There’s nothing more frustrating than having to untangle your many cables after stuffing them in your carry-on. Avoid that hot mess by packing a cable organizer to keep everything in order while you’re not using (or charging) your gadgets.

A travel backpack is one of the easiest ways to keep everything they need at hand (purse, wallet, phone, keys, technology, passport, you name it) safe in one place. This backpack is not only perfectly compartmentalized to hold their laptop and other belongings, but it also opens from the top, giving the feel of a tote without having to carry it on one shoulder.
The best part? It even has a built-in USB port so they can recharge their devices while traveling (charging cord not included).
One by Sonicare Battery Toothbrush
A toothbrush that comes with a case is non-negotiable and with a 3-month battery life, this Philips electric toothbrush is one they’ll want to use at home, too.
Travel Blanket and Pillow
Sure, they could bring a blanket from home, but it certainly isn’t as compact as a travel one — and does it zip up to double as a pillow? I didn’t think so.
Seriously, a travel blanket is truly game-changing, even on short trips with multiple people. They never know who will want the AC blasting while they're cold, so it’s always best to be prepared.
Remind them to bring along this travel essential so their dirty laundry doesn’t pile up on the floor, or worse, mingle with the clean clothes in their luggage. This compact laundry bag is especially important if your recipient is the type of traveler who lives out of their suitcase for the duration of the trip.
Since traveling with glass bottles is risky, and buying individual travel-size products can get expensive quickly, having reusable silicone travel containers is definitely the best option.
This travel essential is also much more environmentally friendly than buying TSA-approved products in plastic bottles every time they go on a trip. Saving money and the environment is definitely a win-win.
Travel Shoe Bags
Perhaps one of the few downsides to trekking around a new city, state, or even country is taking those dirty shoes off and packing them away with your clothes. Safe to say that nobody wants the dirt and germs from the bottom of their feet to rub all over their otherwise clean items!
These shoe bags are the perfect travel essential for keeping your recipient's filthy soles off their silky drawers when packing before or after a trip.
Packing Cubes (6 Pieces)
There’s nothing worse than laying out everything you want to pack for a trip and then realizing that you don’t have the room. Cubes are an easy way to keep your recipient's suitcase organized and help them free up space for the essentials.
Even better? This set comes with shoe sleeves, so they can avoid having their dirty shoes come into contact with their clean clothes.
PowerStation Portable Charger
This handy little device lets your recipient avoid having to fight over outlets on their vacation. Now everyone can juice up their gadget at the same time. It’s on them to remember all the cords, though.
Vacuum Storage Bags Variety Pack
If packing cubes just aren’t cutting it, compression bags are the solution for your recipient. These ones by Spacesaver work with any vacuum and come in a variety of different sizes for their packing needs.
Portable Perfume Spray Bottle
With this travel essential, they’ll be able to pack their favorite scents, while leaving the bulky bottle at home. This set includes two portable perfume spray bottles, each lightweight and easy to fill.
From serums to earrings to medication, these magnetic capsules stick together and make traveling with every step of their skincare routine less of a hassle. You can customize the color and label of each capsule for a personalized gift.
Pack This! Pad Packing List Notepad
The notepad will be just the thing they turn to when they know they’re forgetting something, but just can’t place it. From important prescriptions to insect repellent, it lists all the items they’ll need to remember to have on hand for a stress-free trip.
Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask
Whether your recipient is traveling on a long-haul flight or relaxing poolside with a cold drink in hand, this travel essential will boost their skin’s moisture in just 15 minutes for a skincare moment even on vacation.
Made with red algae extract, this single use sheet mask from Tatcha will hydrate their skin, leaving them with a luminous complexion.
Between the itchiness and swollen, red appearance, bug bites are the last things anyone wants to deal with, especially while traveling. The Bug Bite Thing will remove the irritant from their skin to reduce itching and swelling. No creams or chemicals necessary.
Original Detangler Hair Brush
Detangling post-pool hair is the last thing they’ll want to be doing on vacation. The detangling brush works on dry or wet hair and has flexible bristles that will gently loosen knots and reduce breakage.
Instax Mini 11 Instant Camera
Most people have fallen into the habit of just using their phones to capture photos while traveling, but there’s nothing quite like having a print of all of your favorite memories.
This instant camera has automatic exposure and a one-touch selfie mode for capturing the perfect vacation selfie with ease. It comes in fun colors to match your recipient’s aesthetic.
AirPods Pro (2nd Generation)
The latest AirPods Pro are still sweat- and water-resistant, but also have improved noise cancellation, an extended battery life, and different ear tips for a custom fit that’ll keep them in place. They're great for a long run on the beach and blocking out noisy passengers on their flight.
KN95 5-Ply Breathable Filter Disposable Masks
No matter the destination, these best-selling, disposable KN95 masks are a travel essential. They’re filtered yet breathable, and the black makes them a touch more elevated than standard surgical masks. Keep them germ-free on the go with a mask storage case .
Travel Hand Sanitizer (6-Pack)
Let’s be real — does anyone go anywhere without this anymore? I hope not. Traveling, of course, should be no different. If they skip out on some of the other items in this list, don’t let hand sanitizer be one of those missing things.

Ultimate World Travel Packing Essentials You Will Need
By: Author Angela Price
Posted on Last updated: October 14, 2023
Are you planning a world trip and want an ultimate packing list of all the most important travel products you need? I’ve got you covered! This long term travel packing list of essential items will help you have a wonderful time as you traverse the globe.
After travelling for over 35 years, I have realised that I can’t leave home without particular essential world travel packing products.
Whether it’s a city break to Europe or backpacking around Asia, my travel essentials will always come with me.
Here is my list of all the world travel essentials I recommend packing for a round the world trip . Remember that while everything on this international travel packing checklist may not be necessary for your journey, I used them all on mine!
I haven’t listed a mobile phone or a camera as I can’t imagine anyone travelling without either of them!
Table of Contents
What To Pack For An Around The World Trip: All you need to know
Electrical products for a rtw trip, 1. portable phone charger.
If, like me, you take lots of photographs on your phone, you will genuinely benefit from a portable charger. The last thing you want to happen is for your phone to die with no way to charge it until you return to your accommodation.
Although my iPhone’s battery is good, bringing a backup always makes sense. This portable charger is one of the important travel things to pack and has got me out of a few sticky situations when my battery has died when I need to capture a particular image.
Another excellent charger is this one:
2. Octopus Multi-Charger Adaptor
This time-saving device is perfect for charging all your gadgets simultaneously.
The unique 4-in-1 Apple and Android adaptor allows you to charge your phone, camera and tablet on the go.
No longer will you have to wait for one of your gadgets to fill up on juice before you can revive the next one. This great little travelling companion scores high on the list of important travel products.
3. Universal Travel Adaptor
Never assume that your hotel room will come complete with a travel adapter, as it usually won’t and asking to borrow one from reception doesn’t always work.
Instead, add this to your list of important travel products and ensure you go on your trip with a global travel adaptor that can simultaneously recharge multiple appliances.
4. Phone Camera Lens Attachment
I love taking photographs to capture my journey, and I only use my phone to take my photos.
