Letter to Father Seeking Permission to go on an Excursion

Dear Father,

I am really sorry for not being able to write to you last week as my pre-board examination preparation tests session was undergoing. I have had a better percentage in this test session, especially in Math, Physics, and Chemistry. As you know I am having these test sessions for about 6 months now, I really feel that now I am gaining more grip over Math, Physics, and chemistry. I will send you my cumulative result report of the last 2 test sessions by the 10 of January. Then my last session “send-ups” will be left to attempt.  Board papers will commence end of March.

I wanted to take your kind permission for an excursion trip to Naran & Kaghan with the Class, and school teachers for a week. Papa, I am really tired and want to have some mental relaxation for a few days before I give my send-ups attempt. I am kind of room sick, and my nerves need to relax. The excursion trip will be leaving on 15 January and will return on 19 January, under the kind guidance, and surveillance of staff teachers, and the Coordinator.

The charges for an excursion trip are Rs 5000 per head. Cambridge and Matric student badges will be going together. Also, this will be our last school memory, an excursion trip. I really don’t want to miss it as well I will have psychological relief from the burden of studies for a while.

I hope you will definitely allow me to go on this excursion trip with my fellows and teachers. I assure you that this excursion trip and relaxation will not affect my result and performance in send-ups.

I need to submit my dues, and parents’ permission letter by 10 January. Kindly, reply to me soon so I don’t miss this chance. Love you, papa, you are my inspiration. Love you loads. I will keep updating you at whatever location we reach. I will send the detailed excursion trip destinations and transportation. Love you!

Yours Shining Star,

Loving daughter Dj

The school visit: what to look for, what to ask

The school visit: what to look for, what to ask

Be sure to visit all the schools on your list, if you can. A visit is the best way to determine whether a school is right for your child. Even a short visit will help you identify a school’s strengths and challenges. It’s also the only way to get a feel for a school’s climate — intangible but important factors like the dynamism of the teaching, engagement of the students, quality of communication, level of respect between students, teachers, administrators, and parents, and the overall sense that the school offers a safe and inspiring learning environment .

School visit checklists

Use this printable guide to help you plan your elementary, middle, or high school visit.

Before your visit

  • Do your homework. Read about the schools you’ll be visiting. Examine their school profiles on GreatSchools.org. Talk to other parents and check your local newspaper for articles about the schools.
  • Contact the school.  Most schools conduct regular school tours and open houses during the enrollment season — typically in the fall. Call the school or go online to schedule a visit.
  • Ask and observe. Jot down your questions before your visit (the sample questions below will help you create your list).

Key questions to ask

  • Does this school have a particular educational philosophy or mission?

How To Write A School Trip Letter To Parents

When it comes to booking a  school trip , there are countless things to consider and plan – it’s an exciting time for all involved. But, after you have gained approval from the necessary channels, there comes a time when you must start promoting your school trip to your students and their parents – after all, planning can only go so far without their buy in.

The most common way to spread word about an upcoming trip is to send a letter to parents. But what should you include, and how much information is too much?

To help, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide of how to write a school trip letter to parents. Take a look below for inspiration, including a downloadable school trip letter template.

What To Include In Your Letter

1. what are the benefits of a school trip.

The main aim of your letter should be to convey how enriching a school trip can be for any student.

School trips are a fantastic way for students to learn – seeing new sights and experiencing unfamiliar cultures can be a great way to stimulate the brain, while creating a memorable case study to aid their learning.

In your letter you could make parents aware of exactly how beneficial and enriching a school trip can be for students. This will help to build a case for parents to see the how a trip will aid their child in the long term.

2. The trip logistics

As with any investment, parents will want to know precisely where their money will be spent before making a decision on whether to send their child on a school trip.

To put parents’ minds at ease, you  can inform them of the logistics of the trip. Make sure to include the trip’s price , dates , what the deposit will be , how many places there are , when a response is needed by , and a general outline of what the trip will include (if possible). Make sure to include which subjects or modules the school trip will be beneficial towards.

A slip  can be also provided along the bottom of the letter which can be filled out by parents to secure their child’s place. This will help to garner how many students would like to attend the trip.

3. Your school trip provider

Finally, when writing your letter, you should make an effort to introduce the school trip  provider  you have chosen. This will allow peace of mind for parents wishing to find out more about their child’s school trip.

When introducing your school trip organiser, it is often beneficial to mention their point of difference. What was it that made you choose them? Put their minds at rest by confirming that the company has all the  accreditations to keep their child and their money safe.  Your school trip organiser should be able to help you with this.

Is there an example I can use?

If you’re looking for help with writing a letter to inform parents about an upcoming school trip, then this example letter should lend a hand.

A permission letter for school trip is written to seek permission from the legal authority of the student for conducting a school trip. A school writes this letter to the parents of the students with the purpose of getting consent that allows their kids to take part of such an educational tour. It is also important to inform the every detail regarding the trip that makes the parents satisfied about the safety of their kids. The letter should clarify all the doubts of the parents and that is also helpful to have their nods on the tour proposal.

School Tours

School tours focus on empowering students to use their voices, develop an investigative process with fine art, foster empathy, (re)discover the museum and make it their own. Tour themes are interdisciplinary and socially interactive. Museum educators work closely with teachers to make art accessible for every student.

Art Essentials Tour

Adaptable to all age groups, this tour explores the fundamental elements of art through student driven, interactive dialogue that embraces a multilingual approach. Students develop visual literacy skills by learning to identify and describe artists' choices, draw comparisons between different works of art, and make connections to their own lives.

The docent-led, one hour Art Essentials Tour is $50 per group of 10 students, with 2 adults. Up to 4 additional students per group, and additional adults are $5 per person. Please plan 75 minutes at the Currier for a 60-minute tour.

