Music, Opera & Ballet tours

From the Nationaltheater Munich  to  Drottningholm's 18th-century Court Theatre , our music, opera and ballet tours offer access to the world’s greatest venues, pre-existing festivals and musical programmes. We plan meticulously so that you can relax and enjoy our trademark experience of top-category seats, the companionship of fellow music-lovers and lectures from leaders in their field. We offer a range of musical experiences, from the intimate chamber music and Lieder of a Schubertiade , to spectacular opera in Verona   and  Glyndebourne , and the world's finest soloists and orchestras in Lucerne .

On a grander scale, Martin Randall Festivals feature world-class performers in the finest and most historically apt venues. The cornerstone of every festival is the union of music and place, in glorious destinations such as Salzburg , Lincoln and Sicily ,  and in the form of journeys – along the Rhine Valley, or through central Germany in the footsteps of J.S. Bach.  They are organised and operated solely by MRT and are exclusive to our clients. Although numbers are much larger than on small-group tours – from 100 to 250 people – the principles of care, detail and intimacy, far from being diluted, are simply applied on a grander scale.

Finally, our  Chamber Music Breaks in the UK  offer the opportunity to hear – up-close – chamber music performed by leading ensembles and solo artists, all the while staying in comfort at famous and well-run hotels.

What do our

Customers say.

Lovely venues, lovely audiences, comfortable accommodation. Alahree was very prompt and efficient with her responses and understood our needs well.

Gill Chapman, Cecilia Singers, Berkshire

It was brilliant and everything I expected from a tour and more. Jonathan was brilliant. He was always patient with me and nothing seemed to phase him. Sabine was just wonderful, always willing to listen to what I suggested we wanted from the tour. She has endless patience. Playing at the Last Post was so moving, we felt very privileged to be able to perform at such a moving ceremony.

Guest Testimonials

Since we'd never been on a H.A.T. tour, we really didn't know what to expect from the Northern Italy tour we've now just completed. Would the hotels be as good as suggested by the website? What would the city tours and tour guides be like? How good would the seats at the operas be? Would the inter-city transportation run smoothly? Etc. Well, suffice to say that the tour exceeded our highest expectations!! The hotels, tours, tour guides, seats, and transportation were all terrific and, most important, Grethe and Aspee were there to make sure everything ran smoothly; to iron out the wrinkles that do inevitably occur on a tour, especially in Italy; to act as enthusiastic cheerleaders for our group; and to be charming and interesting travel companions. Keeping the group small also worked very well, maximizing enjoyment of the city tours and creating opportunities for wonderful new friendships. Count us in for future H.A.T. tours! Absolutely the best concert I was ever at, honestly I don't think any other artist could top this. She had such an incredible presence on stage, every eye was on her and her wonderful team. Dua and her dancers moved gracefully and fluidly, with bursts of power and energy. Her vocals were insanely beautiful, every word was sung with such passion and love. Her grand finale of IDGAF and New Rules was simply amazing, with breathtaking choreography and stunning visuals behind her. The band sounded great and the backup vocalists and dancers were on point for every minute. Without a doubt in my mind it was the very best live performance I have ever seen, and I don't think anything in the future will ever compare to it. Dua Lipa, Olympia Theatre, Dublin. Monday 9th April 2018.

Ethereal, hopeful, humble, powerful... just absolute ART. The show was focused on everyone, a celebration of culture, love, identities, and struggle. I love that she made it more about the group on stage as a whole than just her- Tons of stage presence nonetheless. Beautiful band, beautiful backup singers. The lighting was amazing and the stage was so well done and simple. Solange holds her own and I cannot wait to see her when she comes back. You can tell she was feeling it when she got down on the left side of the stage and started singing to us, beautiful moment that reminds me why I love going to live shows/concerts. Flying Lotus was an absolute trip as well. I wish she would've brought Kelela out on this date... Scales is such a beautiful song and I'd of loved to see it live with them two.

