Is Billie Eilish going on tour with her third studio album?

By Abbie Reynolds

Billie Eilish just announced her third album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' is coming out in May 2024, but is she taking her new music on tour? Here's what we know.

Listen to this article

Since September 2023, Billie Eilish has been teasing fans about new music and now she has officially announced that her third studio album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' is coming out May 17th 2024.

2024 has been a massive year for Billie already as she made history with her second Oscar win , as well as taking home 'Song Of The Year' at the Grammys . And now the 22-year-old singer songwriter is adding an album release to her list of 2024 accomplishments.

Billie concluded her ' Happier Than Ever ' tour in April 2023 and it seems that from the moment she stepped off of the stage fans have been willing her to go on tour again.

Now that she has new music ready, will a tour follow? Here's what we know.

Billie Eilish's last performance was at the 2024 Oscars

Will Billie Eilish be going on tour with her new album 'Hit Me Hard And Soft'?

Billie is yet to reveal whether or not she is taking her new album on tour, but it's likely that she will. What she has revealed is that she won't be doing any single releases ahead of the new album's drop.

When she announced the album on her Insta she said that she's "not doing singles" because she wants to "give it to you all at once".

The 'Lost Cause' singer went on tour for her first two albums 'When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?' and 'Happier Than Ever', so it's highly likely that she'll also being taking this album on tour.

Billie pulled out all the stops for the promotional campaign of 'Hit Me Hard And Soft' so we'd be surprised if she dropped the album without news of a tour to follow it.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by BILLIE EILISH (@billieeilish)

She teased the new album with billboards across the world that featured big blue text, reading things like "do you know how to bend?" and "she's in the headlights", which we assume are lyrics from her new music.

To make sure the whole world was ready for the album announcement she also pulled an Instagram stunt where she added all of her following to her 'close friends list'. This peaked people's curiosity and boosted her following count, when she first did this she had 111 million followers and on the day she announced her new album she had 120 million.

The entire album comes out on May 17th and we'll be looking for any clues before then, or after, that point to Billie going on tour this year. And as soon as we know, we'll update this page!

I went to her show in Boston, 2018. The show was great, I really liked her performance, however, my brother who was with me at the time noted that she was singing along to her own vocals with her song, so it wasn’t just the instrumental. For me, the wait in the venue was really a downside. The doors opened at 7, nothing happened until 8, the opening act started and ended at 8:30, and then we waited for another 30-40 minutes. My brother even told me when it was 9 that if she hadn’t come out by 9:30, we’d just leave. Hearing that after waiting four hours before even getting in made me sad. The concert was great though, but the worst part of it for me was the people in front of me. I know it isn’t billie’s fault herself, but I felt that maybe I should say this as a review of my experience. There was a girl beside me who kept glancing at me every two seconds on purpose as if I was doing something wrong!! I don’t know if it was because of my coat (which I couldn’t do anything about, everyone was cramped together anyways, but she was so annoying and aggravating!!!! I was honestly about to tell her something, and my brother noticed too. The fans around me were kind of rude, like going into a space for handicapped people, and pushing against people who were handicapped. But beyond that, maybe if I was actually able to see the show and not have to look through the cracks of two heads, I would have enjoyed it so so much more. So if you’re short and there’s no seats at the venue, I suggest you get there really really early! 4 hours wasn’t enough for me, but it depends.

Seeing Billie Eilish in concert was a great pleasure !

The energy that she gives to the audience is crazy, the control she has on her voice, her dance moves, the musicians with her and her being so young are all the facts that make her concerts amazing.

She is close to her public and really owns the stage, I honestly think she is going to do very great in the music industry if she goes on like this.

The public that attends her concerts is also quite young, problably in a range from 15 to 25. As for the kind of music she makes, I am really not a specialist but if I had to describe it, I would definitely use the words "chill", "confidence", "energy" and "f*ckyou".

