Andalusia and Morocco from Barcelona Tour

Andalusia and Morocco from Barcelona

Everything was pretty good, the guides were great. My only major problem was that they changed our final day in Madrid to a final day in Toledo. I was really looking forward to Madrid as part of the trip, as advertised. The reason it was moved to Toledo was because of a prescheduled doctor's convention. I guess the hotels in Madrid were taken. This information was known to the public prior to me booking the trip. A better run company would known that the conference was taking place before advertising that Madrid was a final destination.

Andalusia with Cordoba, Costa del Sol and Toledo from Madrid

Excellent. We had rain throughout our tour but our tour guide, Carmen was wonderful. She made our tour easy and comfortable. She made sure to have English speaking local guide for us who do not speak Spanish. Our tour bus driver had amazing driving skills.

Northern Spain and Galicia from Madrid Tour

Northern Spain and Galicia from Madrid

Good tour but more information required prior to departure. We only found out basics such as itinerary details, were to depart from and specifics after emailing Julia travel direct several times. English spoken by second guide was basic and we missed a lot of info and one optional tour entirety - again that could have been outlined in an email previously so we had information and time to decide on options.

Andalusia and the Mediterranean Coast with Barcelona from Madrid Tour

Andalusia and the Mediterranean Coast with Barcelona from Madrid

The Tour was good, Marica the guide very well organized everything, she is friendly, funny. Juan the driver was an amazing driver, he took us everywhere safely, I don't know how he can park that large bus. The hotels were nice, clen, the breakfast's were good, and the city guides were knowledgeable, they know the history very well. It was a tour the I learned about Spain a lot. Julia travel organized this trip well so it was very enjoyable.

Julia tours needs to provide more details regarding the tour. Where are the hotels? How central are they, what are you getting for a hotel upgrade. The TourRadar app is good. I liked the ease of the messaging with the tour company even their response wasn’t always timely.

We spent a lot of time going from 2-4 different hotels to pick up people in the bus. Never received the 4 dinners we were told we would have when we signed up. Wished we could have just stayed with the same tour guide! Marina was so amazing and took such good care of us! She made sure we had equal English speaking time as Spanish. And gave us great directions and instructions when we went into a new city.

I've used Julia 4 years ago when I first visited Monserrat The office was located in Placa Catalunya; as city centric as you can get. This location is a bit harder to find: located in lower level of Estacio del Nord. One of a few bus stations in Barcelona. How obscure is this address for Julia? Extremely since I stayed at Ilunion Auditori hotel the first visit which is a five minute walk to the agency! Who knew? I'm unsure if Ilunion knew because I asked them how to get to the Plata Catalunya address.. insane. Here's some positives: I enjoyed the Monserrat tour immensely for two reasons: a visit to Monserrat is a must, a beautiful mountain top monastery which looks across the Pyrenees( France). And, this is big, my tour guide was amazing! So, as you know when you book a tour it's location AND knowledgeable tour guides! Thus, I booked Julia for my combination tour to Girona and Figueres(Dali's hometown) The Girona tour guide was excellent, wherever she guided us to she knew everything there was about Girona's historical content. Amazing! Gave us great recommendations as to what to do in our free time and where to find best local desserts, Xiu Xiu is a local dessert: think croissant with custard. Here's the negative: I knew the minute our tour guide repeated a second time in English and Spanish the following: " You must try the Xiu Xiu in Girona" " When we get to Dali's museum, you must open your mind, it's crazy.." She was the guide for the Dali museum.. let me tell you how embarrassing it is for a rep who rehearsed the two Dali paintings and one exhibit that lasted an hour. Which left us with 90 minutes to roam the museum by ourselves with no audio guide. If you've visited this museum you know it's quite large. No other expertise to guide you.. wanna talk about crazy! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this agency for any tours. It's either the pandemic affected the hiring of expert guides or there is a sufficient lack of training. I'm not trying to ball out any guide but one can't hire a novice to explain Salvatore Dali's works, it just doesn't work. I'm still scratching my head... When you charge 82 euros you're basically charging for bus transportation, driver and a novice guide. That's it folks! You might as well take Renfe to Girona and Figueres, study and review where to go and what you will see. I also did that with my cousin in Portugal. Here's some recommendations: find free walking tours. I have done that in Prague, Austria and now Barcelona. The guide who guided my walking tour through the Gothic Quarter was excellent! As for Julia, please update your Yelp listings: you no longer have the office in Las Balmes and you are not in La Segrada Familia, you are BEHIND the church. Also, give better directions to your location in Nord. This is what I was told: get off at Arc de Triomf ( Napols exit) and bus station is right there. Not! Here's the real directions: leave Metro station, cross the street, walk almost 2 blocks to the station that says Estacio del Nord take elevator or stairs down to Julia. There!

