Visa Invitation Letters for Kyrgyzstan

A Visa Invitation Letter for a Kyrgyz is a letter that the applicant has to submit to the Kyrgyz embassy or consulate where they are applying for a visitor visa and needs to be addressed either to the applicant or to the consular officer, confirming that they will accommodate the applicant in their home for the whole period of their stay in the country where the host lawfully resides.

What are the important details which should be in a Visa Invitation Letter?

The visa invitation letter must contain the following information about the host:

  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Type of home (owned / rent house / flat / room)
  • Host’s residential status in the host country

On the other side, the letter must also include the following information about the guest:

  • Full name as shown on their International Passport
  • The person’s address and telephone number
  • Relationship between the host and the guest
  • The purpose of the trip (friendly visit, holiday, wedding, birthday party.)
  • Exact entry date and exit date
  • If the letter is addressed to the guest do not make it sound too official. It is better if it sounds more personal and friendlier rather than formal, so that the consular officer can have a better sight of the relationship between the host and the guest.

Who can provide a Visa Invitation Letter?

The person providing the visa inviation letter must fulfill the following requirements in order for the letter of invitation to be valid:

  • Must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the Kyrgyzstan
  • Must be your family member / relative or friend, boyfriend / girlfriend
  • Must have a registered place (appartment or house) in Kyrgyzstan
  • Must have enough room for the applicant or the applicant and his or her family members if the applicant is travelling to Kyrgyzstan with his or her family
  • On some occations, the Letter of Invitation is not required by the Kyrgyz embassy, but it is strongly recommended to submit one even if not required.

Going for a visa interview at the embassy? The visa officer at the Kyrgyz consulate will look over your application and ask you questions if they wish to clarify anything. It is best to answer these questions honestly.

  • What is your purpose of your trip to Kyrgyzstan?
  • Do you know anyone living in Kyrgyzstan?
  • What is your current occupation?
  • How long have you been in your current occupation?
  • If you are a student, when will the studies finsh?
  • How will you suuport yourself whilst in Kyrgyzstan?

  • What are your plans when you return from your trip?
  • What will you do if your visa application is rejected?
  • What is your marital status?
  • Will you be involved in business in Kyrgyzstan?

Common reasons why your Kyrgyz visa application got rejected include:

  • Lack of funds – you must be able to afford your trip Kyrgyzstan and you must provide documents to show that you can.
  • Proof of accommodation not provided – you must be able to show where you will be staying in Kyrgyzstan and you can easily do this by providing a hotel reservation in Kyrgyzstan.
  • The visa officer thinks you will not return to your home country – you must make it clear that you intend to leave Kyrgyzstan and return to your home country before the expiry of your visa. You can do this by providing documents that show you have ties where you live, such as an employment letter or proof that you own your home etc.
  • No proof of residence – you must be able to prove that you can live in the country of your residence legally, so you must provide proof of residence.

Kyrgyzstan tours

Kyrgyzstan hotels, kyrgyzstan cities, about kyrgyzstan,   visa to kyrgyzstan.

Every foreign visitor is required to have a valid passport and some country's citizens need a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan. Visas are issued at the Kyrgyz Embassy in the visitor's home country. In countries, where Kyrgyzstan does not have an Embassy, Consulate or Diplomatic Representative, the visa can be obtained at the Embassy of Kazakhstan or the Embassy of Russia.

Kyrgyzstan provides 30, 60 & 90 visa-free regimes for certain lists of countries .  Citizens of other countries should apply for a visa through the Internet or in Manas airport.

Duration of tourist visa: 90 or 60 days.

Usage: single entry/double entry.

Cost: $55 or $65 for a group visa.

Where to apply:   http://www.evisa.e-gov.kg/

Limitless stay: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cuba*, Kazakhstan, Moldova, North Korea, Russia, Tajikistan and Vietnam*.

*citizens of these countries have to provide a document that states a permanent residentship of their outcome.

90-days stay  Mongolia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

60 days: countries of EU, except Bulgaria and Cyprus and Romania; and listed below:  Andorra,  Argentina,  Australia,

Bahrain,  Bosnia, and Herzegovina,  Brazil,  Brunei,  Canada,  Chile,  Iceland,  Japan,  Kuwait,  Liechtenstein,  Monaco,  Montenegro,  New Zealand,  Norway,  Oman,  Qatar,  San Marino,  Saudi Arabia,  Singapore,  South Korea,  Switzerland,  United Arab Emirates,  United States,  Uzbekistan.

30 days: Mongolia and Turkey.

Group visa: a requirement for a group of 5 tourists traveling together. The visa comes up as a list of pre-printed A4 format with a sticker on it. You can present it upon arrival at the airport in Kyrgyzstan.

Cost: $65/person.

If you’re coming by car, train or bus, you can’t use a group visa, because there are no consular posts on the border points. You should follow the default way and get a typical visa by LOI.

LOI (Letter of invitation)

It's required for getting a tourist visa. Almost every passport holder needs to provide it to the tourism agent by request.

These countries’ citizens don’t need to bother about getting an LOI:  Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Brazil. Bulgaria, Chile, Cyprus, Indonesia, Israel, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, Oman, Philippines, Romania, San Marino, South Africa, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Venezuela.

Citizens of these countries also do not need to register at local OVIR. All others do. It takes 2 weeks for LOI to arrive and after notification, you can apply for an E-Visa.

Important information: please, do not specify that you’re unemployed or not married, because of the local social prejudices it's not recommended to do so.  Tourists coming from the Indian subcontinent, Arabic countries and Africa could be asked to apply for a visa through the embassy. There you will probably be asked to pay the fee in cash.

