We recently went to Vietnam Cambodia and Laos. All our ground arrangements as well as flights in Asia were arranged by the tour company. They also built the itinerary to suit our wants and provides both driver and guide in each place we visited. All arrangements were great and went off without a hitch. Our guides were fantastic. Of note were Khemrint in Cambodia, Trina in Ha Noi and Tran in HoiAn.

I had a great experience booking with Eric and he did a GREAT job arranging hotels, air and transportation. My issue was with the guides which I don't think was Eric's fault. In fact, Eric was extremely response when I reported my problems. I believe it is the company. The positive - I will say the guides appeared professional and the drivers were great. Everyone was on time. We traveled to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.I was told that I was getting their best guides - so sad as this was not one we got. It truly impacted my very long trip that I won't have the opportunity to redo. Many of the guides English was totally not up to the level needed. If fact, one had absolutely no clue when we tried to have a conversation. I have traveled all over the world and these were the worst guides I have ever had (except one). I had booked some tours on my own while there via Trip Advisor and Viator and had awesome guides. This is the way I usually do for my trips. Since this trip was so long, I didn't want to spend so much time researching each company for each day of my tours. I put my trust in this company and clearly they were not up to my level. Perhaps, they are fine for travelers who are not so well traveled. While going on our daily tours with Odynovo, I found myself listening to the other great guides around us with their clients. One of our guides even said they were rejected from another company. If you are a high end traveler, stay away.