The current school tour structure allows for up to 80 students per visit. Half the students spend 45 to 60 minutes on docent-led tours, followed or preceded by structured time with chaperones in the galleries. For sketching, clipboards and pencils are available; please include this request in the  Additional Information  text box on the tour request form. Art activities are not being offered at the museum.

Self-Guided Gallery Time

School and youth groups are welcome to book group-time in the galleries. They may explore the museum in smaller groups of up to 10 students and need to be accompanied by 2 adults. For self-guided gallery time, you may use a Currier designed worksheet. Please check with us what is available.

Self-guided gallery time is $30 for up to 20 students.

Dear Sir/ Ma’am, This is (student's guardian's name) and I am writing to state that my son/daughter (student's name) is seeking admission to your school in class (mention the class).

My child has performed decently throughout their previous years. Now that I have been transferred from my work location, I have found your school to be the best choice in my new vicinity.

My child is interested in different kind of sports as well, mainly table tennis and I think your school has enough scope to provide the proper guidance. I am sure they will get a good quality of education under the supervision of talented and experienced teachers.

I have attached all the details of my child's academic records. Please arrange an appointment next week, based on your schedule. If anything I have missed to provide you, kindly feel free to contact me on my mobile number.

I look forward for a positive reply.

(Guardian’s Name)

When a student is applying for admission to a school, it is usually their first entry into the school. Therefore, the letter should be brief and include all the aspects that the parents want their child to be provided with during their education. Some schools also require information about the student's family background and qualifications, so it's important to include these details in the letter if necessary.

Please let me know if you would like to schedule a formal discussion or if you have any other process for evaluating the student.

You can contact me at the above-mentioned number if you need any more information.

For a primary school admission, if the child was already in a playschool or a lower nursery, their previous records should be provided. There's a norm of evaluating the student, so the syllabus also should be asked for.

Sometimes the increased school fees cause extra hurdles for a student's education. There is some scope for the management to provide concessions for the student in their academic fees. A request can be written so that the management may consider the concession.

Judge Hasn’t Ruled on Trump’s Graduation Request

By Eugene Kiely

Posted on April 16, 2024

Para leer en español, vea esta traducción de El Tiempo Latino.

On the first day of his criminal fraud trial in New York, former President Donald Trump requested that the judge not hold court proceedings on May 17 — the day of his youngest son’s high school graduation. The judge did not rule on the request, saying he preferred to wait to see how the trial unfolds.

But the Trump family and conservative commentators — relying on the former president’s confusing and contradictory remarks about his request — wrongly attacked New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan for banning or prohibiting the defendant from attending Barron Trump’s graduation from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida.

school tour request letter

Eric Trump, another of the former president’s sons, wrote on X : “Judge Merchan is truly heartless in not letting a father attend his son’s graduation.” Donald Trump Jr. called it “ pure evil .”

Conservative commentator Graham Allen wrote on X , “Trump should defy the judge and go to his son’s graduation ANYWAY!!” He also put on Instagram another X post that said , “Judge Merchan told President Trump that he could not attend his son Barron’s high school graduation or would be SENT TO JAIL.”

But that’s not what the judge told Trump.

According to the Associated Press, which attended the first day of the trial, the judge deferred a decision.

Associated Press, April 15: Trump’s lawyers have requested that the trial not be held on May 17 so that the former president may attend his son Barron’s high school graduation. A Trump lawyer has also requested the trial not be held June 3 so that he could attend his own son’s graduation. Merchan said he was not prepared to rule on either request, but that if the trial proceeds as planned he’s willing to adjourn for one or both days. “It really depends on how we’re doing on time and where we are in the trial,” Merchan said.

The former president’s own remarks on the issue were confusing.

Trump is on trial for allegedly falsifying business records to keep allegations of extramarital affairs a secret during the 2016 presidential campaign. (For more, see our article “ Q&A on Grand Jury Indictment of Trump in New York .”) After the first day of the trial ended, Trump briefly spoke before the news cameras outside the courtroom.

Trump started his remarks by expressing his opinion that the judge was unlikely to let him attend the graduation, and he may have reason to suspect that could be the case. After all, Merchan rejected Trump’s request for a court recess on April 25 so he can attend oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court on a matter related to one of his federal criminal cases. (The high court that day will take up Trump’s claim of presidential immunity from federal prosecution on charges that he attempted to illegally overturn the 2020 presidential election results.)

Here’s what Trump initially said in his remarks about his request to attend the May 17 graduation:

Trump, April 15: We had some amazing things happen today. As you know, my son has graduated from high school, and it looks like the judge will not let me go to the graduation of my son who’s worked very, very hard. He’s a great student, and he’s very proud of the fact that he did so well. And was looking forward for years to have graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam.

In closing, however, Trump wrongly said, “I can’t go to my son’s graduation.”

“So I just want to thank you very much, but that I can’t go to my son’s graduation or that I can’t go to the United States Supreme Court. That I’m not in Georgia or Florida or North Carolina campaigning like I should be. It’s perfect for the radical left Democrats. That’s exactly what they want,” Trump said before leaving the courthouse.

Trump further muddied the waters when he later made conflicting statements on Truth Social.

Trump wrote that he will “likely not be allowed to attend” Barron’s graduation ceremony, which again is his opinion perhaps based on the judge’s ruling about the Supreme Court hearing. But then he incorrectly wrote in another post that he is “being prohibited from attending my son Barron’s High School Graduation.”

Just to be clear, the judge hasn’t decided if he will preside over the trial on May 17. We asked the court for more clarity, and we will update this if we get a response.