Julia 90 was not a good tour. We took them in Barcelona for the Montserrat 4.5 hour (half day) tour. The organization was terrible. The "tour guide" wasn't a guide at all, basically badly dressed, liked he'd just come from the ghetto, dirty looking with bad hair. They should've given us all the tickets and map when we got our ticket before getting on the bus. Instead, when we get there and told to Checkin, it's a wait in line...then wait for the bus in 2 disorganized lines with people pushing in to get on the bus first, then Spanish and English bus lines (and tours) mixed up. Then wait on the bus... then get to Monserrat with hardly ANY tour guide info along the way, just that this is Catalan and we'll get to Montserrat and it's red rock, . We get to Montserrat an have to wait for the cog train... get to the top have have to wait again for the tour guide to go get all the tickets and maps...then wait while he tell us we'll be on our own (what the F@$* happened to the guided tour?) and to give us maps and a ticket to go into a gift shop. Then wait for him to hand it out. Follow him to get in line wait to join a chain line to go through a building to see the black Mary. Then enter a courtyard and can be on our own, or go for a hike. No history about the place, not intro or n the bus on the way there when we had AN HOUR ride waiting for history and info and NO guided tour there. Pathetic. Use Barcelona Touristic instead!

Terrible hop on hop off bus experience. Double decker bus is fine. Their ticketing is the most inefficient operation possible. Everyone in the world uses tickets via phones, they insist on paper. Paper got unusable and we lost our second day unless we paid again. Do not recommend.

Photo of Tony H.

We booked through Expedia to the Montserrat tour hard to find their meeting point in bus station. Tour was ok collected radios and gave free time told to meet at cafeteria they left us and another couple when we called told our fault we were at the wrong meeting spot stranded an hour away from Barcelona then tried to cancel the tour with same people that stranded us for the next day we're told no it was less than 24 hours. So we pissed away 100 for that no way we give you two chances to screw us. Expedia gets a 1 star as well they are no help basically to F off by them as well

The last thing I wanted to do was stand in line in that Barcelona summer heat and humidity, so I knew I had to book a skip-the-line tour for La Sagrada Familia. I got on Expedia and booked a tour with Julia Travel, and had a great experience! The office is conveniently located literally across the street from the cathedral, and check in was quick and easy. The tour itself was great. Our tour guide was both informative and funny, and I feel like I really learned a lot about the past and present history of the cathedral. Getting to skip lines and not have to melt in the sun was pretty cool as well, lol. I definitely recommend this agency, especially for La Sagrada Familia tours.