Moses Sumney

Moses was amazing. Very enigmatic but still approachable, and he had a lot of fun with the crowd. The performance was incredible, his voice is truly something to behold. I've listened to "Worth It" a million times but still got chills when he hit the high note. Would highly recommend seeing Moses live, especially before he gets really famous and expensive to see.

HAIM delivered everything I expected at this show, and more! This band has so many different things going for it, that it is hard not to see them having a long successful career. As a matter of fact, in the music business of old, when there were not 10 zillion bands out there, HAIM would be playing arenas and probably making Fleetwood Mac kind of money…The Wiltern isn't the best sounding venue for sure, but HAIM overcame this and totally kicked ass, playing the tunes off of "DAYS ARE GONE" with passion and skill. As good as they all are, (and special kudos also to drummer Dash and keyboardist Tommy) it is hard not to focus on Danielle Haim and her major rock star charisma. It doesn't hurt that she rips it up on guitar and is a pretty kick ass drummer too…All in all, HAIM was amazing, and I would go back tonight if I could get a ticket...

dan-rosman’s profile image

Absolutely incredible! The music sounded amazing live, not like anything I've heard before. Jónsi Birgisson's voice is incredible live also, even earning applause from the crowd for the length of some of the notes he pulled off. The visuals were stunning. The lights and background of the stage were beautiful. Overall a wonderful experience and will absolutely be seeing them again if I get the opportunity!

EmmaFlinch’s profile image

The most incredible, angelic, beautiful person to ever grace this earth. I've never been more stunned by a performance. SZA met and exceeded all of my expectations, I cannot put into words how amazing she is live. It's an experience you don't want to miss if you get the chance to see her. She was so happy and humble and was continuiously appoligizing for being sick and I honestly couldn't tell, that's how great she is. Also the experience brought me life not only because I got to see her preform but because everyone was singing every single word to every song with her. Truly incredible when you are surrounded in a room full of people singing your favorite songs at the top of their lungs. Needless to say I want a live version of ctrl after all of this so I can reminisce.

Music artists

For new users looking to follow their favorite bands and performers, our Artists pages are often the best place to start.

Whether you're on our site, or using our free app for iPhone and Android, the Songkick artists search engine is the fastest and simplest way to keep track of who's doing what right now. Be the first to learn which acts are touring, when they might be playing a venue near you, and how to get tickets for any future shows you like the sound of.

Looking to discover someone new? Hey, you’re our kind of music fan. That's why we've also included upcoming Live Stream Concerts alongside our artist searches, meaning you can easily schedule a more casual drop-in from the comfort of your couch.

Since launching our first app back in 2007, you guys - the fans, the concert-goers, the musical explorers - have been at the very heart of everything we do here. Our dream and our drive was always to bring Songkick members closer than ever before to the sounds they love, and the people who create them. Simply put, we pride ourselves on being your direct link to the greatest music artists on the planet.

Who are they, exactly? Well, according to our members, that changes almost by the hour...so let's talk about how Songkick keeps you in the loop.

Best live artists

A quick glance at our Most Popular Artists chart might tell you a few key things about the sorts of music fans we vibe with. For starters, it shows just how varied our members' tastes are. Pop, rock, dance, hip-hop, indie/alt and R&B all feature heavily, alongside a whole bunch of underground genres and rising scenes.

No two of you are quite the same - and frankly, we love to see it! Any time you check in, our 'most popular artists worldwide' and 'trending artists this week' leaderboards always read like a line-up for the greatest, most diverse live festival on Earth.

Among the top searches and best-selling music artists on our global roster, you might find anyone from Rhianna, Coldplay, Eminem and Ed Sheeran, through to Drake, U2, Kanye West,

Maroon 5, Beyoncé, The Midnight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber - and that's barely looking outside the top 20.