I have an iPhone 12, and to be honest, the photos are easily equivalent in quality to using a professional camera.
The bonus is that it slips easily into my pocket, and I don’t have to drag a large camera around. A photo camera lens attachment allows me to manipulate my photos and take high-quality images.
5. Portable Speaker
Music on the go is what we all want when we are travelling.
With your favourite tunes playing while you lie on the beach or in the water (it’s waterproof), and later when you chill out in your hotel room, this portable speaker is great for sound and quality.
It is a luxury if you are travelling light, but being without music is like being without sunlight.
6. Selfie Stick
Love or hate a selfie stick, they are handy in certain situations.
Small to carry, they don’t take up much space but allow you to capture some aerial photographs without other people in them.
They also change a photo’s composition from close up to distant and are perfect if travelling alone to capture great memories.
7. Luggage Scale
Never be told by airport check-in that your suitcase is too heavy. Invest in a luggage scale and find out if all those travel souvenirs have taken you over your weight limit.
It is much better to weigh your case and sort out content distribution in the comfort of your home rather than on the airport floor.
8. Wireless Earbuds
The perfect travel buddy, these easy-to-store earbuds make music on the go so easy to listen to.
Fashion essentials for an around the world packing list
9. havaianas flip flops.
This global Brazilian brand is the go-to company for the perfect holiday flip-flop.
Use them in the shower, on the beach, and to slip on in your accommodation.
In tons of different designs, my favourite ones have butterfly graphics.
10. Leisure Suit
As a traveller, I know that when I take long-haul flights, I want an outfit on my clothing packing list that is comfortable and breathable.
When I travelled around the world, I was a familiar sight in my slouchy tracksuit and comfy trainers.
Once on the plane, I felt comfortable and free, with no jeans and tight tops restricting my movement, and when the lights dimmed, I was already in an outfit designed like a pair of pyjamas!
11. Walking Shoes
Comfortable walking shoes are one of your most important travel products.
With the amount of walking you will be doing on your trip, you must have comfortable and supportive shoes to see you through.
Make sure your shoes have been worn in; don’t buy a new pair only to discover they are the most uncomfortable things you have ever worn.
Take more than one pair to give your feet (and shoes) a chance to breathe. White trainers are a great choice to go with any outfit.
12. Walking Socks for Trainers
No one wants blistered feet, so a good pair of walking socks is high on the list of requirements when travelling.
Cushioned at the toe and heel will be your best choice as it will protect the most vulnerable parts of your feet against rubbing and chafing.
A scarf might not seem like one of your important travel products, but it is really useful. This one piece of seemingly unassuming material holds down a multitude of purposes.
Use as a fashion accessory (obvious) to use around the neck, in the hair or as a sarong and a disease barrier (so now you are interested).
Yes, I have often taken flights where other passengers are coughing and sneezing, and I have sprinkled some lavender oil (or perfume of choice) on the scarf and wrapped it around my mouth and nose, and hey presto, I am protected.
14. Waterproof Packable Jacket
The weather around the world is unpredictable! Pack a lightweight rain jacket!
World Travel Packing – Personal Comfort/Care Essentials
15. eye mask.
Who can sleep with the lights on? Well, not me, that’s for sure, so I always take an eye mask.
Plane travel can be more bearable if you can make your environment dark rather than the glare of overhead lighting, keeping your mind active.
16. Ear Plugs
This is one of my most important things to take on a trip, and for a good reason; the world is very noisy.
Without earplugs, my life when travelling would be miserable. I am such a light sleeper that the tiniest noise will wake me even more if I am in an unfamiliar setting.
These earplugs are so inexpensive but make a world of difference to me.
17. Travel Pillow
Sleeping on a plane is an art form in its own right. Positions and manoeuvres are tried to allow a comfortable sleep, but nothing works for me.
The TravelRest ultimate travel pillow might fix that with its ergonomic shape and ease of use.
To arrive fresh and alert after an international flight is worth taking a chance on one of these important travel products.
18. Hand Sanitizer
You can enjoy your travels without transferring hand bacteria into your mouth with one squirt of this anti-bacterial germ killer. Bacteria live everywhere, in foreign climates and at home, and they love to multiply and attack.
Currency notes, door handles, elevator buttons and any unhygienic surface could mean the difference between having a great holiday or ending up with Delhi Belly.
I can get through several bottles of this on my travels, and I know that if there isn’t a place to properly wash my hands before eating finger foods, such as sandwiches, I can always be assured that my anti-bacterial hand sanitiser will kick into action.
19. Essential Lavender Oil
I love to use lavender oil at home, and while I am away and as a qualified aromatherapist, I would say that if you buy just one essential oil, then get this one.
You might wonder why it has made it onto the list of important travel products, but lavender oil properties are endless for travel.
You can use it on insect bites to stop the itching, on sunburn to calm the burn, and as a room fragrance when you turn up to an accommodation that smells musty (believe me, I have had to use lavender many times when renting private properties). Also, lavender oil is good to inhale from wrist points or on a scarf or handkerchief to alleviate anxiety and stress.
A few drops in a bowl of steamy water will also fill your environment with a beautiful and delicate aroma and, if done at night, will ease you off to sleep.
20. 15-Piece Sewing Kit
Having a sewing kit with you can get you out of some scrapes.
I’ve ripped my trousers and shorts while hiking and have managed to repair them to a usable point thanks to a sewing kit. Of course, a needle also comes in handy for removing any unwanted splinters from the body if the situation arises.
21. First Aid Kit
I always travel with far too many items to keep me fit and healthy and normally come home with everything still intact; however, having a tiny first aid kit that you can pop into your rucksack on a day out exploring makes sense and is one of my important travel products.
This one is compact and even has a tiny pair of scissors in it (remember, don’t pack it in your hand luggage as scissors have to be placed in your hold luggage as they are classed as a weapon)
22. Mini Hot Water Bottle
Stop laughing, as this is a must-have travel packing essential for me!
Hotel air-conditioning can bring the temperature of a room to almost arctic conditions even though it’s 40 degrees outside. And if you are heading to a country with cold weather, this will be great.
A hot water bottle ensures a good night’s sleep with warm feet and no shivering during the night.
23. Mosquito Milk
Mosquito Milk sounds alarming, but it is, in fact, an insect repellant.
It comes in a handy roll-on bottle, so you haven’t got the normal mess of spraying deet all over you, your clothes and everything around you.
Mosquito milk smells of citrus, unlike the foul smell of deet, which gets right up your nose.
I was introduced to this by another traveller and have trialled it in Asia, Australia and the Caribbean and am pleased to report it worked perfectly. The only time I was bitten was when I forgot to use it!!
24. Anti-Mosquito Plug
Double up on safety in your hotel room with an anti-mosquito plug just in case those critters try and take a chunk out of you in the night.
Silent and compact, this will plug in a standard socket.
If you don’t get one, always check with your hotel to see if they can provide one for your stay.
In countries where mosquitos are prevalent, many hotels and resorts already have mosquito plugs in the rooms, but don’t rely on this and don’t chance sleeping without one!