julia travel s.l barcelona

Be warned! Julie Travel is snake oil! There is nothing special about their tours. And they are extremely sneaky just to get your money. My tour with them to see the La Sagrada was beyond disappointing and i'm now out 65 dollars for the most basic, boring tour that didn't even include access to the towers. You can get access to establishments for a far cheaper rate if you can find the attraction's actual website. The thing is though Julie Travel pays to have top billing on all websites and then uses language that makes it seems as if they are the actual attraction website. Then then proceed to charge WAY more for access. I'm embarrassed I was bamboozled by them. And with this behavior, of course they don't care about a traveler's experience. They just want your $$$$. But that's just the general note in them- it gets worse. Just trying to find my tour was a NIGHTMARE. I bought a ticket online to tour the La Sagrada and went through Travelocity- it looked as if I was getting a direct tour with the church- but upon arrival I was told no and that I had to find the Julie travel office. Around the whole church are tons of signs and booths to help people but not one was Julia Travel and no one really knew where it was. 35 minutes after my tour start time I finally found the EMPTY office where 4 women sat behind a desk that couldn't be bothered to look up and ask if they could help me. They all looked annoyed and beat down. I had to ask them if they were free to help. The woman that finally decided to help could've cared less about the situation. She said i missed my tour and it was my fault for not reading the fine print of the email. Their confirmation email they send through states in super big letters in the subject and throughout the email, "SKIP THE LINE." It doesn't boldly say "find out office first" The woman says she can get me on the next tour but I have to pay a fee of 19 euros as a disciplinary action!!! And she knows I'll do it because it's the La Sagrada and i'm traveling and left without much choice. They bank on people to follow the capital letters and direction of the email so they ultimately miss the start time and have to pay an extra 19 more euros to get on the next tour. It's such an abhorrent scam. The woman was also so rude and could've cared less- obviously they train them to be such. And remember- they did nothing in terms of having someone from their company in the crowd by the church to help people find them. Like a person with a sign. Instead their office was down the street And as mentioned when I finally got in on the next tour- it was the most basic and boring tour. It's so embarrassing that La Sagrada ended up like this, with all this people that just abuse it for $$$.

Photo of Toshi I.

I highly recommend booking tickets for Familia Sagrada and Parc Guell online before arrival as tickets can sell out fast. I chose this tour based on description and not by the name of the tour company but this was through Viator. We arrived too early and had enough time to get a quick breakfast. When we returned, we waited. I never heard our number (Group 1) called. Luckily my husband noticed a group walk out. I quickly followed them asking if they were Group 1. One of the tour group members said yes and she also complained that they quietly announced out group number and we both agreed this is poor customer service. Overall, this tour was good. Our local tour guide gave us great historical information which would have been much better than aimlessly wandering around. So I recommend a tour package for Sagrada Familia but these packages are both or miss. I think if this group was better about communicating, this would have been a more exceotional experience.

Photo of Glexi G.

We purchased tickets to tour Familia Sagrada a couple of days before, and arrived at Julia's on time per the confirmation email we received, only to be told that they were booked and that the third party vendor we purchased the tickets from tried to contact us but because we were traveling overseas we did not receive their call. Julia's offered us no alternative tour dates or times, NO EMPATHY, basically blamed us for being unavailable by phone because we chose not to be roaming throughout our entire European trip.. and told us to contact the vendor for a refund. When we contacted the vendor they told us they had no information on file that Julia's had overbooked their tours and that as far as they were concerned our tickets were good. This place sucks. 2.5 stars for a reason.

Photo of The Dude A.

Worst travel company I've dealt with. They don't help with any issues and are rude to all their customers. We had an issue with our ticket and went to their office. They were so rude I asked the person for her name and she refused saying "in Spain we don't have to do that", which is usually code for "I'm being horrible but I think I'm smart so you can't report me". She's mid/late twenties, dark hair, and works the front desk at the main office. Their business model revolves around stealing from tourists, then charging you to make problems go away. Stay away at all costs, especially if booking through viatour.

Photo of Rita P.

Book through Viator thinking it will be reliable but this agency was not up to par when it comes to service and directing. When you go to the office and they pull up our name all the tours booked should show and they should hand us the tickets then. We had to go again to another office to pick up tickets for Sagrada Fimilia and keep the tour guide waiting. The tour guide was awesome. She explained all the details of the church.

The Perfect Barcelona Travel Guide

Barcelona – one of my favorite and most vibrant cities I’ve ever been to. From the incredible art, history, beaches, museums, and countless restaurants- you will never run out of things to do while visiting. This lively city located in northeastern Spain truly has something for everyone. It is the perfect vacation destination for families, solo travelers, couples, or even friends looking for a fun nightlife scene. Whatever your reason for visiting is, you won’t be disappointed. Let’s dive into this complete Barcelona travel guide, where I share everything you need to know before visiting. I will tell you the best time for visiting, fun activities, must-see landmarks, pros and cons of Barcelona, and everything else in between. Enjoy!

