Points to note

Great article about the TTDC Hotel Kanyakumari, based on your experience. There is a nice and good cooking staff in this hotel, Mr.Madhavan Pillai who can be called as the king of tasty food. He is so kind and disciplined.

We also had an enjoyable n relaxed stay at hotel Tamil Nadu kanyakumari, the room was sea facing n that was the best . The hotel is centrally located with all the major attractions within easy access. The only thing we found lacking was electric kettle....which is these days provided by every hotels.

"Cape Comorin or The Land's End"

Kanyakumari tourism.

Located at the southernmost tip of the Indian subcontinent, Kanyakumari is a captivating coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu. Renowned for its breathtaking confluence of three vast water bodies – the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean – Kanyakumari is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty and spiritual significance. Also known as Cape Comorin, this town holds a special place in Indian mythology and folklore, with legends associating it with the virgin goddess Kanyakumari Devi.

Kanyakumari is a magnet for tourists, drawing visitors with its unique geographical location and cultural heritage. One of the most peculiar aspects of the town is that of witnessing both sunrise and sunset over the ocean horizon from the same spot called Triveni Sangam, an experience cherished by travelers. Kanyakumari also boasts a breathtaking phenomenon where the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean converge, forming a mesmerizing spectacle. However, the true marvel lies in the distinctiveness of these waters; despite meeting at a single point, they maintain their individual hues of turquoise blue, deep blue, and sea green. Visitors to Kanyakumari are spoilt for choice when it comes to activities and attractions. From exploring historic landmarks like the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue to indulging in water activities like boating, there's something for everyone. The town's rich religious heritage is evident in its revered temples, including the iconic Kanyakumari Temple dedicated to the goddess Devi Kanya Kumari. Additionally, the Gandhi Memorial Mandapam pays homage to the Mahatma's historic visit to the region. For nature enthusiasts, the pristine Kanyakumari beach  and Thirparappu Waterfalls  offer opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. The View Tower provides panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape, while the Tsunami Memorial Park serves as a poignant reminder of the town's resilience in the face of natural disasters. To witness the spectacular sunrise, travelers flock to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, while the sunset can be best enjoyed from the shores near the Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam. Kanyakumari is well-connected to major cities in South India via railways, with regular train services from Chennai, Trivandrum, Bengaluru and other prominent destinations. The railway station serves as a vital transportation hub, facilitating easy access for tourists eager to explore this enchanting coastal gem.

Value for money - Fully satisfied

shanmugham vijayanand

We had a satisfying Overnight stay at resort like accomodations., Backdoor opens up into the beach. Location you cannot ask for anything more., walkable distance to sunrise and sunset towers., Gandhi mandapam, beach., etc. Breakfast is complementary and excellent south indian cusine. Lunch is south indian meals and made to order as well. Dinner could not try as we had checked out. Large spacious rooms., bathrooms need a bit more attention for cleanliness. Round the clock security and ours was a very late night check-in and everything was in place. Additionally the staffs were very receptive, supportive and well organised.

Good hotel, near temple

Krishna Chaitanya Ganugupati

This TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari is almost walkable to amman temple, sunrise view point, vivekananda ferry boarding point, etc, one can have a decent sunrise view from the TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari itself. This can be a good advantage when you are with kids or elders. Property has 3-4 peacocks inside, which makes the environment more pleasant. Just outside main gate we have a lighthouse with a glass lift to reach to top, this is a must watch with fantastic view. Complementary breakfast is good. Inhouse restaurant provides decent options. It does not have a swimming pool.

Pleasant stay at hotel tamil nadu

Pranav Damodaran

Had a pleasant stay at TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari tamil nadu, breakfast included is of good taste, and TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari also has in- house restaurant which makes it easy for having lunch, evening snacks as well as dinner. The location is pristine with many places nearby which can be visited nearby. The room has 24 hours hot water supply, our room was kept clean and towels and toiletries were provided on request, we also received daily newspapers and the staff were very courteous and helpful. Overall highly recommended and it's definitely value for money.

Hotel tamilnadu kanniyakumari is a govt of tamilnadu undertaking. So rooms are spacious and TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari is located on beach only and has back side pathway to beach. Services needs to be improved, like we didn't get toiletries and towels at the time of check in. We had to ask for it twice at reception. Further, restaurant food quality is ok but services needs to be improved. Overall average budget TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari with very good location.