World Travel Packing Essentials
25. foldaway day backpack.
I love this day backpack and researched long and hard before purchasing it for my world travel adventure. It is lightweight, waterproof and folds down into a small pack.
The front and side mesh pockets and zipped compartment are convenient for hiking and exploring, while the breathable material eliminates a sweaty back if you carry it all day.
This is a top must-have on any RTW packing list.
26. Folding Bag
It’s just a handy item to add to your world packing list to have within your rucksack for when you need to pop into the shops!
27. Document/Phone/ Money Belt with RFID Technology
Travelling involves a lot of documents and gadgets, and at the airport, it can be a hassle to keep getting stuff in and out of a bag. It’s on the list of essential travel products for a good reason; it makes your life easy and secure.
Wear this money belt around the waist, shoulder or neck, knowing that the RFID-blocking technology in the interior pockets will stop identity theft while travelling. Never risk having your credit cards cloned.
All your most important items are easy to access, making your life much more straightforward.
28. Best Travel Packing Cubes
One of the best travel tips I can give you is to buy packing cubes! They are so high on my list of important travel products, and I wouldn’t travel without them. Using packing cubes makes life easy, and when you travel for a long time, they are just what you need.
I used these on a 3-month trip and separated underwear, tops and jumpers, beachwear, dresses, shorts and skirts into various-sized bags.
This worked because rather than rummaging in a large case for something, I went to the packing cube that I knew the item would be in.
The laundry bag part of the set is perfect for storing all your dirty items until you find that next washing machine!
29. Hanging Waterproof Toiletry Bag
Having a hanging toiletry bag eliminates the hassle of finding a space in a hotel bathroom to place it, and also, by hanging it up, the chances of the bottom of the bag getting wet are minimal.
Must-Have World Travel Accessories
30. waterproof phone case.
Sea, Sand, and sunscreen can all affect your phone in disastrous ways, so protect your phone with a waterproof phone case.
I hadn’t realised how essential this would be until I had to use my phone to take photos whilst in a kayak in the South China Sea! Without it, my phone would have gotten very wet, and the consequences could have been dire.
Sand granules will also be stopped in their tracks if you pop your phone in the case while you are on the beach.
A waterproof dry bag is a good idea to take anywhere that water could get into your stuff and ruin it.
31. Travel-Size Perfume Atomiser
I love taking my favourite scent on my travels, and this handy pocket-size perfume atomiser allows me to decant my perfume at home and always have it with me.
32. Rubber Door Wedge Stopper
It may sound crazy, but have you ever stayed in a place where you didn’t feel completely safe at night? I am quite paranoid about hotel rooms and who has access to keycards.
I have been known to put a chair behind the door (when I forgot my doorstop!) so that if someone tried to get in whilst I was sleeping, it would fall and wake me.
This is where a doorstop comes in; wedge it under your door when you turn in for the night, and you will be able to sleep soundly, knowing that no one can open your hotel door and enter your room at night.
I’m sorry for the paranoia for those of you who have never had this thought cross your mind, but it’s one of the best packing tips I have ever been given!
33. Travel Sized Bottles for Toiletries
Travel-sized bottles will save space and weight in your suitcase. Decant your products into them and leave the heavy bottles at home.
34. ZipLock Waterproof Bags
It may be odd to take on a trip, or maybe not! These bags are so handy for storing wet items while you are on the move. They are also great for keeping food fresh between destinations.
35. Reading Book
I never travel without a book. Not a Kindle, I might add, but an actual paperback. The smell and the touch of those pages make me want to start to read and not put the book down. I always buy two new books at the airport before my flight.
I use the confinement of the flight as a time to catch up with my reading and leave my books behind in my end destination for another traveller to enjoy.
Here, you can find the best books travellers have written to inspire wanderlust .
36. Travel Journal
I like to write, so a journal is a must-have travel essential.
I jot down feelings, ideas and plans to re-read later and be transported back to a particular time and place.
37. Passport Cover
A brightly-coloured passport cover is a must-have travel essential.
It helps you identify it at the bottom of your bag and makes it obvious to you and others that it is yours.
I have heard stories of people picking up the wrong passport and wandering off. What a nightmare that would be!
I hope sharing my travel packing guide will make life easier for you!
I would recommend investing in some of these must-have world travel packing essentials and evaluating what else you would need on your trip – no need to take items if you’re not going to use them; it will only add unnecessary weight to your luggage!
What pieces are must-have essentials for you? Have you got any of your own to add to my list? Let me know in the comments below!

I stumbled across packing cubes a few years ago on a website, and I was surprised at how much the de-stressed the arduous task of packing and unpacking when you're moving from place to place. One of the many things I like is that I don't have to do all of my packing at once. I can spread it out over time. For example I can deal with my socks. Then I can deal with my T-shirts. And I can easily re-arrange things without having to start all over. The other thing I discovered on line that has totally de-dressed travel is the luggage scale. Sometimes I think I"m overweight, but I'm not. And sometimes I think I within the limit, but -again - I'm not. So a great list! And here's one that not on it: . something to hang around my neck with two pockets, both with plastic zippers so they don't set off alarms. I use this to hold my passport, boarding pass, and a certain amount of cash. a traveling companion said it made me look like a dork, but I said I'd rather look like a dork than misplace something. I did, in fact, have my passport stolen! I t's great because I can hang if under my clothes and nobody knows it's there!
Hi Michael. I have seen a lot of people with the neck purses on and I think they make a lot of sense. Sorry to hear your passport still got stolen. The worst thing that could happen while travelling. I loved my packing cubes while living out of a suitcase for 3 months. When you are constantly on the move there is no time to hang things in a wardrobe and this is when these come into there own. Happy Travels 😃

Really good list which I totally agree with (although I'm a Kindle girl, sorry!) I got an Octopus charging cable as a gift once and it's so useful - I often end up lending it out but I always make sure I get it back!
I just can’t revert to a kindle, I love the feel and smell of a new book 😃

Some wonderful ideas here on trave essential! I had never thought about bringing my own anti-mosquito plug! But definitely a must for Southeast Asia.
It did come in handy !

Loved all 38 things to pack as a traveler. Portable chargers and travel adapters are the first thing I pack. Also getting camera phone lens is good idea instead of carrying heavy cameras and its lens.
Glad you found it useful 😃

Travel + Leisure / Marcus Millan
It’s not hard to get the full luxury experience when you’re flying first class , getting picked up by a chauffeured black car, and being whisked to your five-star hotel suite on the club level. But what about summoning that same sense of pampering when your plane cabin or accommodations are less exclusive? To surround yourself with luxury wherever you may be — including right at home — build a personal collection of luxury accessories and take them with you.
From silk pajamas to luxury leather goods, our finds will help you seriously upgrade your standard ho-hum packing fare. And because luxurious doesn’t always mean expensive, our picks also include a few go-tos with down-to-earth price points that stand to transform your experience with next-level coddling or convenience. So that even when your ticket says row 39, your peace and comfort can transport you straight to 1A. (Aaahhh... now that’s better, isn’t it?) Among our favorites are a self-cleaning water bottle, a weighted eye mask, and a cashmere pillow set. But if you’re looking for something a little different , our list includes picks to elevate every travel situation.
