Tavern, located to the front, left of the pavilion, serves Sam Adams Seasonal Ale.  Your choices will then be Alpine Spring, Summer Ale, Octoberfest, or Winter Lager. Each beer has a typical Sam Adams taste, while being tweaked just enough to offer a slight variation and nod to the time of year depending on the available selection.  For example, Summer Ale is light bodied and offers a hint of lemon.  While, on the other hand, the Winter Lager is a darker beer that tastes of cinnamon, toffee and spices, which gives you the feeling that you should enjoy this beer next to a fire while it is snowing outside.

If beer isn’t your choice, then be sure to imbibe in the delicious Frozen Red Stag Lemonade.  This refreshing, blended drink mixes cherry bourbon and lemonade for a cocktail that is sure to cool you off in the Florida sun.  Be sure to take in some of the patriotic entertainment, such as the Fife and Drum Corps, before heading back to the south pacific: Japan.

This is about the time during your tour that you start to feel the effects of six or seven alcoholic drinks.  At this point, some folks decide to throw in the towel and promise to finish another today.  However, when you continue, be it now or on another day, you will be highly awarded by the sake and the sake cocktails in the Japan pavilion.  These cocktails, as well as a wide selection of sake, are located at the Sake Bar located in the of the pavilion courtyard.  Once at the bar, skip the Tokyo Sunset (it doesn’t include sake!) and, instead, select one of the sake cocktails. These cocktails consist of sake, which is a fermented rice wine, poured over ice and mixed with one of several flavors.  I suggest mixing your sake with green tea for a more traditional cocktail.

For those of you who aren’t feeling adventurous enough to try sake, which is delicious by the way so you should, the Japanese beers offered are all very similar.  However, my husband and I prefer the Kirin Ichiban, which is a light bodied beer, over the Sapporo, which is a slightly darker lager.  On the other hand, you could always skip the beer and have a sake bomb, warm sake, before hopping continents to: Morocco.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much by way of choice in the Morocco pavilion for your drink.  With that being said, I suggest you grab a Casa Beer, which is a light, bubbly beer.  Enjoy the beer while you take in the amazing architecture and regain your composure for the next stop and home to the Tour D’Eiffel: France.

The France pavilion is home to one of the best drinks in all of EPCOT: the Grey Goose Slush.  There are two versions of this frozen delight: lemon or orange.  The lemonade slush is mixed with Grey Goose Citron (lemon flavored vodka), whereas the orange packs a double punch of Grey Goose orange and Grand Marnier.

If another frozen drink isn’t what you’re looking for, then you must try the Kronenbourg 1664.  This beer is one of my husband and I’s favorite, and is usually one of the first drinks we get upon arriving at EPCOT.  This light beer is fruity and sparkling.  The sweet ending to the beer makes it a refreshing stop on your tour.  A final selection in France could be a sip of sweet champagne before it is time to catch the Chunnel and head northwest to France’s allies of the Great War: The United Kingdom.

UNITED KINGDOM

Home to the Rose and Crown Pub, the United Kingdom pavilion is a beer lover’s paradise.  I usually go with a Bass when I’m in the Rose and Crown, which is a bitter, light-bodied beer.  My husband tends to frequently get a Stella Artois, but will sometimes grab a Harp instead.  Both beers are light ales that allow you to taste a hearty, English beer without feeling to full.  If you are feeling adventurous, be sure to try one of the Rose and Crown’s mixed pints, which is a mixture of two different beers or ciders in one pint.  I prefer the Golden Pub Blend, which is half Stella Artois and half Bass.  You could also go with the traditional Black and Tan – half Bass Ale and half Guinness, because no trip to the United Kingdom is complete without having a pint of Guinness.

For those of you averse to hearty English brews, the Rose and Crown does not disappoint with a large selection of cocktails and a full bar of scotches from which to choose.  While I cannot begin to tell you which scotch is best, but, let’s be honest, if you came this far on your Drinking Around the World, would you be able to tell, but I can suggest to you the Leaping Leprechaun.  This drink will surely make you leap like you’ve found a pot of gold, especially with its hefty shot of Jameson Irish whiskey, one of my favorites.

Once you’ve finished up at the Rose and Crown, it’s time for one last flight across “the pond” to the large, mountainous country at the top of the North American continent: Canada.

Last, but certainly not least, the Canada pavilion offers up many wonderful selections to round out your tour around the world.  For your dedication you will be highly rewarded with a Moosehead Lager or a Moosehead Lager Light.  This beer is a refreshing and light lager that provides a nice hoppiness to the table.  As it is not too strong or heavy, the Moosehead Lager is a perfect end to your Drinking Around the World tour.  If you time your tour just right, you are likely to be enjoying this beer while watching Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.