After all, if the weekly race for a spot on our most popular charts tells us anything, it's that the whole concept of 'best live bands' is a tricky one to pin down. Everybody's looking for a completely different type of experience, every night of the year.

That's another thing we love about our users: you're incredible at keeping us on our toes. In return, we’ve made it our mission to help keep you on yours.

Find and follow your favorite artists on Songkick

When people talk about the 'best live bands in the world', a few big names will reliably come up time and time again. Just as crucially, there'll always be a good handful of newcomers, hot tips and total curveballs in there too.

For us and our members alike, that's a huge part of what keeps the live concert scene so fresh and exciting. There's nothing quite like the thrill of discovering a new favorite artist you'd previously never even heard of - and when that discovery involves a performer blowing you away with an incredible live show or streamed concert, the feeling is enhanced tenfold.

Songkick started out with the goal of helping you capture that moment as often as possible. Now, more than a decade into this, it's 100% what we're still about today.

New members visiting our site or downloading the app can use our powerful search tools to stay ahead of the game. Simply log in with a user profile to keep tabs on more than 6 million bands, shows, festivals and live streams. "amazing experiences" gives an inside look at the life changing cultural, musical and social experiences that hundreds of students witness each summer traveling and performing as "musical ambassadors" with american music abroad tours, traveler impressions, what everyone is saying, we receive rave reviews from our students, vendors and concert goers throughout europe.

“I cannot begin to describe to you haw amazing this trip truly was for me. You have done something that I did not know was possible and changed 150 lives in three weeks. Your hard work and dedication to this trip is amazing and it is what made the trip the experience that it was. I want to thank you for inviting me on this tour and changing my life forever."

“I am so delighted that my son is feeling the freedom of the experience and is able to separate in a way that feels quite natural. It is showing me that he is enjoying his newfound liberty and growing into a young adult. Our collective job is to teach them to fly. This is an experience that is allowing them that to do just that under the guidance of the leaders."

“I wanted to let you know that my daughter had a fabulous experience with American Music Abroad. She loved the program, the travel and the music. She said she looked forward to every concert! I did not hear one negative comment about the trip. We are so thrilled that she participated this year. Thank you again for providing such an incredible opportunity for these kids."

“Having been the only participant from my high school, I wondered how I would become good friends with others. I have many many special friendships. To share an experience such as this one with others creates a bond with them. I have learned so much from this trip. From the rich history of Europe to the workings of relationships."

July 2024 was profoundly life changing. I had the honor of conducting the choir for the Empire Tour with American Music Abroad. It was my first time working with this company and the first time I had ever been to Europe. I had known about AMA for quite some time and was aware of the amazing opportunities it offered young musicians, but to be a PART of it was something entirely different altogether. The organization - both behind the scenes with AMA and the work that was done by our lead directors - BLEW ME AWAY! I have been in charge of countless field trips, and this was a well-oiled machine!

Most awaited European concert tours happening

Posted on Last updated: 6 January 2024

Home » Music » Most awaited European concert tours happening

If Rolling Stones and Garth Brooks had the  most successful music tours  in 2021, this year, we’ve got even more exciting names that will perform amazing shows. But other approaching tours are expected to occur around Europe in places where the whole world will gather.

If you want to get tickets and ensure your place on these tours, purchasing them early is best. At the same, ensuring you’ve got accommodation and learning how to get around these cities is essential, especially if you’re coming from the US, Asia or other areas. If you’re into a particular artist, you can follow their socials and get early access to some of their concerts’ locations at a lower price.

Let’s get into it!

music tours europe

Coldplay is one of the most known rock alternative bands around the world, most famous for songs such as  Speed of Sound, Clocks  or  Viva la Vida.  The London-based group was rewarded with multiple Grammys, and people compare its style with Radiohead and Oasis.

In 2023, Coldplay is doing a worldwide tour around Europe, the USA and Latin America. The concerts will start on the 17th of May in Portugal and will end on the 1st of October in the United States. The American locations are pretty near to each other, so if you’re coming from Boston, you might need to leave your car at the  Boston Logan airport parking .