Lunya Washable Silk Long Sleeve Pant Set
These indulgent pajamas combine the luxury of silk with the ease of machine washability.
These PJs are prone to wrinkling when packed, and they run a bit large.
This silk pajama set is as luxurious as it gets — but it’s also machine washable (because convenience and ease are luxuries, too). The washable fabric stays cool throughout the night, and the durable shell buttons stay in place no matter how you toss and turn. The pants have a tapered leg and high-rise cut for a stylish, tailored look — whether you’re sleeping in a five-star hotel, right at home, or somewhere in between.

Aberdeen Oak Travel Bartender Kit
Elevate cocktail hour from anywhere with a set of pro mixology tools.
Remember that bringing bar tools on the road means washing them… and traveling home with them, too.
Cocktailing on the road doesn’t have to mean pouring a mini bottle into a can of whatever’s on hand. With this comprehensive travel mixology kit, you can bring all the tools you need to make serious drinks on the road. This 18-piece kit includes a shaker, strainer, muddler, and more — all in a chic canvas carry bag with a handle.
Price at time of publish: $90
Sharper Image Car Cushion With Massage and Heat
This massaging seat cushion with the option of heat upgrades a ho-hum road trip experience in a major way.
The massage feature comes solely from vibration, so don’t expect the intensity of rollers.
For a truly luxurious road trip, hire a chauffeured limousine. But if that type of transportation isn’t in the cards, elevate the self-drive experience in any car with this massaging seat cushion. It has multiple massage modes — pulsating, tapping, rolling, and kneading — to work out the kinks in a range of specific targeted areas (of upper back, lower back, hips, and thighs). Customize the intensity and add the option of heat with the touch of a button. It has an auto shutoff timer for safety and folds for convenient portability. (And it fits on office chairs — so why not bring it from the road trip into the meeting room?)
Price at time of publish: $70
LARQ Bottle PureVis
A self-cleaning water bottle for safer travel at a time when Covid and other viruses dominate the news? Yes, please.
Accessories useful for travel (like a carry loop or sleeve) are sold separately.
There are refillable water bottles… and then there’s the Larq Bottle PureVis, billed as the first self-cleaning water bottle and water purification system. The built-in tech eliminates up to 99 percent of bio-contaminants such as E. coli from both the water and the bottle. And a little reassurance is a luxury in a world awash in germ-related headlines. The insulation keeps drinks cold for a full 24 hours or hot for 12. It comes in two sizes and six chic, neutral colors.
Price at time of publish: $100
Saatva Weighted Silk Eye Mask
Fine silk construction and weighted beads take this eye mask to the next level for both a calming effect and better sleep.
You’ll need to wash this mask by hand using mild detergent (and lay it flat to dry).
If you’re lucky, you’ll get an airline-issued scratchy acrylic eye mask on a long-haul flight. But you can do far better than that: Come prepared with this weighted eye mask made of fine mulberry silk. Not only does it block out light with a luxuriously soft feel, but the weighted feature adds therapeutic pressure for both sleep and relaxation. Silk also covers the secure elastic headband.
Price at time of publish: $75
Leatherology Tie Case
This tie case is highly functional for business travelers, and makes a great gift with an air of luxury; deboss it with a name or monogram for an extra personal touch.
Heads up for light packers: While this case is slim and streamlined, it’s naturally bulkier than traveling with ties alone.
You could shove your ties into your carry-on and hope for the best. Or you could elevate your game with this full-grain leather tie case. Not only does it hold as many as four ties — for a perfectly pressed look on arrival — but it also has a gusseted pocket sewn into the interior for collar stays, tie clips, or cufflinks. Utilitarian but not too bulky, this sleek tie case has a slim profile that slides easily into luggage. It’s available in three sophisticated colors, including black, brown, and cognac.

Arteana Roma Flat Sandals
Not only are these shoes chic and versatile for travel, the Amor motif gives them an internationally influenced vibe sure to charm wanderlusters.
The product description itself acknowledges that these run narrow, so choose one size up for a comfortable fit.
When you want the shoes-on-shoes-off ease of a flip-flop — but with a way more grown-up sensibility — these elegant slides are it. They’re super versatile for travel, going with ease from the airplane to the pool to dinner. Handcrafted in Italy with organic cotton, these shoes get “notice-me” style — with a travel-inspired flair — from the Amor detailing woven into the lace upper.
Price at time of publish: $416
Sensate Relaxation Device
This gadget offers the therapeutic benefits of a meditation app, taken to the next level with a corresponding wearable device.
There is a limited number of soundtrack options in the available database.
Travel can be stressful in so many ways — no matter what cabin you fly in. This palm-sized wearable device and the corresponding audio app uses infrasonic waves to resonate through the body, targeting the vagus nerve and strengthening the nervous system; the waves are meant to encourage relaxation and improve resilience to stress over time. The soundscapes are designed to cater to your personal goals, whatever those might be, whether it’s winding down for sleep or boosting energy in the morning.
Price at time of publish: $300
Deseri Paris Wristlet Wallet
With two wristlet options, this small accessory serves as a wallet and a going-out bag complete with phone storage.
If you’re used to carrying only a small wallet when you hit the road, this could feel bulky in comparison.
This day-to-evening wristlet wallet from black female-owned brand Deseri is a luxurious leather accessory that punches way above its weight when it comes to travel functionality. Inside, it’s a wallet you can toss in your tote and head out on the town. Outside, it has the appeal of an evening bag, and it comes with two choices of wristlets — a gold chain and a leather strap — so you can pair it with tons of different day-to-evening looks while keeping packing streamlined. It’s even big enough to fit your phone.
Price at time of publish: $375
Hook & Albert Men’s Black Leather Garment Weekender Pro
Hook & Albert
This is like the Transformers, but for travel accessories; it’s a luxury carry-on that does it all.
This bag is designed for an overnight or weekend trip — not a longer journey.
It might look like a typical duffel at first glance — but it’s so much more. It’s a tricked-out garment bag equipped with shoe pockets, loads of organization, as well as the ability to pack up to two gowns or suits and arrive wrinkle-free. An exterior pocket features a laptop sleeve and cord-organizing straps. A padded shoulder strap and trolley sleeve make for convenient carrying options. Bonus: It even folds flat for storage.
Price at time of publish: $675
Sofia Cashmere Emilia Travel Set
Saks Fifth Avenue
Lightweight and sumptuous, this set redefines the meaning of “travel essentials.” (You’ll never go back.)
Each of the pieces in this set must be dry-cleaned only.
Imagine settling into a long-haul flight with your very own cashmere sleep mask, blanket, and pillow set — not the penny-ante airplane-issued goods (or, say, your balled-up sweatshirt in a pinch). That’s almost enough to make even economy class feel like first class ( almost ). All three pieces in each set fully coordinate; choose from red, gray, or beige.