Table of Contents:

  • Best time to go

La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain

Best time to go:

This will all depend on what you plan to do while visiting Barcelona. If you plan to make this trip a “beach vacation”, the summer months through October are great for visiting the beaches. But you should also know that Barcelona is very humid, so walking around and sightseeing during the hottest part of the year can get a bit uncomfortable. Late fall or early spring still provide comfortable weather, warm enough to enjoy rooftop bars, sightseeing, and walking around for a few hours a day.

If you plan your visit around the holidays, Barcelona has a great Christmas market that starts the first week of December and lasts through the first week of January.

El Born, Barcelona, Spain

Getting there:

We flew into Barcelona’s main airport (BCN) and then took a taxi from the airport to our Airbnb. Depending on the distance and time of day, the taxi will cost you around 35-45 euros.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a cheaper route, you can hop on the train outside of terminal 2 and it will take you into the city center. The R2 Nord Train connects BCN Airport to the city of Barcelona, leaving every 30 minutes. This journey takes approximately 25 minutes, depending on the final station in Barcelona downtown and costs 5.15 euros.

The city also offers a “Hola Barcelona” metro pass if you plan to use the train often. Prices for a 48-hour pass start at 18 euros and increase to 42 euros for a 120-hour / 5-day pass.

Barcelona, Spain

I recommend a minimum of 2 days, but I highly suggest staying longer if you have the time for it. Two days in Barcelona will give you an overall feel for the city and to see the major landmarks. Three to four days will allow time for beach days, more ticketed attractions, getting lost in the city on foot, and trying out just some of the amazing restaurants the city has to offer!

Best things to do in Barcelona:

Beach day: At least one beach day in Barcelona is a must! Before visiting, I heard very mixed reviews about the beaches in Barcelona. During our trip, I found the beaches to be clean, crowded, but not too crowded, and beautiful views. Barceloneta Beach is definitely the most popular, as it is the closest to the city. We visited Mar Bella Beach, which is along the same strip, just further down.

julia travel s.l barcelona

  • Park Güell: This park is one of the largest green spaces in Barcelona and offers a beautiful view overlooking the city. You need to purchase a ticket to enter, but it is worth it. Admission was around 10 euros and you can purchase online ahead of time here.

Park Güell Barcelona, Spain

Boqueria Market: Boqueria Market is a food market with several vendors selling all different types of food- sandwiches, churros, tacos, candy, fruit, etc. They also have butchers where you can purchase fresh meat and seafood.

Boqueria Market Barcelona, Spain

Cathedrals:

La Sagrada Familia: One of the most iconic landmarks to see while visiting Barcelona. The temple started being built in 1882 and now over 140 years later, there is still construction going on. The history of the temple is fascinating. You can read more about the history here . Tickets cost 26 euros to enter the church, and they have more options available if you choose to do a guided tour or go to the top of one of the towers. The tickets can be purchased here . Be sure to buy your tickets in advance, as they sell out quickly and are rarely available for the day of purchase.

La Sagrada Familia Barcelona, Spain

  • Barcelona Cathedral: Whether you go inside the Cathedral or not, it is definitely worth the visit seeing it from the outside at least. Tickets cost 14 euros to enter and can be purchased here .

Barcelona Cathedral Spain

Neighborhoods / areas worth visiting:

Stroll around the Gothic Quarter: The Gothic Quarter is one of the most beautiful areas in Barcelona. Filled with amazing architecture, good restaurants and shops. I highly suggest making your way to this neighborhood and just getting lost in the streets.

Explore the El Born neighborhood: El Born is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Barcelona. It is an old historic quarter located in downtown Barcelona which is filled with amazing restaurants, shops, museums, and so much history. This neighborhood is also a great area to stay in during your trip!

El Born, Barcelona, Spain

Museums / Exhibits:

  • Casa Batlló: Located in the city center, Casa Batlló was designed by Antoni Gaudí, and is considered to be one of his masterpieces. Tickets start out at 29 euros to enter and can be found here . A general visit lasts one hour and 15 minutes. Inside the Casa Batlló you’ll find a museum like experience, beautiful architecture, art, color, and a memorable experience.