Here are the European countries where Coldplay will sing:

  • Portugal (17-21 May)
  • Spain (24-28 May)
  • United Kingdom (31st May-7th June)
  • Italy (21-29 June)
  • Switzerland (1st and 2nd of July)
  • Denmark (5th and 6th of July)
  • Sweden (8-12 July)
  • Netherlands (15-19 July)

Metallica is one of the oldest rock bands in the world since it was founded in 1981. With multiple hits and impressive songs,  Enter Sandman  got to the top of the “ 500 Greatest Songs of all Time ”, while  Nothing Else Matters  entered the Billboard 200 as number one shortly after its release.

The 2023 Metallica world tour will primarily take place around Europe, but locations such as the US, Canada and Mexico are also on the list. The closest date to seeing Metallica is on the 13th of April in the Netherlands , but here are some other countries where you can find them:

  • France (17-19 May)
  • Germany (26-28 May)
  • United Kingdom (the 8th of June)
  • Finland (7-9 June 2024)
  • Poland (5-7 June 2024)
  • Spain (12-14 July 2024)
  • Mexico (20-29 September 2024)

The closest date to see Metallica in the US is on the fourth and sixth of August in East Rutherford. The nearest airport is in Boston, where you can get Logan airport parking in case you want to leave your car somewhere safe.

Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is yet another old but gold band founded in 1980 that mainly focuses on post-punk, synthpop and industrial rock. The group originated from the UK and is currently on the list of “50 Bands that changed the world” and “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”.

Regarding the tour, Depeche Mode will get across the whole world, so you don’t have to worry about missing them. Most Big European cities were chosen as concert locations, while Canada, the US and Mexico are also on the list. Here’s where to get your ticket:

  • Netherlands (16-18 May)
  • Belgium (the 29th of May)
  • Germany (4-6 June)
  • Spain (the 8th of June)
  • France (22-24 June)
  • Romania (26th July)
  • Poland (2-4 August)

Bruce Springsteen

The American singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen is known for his long-lasting and energetic concerts as well as impressive lyrics. Many of his singles reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 10, and almost all his albums were successful during his career.

His concert tour is not that expanded since, besides the US, Canada, Ireland and the UK, only a few European locations are set to be the locations for his concerts, like:

  • France (13-15 May)
  • Netherlands (25 and 27 May and the 11th of June)
  • Denmark (11-13 July)
  • Germany (the 21st of June and 15 and 23 July)
  • Austria (the 18th of July)

You can buy the tickets directly from his website, but some might need to be searched for on other third-party ticket vendors. Springsteen stated that he’s excited to see his “great and loyal fans” as he always valued the public.

Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer is famous for his unique soundtrack contribution to the most known movies and adaptations. He’s the one who composed music for  The Lion King, Dune  and  The Last Samurai . Hans reached the list of  Top 100 Living Geniuses.

In 2023, Hans Zimmer will be present mostly around Europe in the following cities:

  • Germany (the 23rd of April, the 9th of June)
  • Belgium (the 25th of April and the 22nd of June)
  • Italy (1-3 May)
  • France (6-9 May and 23-25 June)
  • Portugal (the 13th of May)
  • Spain (11-16 May)
  • Switzerland (22-23 May)
  • Poland (the 30th of May)
  • Czech Republic (the 2nd of June)
  • Austria (the 3rd of June)
  • Hungary (the 5th of June)
  • Slovakia (the 6th of June)
  • UK (14-16 June)
  • Ireland (the 18th of June)

How to prepare for traveling to Europe

If you’re outside the European Union, you might need to get your visa in check and analyze the price exchanges. While some European countries are relatively affordable, some leverage expensive accommodation and food, such as Austria, for example. At the same time, getting an adaptor and power strip might come in handy, as European adaptors are different from American ones.