Price at time of publish: $395
Kypris 1000 Roses Beauty Elixir
The rosy fragrance, the sumptuous feel — this is one carry-on-friendly beauty product that stands far out ahead in a cluttered skincare field.
Those with ultra-sensitive skin might want to avoid it.
Travel can be seriously dehydrating for the skin — especially when it comes to long-haul flights or cold climates. This deliciously fragrant beauty oil makes quick work of flakiness and dullness in the most luxurious way. Key ingredients include Bulgarian roses and bioidentical CoQ10 and Vitamin C ester. Use just a few drops day and night.
Price at time of publish: $230
M.M. LaFleur The Merritt Jardigan
This best-selling, polished piece blends the comfort of a cardigan with the polished look of a blazer.
Substantial knit fabric gives this piece a distinct heft — good for warmth, not as good when it comes to packing light.
A hoodie might get you by, but this dressed-up option is so much more sophisticated. It’s a so-called “jardigan” — a hybrid cardigan and jacket boasting the sharp look of a blazer (with clean lines and traditional lapels), and the comfort of a favorite cardigan sweater (thanks to the unstructured knit material with stretch). Tie the sash at the waist for a more structured look (and added warmth), or leave it open for a more dressed-down look and feel.
Price at time of publish: $325
Leovard Luxury Shaving Set
This unisex kit elevates an everyday grooming activity to a spa-like pampering experience.
Traveling with a whole shaving kit may be more than you need if you’re going carry-on only or otherwise need to pack light.
Sure, you can pick up a disposable razor from the airport or housekeeping staff. But a chic, travel-ready shaving kit elevates the experience to spa-level self-care. This gender-neutral and high-quality boxed grooming kit comes with a shaving handle, shaving brush, stainless steel shaving bowl, balancing multi-function stand, and cleaning cloth; the shaving handle, brush, and stand are crafted with stainless steel, zinc oxide, and acrylic fibers for a sleek look.
Price at time of publish: $122
Meze 99 Classics Over-ear Headphones
Elegant in both look and sound quality, these headphones are a luxurious pick for true audiophiles.
The ear cups may not suit all larger ear sizes.
Sure, AirPods are compact and great for travel. But if you’re an audiophile with a purist streak, these luxe headphones are for you. The sturdy, wired headphones deliver a more natural, high-end sound with (sustainably sourced) wood ear cups, soft earpads, and spring steel headbands. Choose walnut silver or walnut gold colorways to suit your personal style.
Price at time of publish: $309
Themoirè Bios Woven Vegan Leather Clutch
This vegan leather bag stays cruelty-free with a high-end woven look, and supreme versatility in nude with an optional cross-body strap.
It’s a bit bulky considering how little it carries.
When you want a versatile clutch with a super high-end look, but want it to be vegan, this chic and supple bag ticks every box. Made of polyurethane and polyester, this vegan leather piece can be carried as a clutch or worn across the body with an optional strap. A hinged magnetic top closure keeps belongings inside secure. With a woven look and a pinky hue, this is one travel-ready accessory that packs a punch.
Price at time of publish: $525
Kurt Geiger London Kensington Vanity Case
With supple quilted leather and antiqued brass accents, this vanity case evokes the golden age of Hollywood.
This vanity case requires care typical for luxury leather — it’s more of a statement piece than a means of grab-and-go convenience.
Sure, you could find plenty of other more space-efficient, cost-effective ways to travel with your vanity items — but none chicer than this lambskin leather vanity case. With plush overstitch quilting all around, the bag also features a decorative antiqued brass eagle head with brass crystals and black bead eyes. A matching antiqued brass chain strap and zipper closure finish the look.
Price at time of publish: $315
Barton Perreira Vanity Sunglasses
These bold sunglasses are guaranteed to get noticed with oversized ‘70s-inspired styling.
These frames will overpower small faces.
A pair of go-to sunnies is a must for any traveler. And this luxurious pair is a perfect fusion of form and function: They have statement-making ‘70s-inspired frames meant to get noticed, plus deep tints and oversized lenses for serious coverage. They’re available in six colorways so you can pick the perfect match for your style.
Price at time of publish: $535
STM ChargeTree Go 3-in1 Wireless Charging Station
This charging station charges three devices simultaneously and folds for compact storage or use as a charging platform.
This gadget is only set up to work with Apple devices.
Nothing clutters up a travel experience — or a desk, or a nightstand — faster than a tangle of unruly cables. Keep everything tidy and just-so with this all-in-one portable charging station. Capable of charging an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously, this device also folds flat to work as a charging platform while saving space, too (and tucks away easily when not in use).
Price at time of publish: $120
Cadence Toiletry Organizers, Set of 12
There is no cooler or more streamlined way to pack toiletries — and you can fully customize your own set.
You may not get all of your most-used toiletries into each small capsule — especially for a longer trip — so consider your usage first.
Put simply, it’s just a better mousetrap. These leakproof, magnetic capsules store travel-sized versions of your toiletries, medicine, and the like (even jewelry), all in a tidy, uniform, and streamlined fashion. Customize the tiles on top so you have an easy visual on everything you need — no painter's tape or Sharpie required.

7 best packing cubes of 2023, chosen by travel experts.
Packing cubes are the ultimate travel accessory.
The Best Packing Cubes for Travel
When it comes to packing cubes, travel experts agree Eagle Creek is best. Courtesy of Eagle Creek
Even the most seasoned travelers can struggle to pack efficiently , which is why packing cubes – organizational containers for your suitcase – are so popular. Many luggage brands sell their own packing cubes for travel, making it easy to choose a set that not only matches but fits perfectly in your luggage. Still, travel experts say Eagle Creek makes the best packing cubes.
Read on to see their recommendations across a variety of categories.
- Best Overall Compression Packing Cubes: Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set on Eagle Creek
- Best Overall Traditional Packing Cubes: Veken Packing Cubes on Amazon
- Best for Backpacking: Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Cube Set on Amazon
- Best for Formal Wear: Eagle Creek Pack-It Starter Set on Amazon
- Best for Kids: EzPacking Clear Packing Cubes on Amazon
- Best Size Options: Tripped Travel Gear Compression Packing Cubes on Amazon
- Best for Style: Lug Compression Packing Cubes on QVC

Best Overall Compression Packing Cubes: Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set
(Courtesy of Eagle Creek)
"I swear by the Eagle Creek Pack-It Reveal Cube Set," says Christine Sarkis, editor in chief at FamilyVacationist . "They're lightweight, you can see into them without needing to unzip them, and the fabric texture isn't slippery so as you're wedging carefully rolled items of clothing into them, they don't pop out." Made from recycled materials, these durable, water-resistant packing cubes are also backed by Eagle Creek's lifetime warranty (even if purchased on Amazon ). "I'm going on 20 years with mine!" says travel expert Candice Criscione of Mom in Italy . The Pack-It Reveal Cube Set includes three packing cubes in different sizes.