FINAL WORDS OF ADVICE

So there, now that you’ve read this post you are armed and ready to attempt your own drinking tour of EPCOT’s World Showcase.  However, before you head out, let me leave you with a few parting words of advice:

  • Be sure to drink plenty of water while Drinking Around the World.  I’m talking at least one bottle of water every two drinks with maybe a drink or two in between.  Alcohol dries you out, and this is especially so in the Florida heat and sun.
  • Share drinks with a friend (or a stranger if you’re feeling friendly) if you are looking for the experience of Drinking Around the World, but not the hangover that might come with it.
  • Start your tour with some lunch or something of sustenance so as to not be drinking on an empty stomach.  Also, grab snacks every couple of pavilions, or grab some yummy Via Napoli pizza in the Italy pavilion, to keep your energy up and to have something to sop up all that alcohol!
  • Enjoy the sites and entertainment offered in each pavilion as you make your way around the World Showcase.  This will allow you to really enjoy all that the World Showcase has to offer, while encouraging you to sip, not gulp, your alcohol.  This will hopefully allow you to travel further on your tour without you having to wave the white flag.
  • If you feel like you’ve had just about one too many: STOP.  There’s nothing embarrassing about not finishing the tour, but there is maybe something to be embarrassed about if you get sick or have to be asked to leave EPCOT.  You can always split your tour into two or three days and still have the same experience.  The main theme is to remember to drink responsibly!  That should be your mantra!
  • Lastly, don’t drive if you have been drinking at all.  Period.  You can ruin your life and the lives of others in a split second.

Cheers and good luck!

Drinking and snacking around the world at epcot: what you need to know.

Florida's Theme Parks in 60 Seconds

Make your way around the world showcase while stopping for drinks and snacks in each country.  .

By Stephen Kubiak

Think Walt Disney World is just kiddie rides and princesses? Think again. Epcot is home to the World Showcase, which consists of 11 pavilions representing countries from around the world, including Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Morocco, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway and Mexico. At each pavilion, you can find attractions , dining, drinking  and shopping relating to the country.

“Drinking Around The World” is the process of making your way around World Showcase while stopping for drinks and snacks in each country. We took a trip “around the world” with members of the  Bay Lake Society , a group dedicated to enjoying the moment and exploring Walt Disney World at a more leisurely pace, and came up with some tips. Here’s your ultimate guide to snacking and drinking around the world at Epcot.

Moosehead is one of the beers available in Canada

Drink:   From the Popcorn Cart in Canada, you can find a wide range of Canadian beers like Labatt Blue, Moosehead, La Fin Du Monde and St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and Apricot Wheat.

Eat:  While Canada doesn’t have a quick service restaurant, you can head over to the Refreshment Port next door and pick up a croissant doughnut dusted in cinnamon sugar.

Insider Tip:  If you decide to take a break and are looking for a great sit-down meal,  Le Cellier Steakhouse  is an excellent choice, but be sure to make reservations well in advance. If you go, order the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup or Poutine. Also, stick around for the Canadian Lumberjacks show on the stage between Canada and the UK.

United Kingdom

Drink:  The  Rose & Crown Pub  is full-service bar designed in the spirit of a local English pub. Best of all, the pub is air-conditioned. It’s a fantastic spot to grab a specialty cocktail, like the Welsh Dragon, or a UK beer. For beer lovers, try one of the pub blends like a Black-and-Tan. For a to-go drink, check out the UK Beer Cart next to the Rose & Crown Pub that features regional beers like Bass Ale, Innis & Gunn, and Newcastle.

Eat:  Head over to Yorkshire County Fish Shop for fresh fish and chips. The seating area next to the fish shop offers a great view of the World Showcase Lagoon.

Insider Tip:  Looking for live entertainment? Find it tucked away behind the UK shops. The British Revolution band plays sets throughout the day.

Sparkling wine from Les Vins de France

france-epcot-ice-cream-martini.jpg.640.340.imagerendition

Ice Cream Martini from L’Artisan des Glaces

Drink:  France has a lot to offer in the way of libations. You’ll find an Ice Cream Martini from  L’Artisan des Glaces  that’s 2 scoops of ice cream with a shot of Grand Marnier, whipped cream vodka or rum. For beer lovers, France offers Kronenbourg 1664. If you enjoy wine, Les Vins de France does pours of french wines and champaigns. The Les Vins des Chefs de France kiosk also sells the popular Grand Marnier and Grey Goose Orange Slush and Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush, which are perfect on a hot day.

Eat:  Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie offers traditional French bakery fare with a twist like the Dinde B.L.T., with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and garlic aioli, and Jambon Beurre, with ham, cheese and Dijon mustard butter on a demi baguette. You can also grab a crepe at the Crepes des Chefs de France kiosk, which serves chocolate, strawberry preserve, sugar or ice cream crepes.

Insider Tip:  “France is by far my favorite country. The level of detail, beauty and culture verge on breathtaking. Of course, I've always had a soft spot for French culture and it is represented quite well in the pavilion. There are multiple walkways that allow guests to find little nooks to escape into. The scents are captivating, the food is decadent and artful,” said Dani Dennison-Perez.

