The journey of the sperm to the egg

The journey of the sperm to the egg

The path of the spermatozoa to reach the egg is not a simple one. This path is divided into a phase in the male reproductive system and another in the female reproductive system.

In the case of the male, the sperm travel from the testicle to the urethra. When vaginal penetration occurs, the sperm continue their journey to the fallopian tubes. This is where the egg is found and the fastest and most capable sperm will fertilize it.

Thanks for spending the time putting these resources together. My class really liked the starter task and the rest was a nice unfussy way to present some potentially embarrassing material. The pregnancy lesson also looks like it could be useful so this has tempted me to buy the bundle :-)

OnSpecScience

Yes, "unfussy" is definitely the way to go with this topic. As I tell the kids, it's just science. I may be biased but the pregnancy lesson usually works well for me so please do try it!