Price: $36 or less
Best Overall Traditional Packing Cubes: Veken Packing Cubes
With nearly 18,000 reviews and a 4.7-star rating on Amazon, the Veken Packing Cubes are the clear winner in this category. "I have owned these cubes for a few years now, and they have been very durable despite taking many trips and not exactly being gentle with them," says Phil Dengler of The Vacationer , adding that the price is a bargain for the value. The six-piece set includes a laundry bag and shoe bag, and the other four cubes have a mesh lid for easy visibility and breathability. The Veken Packing Cubes are available in a dozen different colors.
Price: $19.99 or less
Best for Backpacking: Eagle Creek Pack-It Isolate Compression Cube Set
Courtesy of Eagle Creek
The Pack-It Isolate Compression Cube Set from Eagle Creek comes highly recommended by frequent travelers, particularly for backpacking trips. Available in a set of two or three, these packing cubes are lightweight yet durable, with self-repairing zippers (standard on all Eagle Creek packing cubes) designed to withstand overpacking. The Isolate packing cubes are also machine-washable – a rarity for packing cubes.
Caroline Teel, managing editor at SmarterTravel , uses packing cubes specifically for adventure travel and appreciates that these compression bags are pre-treated with an anti-microbial agent that prevents odors. "Having recently used them on an eight-day hiking trip on Mount Kilimanjaro, I can confirm they work in that department!" she says. She adds that while she's tested a variety of packing cubes, she always comes back to Eagle Creek.
Price: $45 or less
Best for Formal Wear: Eagle Creek Pack-It Starter Set
Slightly different from the Pack-It Reveal and Pack-It Isolate, the Pack-It Starter Set includes a large mesh folder with folder board for minimizing wrinkled garments – a good alternative to a traditional garment bag . The folder can hold up to 12 dress shirts, dresses, and the like, making this set an ideal choice for business travel or cruise vacations that require formal wear. The other two cubes (small and medium-sized) are ideal for casual clothing, under garments and accessories. These packing cubes are also treated with an anti-microbial agent to block odor-causing bacteria and – sans the folding board – they are water-resistant and machine washable.
Price: $55 or less
Best for Kids: EzPacking Clear Packing Cubes
"My kids (9 and 11) prefer these clear packing cubes," says Sarkis. "They're a little deeper and more rigid, and you can see everything in them, which helps kids pack for themselves and stay organized on the road." Even if you travel with little ones , you may find these clear packing cubes useful for organizing baby gear and locating essentials on the go. The EzPacking Clear Packing Cubes come in a set of four and are available in a variety of colors.
Price: $56.99 or less
Best Size Options: Tripped Travel Gear Compression Cubes
Courtesy of Tripped Travel Gear
Many travelers like the compression cubes offered by Tripped Travel Gear, a small business owned by a globetrotting couple (and their dog). Their innovative luggage line includes a two-, six- and seven-piece set of packing cubes; the seven-piece set is especially noteworthy for its variety of cubes, which includes a shoe bag, laundry bag and a tube-shaped cube that's useful for storing electronics such as hair irons.
These packing cubes also feature an external pocket. "You can use this pocket to store clothing as you use it, to keep the clean and dirty clothes separate," says Andrew Uyal of the travel blog, Flights and Footsteps . The packing cubes are available in solid colors as well as national park and other travel-themed prints.
Price: $49.95 or less
Best for Style: Lug Compression Packing Cubes
Rachael Hood, luggage expert and senior editor of Travel at U.S. News, loves the fun colors and patterns – which include tartan plaid, polka dots and florals – on these packing cubes by Lug. The lightweight cubes can store a lot before compressing down to just one inch in thickness, and they each feature a carrying handle. "They make packing so easy," says Hood. "I can fit 6 to 8 tops in the larger one and the smaller is ideal for socks and other accessories." She adds that these make the perfect travel gift .
Price: $36.72 or less
How to Use Packing Cubes
- Pack a set for each family member: " We have different color packing cubes for each member of the family so when we open the suitcase, it's easy for everyone to grab their own color and get organized in the hotel room or wherever," says travel writer, Terry Ward, who is frequently on the go with her family. She also notes that her family is able to save on luggage fees by using packing cubes in a single checked suitcase .
- Consider more than one set: Packing cubes are also useful for organizing toiletries, shoes , travel adaptors and cords, and other miscellaneous items.
- Categorize each cube: Pack each cube by activity or clothing type, such as active wear, swimwear and underwear.
- Pack with the mesh side facing up: If you buy mesh packing cubes, this packing tip will help you easily identify the contents of each packing cube (which can be especially useful in the event you need to open up your carry-on bag at airport security).
- Roll your clothing: Many travelers swear by rolling their clothing instead of folding it in their luggage, noting this tactic saves space and minimizes wrinkles. The same can be said for packing cubes.
- Use them for dirty laundry: If your packing cubes don't have pockets for dirty laundry like the Tripped Travel Gear bags do, you can still use your packing cubes to contain dirty laundry; just avoid using mesh cubes if you're concerned about the smell of soiled clothing pervading your bag.
- Use them for errands: Packing cubes are useful for everyday outings, too. "I use a smaller packing cube to keep diapers, wipes and a changing pad handy in my backpack when we’re out exploring," says Criscione.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most travelers and travel experts agree packing cubes are worth buying – especially considering there are so many affordable, quality options on the market. Plus, they can be used universally in everything from your luggage set to your weekender bag and even a backpack .
Yes, packing cubes save space by organizing clothing and accessories into individual compartments that neatly fit inside luggage. For maximum space, choose compression packing cubes, which eliminate extra air and zip nearly flat. Because packing cubes save space, they can also help you avoid unnecessary luggage fees.
Compression packing cubes zip nearly flat once packed, while traditional packing cubes maintain their shape and fit neatly into your luggage like pieces in a puzzle. While the decision between packing cubes and compression bags is ultimately a matter of personal preference, most travel experts agree compression packing cubes are best.

From travel essentials for long-haul flights to carry-on necessities for weekend escapes, this definitive list will detail exactly what essentials are needed for travelling on planes , trains and everything in between, no matter your destination .
Travel essentials for long-haul flights
Neck pillow Save yourself from the dreaded bobblehead effect by investing in a soft yet supportive neck pillow that allows you to rest easy and wake up crick-free – memory foam is a fantastic option.
Noise-cancelling headphones The constant drone of the plane can cause headaches and make it difficult to fall asleep. Noise-cancelling headphones are a travel essential for planes, trains, buses and ferries as they cut out atmospheric noise and allow you to enjoy some peace and quiet while on the go.
Compression socks It isn’t always possible to get up, walk around, or stretch on a flight, which can cause swelling in the legs and feet from a prolonged period of sitting. Compression socks promote circulation and reduce swelling in legs and feet, and if you get a pair made from natural fibres they’ll keep your toes snug, too!
Packable travel blanket Long-haul international flights often have very cool cabin temperatures. To ensure a comfortable flight sneak a packable or wearable blanket into your carry-on.
Carabiner Perfect for attaching an umbrella, packable jacket or poncho, hand sanitiser or other knick-knacks to your backpack or person, a carabiner is one of those things you didn’t know you needed.
Shop our top picks
Fleece reversible blanket in Beige or Navy, $29.90 each, Uniqlo. Compression socks in Black and White, $39 per pair, Paire.