“The bakery and ice cream shop in France are top-notch. They also have the best specialty drinks,” said Jason Schuck. “My favorite drink is the Grand Marnier slushee.”

“My favorite snack in all of World Showcase is a Croque Glace from L’Artisan des Glaces in France. Basically, they take a scoop of ice cream put it between two pieces of brioche, top it with a sauce of your choosing and seal it,” said Scott Sanders.

You can enjoy a selection of Mediterranean beers in Morocco

Drink:  The bar at  Spice Road Table  is a great place to sample some Moroccan and Mediterranean beers like Casa, Efes and Mythos. The full-service bar also offers signature cocktails, wine flights and aperitifs. Try a Moroccarita, which is vodka, lemon, lime juice and triple sec.

Eat:  For a quick bite with Moroccan flavors, head over to the Tangierine Cafe for a Mediterranean Chicken, Falafel or Lamb Wrap.

Insider Tip:  “Morocco is often overlooked but it’s the most detailed of the pavilions with winding paths and intriguing courtyards. The cast members here are often the friendliest of any on Disney property,” said Dani Dennison-Perez.

“The bar at Spice Road Table, along World Showcase lagoon in the Morocco pavilion, has no seating and it’s basically just the lobby area of the restaurant, but they have a full bar and can make nearly any drink your heart desires,” said Dani Dennison-Perez.

“The new bar in Morocco is my favorite and is a hidden gem,” said Jason Schuck.

The Kirin Frozen can be found at the Japan pavilion in Epcot

japan-epcot-sake.jpg.640.340.imagerendition

The Sake Bar in Japan has several sake selections to choose from

Drink:  In the back of the Mitsukoshi Department Store, you’ll find the Sake Bar where you can find a large variety of Japanese spirits like Ginga Kogen Beer, Hana Awaka sparkling sake, Yuzu Umeshu Kishu plum wine and a wide selection of hot and cold sakes. At the  Kabuki Cafe , beer aficionados will find Kirin, Asahi and Sapporo, as well as  Kirin Frozen , which is a Kirin Draft topped with an icy foam, also made from Kirin, that helps insulate and keep the beer cold.

Eat:  Katsura Grill is perfect for a quick bit and has Japanese favorites like sushi, udon and teriyaki.

Insider Tip:  “Japan has a sake bar in the back corner of the sprawling Mitsukoshi department store that many people overlook. It’s a semi-hidden gem that offers some of the most unique sake options,” said Dani Dennison-Perez. “The sake bar in Japan has a nice selection and even has really good beer at times. Outside Japan, the frozen beer is worth trying once on a hot day just for the novelty factor,” said Jason Schuck.

Rose Regale from La Bottega Italiana in Italy

Drink:  Grab some Italian beer, wine or frizzante (champagne) at La Bottega Italiana or venture deeper into the Italy pavilion and head over to  Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar  for some Italian Sangria, specialty cocktails and small plates.

Eat:  Drop by the Gelati kiosk for a Gelato Sandwich, gelato sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies, or a more classic Italian treat like a Cannoli.

Insider Tip: “In Italy, if you get the Rose Regale (and you should), pair it with a piece of dark chocolate, just $.50, from the little shop right behind the wine bar. The combination enhances both flavors,” said Jason Schuck.

Drink:  At the Weinkeller store, you can sample different German wines and beers. You can also purchase bottles to take home with you. The beer cart also offers a wide selection of German beers like Warsteiner Dunkel and Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen.

Eat:  Go for a bratwurst or an authentic hand-twisted pretzel at  Sommerfest .

“On the savory side, the mac and cheese in Germany (Nudel Gratin) is a huge, delicious portion for a very reasonable price,” said Jason Schuck.

Insider Tip:  “Germany is my second favorite country because it recreates a warm, inviting storybook town square. This pavilion definitely becomes my favorite during the holiday season. Most of our American holiday traditions originated in Germany and the pavilion comes alive with an Old World festive spirit during the winter holidays,” said Dani Dennison-Perez.

Insider Tip:  Save some time to explore the House of Good Fortune store tucked in the back of the China pavilion.

Drink:  For beer, you’ll find Einstök Icelandic White Ale and Carlsberg on draft at the beer cart in Norway. For those brave enough, you can also get shot of Linie Aquavit.

“Linie Aquavit is similar to vodka, with a strong taste of spice and herbs. It had a little bite to it, but definitely a unique flavor,” said Dani Dennison-Perez.

Eat:  Try the School Bread, a sweet cardamom bun filled with vanilla crème custard and topped with glazed and toasted coconut, or one of the many sandwiches offered at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.

Insider Tip:  “I’m a fan of the Norwegian School Bread. It has just the right level of sweetness,” said Jason Schuck.