What’s best in Europe is that you can get everywhere with cheap public transportation . Trains, buses and trams are everywhere so you won’t have to pay for taxis. The locals are usually welcoming, but it would be best to respect their culture and not be loud around cities. However, if you want to party before or after concerts, know that European bars and clubs are like no other!

Bottom line

This year is full of exceptional worldwide tours by excellent singers and bands. Regardless of the genre you listen to, the artists above are ageless and a staple in the music industry, so we recommend getting your tickets as soon as possible.

These small group tours in Europe will seek to go beyond the music to look at the influences on the artist or composer and how they interact with the unique musical history of cities diverse as London, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Munich, Dresden, Leipzig, and Bucharest amongst much more.

Often the history of the venue or opera house is shared with you and your companions to add to the unique experiences when you book on a 2021 small group classical music tours to Europe. The small group classical music tours offered each year to Europe are diverse. The itinerary of a tour package may range from a walking tour through the old town of a musical capital such as Vienna or Budapest, to musical performances of Europe‘s greatest composers. On our small group tours Germany opera houses remain a particular attraction where you can experience some of the best performances in the world in a range of cities outside of the capital Berlin, such as Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the the opera house theatre designed by Wagner in Bayreuth, Bavaria. Unique experiences are an important part of the cultural tours offered, ranging from Choral music, to a string quartet ensemble or piano recital, to jazz or a trip to Mozart’s birthplace with a great local tour guide. New music such as Phillip Glass may feature but music performances of Schubert, Bach, Satie or Mozart will also feature typically, because in small group tours Germany opera, as well as the composers of Austria and France, remain particularly popular.

7 Places In Europe Every Fan Of Classical Music Should Visit

music tours europe

  • History and Culture
  • Sightseeing
  • UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Lovers of classical music know that Europe is the magical place where the genre was born. Classical superstars like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms composed the gorgeous, intricate music for courts and churches throughout the continent.

What’s more, their music has stood the test of time. We’re still familiar with many of their masterworks, including Beethoven’s “Für Elise” and Symphony No. 5 and Mozart’s The Magic Flute . If your bucket list includes visits to the places where these great musicians lived, worked, and performed their music, look no further. We’ve got you covered!

Here are seven places in Europe every fan of classical music should visit.

The Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria.

emperorcosar / Shutterstock

1. Vienna, Austria

The undisputed crown jewel of Europe’s classical music scene is Vienna . Several generations of the greatest composers lived and worked in Vienna under the patronage of the House of Hapsburg. These composers included Mozart , who first performed for the Empress Maria Theresa at Schönbrunn Palace . After years of touring, he eventually settled there and married his wife, Constanze, at Saint Stephen’s Cathedral .

But it wasn’t just Mozart who made his mark on Vienna. Beethoven traveled to the city to study under Joseph Haydn (no slouch himself!) and lived there for 35 years. In the city, he kept an apartment at Pasqualati House , where he composed many of his most famous works. He eventually tired of the hubbub and settled outside the city in the verdant spa district of Heiligenstadt, and his rooms there were converted into a museum in 2017. The gorgeous spot outside the city center is easily accessible by tram. There’s even a charming wine tavern just steps away.

But Vienna’s musical heritage doesn’t stop there . You can visit the final resting place of many of these legends by taking a trolley out to the Central Cemetery , where Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Strauss, and Schoenberg are interred. Some modern-day music lovers are also opting for plots there for the chance to be buried among their idols.

Consider a curated walking tour of Vienna’s classical music monuments and sights, and get your fill of the city’s music live with a trip to the State Opera House . If you’re looking for an over-the-top classical music experience, consider snagging tickets to a waltz ball during the ball season from January through March. You’ll see just how important classical music is — even today — to Viennese culture and high society.

Mozart's childhood home in Salzburg, Austria.