My husband and I booked a trip to Southeast Asia for the first 3 weeks of January 2019. Our travel representative, Bruce Peng, did an outstanding job customizing an ideal itinerary for us to visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore! Every detail of our trip was arranged from picking us up at the airport, to making sure we got checked into our hotels and to communicating the time of pickup for each excursion. Each private customized excursion was outstanding ! Our guide from Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Hoa , and his driver were outstanding! We spent a lot of time with them due to our itinerary. While in Ho Chi Minh City, we traveled to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were amazing to visit. We also traveled to the Mekong Delta and had a wonderful boat excursion there. Our fifth country (third on this trip) with Odynovo was as perfect as the others. Leo Tran was a great guide. We had so many wonderful conversations and experiences. The Hotel Nikko Saigon was fabulous - 21st floor with wonderful view. I really enjoyed the extra stop to visit a business supporting the disabled in Vietnam (my request). My partner and I are so pleased we overcame our initial reservations about booking our holiday to S E Asia through Odynovo (formerly Odyssey Tours) rather than through our usual High Street travel agents, as is our usual practice when planning overseas trips. Despite never having come across Odynovo before and in particular its modus operandi whereby all arrangements are made online via email rather than face-to-face in the branch of a conventional travel agent, following exhaustive research online, we were persuaded by the sheer number of top-rated reviews to at least give them a whirl. Any qualms we might have had, however, were soon put to rest when, within a matter of hours of contacting Mr Eric Kong via email with a rough outline of our requirements (a 21-day tour of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam), we received back from him a draft itinerary which immediately impressed us both in terms of the sites and attractions it included, but also by its meticulous attention to detail. It would have taken us weeks of planning to do the necessary research in order for us to put together ourselves such a comprehensive program, but instead we just sat back and within a matter of a few hours, we now had a carefully constructed pro forma trip itinerary which we could begin to customise to our own precise specifications. Never having visited this part of the world before, Eric was able to advise us how best to divide up our time between our three chosen countries and was also very obliging in accommodating any specific requests we had to remove from the packed itinerary any attractions which seemed to us less appealing than others with the aim of creating some downtime for us at junctures where we felt we would appreciate some R&R amidst our busy schedule - a few hours perhaps to laze beside a hotel pool. Within a week and after a handful of email exchanges, with Eric always replying to our messages within a 24 hour window, we came to the conclusion that a 21-day tour was not going to provide sufficient time for us to do justice to all three countries. So we took the decision to extend our trip to 28 days. Eric, unfazed, immediately rose to the challenge and re-jigged our itinerary to take account of the extra time available. We now had the perfect itinerary for all three countries and were on the point of signing off on the deal when some friends who had moved to Cambodia several years ago and were now living in Siem Reap got in touch to suggest we might like to spend some time with them over the Christmas period. We had not been anticipating this and a quick glance at our itinerary confirmed that we were not even scheduled to be in Cambodia at this point in December. However, not having seen these friends for some 40 years, we thought it would be a missed opportunity if, whilst we were in their part of the world, we didn’t do everything we possibly could to catch up with them again. We needn’t have worried! Having explained the situation to Eric, somewhat to our amazement, within a matter of 48 hours he came back to us with a completely rejigged itinerary which now had us flying first into Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where we would spend two nights at the wonderful White Mansion Boutique Hotel and two days visiting a selection of fascinating and deeply thought-provoking sites such as the Silver Pagoda National Museum, Wat Phnom, the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and Killing Fields of Choeung Ek Memorial. Leaving Phnom Penh, we then flew to Siem Reap, arriving on Christmas Eve, where we spent the next 4 days - plenty of time to catch meet up with our old friends as well as visit, in the company of our amazingly knowledgeable and congenial guide in Siem Reap, Mr Sothy, the magnificent Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat temple complex among other attractions. Mr Sothy’s encyclopedic knowledge of the temples and Buddhist culture, history and tradition ensured we spent a fascinating and memorable two days in Siem Reap. His warm and engaging personality, not to mention his scholarship and astoundingly broad English vocabulary, provided the perfect start to our trip and set the bar high for the rest of our itinerary to follow.. After Siem Reap, Cambodia, our next flight took us to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Luang Prabang, where we were met by our friendly and relaxed guide, Mr Saylom. We spent two nights at the delightful Satri House hotel and two days exploring this enchanting town, its Royal Palace and Buddhist temples, including a wonderful trip upstream on the Mekong River in our own private long boat to visit the Pak Ou Cave, replete with its thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues, all in different shapes and sizes. A truly memorable experience. From Luang Prabang to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos, and into the care of Mr Sakhone, who spoke excellent English with an American accent having lived in the US for several years as a child before returning with his parents to his home country Laos. Despite being taken to visit some interesting sites, including the former Royal temple Wat Prakeo, built to house the famous Emerald Buddha image and the imposing That Luang stupa, I have to say we were not overly impressed with Vientiane, at least by comparison with Luang Prabang, despite the gloriously hot, sunny weather we enjoyed during our brief stay there. Leaving Laos, the next stop on our itinerary was Hanoi, Vietnam. Here we were met at the airport by our excellent and highly personable guide, Mr Thong, with whom we felt an immediate rapport. Mr Thong listened attentively to and acted upon any request