A Mango Margarita from the Margarita Kiosk in Mexico

Drink:   Choza de Margarita in Mexico offers a wide range of margaritas, like the Patron Lime Margarita, Milagro Pomegranate Margarita and frozen margaritas with lime, strawberry and mango flavors. At  La Cantina de San Angel  you can find more margaritas, like the Patrón Cranberry Margarita on the Rocks, and Mexican beers Dos Equis Lager and Modelo Especial on draft. While drinking around the world at Epcot, be sure to check out La Cava del Tequila located inside the Mexico pavilion for great cocktails, beer, wine and over 200 different tequilas.

Eat:  For a quick bite, check out La Cantina de San Angel for tacos, nachos and empanadas. Don’t forget to order some churros for dessert.

Insider Tips:  “Mexico hosts my favorite bar in Epcot: La Cava de Tequila. The cast members here are extremely passionate about tequila - they are truly experts.” - Dani Dennison.

“If you’re a Starbucks junkie, you must try the coffee/mezcal margarita at La Cava,” said Jason Schuck. “Also, don't be afraid of the jalapeno margarita at La Cava. They take the seeds out so you get the amazing flavor without the heat.”

“My favorite place for drinks in World Showcase is La Cava del Tequila. First and foremost the venue is inside, providing a nice reprieve from the Florida sun following a trip around World Showcase or an escape from the afternoon thunderstorms. They serve up a variety of margaritas and have a wide selection of tequila. My favorite drink at Cava is the blood orange margarita. The icing on the cake to any trip to Cava are the the chips, queso and guacamole,” said Scott Sanders.

7 Best Places for Beer in Walt Disney World

by Addicted to the Mouse | Mar 20, 2017 | Disney Blog | 4 comments

beer tour disney world

Gentlemen, let’s face it.  For those of us that enjoy the occasional relaxing brew while on vacation, there is nothing more important than to know the best places to grab a beer in Walt Disney World.  Sure, it’s the most magical place on earth, but it can also be a stressful place.  From the amount of money you’re spending to put those smiles on your kids’ faces to the congestion of thousands of other families trying to push their way through crowded parks, a nice beer can really help you to just enjoy the moment.

Beer in Walt Disney World is not a new thing, but getting a good beer can be range from easy to very tricky – depending on where you are.  I consider myself a novice beer connoisseur.  We make our own craft beer at home, keep six corny kegs on tap, and have a beer fridge full of commercial craft beers.  That said, I’ve narrowed down this list based on my tastes (with some input from Leslie…yes, she enjoys beer almost as much as I do) which lean more toward the hoppier, craft beer flavors.  So, let’s get down to it based on location.  The first four best places for beer are found in each of the four major theme parks.  Number five is found at Disney Springs.  Finally, number six and seven reside in Disney resorts.

Disney Parks:

beer tour disney world

  • Animal Kingdom – You can find regular beer in Walt Disney World in many places, but if you’re craving something a little different, look no further than the Dawa Bar in Africa (a land inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom).  My basic go-to beer in the Animal Kingdom is the Safari Amber.  This amber has a little more body than the customary national lagers and can be ordered at almost any beer stand in the park.  However, when I’m craving something better, I head over to the Dawa Bar and grab either a Sweetwater IPA or a Victory Golden Monkey.  Both offer a great reprieve from the ordinary park beer.

beer tour disney world

  • Magic Kingdom – The hardest place to find beer in Walt Disney World is inside the Magic Kingdom.  This is because it’s a relatively new thing to even be allowed inside, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible!  There is one catch.  You have to get beer from table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom.  That being said, the best place is Be Our Guest Restaurant in Fantasyland .  My suggestion is to go with the Chimay Blue.  It’s good stuff.

Disney Springs:

  • There is an abundance of beer in Disney Springs.  It’s also our favorite place to relax when visiting Disney World.  There is one place that stands out above the rest for beer here.  Number five on our list is Ragland Road Irish Pub in The Landing section of Disney Springs.  This is a traditional Irish pub and an incredible place to relax with a beer.  If you haven’t been before, it’s worth a trip just to see the wood work inside the bar.  As a side note, the fish and chips are excellent as well!

Disney Resorts:

beer tour disney world

  • Contemporary Resort – And finally, number seven is the California Grill .  To be fair, this is an upscale dining experience and not just a bar.  That said, they have an amazing beer and wine selection.  Here’s my tip to the dad’s out there – bring your wife here for date night.  Or if that’s not an option, bring the whole family and eat dinner while watching the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.  Yes, the restaurant overlooks the Magic Kingdom.  My favorite beer selection here is Jai Alai from Cigar City Brewing.  It’s really hoppy and really well done.

So, these are the seven best places to get beer in Walt Disney World.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think about any of these.  I also really want to know if you prefer any other locations.  Cheers!

Clint

Cannot wait! Thank you for the tips!

No problem! Hope you enjoy. I’ve spent many hours searching for the best beer there. Hard work, I know 🙂

There is a new taphouse in Hollywood Studios with a surprising selection!

You’re so right, we tried it recently and it is awesome!

