…Genau dort, wo die beiden Naturparks Steigerwald und Frankenhöhe sich treffen, liegt Bad Windsheim, das einzige Heilbad in Mittelfranken.

In Bad Windsheim verbindet sich Geschichte mit Gesundheit auf eine einzigartige Weise – zum einen mit der Franken-Therme und den Kurkliniken, zum anderen durch Museen und den historischen Stadtkern. Die hübschen Gässchen, Cafés, Geschäfte und Restaurants der ehemaligen Reichsstadt laden zum Verweilen ein.

Rund um den Kern der Stadt befinden sich zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten. Im Rahmen der Stadtführung (Freitag bis Sonntag und Feiertage) werden u.a. Archäologisches Fenster und Stadtkiche St. Kilian besichtigt.

Vor den Toren der Stadt liegt der größte denkmalgeschütze Kurpark Bayerns. Dieser, in seiner Größe und Qualität sicher einmalige Kurpark, steht kostenlos als großer Naturraum zur Verfügung und überzeugt mit zahlreichen Attraktionen wie Gradierwerk, Kneippbecken, Kräutergarten, Minigolfplatz und vielem mehr. Die Heilquellen Bad Windsheims, die sich zum Teil ebenfalls im Kurpark befinden, bieten Heil- und Mineralwasser sowie vollgesättigte Sole und Thermalsole.

In der Franken-Therme Bad Windsheim werden die Heilquellen zugänglich gemacht. Dort erwartet die Gäste eine abwechslungsreiche Garten- und Thermal-Badelandschaft. In den Badehallen laden sechs Thermal-Sole-Becken im Innen- und Außenbereich zum Entspannen und Genießen ein.

Ein faszinierendes Schwebeerlebnis bietet der außergewöhnliche Salzsee – 750 qm groß, ganzjährig beheizt und nicht ohne Grund auch als "Fränkische Tote Meer" bezeichnet. Die vollgesättigte Sole (26,9% Salzgehalt), mit der der teils durch eine Kuppel überdachte See gespeist wird, sorgt für einen gewaltigen Auftrieb und lässt den Körper förmlich auf der Wasseroberfläche schweben. Neben den Badehallen verfügt die Franken-Therme auch über eine großzügige Sauna-Landschaft und einen vielfältigen Wellness-Bereich. Das Bad hat täglich von 9 bis 22 Uhr geöffnet.

Mit einer Vielzahl an kulturellen Veranstaltungen bietet Bad Windsheim ganzjährig ein abwechslungsreiches Programm. Ob Kur- und Promenadenkonzerte, Kabaretts, Musicals oder Konzerte im Kur- & Kongress-Center – für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei.

Über das Jahr hinweg feiert das Heilbad zudem mehrere städtische Feste. Zu den wiederkehrenden Highlights gehören das Frühlingsfest an Ostern, das Kiliani-Altstadtfest im Juli, die Kirchweih Ende August und der Reichsstädtische Weihnachtsmarkt. Zweimal im Jahr lassen die Windsheimer ein ganz besonderes Festspiel wiederaufleben: An Pfingsten und zur Kirchweih wird am Dr.-Martin-Luther-Platz der historische Wagnertanz von 1560 aufgeführt.

The offer is complemented by a 70sqm steam experience area with aroma steam bath, salt steam bath and experience showers.  All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label " Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users ".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

• There are three e marked parking spaces for people with disabilities.  
• All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are mainly accessible without steps. Some outdoor areas are accessible only by stairs.
• Outdoor paths are at least 200 cm wide. (existing outside path widths in cm: 200).
• Doors are at least 80 cm wide (some hall doors only 55 cm).
• The entrance/access to the building is step-free.
• The counter/cash register is 92 cm high at the lowest point. 
• There are six accessible tables in the restaurant.

• There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the WC.
• The washbasin is accessible from underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of less than 30 cm.
• The mirror can be viewed while sitting or standing.
• The shower is accessible without steps. 
• The shower area is 200 cm x 200 cm.
• There are grab bars in the shower.
• There is a shower seat available.