we made and went out of his way to ensure that any restaurants or hotels we visited were reminded in advance of our dietary restrictions, even telephoning the Halong cruise boat company, as we were on our way there in the car, to check that they could provide soya milk for me onboard. We also realised early on in our trip that restaurants in S E Asia routinely add MSG to their food, which we found interrupted our sleep at night and left us feeling “edgy”, so he made sure to request that this was omitted from any meals served to us. A mine of useful and interesting information about his country and Vietnamese culture, we really appreciated Mr Thong’s warm and friendly manner and obvious experience as a guide. His well-rounded itinerary for North Vietnam, as well as taking in all the “must-see” attractions for any first-time tourist in Hanoi, including the notorious “Hanoi Hilton”, the famous Water Puppet show (we had initially thought this might not be one for us, but in the event we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were so glad that we went); the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, also took us up to the mountainous region of Sapa, where we spent 3 very comfortable nights in the delightful Aira Sapa Hotel and Spa in a premier room enjoying spectacular views from our terrace of the Muong Hoa valley and the 3,143m Fansipan Mountain, with its own cable car station at the summit. Other highlights of Mr Thong’s outstanding tour included a fascinating hike through picturesque, terraced rice fields and a visit to a village of the local Black H’Mong and Day ethnic peoples where we were privileged to be invited into the house of a local family to see at first hand their very basic conditions in which they live and experience their generous hospitality. Among a list of other attractions too numerous to recount in this review, we enjoyed an afternoon’s visit to Tam Coc and a truly magical outing in a foot-powered sampan along a peaceful river taking us through dark caves in the limestone cliffs alongside rice paddies and green fields. For the next stage of our itinerary, we were driven to the Tuan Chau International Passenger port at Halong, where we said a reluctant farewell to our friendly guide Mr Thong and our helpful driver who had taken such good care of us since our arrival in Vietnam, to begin our Bhaya Group two-day luxury cruise of Halong Bay. The weather at this point was not the best and having cruised before on a large, modern cruise ship, we had some misgivings about the use of the term “luxury” to describe what we felt we were about to experience, HOWEVER, we could not have been more mistaken! At the Bhaya Group cruise centre we were met and given the warmest of welcomes by our butler, the impeccably turned-out and personable Mr Tuyen Pham and offered a welcome drink and briefing about our cruise. Once onboard, we were shown to our spacious cabin, which included an enormous bathroom with shower AND bath, every possible amenity for our convenience and two very comfortable single beds. At this point, we both agreed that the use of the word “luxury” was perfectly justified in the circumstances and were excited to see what else lay in store for us on our cruise! We were not to be disappointed. The food onboard was delicious, giving absolutely no grounds for complaint and a “happy hour” at the bar helped break the ice among our group of 7 guests: 4 British and 3 Australians on our first evening together such that we were soon laughing and chatting away like long-lost friends. We spent two nights onboard experiencing the first-class customer service skills and hospitality of Mr Pham and his team. (N.B. There is the option to spend one night onboard instead of two. We thoroughly recommend spending two nights to gain the most from this exceptional one-off experience). Among a range of other excursions during our cruise, we were taken to visit a local fishing village at Cua Van where the inhabitants actually live on their boats and also to a pearl growing farm where we were given a fascinating demonstration of the process by which pearls are cultured inside oyster shells. The views from our cruise boat of Halong Bay were positively breathtaking, quite unlike anything we had ever experienced before and we would not have missed them for the world. The onboard evening entertainment whilst perhaps a little “quirky”: e.g. how to make a Vietnamese spring roll, or a cup of tea Vietnamese-style, were delivered with such enthusiasm and aplomb by our butler Mr Tham that the guests, for the most part, entered into the spirit of the occasion and joined in with the fun. When the time came to say goodbye to our hosts and return to shore, we all agreed that we had had a most exhilarating and unmissable experience and were full of gratitude to our butler, Mr Tuyen Pham and his exceptional team for their warm hospitality during our cruise. After being reunited with our guide at the cruise terminal, we were driven back to Hanoi airport where we said a fond farewell to Mr Thong and our wonderful driver to take a flight to Danang. On arrival we were met by our local guide Mr Dang Bao Thai and a new driver and conducted to the wonderful La Siesta Resort and Spa hotel in Hoi An where we were greeted like royalty before being shown to our upgraded Club room overlooking the swimming pool. The following day Mr Dang took us on a walking tour through the tiny and picturesque town of Hoi An which, we were amazed to learn, floods every year without fail to a height of several feet, with associated major disruption and public health consequences, due to the combined effects of climate change, soil erosion and illegal logging upstream of the town. In Hoi An we visited the Japanese Bridge, the famous Chinese temple and the beautifully preserved Tan Ky, a former Vietnamese merchant’s house, dating from the 16/17 century. Also included in our tour was a visit to a traditional lantern workshop where, under the guidance of a kind lady expert, we were invited to make our own lanterns which we could then take away with us. At night, Hoi An “Old Town” is renowned for being lit up by thousands of brightly coloured lanterns along the riverside and on boats, so a walk along the river after dark, or even a boat trip, to experience the cascade of dazzling colours are experiences definitely not to be missed. We found the ancient city of Hoi An absolutely charming and decided that it would make the perfect winter getaway location for us - only not during the flooding season! The following day we were driven to our next destination Hue, taking in the spectacular views along the coast and the city of Da Nang from the top of the Hai Van Pass. On arrival at our hotel, the luxurious, if strangely dated, Indochine Palace, we were grateful for some downtime to catch our breath and process all the things we had