Casa Batlló Barcelona, Spain

  • Casa Milà: Cultural and social usage: it is a cultural center that hosts exhibitions, conferences and other activities. Residential usage: there are still rented residential apartments in the building. It was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudí and was built between 1906 and 1912. Tickets start out at 25 euros and can be purchased ahead of time here .
  • Moco Museum: This is a stunning modern art museum located in El Born.

Casa Milà Barcelona, Spain

Must try restaurants in Barcelona:

Billy Brunch: The perfect breakfast spot! They have everything from pancakes, avocado toast, English style breakfasts and so much more. I suggest making a reservation, as this is a popular place and is always packed.

Kilele: Another great option for breakfast that will not be as busy as Billy Brunch. They are a Colombian restaurant and offer options like arepas, acai bowls, eggs benedict and more.

  • Nudes: A trendy little coffee shop with smoothies, sandwiches, and other small bites. Great option if you’re looking for a quick or light breakfast.

Kilele Barcelona

Feroz : This restaurant offers amazing, shareable appetizers, steaks, burgers, seafood and more. The ambience of Feroz was one of my favorites! If you have a late dinner, the restaurant turns into a lounge / nightlife scene later on.

Honest Greens : A great option for lunch if you’re looking for something quick and healthy!

Monster Sushi : If you’re in the mood for sushi while in Barcelona , this is the place to go!

  • La Dama: Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine with many seafood and meat dishes.

Feroz Barcelona

Paco Meralgo: A delicious Michelin Star restaurant located in L’Antiga.

Bar Cañete: A popular restaurant in Barcelona offering very traditional dishes.

Chök (for pastries / dessert): This is a popular pastry shop in Spain and I highly suggest grabbing at least 1 dessert while visiting. You won’t be disappointed .

Chök Barcelona, Spain

Must try bars / roof top bars:

Barcelona EDITION: Located on the rooftop of the Mariott Bonvoy, the EDITION offers breathtaking views of the city.

Terrassa Panoramica at Hotel Colon: In the heart of the Gothic Quarter, this rooftop bar looks out at the Barcelona Cathedral.

Noxe: This very trendy bar is not technically a “rooftop”, but with its all-glass windows, it still has amazing views to offer. We came here for drinks just after sunset, but I highly suggest staying for when it turns into a nightclub!

Carpe Diem (club / drinks): Carpe Diem is just about everything you want it to be. Enjoy sushi on the beach during the day, their restaurant during dinner hours, or come late at night to experience the nightlife scene.

Hotel la Florida: The perfect spot to enjoy a pool, lounge, and cocktails with a beautiful view.

El Balconet Del Mirablau: A beautiful outfit bar that sits overtop the city.

Terraza del Sercotel Rosellón: Looking out to the Sagrada Familia, this rooftop bar offers one of the best views in Barcelona.

Noxe Barcelona, Spain

How to get around the city:

As I mentioned earlier, the Hola Barcelona pass offers the most cost-effective way to get around the city.

Although there are plenty of taxis, sometimes it can still be hard to flag one down because of the city’s busyness. Uber was previously banned to protect the taxi fleet and public transport, but you can now use the app while in the city. Getting them can also be difficult at times due to demand.

Additionally, we also walked to many places! We always prefer walking as much as we can in any city. In my opinion, it is the best way to see the city and get familiar with your surroundings. We would walk from our Airbnb to places 45 minutes away and were able to come across things we wouldn’t have otherwise.

Barcelona, Spain

Pros & Cons:

-There are so many things to do in the city- museums, famous cathedrals and landmarks, beaches, rooftop bars, food markets, shopping, and much more.

-A very young and vibrant city.

-You can mix and match your days with sightseeing and beach days.

-Countless delicious restaurants and rooftop bars with breathtaking scenery.

-Great transportation / easy to get around.

-If you’re visiting in the summer months- it gets very hot and very humid.

-Beware of pick pocketers. Barcelona is known to be one of the worst cities for pickpocketing.

-Major tourist attractions are likely to sell out tickets days in advance.