Craft Beer Around the World at Walt Disney’s EPCOT

Tim Brady

  • December 30 March 22

Always a fan of Disney’s EPCOT, we were excited to snag a last-minute cancellation at Disney’s Fort Wilderness campground for Christmas week.

Research showed that this campground included complimentary transportation to any Disney park. So we made the decision to spend our Christmas celebrating at the most adult adventure at Disney World’s EPCOT; what’s often called “drinking around the world” . We, of course, put our own twist on the adventure by sticking to craft beers that were native to the Country represented by each pavilion. What ensued was both entertaining and informative. Here’s how we spent our day:

Canada Pavilion

Our best Oh (Canada) Faces

Our first stop was the Canada pavilion . Most of the blogs and websites we’ve seen about this adventure suggest starting to the left of the World Showcase, with some tequila at Mexico. However for our craft beer version we decided Canada was a much better start.

The Canada pavilion offers Unibroue La Fin du Monde, Trois Pistoles, and Éphémère right outside at their beer cart. The prices are around $8 – $12 per draft pour, but the pours here are 20oz, which is actually not that bad of a value (relative of course). In addition, if you are dining at Le Cellier, they serve a few other Unibroue beers and offer flights. We chose the Trois Pistoles by Unibroue which is a delicious Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

While you’re here check out the movie in the round (no beer allowed inside though so be warned). It’s an entertaining look at the various provinces of Canada.

Many of the draft beer pours at EPCOT are 20oz, which makes the prices a bit more reasonable.

Mexico Pavilion

Viva la Mexico pavilion

Our second stop was Mexico , where we had made a lunch reservation at the San Angel Inn Restaurant. Being it was Christmas day, reservations for dining were difficult to come by so we snatched this one up, even though the craft beer options here are less than stellar. We settled on the Dos Equis Special Lager with our carne asada.

If it weren’t for eating here, we would have held off Mexico for the end as it has the least interesting beer options. There’s better beer choices in Mexico at the La Cava de Tequila bar, including a few craft beers from the Dia de los Muertos.

The Mexico pavilion itself, however, is one of my favorites. Designed to look like you’re outside, it’s such a fun space. They also have the only real “ride” of the World Showcase. It’s a boat ride and is similar to the “Small World” concept, showcasing Mexico and Donald Duck. Be forewarned though, no beer is allowed on the ride :-)

United States Pavilion – The American Adventure

'Murica

Being we had already hit Canada and Mexico, we decided to head to the United States pavilion to finish off North America.

Interestingly the United States (or American Adventure as it’s called) was one of the last pavilions to serve craft beer and still does not offer draft beer at their “beer cart”. But the cart does offer a few solid bottle choices including Cigar City Maduro Brown and Napa Smith Hopageddon Imperial IPA . We went with the Maduro Brown and it was delicious.

The American Adventure show is still as interesting and entertaining as you remember. Definitely worth some exploring, although the show is not as good as the Hall of Presidents, in my opinion.

Italy Pavilion

Belisimo - From the Italy Pavilion

Now it was on to Italy where we were admittedly surprised by the extensive (albeit quite pricey) beer list at Tutto Gusto (entrance under the Wine Bar awning).

Having not much more knowledge of Italian beer than the standard Birra Moretti , we went with a delicious and bright Pilsner called Tipopils from Birrificio Italiano . This may have been the best beer we tried that day, which made me feel a bit better about the $14 price tag.

The Italy pavilion is also a great place to grab a bite to eat, as the walk up stand in the back corner has some reasonably priced snacks, including a $7 personal cheese pizza.

Germany Pavilion

A Giant Pretzel and Delicious Beer at the Germany Pavilion

From here we walked over to the Germany pavilion , where we picked up a unique and delicious Schöfferhofer Grapefruit at the Trinken Beer Cart.

The beer cart also offered the Altenmünster Oktoberfest but I was feeling a bit more adventurous and am glad I went with the Grapefruit. I’m typically against “produce in my beer” but this combination was refreshing and delicious. I highly recommend giving it a try.

One note about Germany:

Despite the restaurants name, the Biergarten does not have a bar or a very interesting beer list.

The Biergarten restaurant is just a basic buffet of German food. There’s no great hidden beer list here… Bummer.

The Germany pavilion also has a large model train layout built alongside the pathway worth a visit.

Japan Pavilion

On the stairs of Tokyo Dining at the Japan Pavilion

Next up was Japan and our next dining reservation. One tip I would offer to those who want to spend one of their days on this adventure would be to make a variety of advance dining reservations. This gives you the opportunity to sit down for a bit, enjoy a snack or a full meal, and if you’re a member of “ Tables in Wonderland ” as we are, you can even get 20% off of your food and your beers to boot!

Make several advanced dining reservations ahead of time. These will allow you the opportunity to sit and relax and snack or have a meal.

But back to the adventure. We dined at Tokyo Dining, which is one of our favorite restaurants at the park. Great sushi and sashimi, a delicious ginger salad dressing, fresh seafood and if you dine here in the evening, one of the best views of the fireworks.