seen over the previous 24 hours. The following morning we were met at our hotel by Harry, our guide for the next two days. Harry came across to us as an experienced and highly capable guide, with a good command of English and a warm and friendly manner. He put us instantly at ease as he took us first to visit the majestic Minh Mang tomb, then on a trip along the Perfume River by Royal Dragon boat to visit the seven-storey Thien Mu pagoda. This was followed by visits to the Imperial Citadel and a tour of the Forbidden Purple City - all accompanied by fascinating commentary from our expert guide Harry. The next and final stop on our tour took us to the largest city in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City (also still commonly referred to, with no political undertones, as Saigon). Here we were met by the amazing “Mr Hanks” who was to be our guide in the buzzing metropolis and our driver Huy. We were immediately struck by the much higher temperature in HCMC and the “First World” look of the city with its modern skyscrapers (the most of any city in Vietnam according to Mr Hanks) and appealing mix of architectural styles influenced by earlier colonial periods in the country’s history. The traffic in HCMC is mad and chaotic - there are almost 7.5 million motorcycles on Saigon’s roads - with seemingly little regard paid to any rules applicable in Western countries. However, due to the patience, willingness to share road space and lack of aggression of the Vietnamese people, somehow all categories of road user, from terrifyingly large heavy goods vehicles to perilously overloaded mopeds, manage to rub along together, albeit with the occasional nasty accident. Driving in HCMC therefore requires a combination of great courage and nerves of steel and we were in awe of the driving skills exhibited by our driver Huy as he weaved his way calmly and painstakingly through the often near grid-locked streets and negotiated large roundabouts and junctions, where everybody seemed to be heading in a different direction, without so much as breaking into a sweat! On day 26 of our tour, we were met by Mr Hanks and Huy and driven to see the incredible underground Cu Chi tunnel system. On the way there, Mr Hanks gave an interesting talk, displaying to great effect his excellent English language skills, on the various places of interest along our route and a brief history of the Cu Chi tunnels in the context of the Vietnam war (or Resistance War against America, as it is known in Vietnam). We were even invited to experience the claustrophobic effect of the tunnels for ourselves and narrowly succeeded in covering a short distance underground, crouched down on our haunches due to the height of the tunnels (which have, we were told, already been enlarged to accommodate tourists) before emerging a matter of a few metres further on the other end - not an experience we would necessarily rush to repeat! Following our visit to the tunnels, we returned to HCMC to visit the Ben Thanh market, War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace and Old Saigon Post Office. Mr Hanks kept us well informed throughout and clearly took great pleasure in showing off the many attractions of his home city to tourists. We found him to be a very knowledgeable, not to mention entertaining guide, with a warm and likeable personality and tremendous enthusiasm for his work which, just as with Mr Thong, our guide in North Vietnam, greatly enhanced our enjoyment of his city. For our final day in HCMC and the final day of our 28-day itinerary, we were taken on an excursion to My Tho, a charming city in the Mekong Delta, about a 90 minute car drive from HCMC. Here we boarded a private motorized boat for a delightful, sunshine-bathed trip along the upper Mekong. Among the many attractions of the tour were a visit to a fish-rearing village and a boat trip along the Vam Xep canal with its beautiful water palm scenery. We were then treated by Mr Hanks to a walk through Quoi An fruit orchard where he dazzled us with his knowledge of all the various fruit trees along our route. A short ride in a horse-drawn cart followed to Ben Truc and Phong Phu garden where we were invited to sample some delicious fruits from the Mekong Delta whilst being entertained by a troupe of traditional local musicians. Lunch was taken at Mientay Riverside restaurant following which we were taken back by boat to meet our driver and return to HCMC. We recalled how, on first arriving in HCMC, we had expressed some reservations to Mr Hanks about the content of the final day’s program fearing it might be a little too exhausting for us at the end of our itinerary and that we should perhaps omit one or two things. He in turn assured us that this would not be the case and we decided to trust his judgement. In the event, he was absolutely right: we covered everything in the program for the day and still had plenty of energy left to enjoy a final evening’s entertainment in HCMC before leaving Vietnam the following afternoon at the end of our marathon itinerary. Once again back home in wintry London, after what was without a doubt the holiday of a lifetime, we are so glad we discovered Odynovo and the incredibly comprehensive vacation planning service they offer. Never having visited S E Asia before, the private tour guide and driver format offered by Odynovo was the perfect answer for us and we now feel we have had the best possible introduction to this beautiful and fascinating part of the world. We would like to express our gratitude to Mr Eric Kong for the outstanding service we received from him in the planning stage of our tour and also to all the many expert guides: Mr Proseth, Mr Sothy, Mr Saylom, Mr Sakhone, Mr Thong, Mr Dang Bao Thai and last but by no means least the irrepressible “Mr Hanks”) who accompanied us on our journey around Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, sharing with us their in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of their own countries and specific regions and by so doing adding much extra value to our overall experience. As regards the other aspects of the tour, the vehicles we travelled in were modern, comfortable and air conditioned, the meals provided were excellent to outstanding and portion sizes almost too generous; the hotels selected were, without exception, of a very high standard - far in excess of what we had anticipated. Finally, as previously mentioned, we would like to express our gratitude to all the highly skilled drivers who conveyed us safely along the busy roads and through the crowded cities on our itinerary without incident - a miracle in itself - and were always ready with a welcome bottle of ice cold water and, on scorchingly hot days, a refreshing cold towel when we returned to the vehicle! Thank you all for making our trip to S E Asia such an amazing and unforgettable experience.