Barcelona, Spain

Destination Services (DS)

Destination Services (DS) Spain, Portugal and Morocco-18 day tour It wasn’t until we had paid our full fee that we received some paperwork which let us know that the tour was actually to be run by Julia Travel. I queried this as I had not wanted to book our tour with this company, and was informed that they get Julia Travel (JT) to organise accommodation and travel (which to me is the entire tour). The tour was ok is some parts but extremely disappointing in others. The group changes, numbers get up to 62, the bus is hot and crowded, but the biggest disappointment is for English speaking passengers. At times, especially on the Morocco section, we were left confused and not being given directions at all. For example, the bus pulled up and directions were only given in Spanish, so we didn’t know why people were getting off or what we had to do. We certainly did not get the amount of information that Spanish speakers got., and what we did get was difficult to understand. Many of the local guided tours were very basic – a lot of time spent getting off and on the bus to see one monument then move on. Information given was really not very interesting. The information given once we got to our hotel was poor – nothing written, only brief explanations of where you could eat or what is good to see, and this was given quickly and very hard to understand. Most of the older passengers just stayed in the hotel because they didn’t know where else to go. This was the same when we arrived somewhere and had free time to explore – most (especially English speakers) were left confused and not really knowing where they should go. Our itinerary for Morocco was changed last minute – which meant we had 2 nights in Casablanca instead of 1xCasablanca 1xMarrakesh. This meant that we spent over 7 hours in the bus to visit Marrakesh for just a couple of hours. It was really rushed, and we really only saw the market and a bite to eat. When I queried the change with Destination Services (DS) they told me I had to contact Julia Travel (JT) for further information. I spent a lot of my holiday time calling and texting JT to give them all the information, only to be told I had to contact my Travel agent (DS). It was very frustrating and DS were dismissive and at times rude when dealing with them. They had a real ‘don’t care’ attitude. Having spent 2 nights in Casablanca the only places we got to set foot on were a Mosque and the hotel. Very disappointing. It seemed like a market and mosques were all that we got to see in Morocco. We felt it was such a waste of time and money for us, being so rushed and so much time spent on the bus/ferry to get there. The guide for this section gave repetitive, boring information that really did not add value to the trip. The accommodation might be at 4 star hotels but we were often given rooms that were not up to scratch, needing work, overlooking a carpark or brick wall or in a basement section of the hotel. I don’t recommend this trip, especially for English speakers, and I am very disappointed with Destination Services – I’m really not sure what service they provide except to take your money, outsource and then wipe their hands.

Avoid Julia Travel

Would advise anyone who is thinking of booking with Julia Travel to avoid this company at all costs. Traveled to Tangier with this company to our regret as the “tour “is mainly a sales trip for carpets and argon oil.Tangier is a beautiful clean city and had more to offer than Julia Travel offered us. On our return to Spain and eventually to Wyndham Resort we were abandoned at side of the road to be told (which was a lie) that a shuttle bus had been arranged for us to take us back to our accommodation. We are fortunate that Wyndham is a reputable company and they came to our assistance after getting hold of the night manager who arranged transport back to our accommodation.

Julia Travel lied to us

Viator booked our excursion to Caminito del Rey, Spain, with Julia Travel. What a mistake! On the day of the excursion, we drove 1-1/2 hours to the designated bus stop. As other tour busses were lining up, I noticed that there wasn't one for Julia Travel. I called and was told the excursion was cancelled. "Because of yesterday's heavy rains, Caminito del Rey is closed down. You can ask for a full refund or try next week (when we were heading back to the U.S)." So we opted for a full refund, which we had to do through Viator. It turned out that Caminito del Rey was not close after all, and other tour companies were running on schedule. That meant Julia Travel lied to us. Fortunately, we were able to join visitanddo.com as they had last-minute cancellations. I highly recommend vistanddo.com!