Tourismus Salzburg

2. Salzburg, Austria

Just a 3-hour drive west of Vienna is the charming UNESCO World Heritage site of Salzburg. Situated on the banks of the Salzach River, Salzburg lays claim to Mozart in a big way. This is the place where the musical prodigy was born, and the rockstar of the genre is celebrated here everywhere you look.

No visit to the town would be complete without a stop at the place he was born and the home where he moved with his family when he was 17 (and by then, well established as a prodigy). Both buildings are now museums that celebrate Mozart’s incredible career and life.

Also, be sure to stop by the Salzburg Cathedral , established in 774. It’s the spot where Mozart was christened and where he played the organ as a small child. As you can imagine, there are concerts featuring his music here year-round, and it’s an absolute delight to listen to Mozart’s masterpieces in the place where he grew up.

Fans of classical music already making the trip to Vienna should absolutely add Salzburg to their itineraries.

3. Leipzig, Germany

Located in the eastern German state of Saxony, the city of Leipzig has more than its share of musical history.

Any music fan’s first stop in the town should be Saint Thomas Church , where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor from 1723 until his death in 1750. Here, he composed an enormous amount of baroque music, including both secular pieces and works for worship. Bach is now buried at the old Lutheran church, and the Leipzig Bach Festival , an internationally renowned music event, takes place there every June. Just across the way from Saint Thomas is the Bach Museum , which houses a collection of the composer’s original scores and manuscripts. Visitors can take a look at Bach’s impressive family tree and discover how music played an important role in his family through the generations.

Many years later, the acclaimed pianist Felix Mendelssohn arrived in Leipzig in 1835 to direct the Gewandhaus Orchestra. In Leipzig, he’d compose some of his most famous works, including his Scottish Symphony. Mendelssohn’s home is now a museum and furnished in period style.

4. Prague, Czech Republic

Mozart adored Prague , and its citizens adored him. It was in Prague that The Marriage of Figaro grew in popularity. After its success, his Don Giovanni premiered at Prague’s Estates Theatre , where you can still hear classical music today.

Mozart aside, a number of great Czech composers left their mark on the capital city . Bedrich Smetana composed lush music focused on his homeland, and a small museum dedicated to his work is located in a villa near the Charles Bridge.

Smetana’s contemporary Antonín Dvorák was born near the capital city, and today the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra performs in a hall that bears his name. As with Smetana, there’s a museum housed in a villa that celebrates — and often hosts concerts featuring — the music of Dvorák, which was distinct for combining orchestral music with traditional folk melodies.

5. Saint Petersburg, Russia

The imperial Romanovs loved music and were well known throughout Europe and around the world for their patronage of both composers and musicians. They commissioned operas, ballets, and orchestral compositions, which created a hub of incredible musical talent in Saint Petersburg .

Today, visitors can listen to the music of Russian greats like Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff at a number of stunning venues in the city. If possible, purchase tickets to a concert at the Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonia or the Saint Petersburg Chamber Opera .

The Saint Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music , located in the former management offices of the Imperial Theatres, gives visitors a nice overview of the Russian dramatic tradition. With its more than 3,000 artifacts, the Museum of Music , housed in a former palace, is also worth a stop.

Inside the Hungarian State Opera hall in Budapest.

posztos / Shutterstock

6. Budapest, Hungary

Hungary was once a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and there are some incredible places still around where fans of classical music can listen to their favorite genre live in the capital city of Budapest . The Hungarian State Opera routinely performs masterworks in its gorgeous, lavishly decorated hall; Gustav Mahler served as its director for several years. If you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to catch a chamber concert at Saint Stephen Basilica , don’t think twice — just get tickets!

Hungary produced several important musicians, including Franz Liszt, who was known globally during the 19th century as one of the world’s best pianists and composers. A museum dedicated to his life and music is located in the flat where he lived in Budapest. Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók wrote classical orchestral pieces in the 20th century and incorporated folk melodies and flavor into their works. Their museums in Budapest are also popular stops for classical music aficionados.