We enjoyed a Ichiban / Ichiban Shibori from Kirin Brewery Company with our sushi snack, ask for a large which is served in a 24oz glass for a great deal of $7.50 and enjoy what is probably the friendliest service at Disney.

Norway Pavilion

FROZEN! At the Norway Pavilion

After Japan it was off to Norway , where Frozen fever has aparently taken over.

Gone is the Maelstrom, supposedly in preparation for a new Frozen themed ride (do you wanna build a snowman – the ride?).

We grabbed a Icelandic White Ale by Einstök Olger and checked out the small museum where they’ve admittedly done a really decent job of incorporating some “Frozen” facts into a genuine look at the terrain, clothing, architecture and history of Norway.

Crazy fact, you cannot actually get a Norway beer at the Norway pavilion restaurant. So have your beer at their beer cart instead.

You cannot actually get a Norway beer at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Get your beer at the beer cart here instead.

China Pavilion

Next it was on to China where we had a refreshing Tsingtao from Tsingtao Brewery . There weren’t many craft beer options here, but Tsingtao is always a nice choice with Chinese food.

The China pavilion also has a 360 degree movie like Canada. The China version isn’t designed to be quite as entertaining, but it does give an interesting look at the country and it’s history. There’s also a museum here and both a counter service and table service restaurant.

China the only country pavilion we haven’t dined in for some reason… I suppose we’ll have to change that one day.

Morocco Pavilion

Gettin' our Fez on at the Morocco pavilion

Morocco is one of the most interesting pavilions at EPCOT. The architecture and detail are beautiful.

Fun fact: when EPCOT was building the World Showcase, Morocco was so honored to be included that, at their own expense, they sent craftsmen to construct the elaborate spaces, carve the woodwork and lay the mosaic tiles. This attention to detail shows and the museum section of the Morocco pavilion is quite amazing.

We picked up an Efes Dark by Anadolu Efes and spent a half hour exploring the museum (which you can do with beer in had), learning about everything from style to henna. We also dined at Marrakesh on a different occasion and wanted to give a shout out to that restaurant. It’s something different (also it’s one of the easier restaurants to get a reservation at) and is very well done.

France Pavilion

Oh La La - the France Pavilion

From Morocco we walked over to France , where we had a dinner reservation at the very nice Chefs de France restaurant. We enjoyed a 1664 by Brasseries Kronenbourg while we waited for a table by the window so that we could watch the fireworks show (not as great of a view as Tokyo Dining, but still worth the wait).

Obviously wine is the featured beverage in France, with some great selections available, all by the glass or bottle, but to be true to our agenda we stayed the course with our craft beer.

If you’re looking for something more casual for dining, there is no better choice in the World Showcase than the Boulangerie Paitisserie les Halles Cafe behind Chefs de France in the France pavilion. Here you can get delicious sandwiches, quiches, pastries and more, all for a very reasonable price. We’ve eaten here on a number of occasions, the outside bistro tables are in a small courtyard and off the main path, which makes this a very comfortable and reasonably priced lunch (or dessert!) option.

The Boulangerie Paitisserie les Halles in the France pavilion is probably the best kept dining secret in the World Showcase.

United Kingdom Pavilion

It's a wrap - at the UK Pavilion

Finally, after a marathon day of exploring the craft beer options at EPCOT, we ended our tour at the United Kingdom with a good ole fashioned Guinness .

The Rose and Crown pub here offers perfectly poured Guinness, Harp or Bass, each in a 20oz pour. They also have a variety of small plates, or there is a fish and chips cart outside as well.

Across from the Rose and Crown there’s often some street performers playing music and there are some nice places to sit and relax and people watch.

Overall, this was probably one of the best Christmas days we’ve had since we were kids ourselves. We treated this as a marathon, not a sprint, and split most of the beers as we enjoyed some serious people watching. As for the overall stats, we spent all day (about 11 hours) enjoying ourselves at the park. We walked almost 14 miles and in total spent about $250, including the beers, the food and Christmas Day sized tips. We tried 7 beers that we had never tried before and learned a lot about the holiday culture of the countries we visited along the way. If you’ve got an extra day to spend meandering around EPCOT, we would certainly suggest you sample some of the craft beer offerings the pavilions have. Now, if we could only convince Disney to offer a “beer passport” like the wine one they offer…

There are several outdoor seating areas scattered around the Germany pavilion.

First, there is the line of picnic and standing tables along the water that offer great views.

Warning: these don’t have coverage, meaning the section can become very hot in the sun and on those boiling summer days.

There are also tables in the middle of the pavilion with chairs. But, again, these aren’t covered, so you can’t usually find shade.

Entertainment

Sometimes you can find German bands in the pavilion performing on the stage to the left of where the festival food booths are, like the Groovin’ Alps above.

You’ll be able to find entertainment listed in the My Disney Experience app, which lists the daily schedule.