SCAMMERS who ruined my trip to barcelona

I stayed in Barcelona to visit the sagrada familia. Ultimately for nothing and now you have wasted my time, money and energy. I neatly bought my tickets for a tour guide at Julia travel via get your guide. That's how I received my tickets and confirmation. After I checked out of the hotel, I went to wait for the tour that would be at 3:00 PM. I was also there in plenty of time, after I wanted to register at the desk, the person behind the desk indicated that there was no room left. Few seconds later the same is told to another person and that the only option is to move the booking to another day or request a refund. This is absolutely disgusting, without any understanding that I booked an extra day hotel for this visit and also only waited for the tour after checking out of the hotel. After this I would immediately leave back to the Netherlands. I think this is absolutely NOT normal and really NOT possible. And then also that it becomes my problem that it supposedly went wrong with get your guide. While they already have a ready-made form that they are so-called 'Sorry' that there was a problem when booking the ticket. which is that they do this more often. This is my complaint and you should NOT BOOK at Julia Travel they are scammers. I want to get my full amount back. You ruined my trip to barcelona

Disorganized

We did not choose Julià Travels as it was chosen for us by Exoticca Travel when we booked our Portugal & Spain tour through Exoticca. The Portugal tour was completely managed by Exottica which was ok but Julià Travel in Spain was a disaster. This is a one disorganized company; they made a lot of mistakes in the tour/plan. They gave two people the same train ticket (Madrid -> Barcelona) and both of us had to deal with the pissed off train conductor. I had to reach out to Exoticca and they found their mistake and sent the right ticket via whatsapp. Though it was fixed half way during the journey, it's scary and stressful to say the least. Unlike Portugal tours where they come to your hotel to pick up, Julia Travel wants us to come to some meeting point without any clear address or direction that you can get an uber or taxi so we ended up missing part of the tour on one day and the entire tour on Barcelona because there was no taxi or uber we can find from the hotel they put us on. So we ended up booking another tour on our own, again stress, additional cost etc. What is the point of booking a tour company if you had to run around and catch-up with them using the worst possible directions, in Spanish to make it even worse. Overall, it was a bad experience with Julià Travel.

Scam alert - Julia Travel. Buyer Beware.

Scam alert - Julia Travel. Buyer Beware. Julia travel are responsible for ruining my Barcelona holiday .Avoid using them at all costs. I purchased tickets for the Barcelona stadium tour , and Julia travel refused to email me the tickets. They advised I had to collect the tickets in person, however, the tickets were purchased online at 16:45 and their office closed at 17:00. I told them its literally impossible for me to travel to their office in 15 minutes before closing. They said I can get the tickets the next day, but this was no use as my flights home were the following afternoon. Thus, the next day I got a taxi to their office and a member of staff who was all smiles and very nice said " no problem I completely understand, i will leave a note on file and rest assured you will get a refund of 72 euro". I then arrive home back in Ireland, and two days later I follow-up only to be told I'm not getting a refund...... In short, Julia travel are aware it was not possible for me to go on the tour, I made them aware of this immediately. They then lied about a refund, and only told me it was denied after I arrive back home. My advice to other travelers: I used many tour operators before, and I don't like leaving negative reviews but I can honestly say Julia travel has been the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I hope this review helps others avoid this company. Even if I don't get a refund, I'm happy if I can help others avoid this company.

Barcelona City tour - No one answers to your mail - Worst support

4 weeks ago, on 29.08. I had bought 2 tickets online at The homepage of Barcelona City Tour for a day ticket for the sightseeing bus. The total price was 54 EUR. After the purchase, I did not receive any e-mails with the tickets. I waited a few minutes, checked spam and then called a service number (+34933176454). The person on the phone was very nice and explained that there were problems with sending the tickets at the moment. She advised me to send my request by email to get a refund. The same day I sent an email the one I got named. I attached a screenshot of the payment and clearly described the issue. There was no reply from Julia Travel. I wrote further emails on 4 September, 16 September and 22 September. For the last two I also included a mail found on their website in the mails sent. After 4 weeks and 4 mails to 2 mail addresses still no answer. I understand that sometimes something doesn't work and no tickets are sent. But paying for something you can't use and then not getting an answer after 4 weeks is simply not acceptable. I don't understand how a company with such poor customer service can act economically in the long term. I am disappointed in Julia Travel, the employees who saw the email and willingly did not reply. The tour was good and can recommend it, but please do not buy tickets online. There is a risk that you will not get them sent to you. And no one will respond to your attempts to contact them.

This is the office of a tour company and unlike the office at Catalunya, their office here near Sagrada Familia doesn't have either toilets or free wifi!