As a plus : I personnaly love the fact that she writes and plays with her brother, I think they have such a special bond, it's nice to see them together !

My point of view is really altered beacause I love everything about her, but still, I think you have to see this all by yourself ;)

The Billie Eilish WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO show was the best night of my life. It was super rainy before the show started and there was a severe weather warning throughout the opener, Denzel Curry. A lot of people left and took shelter, but since it was GA, my group and I stayed put. Denzel was an absolutely AMAZING opener, and he had SOO much energy. His songs were amazing, especially Clout Cobain, my current favorite song ever, other than Billie’s songs. After the opener, there was songs blasting through the speakers, such as Ariana Grande, and Sam Smith. I’m pretty sure Billie picked these songs and that were a great way to get ready for her. It began to get really dark in the sky, and the rain stopped. It was time for the show. There were lights and they turned off and her intro started playing. The show started and she had so much energy and she was so happy. The concert was insane.

It was the best show. Really. If you have any chance to see her take it . The energyyyy. I can’t even describe it. I can still feel it when I think about the show . And she was sooo cute I love her. She got emotional and cried a bit and she thanked us and said that we are the reason that she is living a dream she was so sweet. And for all the songs she was hyped and the whole arena was jumping, screaming, singing just enjoying the show. And when she sang the last song she left and we were all screaming and clapping and screaming Billie because we didn’t want it to end . And then she got back and bad guy went on again and let me tell you that shit was craaazyy. We all gave everything to the song and it was epic . Really , really amazing and I wish I could go again and again on every single show there is. I love her so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Epic.

I absolutely loved this show!! The way the theater was built, every seat had a great view and it wasn’t too far from the stage. I loved the show very very much. Billie’s graphics and the way she uses her props are amazing, ESPECIALLY the videos and the way she incorporates them into her lyrics. And the way her and her brother (Finneas o’connell) get along are adorable. She talks to the audience enough to get them hyped up for the next song! Billie sadly sprung her foot a few days before the show, but that didn’t stop her from doing ANYTHING, she was a trooper and kept the show going and exciting. Absolutely loved it and so did my family & friends, billie is such an awesome person and i’m so glad i got to go. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to her concert if you can, you will NOT regret it. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

I am a 51 year old Mother of a 15 year old daughter. This was her first concert and she brought a friend. I wasnt that familiar with Billie Eillish but found her to be crazy talented. Her show was filled with amazing theatrics. The relationship between her and her brother Is so sweet. Great Show! Not usually a fan of rap but also enjoyed Denzel Curry. Denzel was nice enough to stop the show when an audience member fainted. At that point he saiid he wanted everyone to have fun but to be safe. He had his crew pass out cold bottled water to as many people as they could. Next time Billie comes to KC, I bet she can fill a bigger auditorium such as Sprint Center. Overall a great experience and a memory for my daughter that she got to see her idol!

Billie Eilish was outstanding! It was one of the best nights ever! Her performance was perfect and vocals on point. I was crying my eyes out! The only problem was the General Admission sections. At first it didn’t seem too bad when we were waiting for Billie but, it so much worse. Everybody from the back started pushing and pushing us. I got bruises on both my arms. I understand that it’s General Admission but there certainly was no need to push. I even saw girls my age (12) getting pushed and trampled. It was horrific. Other than all that, Billie was absolutely the best. If you want to go to her concert, I suggest you spend a little more money on VIP tickets and ensure the best view (and you also won’t get pushed as much).