Bluetooth transmitter No one likes using airline-supplied earphones. A Bluetooth transmitter will allow you to use your own wireless headphones or earphones while enjoying in-flight films.
Eye mask The best way to avoid jet lag is by strategically sleeping a portion of your long-haul flight away. A lovely silk eye mask is gentle on the skin and effective at blocking out light.
Backpack A sturdy backpack that can comfortably carry all of your travel essentials is non-negotiable. Look for a model that has a slot for your laptop or device, a place for your drink bottle, cushioned shoulder straps and concealed pick-pocket proof compartments.
Hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes A helpful travel essential to have in your carry-on is antibacterial wipes and on-the-go hand sanitiser. When suitable for use on both hands and surfaces, wipes can sanitise tray tables, chairs, and armrests, or refresh dirty, sticky hands.
Silk sleep mask in Black, $55, Sssh Silk. Antibacterial Instant Hand Sanitiser in Refresh Green Clip & 2-in-1 Hands & Surfaces Anti-Bacterial Wipes, both Dettol .
International travel essentials
RFID protectors Thieves and pickpockets are present everywhere, and their methods of obtaining information are getting more sophisticated. An RFID protective sleeve, wallet, or bag will protect your cards or passports from being digitally copied and fraudulently used.
Packing cubes Packing cubes are the unsung heroes of all travel essentials and will allow you to fit more in your suitcase while maintaining a higher level of organisation.
Portable door lock If you’re looking for a little extra peace of mind when it comes to security, look no further than the portable door lock. There are a few models on the market, but you should look for one that is easy to use, comes in one piece, and can be installed and removed quickly in case of emergency.
Digital luggage scale Avoid exceeding your checked luggage allowance by testing the weight of your suitcase and carry-on item before leaving your hotel by packing a handy digital luggage scale.
Travel wallet It’s incredibly handy to keep your passport, cards, boarding passes, travel SIM cards, and other paraphernalia in one spot. Invest in a travel wallet that makes transitioning through airports, railway stations and other ports effortless.
Bluetooth luggage tags Keep track of where your luggage, passport, backpack, phone, keys, and other essential items are by fitting them all with an Apple AirTag, Samsung Galaxy SmartTag or Tile Mate. When in range, they send out a secure BlueTooth signal to your phone which can then be tracked in the Find My app.
Portable power bank Our phones have become one of the hardest working tools on our travel essentials list. Used for snapping photos, filming videos, translating signs and getting directions, phone batteries can deplete quicker than we think. Carry a portable power bank to ensure you’re never caught with a flat battery.
Bag lock Most suitcases feature built-in locks for zips, but many backpacking units and day packs do not. A bag lock is a quick and easy travel essential that ensures no one can sneak sticky fingers into your luggage when you aren’t looking.
Travel wallet with RFID protection in Black, $151, Anorak. Apple AirTag in Pink case , $479, Hermes.
Universal travel essentials
Travel-size toiletries International liquid, gel, and powder restrictions often require cosmetics and other toiletries to be decanted into smaller containers. Look for travel-size containers that are water-tight, easy to pack and sturdy enough to withstand any rough-housing.
Magnetic hat clip Whether you’re carrying a beanie, cap, straw hat, or fedora, a strong magnetic hat clip that can attach to your handbag or pack will ensure your hat doesn’t get lost, or end up crumpled beyond recognition.
Suitcase It goes without saying that a suitcase is a travel essential. Look for a suitcase with a durable yet lightweight construction, four rotating wheels on the base, built-in locks for zippers, and hard-wearing retractable handles.
Packable raincoat Regardless of whether your destination is hot, cold, wet or dry, rain is always a possibility.
Check suitcase , from $375, July. Hat clip , $24.95, Klipsta.
Universal travel adaptor If you happen to be on a multi-continent journey, carrying a single travel adapter for every type of electrical outlet just isn’t economical. Instead, buy one adapter that can be adjusted to suit the voltage and outlet of any destination – extra points for an adapter with USB ports.
Luggage tag Lost luggage is a traveller’s worst fear, but finding a lost bag or suitcase requires your items to be clearly labelled. A brightly-coloured luggage tag that details your name, email, phone number, and best address while abroad is the key to successful recovery.
Camera For those looking to capture high-quality holiday memories, a user-friendly, lightweight digital camera with 4K capabilities and a manoeuvrable screen is a travel essential.
Collapsible drink bottle Give up single-use plastic bottles and stop buying bottled water! Carrying a collapsible drink bottle with you at all times, instead.
Silk pillowcase Avoid breakouts or skin irritation by taking a silk pillowcase with you.
Duo Face Saver Case in Terracotta Dreamin’, $260, Nidra. J.Burrows 2 Port USB Travel Adapter in Grey, $21.99, Officeworks.

Don’t leave home without these 32 travel essentials that make your trip easier, cleaner and overall, well, funner . We looked to travel bloggers and other frequent jet-setters for picks, and came away with these absolute must-haves, from a luxe pair of slipper-shoes to wear in-flight to pair of stylish Polarized sunglasses and pickleball set for outdoor fun.
20 of the Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the U.S.
1. Qtshine Portable Charger Power Bank
Travel Blogger Dan Flying Solo maintains that “any traveler knows that keeping their devices charged is essential these days” and he recommends taking a handy portable charger anywhere you go. This model can charge most phones up to six times and tablets twice, and can charge two devices simultaneously.
2. Calpak Mini Hue Carry-on
We reviewed this bag and loved it for its surprising roominess, durability, style and ability to finally restrict us to the travel capsule wardrobe we’ve always dreamed of.
3. Carry Onwards Travel Yoga Mat
At three pounds, this is lighter than many other quality yoga mats, and made to fold flat so that you can throw it in your carryon or backpack without a bulky rolled-up situation.
4. Cadence A Capsule A Day
These leakproof, waterproof BPA-free plastic containers fit together to hold everything from pills to shampoos. Choose among seven colors to code your daily self-care regimen while you’re away from home.
5. Yolo X Scarosso' Travel Slippers
Designed by Yolanda Edwards, the founder of travel and lifestyle magazine YOLO Journal , these lightweight slippers have a velvet body and rubber sole, making them attractive and oh-so packable. “[They] go with everything from dresses to jeans,” she says. “And because they come in so many different colors, even when I'm traveling and always wearing the same black/navy/grey look, I feel like I have some life on my feet!”
6. Mingseecess Portable Underwear Travel Organizer
Don’t want to search for your socks and knickers in your luggage anymore? Travel blogger Caz Makepeace recommends a dedicated travel organizer with slots for bras, bikinis and whatever else is going on with your undergarments.
7. Fly Girl: A Memoir by Ann Hood
This memoir of a former TWA flight attendant in the 1970s (People called her a “gifted storyteller”) is full of bygone days of travel glamour as well as more turbulent times of massive industry deregulation and labor strikes.
8. Maui Jim Polarized Sunglasses
“Best sunglasses I’ve ever owned,” says the author of the Going Awesome Places blog, who cites them for their optical clarity. We like how the brand has a wide range of styles, whether you’re going for a sport fisherman vibe or something more chi-chi resort.