Mind blowing trip

We came here for 1 night n opted this TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari through mmt, enjoyed a lot as superb location no need to go outside, from TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari you can see n go to beach n vivekanand statue, room was spacious n campus is big to walk at any time with lots of peacock roaming besides you. In side campus good south indian restaurant and separate bar is also time saving to enjoy your trip better. Staffs are cooperative.

Excellent Stay

Sourabh Girdhar

I stayed in this TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari for one night in kanyakumari, it's not a typical TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari it has a resort feeling. Lot of greenery and so many peacocks to feel good. It has a back side gate which opens directly towards the beach road. We can enjoy sunrise and sunset both from the TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari only if you don't want to go to crowded view points. No

Bhagyashree Bhaidkar

Basically it's a budget TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari. Having best location in kanyakumari and blessed with beauty of peacock. Food options are limited but having good test. Staff is cooperative. Deluxe ac rooms having good view. Uninterrupted sea view. Nearby all sightseeing spots at walkable distance. Only on part of check in they have to speed up. Overall good experience. Will definitely like to visit again.

Hotel tamilnadu offered a pleasant peaceful stay. No nuisances. Ambience was terrific. Food was satisfactory. All the major sites was within a walkable distance. And room was spacy and clean. Please don't with high expectations. A govt property can't offer services standards like a typical TTDC Hotel TamilNadu - Kanniyakumari. But location, facilities, proximity to sea, size of the area. All great. Services stabdrads are belwo average.

Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin flags off TTDC buses

tamilnadu tourism development corporation kanyakumari

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the services of five new luxury buses belonging to the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), procured at a cost of Rs 3 crore as part of a development programme charted out to improve tourism in the State.

Since Tamil Nadu had more tourist spots of diverse variety like ancient temples, rolling hills and natural forests and beautiful beaches than most other States, development of tourism had the potential to increase local employment, earn foreign exchange, an official press release said.

The State’s towns and cities are also linked by road, rail and air from every part of the country and the TTDC, set up in 1971 by the then Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, has its own bus services, tour schedules, own hotel network – in the name of Tamil Nadu Hotels- and boat services, the release said.

The TTDC conducted package tours providing tourists a wide range of choices to visit the hill stations of Tamil Nadu, temples and also cities and towns in the neighbouring States. Also its bus services are of different categories starting from Volvo luxury carriages to ordinary luxury buses to 18 seat luxury vans.

Between the period of May 7, 2021 and May 31, 2024, the total of 15 vehicles owned by TTDC had taken 3,03,721 tourists to different places. Now the five new buses – four coaches with 35 seat capacity and another with 18 seats- have been added to the fleet.

The new vehicles come with facilities for long distance and long duration travels like air conditioning, air suspension, GPS wifi, mobile phone charger in every seat and exhaustive boot space for the tourists to keep their luggage for long term journeys.

Besides, the tourism department has also announced 12 ambitious projects aimed at developing tourism in various places across the State like conducting a Tamil Nadu Travel Mart at Chennai at a cost of Rs one crore to develop tourism by popularizing tourist spots in the State and creating a network with other stakeholders all over the country.

The government has earmarked Rs 18.80 crore for upgrading the hotels run by TTDC in Ooty, Connor, Kodaikanal, Yercaud, Hokkengal, Coimbatore, Trichy, Krishnagiri, Hosur, Thanjavur, Pichavaram, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram, Tiruchendur, Kanchipuram, Tirunelveli and Mamallapuram. The project aims at improving the boarding and lodging facilities in the hotels to attract more tourists.

A feasibility study report would be prepared at a cost of Rs 50 lakh to explore the possibilities of promoting rural tourism and astro tourism in the State by identifying the right places. Under astro tourism, visitors to the State would be getting the privilege of watching the celestial wonders at night hours and for that observatories would be set up at different places.

Rural tourism would provide memorable experiences to people, mainly from the urban concrete jungles, to savour the beauty of nature and live with nature by arranging interaction with farmers, visit farms and fields, devour rural cuisine and enjoy nature in its pristine form and beauty. Promoting rural tourism would also be boon to the local people as it would enhance employment opportunities.

A master plan would be prepared at a cost of Rs 1 crore to develop the Pudupattinam Beach in Thanjavur district and the Palaverkadu lake near Chennai to provide facilities for tourists and another Rs one crore would be spent on promoting water sports like sailing, surfing, rowing, kayaking and other adventure game on the 1,076 km long coastline that had endowed Tamil Nadu with the most number of beaches = 13 per cent more than the national average.