There is also entertainment inside Biergarten Restaurant.

  • Here’s everywhere you can see characters at Disney World

There are several different activities in the Germany pavilion that you can enjoy with and without a beer and caramel popcorn.

In the back of the pavilion by the ordering window for Sommerfest, you’ll find a really cool mural. It makes for great photos!

Plus, it was originally supposed to be the entrance to a boat ride that was going to be built called “The Rhine River Cruise”.

Kidcot Fun Stop

There are 11 total Kidcot Fun Stops in the World Showcase, with one in each country.

beer tour disney world

The stops are a great family-friendly activity that keep little ones interested as you walk around to each country, not to mention the activity is also educational.

beer tour disney world

Better yet, these stops are completely complimentary. Talk about an affordable activity — and souvenir!

All you have to do is visit each station and collect an activity card detailing facts and activities featuring the culture and traditions of each country.

Germany’s Kidcot Fun Stop is currently located inside Die Weihnachts Ecke, the Christmas-themed store.

The stop is also right next to one of the entrance’s of Karamell-Küche.

Save this checklist and have your little one check off each Kidcot Fun Stop as you make your way through each country.

Miniature Train

You must visit the miniature train area, aka the “Garden Railway.”

beer tour disney world

The tiny German village features model trains, homes, people, and foliage. It’s such a fun and perfectly-themed part of the pavilion.

beer tour disney world

Tip : The tiny flags in the village change with each festival, so be sure to take a look!

Clock Tower

The clock tower in the center of the pavilion chimes every half-hour. But, it’s the top of the hour you want to see — trust us.

beer tour disney world

Along with it, a mini-show occurs, similar to the clock at “it’s a small world.”

You’ll get to see a wooden German girl and boy pop out of the tower and dance. Sometimes the timing is off, so be sure to stick around for a few.

If you happen to have time or are in the area around this time, be sure to watch!

Coin Press Machine

For $1.00, you can use this coin press machine to create German and Disney-themed pressed pennies. Some are even Snow White-themed!

beer tour disney world

You can either pay $1.00 for each or $5.00 for all 8. Germany’s coin press machine is next to Sommerfest.

Picture Spot

germany photo spot - Epcot

While there isn’t a Disney PhotoPass photographer in Germany, there is a suggested PhotoPass picture spot where you can take a nice photo in the pavilion.

Best Fireworks Views

There are actually several unobstructed areas in the Germany pavilion to watch the nighttime spectacular.

harmonious viewing - Epcot - germany pavilion

There’s a section near the Italy pavilion, which has a great view and one that’s a little bit closer to the center of the lagoon.

harmonious viewing - Epcot - germany pavilion

There are even some areas with standing tables, which is nice if you want to eat and drink while you wait.

And you just might end up waiting awhile if you grab a viewing spot early.

harmonious viewing - Epcot - germany pavilion

Germany also has a wheelchair accessible viewing section for guests in wheelchairs and anyone in their party.

This area will be roped off. It’s also first-come, first-served. They can fill up quick, so make sure you arrive at a decent time.

Other reasons Germany makes a great spot to watch fireworks:

  • The pavilion has restrooms (necessary if you snag a spot way before showtime)
  • Tasty food and drinks for both kids and adults
  • Activities to keep little ones entertained (coin press machine, miniature train, Kidcot Fun Stop)
  • Lots of shops to walk through if someone in your party needs a break while waiting
  • Close to Italy pavilion and Refreshment Outpost for other food, drinks, shopping, and activities

What to look out for:

  • Be on the lookout for the islands and trees; Germany has several spots that have partially obstructed views, so try to position yourself with as few things in front of you as possible.

Here’s what the view looks like from Germany:

Germany Harmonious

Be sure to grab a spot for the show at least 60 minutes before showtime. Space can fill up quickly.

You can find showtimes listed in the My Disney Experience app.

Friendship Landing Boats

germany pavilion boats - Epcot

Usually beginning at 11 a.m., the Friendship boats will start running across World Showcase Lagoon.

Boat schedules can vary depending on several factors, like weather.

Epcot -friendship boat

There are two internal routes: one that runs between Canada and Morocco and the other that runs between Mexico and Germany.

The boats typically run about every 15 minutes. They will cease running at a certain point each evening. A final departure time will be posted at each dock, so pay attention to that.

The boats certainly can’t run during fireworks, hence why they stop running them at a specific time.

germany pavilion restrooms in Epcot

There is a set of restrooms in Germany next to the miniature train area as you walk toward the Italy pavilion.

Festival Exclusives

Like every other country in the World Showcase, different festival exclusives can be found in the Germany pavilion.

This is for all 4 Epcot festivals:  Food and Wine ,  Festival of the Holidays ,  Festival of the Arts , and  Flower and Garden .