9. Fenglaoda Compression Socks
The globetrotting blogger behind The Blonde Abroad won’t leave home without packing compression socks which increase pressure around the ankle, upwards toward the knee, helping decrease incidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT, aka blood clots in the legs). We like these because they’re low-key cute, unlike the many loudly printed options we’ve seen elsewhere.
10. Bleusalt The 2-yard Wrap
Makepeace (of Y Travel ) also recommends taking a blanket-sized scarf for everything from a too-cold hotel room to an over air-conditioned flight. This wrap, which comes in 18 colors, is just large enough (44 x 72 inches) to work as a lap blanket while you’re in the air and do double duty as a shoulder wrap once you’ve reached your destination. The Tencel modal and spandex fabric is breathable and can be washed and dried without shrinking…and it comes in its own drawstring bag, meaning it won’t come unfolded when not in use.
11. Longchamp Large Le Pliage Tote
Travel blogger Hey Ciara says she’s used this as her carryon for years, after purchasing one in Paris. She even got one for her mom—which is the most ringing endorsement we can think of for this leather-handled nylon tote with a zip and snap-top closure. Additionally, it’s great to throw in your checked luggage since it folds down to a flat square.
12. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Paper
This refillable mirror case holds small sheets of paper that are genius for absorbing extra moisture without harming makeup—because when you are in transit, you won’t always have a chance to put your face back together.
13. Zoppen Travel Wallet
This is the indispensable item you need to stay organized during your travels, with card slots for identification, a sleeve for any notes and your itinerary as well as places to stash currency. Sure, your ticket is probably a QR code on your phone, but we still like a place for physical items. And the RFiD-blocking material means that scam artists won’t be able to scan your personal information when it’s tucked safely inside.
14. Apple Airtag
Lost luggage is a real buzzkill, but there are strategies to avoid it. “Besides the obviously mandatory name tags, buy Apple tags and put one in each of your checked luggage," advises Yolanda Edwards . “And bring an extra in case a bag is overweight on the way back and you’re asked to check it.”
15. J.Crew Packable Hat
The raffia is bendable, rollable and still emerges from your suitcase looking cute and shady thanks to the medium-size brim.
16. Conair Folding Handle Hair Dryer
This tiny, lightweight blow dryer justifies taking up precious room in your luggage because it’s got more power (1600 watts) and functions (dual heat settings, a cold shot button to set style) than whatever dryer you’ll find in your hotel room. And did we mention it’s only 1 pound and folds up?
17. Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Instant Camera
Social media is great, but sometimes you want a tangible keepsake to share with friends on a trip. That’s why frequent traveler Hey Ciara enjoys bringing along an instant camera—but only on shorter trips, because the film can be pricey.
18. Caoodkdk Electronics Travel Organizer
Seriously, isn’t it time you stopped rooting through the bottom of your carryon for the right charger or to find your earphones? This lightweight semi-padded case includes tiny pockets to fit small cords, larger slots for power banks and even a pocket for your phone…in case you decide to use your in-flight time for a digital detox.
19. Recess X J.crew Pickleball Paddle
Pickleball is America's fastest-growing intergenerational sport, so when you're visiting your folks, a steely game of pickle ball should be on the agenda. Think of how psyched out your opponents (aka beloved family) would be if you were to whip out a fiberglass paddle and tailored cover.
20. Beats Solo 3
Travel blogger Hey Ciara recommends these for listening on board your flight since they have comfy cupped padding on the ears and a stylish look to boot. Plus, they give up to 40 hours of performance on a single charge.
21. Beis Weekender
Our reviewer deemed this bag the unsung hero of her two-week vacation, citing its minimal good looks, Velcro-lined laptop sleeve and wire-rim opening that makes it easy to see everything inside. (Special shout-out to the zippered luggage trolley sleeve that allows you to rest it on your checked or carryon roller bag.)
22. Joto Waterproof Phone Pouch
Even if you’re not planning to take your phone with you snorkeling in some exotic locale like Nomadic Matt , you’ll feel a lot more secure slipping your phone into this dry bag that’s got an easy snap closure yet is certified waterproof to 100 feet down. It’s transparent on both sides, so you can stash a car key and some money in there too, and it comes with a detachable neck strap.
23. Mulberry Silk Pillowcase
Like a spot of luxury with you when you leave home? Make like The Blond Abroad and travel with a silk pillowcase. It’s soothing and known to reduce hair breakage.
24. Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside Expandable Luggage
Sometimes you just have to check a bag, and when you do, you want to feel confident that it will stand up to any amount of baggage handler roughhousing. That’s why you’re opting for a Travelpro, the spinner luggage designed by a pilot to be lightweight and durable. This model has a handle that stops at two heights, four durable 360-degree spinning wheels and a two-inch expansion zipper to fit all the purchases you’ll be coming home with. We love the lifetime limited warranty and one-year guarantee for repair…just in case the airline does any damage.
25. Airwasher Kf94 Adjustable Face Masks
The big innovation here is a clever little loop along each side that lets you tighten the mask to fit your face. There’s also a smart three-dimensional design which lets you wear it with some room between your mouth and the mask, so that your lipstick won’t just immediately rub off.
26. Lifestraw Go Water Filter Bottle
The center filter in this reusable BPA-free water bottle is good for reducing microplastics, bacteria, parasites, pesticides and overall cloudiness in your water. We discovered this brand on blogger Hey Ciara’s web site and think it’s indispensable for backpacking and camping.
27. Toneof Cell Phone Tripod
Travel blogger Nomadic Matt recommends taking a small portable tripod for capturing hands-free shots. We’re fans of this model, since it only weighs three-quarters of a pound, folds into a slender 11-inch wand for portability and extends to 60 inches tall. Also, there’s a remote shutter release that stores right in the tripod shaft.
28. Dagne Dover Toiletry Pouch
This stand-up toiletry case's inventive design shows why PureWow readers love the brand—the 5.5-inch round and tall case has a removable Velcro insert that keeps all your travel bottles and jars exactly where you want them. And it's all 100 recycled materials. Bonus: There's also a large size .
29. Monos Cleanpod Uvc Sterilizer
A high-energy beam of ultraviolet C light zaps out of this portable device with the push of a button. According to a study co-authored by Columbia University, UVC light kills invisible airborne germs, thus the rationale of using this device on that airline armrest or taxi door handle.
30. Away Insider Packing Cubes
These four organizers come in seven colors and have mesh tops so you can see what’s inside, as well as a water-resistant nylon base and sides. There’s one for socks, one for underclothes, one for shirts and trousers…and they all fit, puzzle like, into a standard carryon bag.
31. Hest Camp Pillow
This small memory-foam pillow is ergonomically shaped and only 2.2 pounds, and has a dirt and water-resistant cover that’s machine washable.
32. Supergoop! Spf 40 Mini Defense Refresh (re)setting Mist
A real game-changer in the sunscreen game, this mist can be applied and reapplied over makeup without rubbing it in. You simply spray a light coating on each side and center of your face (with your lips tucked in because you don’t want to eat sunscreen) and you’re good to go.