10 days in Morocco through Odynovo

This is my 3rd trip with Odynovo first one to Morocco. We had a private tour for four people, and Gina, our travel consultant, did a great job of curating our itinerary and making necessary arrangements for our 10 day tour. All our hotels / riads were extremely nice properties. Mr. Amine, our driver, was a professional throughout our trip. He was absolutely perfect. We felt safe, taken care of, and he spoke English well. He was attentive to our questions and guided us throughout our trip. Our tour guide in Fez stood out as being extremely personable, and we enjoyed his company as well. We enjoyed our trip thoroughly and highly recommend Odynovo for tailor-made tours that meet your needs.

We had an excellent travel experience to Vietnam and Cambodia in March 2023 with Odynovo. Our travel consultant was Cathy Hou who was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Our guides and drivers in every city were excellent and everything went like clockwork. Thanks to Sunny in Hanoi, Tuan in Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue, Cuong in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, T in Siem Reap and Sam in Phnom Penh. Vietnam was made so easy with Odynovo. If you are lucky enough to have Cathy organize your itinerary, you are sure to have the smoothest trip! Cathy was amazing from the very beginning - tailoring the whole trip to what we wanted to see and do. She is so lovely and made sure we were happy with every detail before we went ahead to book it all. She thought of everything to make our holiday seamless. Private 13 day tour of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam

We took a private 13 day tour. It met our expectations completely. Our guides, especially Vannak in Cambodia, but also in Laos and in Vietnam were knowledgeable and helpful. We asked for short detours to visit war museums and memorials, which were all accommodated. Our accommodation was good and the food excellent. The trip was set up for us by Joan at the Odynovo office Australia, who was extremely helpful. We would recommend Odynovo highly and would travel with them again.

Great Company

This was our second trip with Odynovo and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are so helpful through the planning stage and our consultant Joan was great. We did a month trip in Thailand incorporating a 12 day tour around the country with our guide Nick and driver Mr P. It was so interesting and we saw some amazing places, ate great food, spent time with Thai people and a day with rescued elephants. We also added our own trip on the end and Odynovo co-ordinated the logistics of our transport between places and it all ran smoothly. Fabulous, thank you!

Beautiful tour to Jordan curated by Odynovo.

I was connected to Mr. Max Yang after I requested a tour to Jordan, and he was very kind, available easily and helped throughout the process before and during the trip. Max was extremely helpful in getting some additional bookings as well. Upon my arrival in Jordan, their airport representative made sure my immigration was smooth. For the next 5 days, I had Mr. Mohammed Madi as my driver guide, who was the absolute best part of my trip. A kind man who went above and beyond everything to make sure I was happy with my experience in Jordan. The car provided by Odynovo also was very comfortable, the guides spoke good English (which was a concern that I had before leaving), the hotels were upto the mark and all in all, it was a trip I will always remember! Thank you and I cannot wait to travel with this company again!

Trip to Japan and Korea

This is the first time we try a private trip for our family. Our thanks to Kevin from Odynovo who was excellent in planning the trip that covered everything we wanted to see. The choice of hotels was first rate. We were very happy with all our guides, 2 in Japan, 3 in Korea. We were rained out 2 out of 9 days in Japan and both guides tried to cover all items in the itinerary plus some side activities. Overall a very memorable experience.

Life-changing trip through Vietnam and Cambodia

Just got back from a 12-day trip across Vietnam and Cambodia. Explored and learned a lot about the rich cultures and histories of these countries in Saigon (thanks a lot to my local guide Louis!), and Phnom Penh and Siem Reap - special shoutouts to my local guides Darith and Raty who took special care and attention to all my questions especially about Angkor temples and Khmer food :) Kudos to the entire Odynovo team including my consultant Nikki Xia who tailor-fit this trip to make it as memorable as possible. Israel, Jordan and Egypt in 23 days My travel consultant Ms. Joan Qin is a 5 star, an excellent professional. She worked with me on designing exactly what I wanted, which with 23 days and three countries was not an easy task to begin with, but her suggestions, immediate responses and patience with me were above and beyond. The trip to Israel, Jordan and Egypt went as planned. An excellent care was provided to me. The airport reps and the guides were always on time and where they were supposed to be. Incredible service

We used Odynovo for a bespoke tour across China. Their entire service has been amazing, from helping us through the Visa application service (given this has only been open since march 2023 and we travelled in may/june 2023) to the customisation possibilities and the experience on the ground. We had a direct contact booking for us and making suggestions before the trip who also kept an eye out for us whilst we were there - and english speaking guides and comfortable cars in every destination we went to. Our whole experience was perfect - would 100% use them again.

A wonderful tour with a good agent

We just had a 3 wks tour around south East Asian countries, which was arranged by ODYNOVO. It was wonderful, we enjoyed it and the memories will go with us for a very long time.