Edvard Grieg's estate, Troldhaugen, in Bergen.

Evikka / Shutterstock

7. Bergen, Norway

If your travels take you up to Norway, consider a stop at the home of Edvard Grieg, one of the country’s most famous composers.

Edvard Grieg was a leader during classical music’s Romantic period, and his music is part of the canon of the genre, including his Piano Concerto in A minor and Peer Gynt . This native son did much to elevate Norway’s status as a musical city, and Bergen, located in the southwestern fjords, pays tribute to him in a big way. Here, you’ll see lots of statues and monuments dedicated to Grieg, but the real showstopper is Troldhaugen outside the city center. This is the place where Grieg and his wife spent their summers. You can tour the estate where Grieg wrote his gorgeous music (including the composer’s hut, where Grieg could work in absolute silence) and get a feel for what life was like for the 19th-century maestro. It’s also Greig’s final resting place: Both Grieg and his wife are buried here. Troldhaugen hosts international piano competitions and concerts throughout the year.

Communication done well has always been Erika’s career focus. She’s served as a publicist and PR expert for several non-profit organizations based in St. Louis. Prior to that, she was an Emmy Award–winning television newscast producer.

When she’s not training for her next race or packing for another trip, you’ll find Erika hanging out with her husband, son, and personal zoo, which includes a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, two cats, and a grumpy pygmy hedgehog.

Revealed: the cheapest (and most expensive) European cities for gig tickets

Looking to turn a concert into a mini-break? Listen up

Liv Kelly

If the  Oasis reunion tour and the Eras Tour are anything to go by, it’s become practically impossible to get your hands on a reasonably-priced ticket to see your favourite artist in your own city. Cue the rise of ‘gig-tripping’, where fans  buy a ticket for a show elsewhere, and stretch that ticket into a mini break.

But where on the continent will your money go the furthest? Luggage storage platform Radical Storage has looked into the average cost of concert tickets in locations across Europe alongside the most expensive artists to see live.

The cheapest place to see a gig in Europe  is  Nottingham , with an average ticket costing €67. Antwerp claimed second place with €89 and Birmingham claimed third with €91.

Feeling flush? Milan is apparently the most expensive place to see a gig, with the average price a staggering €377. Marbella came second with tickets costing roughly €293, and Munich came in third with an average price of €230.

News that the legendary British band Oasis are reuniting to tour Britain is generating much interest among European fans, who are already planning to cross the English Channel next summer.

Apparently, Italians are in the lead.

It’s the good news that has brightened up the end of the summer, at least for fans nostalgic for the 1990s. Fifteen years after splitting up in true rock ‘n’ roll style at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, Oasis – and its frontmen, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher – appear to have buried the hatchet.

A tour has even been announced for summer 2025, with dates in Britain only.

That was all it took for fans in Europe to start making plans for next year’s summer vacation. On the very day that news of the tour dropped (Aug 27), flight searches to all the cities hosting the concerts soared by an average of 2,838% on the booking platform eDreams.

This is based on data from searches carried out on eDreams travel platforms for journeys in July and August 2025 to Oasis’ 2025 tour dates and venues (Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Cardiff), compared to the same dates the previous year.

Less touristy than London, the city of Cardiff in Wales is logically very popular, with a boom in searches up 121 times compared to the same date a year earlier.

The French are particularly interested in heading to the Welsh capital so as not to miss out on the event.

They could also be heading to Manchester, if not Edinburgh in Scotland, if the strongest increases in searches are anything to go by.

However, French fans are not the most eager to cross the English Channel to catch their favourite band live on stage. According to eDreams data, it’s Italian fans who lead the way as the most interested in taking a trip to Britain in 2025 following the Gallagher brothers’ announcement.

Other most interested European fans are, in descending order, those from Spain, Germany, Britain and France. – AFP Relaxnews