Bauernmarkt flower and garden booth - germany - Epcot

  • Special dining packages available for booking at Biergarten Restaurant

  • Did You Know Theme Parks Have Exclusive Beers?! Here’s Our Favorites.

beer tour disney world

One of the best things about visiting Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World is the FOOD AND DRINKS!

beer tour disney world

From Butterbeer at Hogwarts to snacking around the World at EPCOT , there’s no shortage of yummy eats and treats. And while there are literally hundreds of snacks and drinks, you may not realize just how exclusive some of them are!

If you’re looking for an adult beverage, you probably know that there are tons of unique flavors and concoctions for you to choose from. But did you know that some of the beers at Disney and Universal parks are EXCLUSIVE to them?! That’s right — they’ve partnered with craft breweries to come up with brews you can’t get anywhere else. I always love trying exclusive beers when available vs. something I can order anywhere. When in Diagon Alley, drink like the wizards do?

Here’s a few of our favorite theme park beers you can’t get anywhere else!

1. Wizarding World Beers

There’s not one, not two, but THREE exclusive beers in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando — the Dragon Scale (an amber lager), the Hog’s Head Brew (a red ale), and the Wizard’s Brew (a stout).

beer tour disney world

You can find them at various locations throughout Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, including the main restaurants, The Leaky Cauldron and the Three Broomsticks. We should note, however, that the Hog’s Head brew is only available in Hogsmeade…which makes sense considering it was brewed for the pub of a similar name!

These beers were made by Florida Beer Company, which is right down the road at Cape Canaveral, FL. While these are all darker beers (and I normally am more of a lighter beer fan), I’ve tried and liked them all! My favorite is the Dragon Scale — while an amber lager is not something I’d pick normally, I’m not going to pass up the chance to enjoy Wizard exclusive beer!

2. Pandora Flair

Heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom , we’ve got more beers — this time on an alien planet. In Pandora, the World of Avatar , you can find two specialty beers served at both Pongu Pongu and Satu’li Canteen .

beer tour disney world

Both brewed by the Terrapin Beer Co. in Georgia, you can sip on the Mo’Ara High Country Ale (a darker ale) or the green Hawke’s Grog Ale. I love the Hawke’s because it’s so fruity and light…and it’s green which obviously means it’s more fun.

3. Can’t Get Enough of That Wonderful Duff

Head to Springfield in Universal Studios Florida, and you’ll enter a land entirely themed after the Simpsons! And would that be complete without Duff?!

beer tour disney world

Scoot on over the Duff Brewery and you can enjoy a classic Duff (amber lager), a Duff Lite (pilsner), or a Duff Dry (a dark ale). These are also made by Florida Beer Company. D’oh!

4. Boathouse Cheers!

Head to Disney Springs’ the Boathouse and you can find another signature beer, the Dockside Lager — and this one comes in an awesome can!

beer tour disney world

Brewed at the Florida Ave. Brewing Co. in Tampa, this lager is served just at the Boathouse.

beer tour disney world

This may be one of our favorites on the list flavor-wise — nice and light, but still unique with fruity flavors. Plus, you can sip it on the beautiful patio with a view of Disney Springs.

beer tour disney world

5. Volcano Bay Brew and Views

If you’re headed to Universal’s Water Park, Volcano Bay, you can grab a signature beer there as well!

beer tour disney world

The Volcano Blossom is brewed locally at the Orange Blossom Brewing Company, and is very light and floral, with notes of hibiscus. It’s not a drink for everyone, but after a long day of slides and sun, it hit the spot!

6. A Beer from a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Just like on Pandora and in the Wizarding World, all of the beers in Star Wars : Galaxy’s Edge are brewed just for Batuu! You can find a variety of beers throughout the land at the Quick Service locations, stands, and of course, Oga’s Cantina.

beer tour disney world

Beers include:

Gold Squadron Lager: a floral lager found at Docking Bay 7 and Oga’s Cantina, brewed by Blue Point Brewing Co. in New York.

Gamorrean Ale: a red ale at Oga’s Cantina brewed by New Belgium Brewing Co. in Colorado.

White Wampa Ale: a wheat beer found at Oga’s Cantina and made by Ballast Point Brewing Co. in California.

Bad Motivator IPA: a hoppy IPA also at Oga’s Cantina from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in California.

Trandoshan Ale: a blood orange saison found at Ronto Roasters and made by Concrete Brewing Co. in Miami.

And if you’re the ultimate beer drinker, you can get a flight of the top four at Oga’s Cantina served in a souvenir rancor tooth board. But it’ll cost you — the flight is $85!

beer tour disney world

7. KUNGALOOSH!

Fans of the Adventurer’s Club at the now-extinct Pleasure Island will enjoy the name of this Animal Kingdom brew.

beer tour disney world

You can find the Kungaloosh around the park at the Nomad Lounge and Thirsty River Bar. It’s dark and flavorful and brewed by the Concrete Beach Brewery in Miami.

So there you have it — a list of our favorite beers made JUST for theme parks. We hope you enjoy one on your next trip — cheers!