As a general rule, citizens of countries that require visas to enter Kyrgyzstan will need to register within 5 days of entering the country. Failure to register will result in a 10,000 som fine, and border guards will not let you leave the country until it has been paid. This may result in missing flights and extra expenses.

Uzbekistan is a notable exception, as citizens do not need a visa but need to register.

Citizens of the following 92 countries are exempt from registration of stay in Kyrgyzstan for a period shown below.

There are some regions that require additional documentation in order to visit or pass through. Most of these regions are near the border with China, in Issyk-Kul and Naryn Provinces. Since Advantour cannot be liable for alpinism or adventure sports in these regions, the only option we will issue border permits is for light treks and guided tours in these regions. Be aware that attempting to travel to these regions without a permit can be dangerous, and may result in serious trouble with the Kyrgyz government. These regions include Karkyra, Inylchek, the areas around Pobeda Peak and Khan Tengri, Kel-Suu, At-Bashi, Ak-Sai, Peak Lenin, and near Torugart.

How to Apply for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa with an Indian Passport

How to Apply for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa with an Indian Passport

This is one of the most asked question on my Instagram DMs . After personally responding to these messages, I thought it’d be more beneficial to have a definitive guide on how to apply for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians because as much as I’d prefer it to be, it’s not a straightforward process.

Krygyzstan e-visa for Indians Full Process

Once you know when you want to travel to Kyrgyzstan, follow these steps to apply for e-visa

Step 1: Procure documents like passport copy, digital photo, stay confirmation.

Step 2: Request for LOI (Letter of Invitation) from a local Kyrgyzstan agency.

Step 3: Fill the e-visa application form on the official website and make the payment.

Step 4: If there’s no issues with the application, you’ll receive your e-visa on your email within 5 working days.

Pre-requisite for Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians

Citizens of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka can apply for a tourist visa only at the invitation of one of the travel companies registered with the Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic. Which means, you first need to request a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from a local Kyrgyz agency.

The only exemption to this rule is if you have a resident card in one of the following states, you can attach it instead of an invitation: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Brunei, Oman, Bahrain.

How to procure LOI for Kyrgyztan evisa

It can be done through 2 options:

  • A local Kyrgyz agency can apply for e-visa on your behalf. It costs upwards of 150 USD. In case of emergencies, this is the best option as they offer 1-day visa as well.
  • You request a local Kyrgyz agency for a LOI and then apply for the e-visa yourself.

I did the latter as it’s a more budget-friendly option.

I reached out to [email protected] which was suggested to me by a friend.

They charged 50 USD and I received the letter of invitation in a few days once I shared the documents and information (scanned passport copy, travel dates, place of stay, planned place of visit).

Once I received the LOI, I was ready to apply for e-visa.

What documents do you need before applying for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa?

  • Scanned Passport copy
  • Digital Photo
  • Stay (can book a refundable stay through booking.com )
  • Letter of Invitation (LOI)
  • Credit/debit card to make visa payment

Note: Flight tickets aren’t required to apply for e-visa.

Apply for e-visa through the Official Website

I applied for a single-entry 30 days e-visa through the official Krygyzstan e-visa website .

Find the screenshots of the website below. It involves filling basic applicant details and details of the Inviting Organization (LOI).

How to apply for kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians

Inviting Organization is easy to miss as it’s not a new screen but on the right tab. This is where you add details mentioned in the LOI. The organization name and state registration number was provided to me by the local Kyrgyz agency.

Along with my passport and photo, I also uploaded the LOI document that I received from the agency.

inviting organization screen kyrgyzstan evisa

Once you have all these details filled, you can now make the payment.

Once the payment is done, you’ll receive an email confirming the submission of application with a reference number. Using this reference number, you can check the status of the application.

How much is the e-visa for Kyrgyzstan?

There are 3 options to book e-visa:

Additionally LOI costs about 50 USD, so overall cost of the visa is upwards of 100 USD.

Since I was traveling in the region (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan), it made sense for me to explore Kyrgyzstan as well even though the e-visa itself costed over 100 USD, which in my opinion, is relatively expensive.

Frequently Asked Questions about Krygyzstan e-visa

While the neighbouring Kazakhstan offers free visa for Indians, Kyrgyzstan unfortunately isn’t visa free. Although, you could apply online for an e-visa to Kyrgyzstan without having to visit an embassy or a visa application center.

Official duration for Kyrgyzstan visa processing time is 5 working days but it also depends on whether or not your application was returned due to some issues. As for me, my application was returned due to poor quality of passport photo within 5 working days. I was asked to send the passport in full size. Once I re-submitted the document, I received the visa within a week. However, it took me 3 weeks altogether from submitting the application first to receiving the e-visa since I was not able to promptly re-submit documents as I was traveling in no network area.

Kyrgyzstan e-visa is relatively easy to get even though it requires an additional step of procuring an Letter of Invitation (LOI) first. Also, you don’t need documents like flight tickets which saves a lot of hassle. Apart from the Letter of Invitation (LOI), all you need is the scanned passport copy, digital photo, and stay confirmation.

Hi, Thank you for the detailed information. I heard the visa rejection rate is high and they can reject your visa without giving you any reasons. Do you think its advisable to apply on your own in such cases?

' src=

Yes there aren’t many Indians traveling there but I didn’t have any issues. All the people that I have recommended (more than 10 so far) have received visas. It’s not an issue applying on your own as long as you have all the documents in place

Hi, I emailed [email protected] and they sent me the number of their Indian partner with a UPI number to make the payment of 50$/person. I just wanted to check with you if you did the same thing.

Thanks Supreeth

Yes that’s exactly what I did.