This was my first concert, I was kinda nervous for it to be standing crowd but OH MY GOD I CRIED! Billie was soooo amazing, I can’t even put it into words. The best part was how she told everyone to be in the moment and just live how you are, I felt so good then, she is the most pure human I’ve ever seen. The funniest part was probably when someone threw something on stage and the next thing Billie said was “that was definitely a bra”. She lit up my life, and having Denzel Curry open was so cool. They are both such woke people and it really changed how I see people that are famous, I thought most celebrities were uptight and dicks, but they were so nice! I LOVED IT SOOO MUCH!!

the billie eilish concert in slc was absolutely amazing. i have been to A LOT of awesome concerts in my life and none compare to her. she did so great. she was always dancing and moving around and the energy around her made u want to have a good time. i love how billie isn’t afraid to be herself and how she will just do whatever she wants. it was pretty crazy to be in the mosh pit because everyone just wanted to be closer to her so we were all shoving and pushing our way to the front. but overall this concert was incredible and i don’t think i will ever be able to go to a concert that out does billie eilish. thank u billie for an amazing night

Before the concert it took a little while longer to set up so the opening act had to stay out for a little longer and keep the crowd etertained. But once it got going the room imidiately lit up. The concert was very high energy and billie has such a great stage presence. Her voice live sounds amazing and her confidence was incredible. The same goes for her brother Phineas who performed with her. Both before and after the show she greeted non VIP fans who stayed late or got there early and she was really kind to them. One of the best and intimate concert experiences I’ve ever had and I hope to see her again live.

Live music is finally returning to B.C., with a slew of events scheduled for the coming weeks — kicked off by a long-awaited performance by Grammy Award-winning Billie Eilish.

The American singer-songwriter performed Thursday night at Rogers Arena for her Happier Than Ever tour after it was postponed two years ago at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fans from all over the province made their way to Vancouver for the show, lining up for hours ahead of time to get a good vantage point. Amy Schweitzer, who travelled from Kelowna, told CBC's Stephen Quinn she couldn't wait to watch the "diverse'' and "unique" singer's performance.

"Just to be in her presence, I've seen so many videos online of her performing and it just looks like an unreal experience," she said.

Fans lined up for hours ahead of the show in order to get good seats for the packed show, with those attending expressing joy at being part of a crowd after two years of restrictions.

It's not the only live music to make a return.

Performance 'a core truth'

Students from the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria spoke to CBC's Robyn Burns about preparing for their first live performance in front of a full theatre audience, Shrek: The Musical , which is set for May 6.

"Performing to me is getting to the core truth of what it is to be a human and putting that out to an audience that maybe doesn't know how to feel those feelings on a day-to-day basis," student Jeremy James Sinclair said.

This weekend, Prince George is hosting the 2022 edition of the Coldsnap Music Festival  and an Indigenous music and culture festival from Lytton will be part of the inaugural Ignite the Arts Festival  in Penticton.

Meeka Morgan, artistic director of 'Q'əmcín 2 Rivers Remix , told CBC Radio it's been a hard two years filled with crises, but healing from the arts has kept her going.

"The work itself is really what carried us through the devastation and continues to," she said.

billie eilish tour canada 2024

Ian Tostenson, president of the B.C. Restaurant and Food Services Association, told CBC the return of these events has been great, and that they help businesses that were struggling over the last couple of years.

"Anything that brings out people like sunshine, concerts, hockey games, all those kinds of things, invariably, a person is going to stop at a coffee shop, go for lunch, go for a snack, maybe stay downtown, have a cocktail, so it makes a lot of difference."

  • Video B.C. lifts most COVID-19 restrictions as long as masks and vaccine cards are used

Schweitzer said the concert will be different from what she has become used to, but that she still couldn't wait to go.

"It'll definitely be weird because it'll be the first big gathering I've been to, technically, but everyone has to be vaccinated to go in, which makes me feel a little bit safer."

The province lifted most of its COVID-19 restrictions in mid-February, permitting indoor and outdoor organized gatherings, as well as indoor seated events, to return to full capacity as long as attendees wear masks and B.C. vaccine cards are used.

Corrections

  • This story originally stated that students at the Canadian College of Performing Arts are preparing for their first live performance since the pandemic started. It has been updated to reflect the fact they are preparing for their first live performance with a full audience, as they have been performing to virtual and limited audiences under B.C.'s public health guidelines. Following a year-long hiatus from music, music superstar Billie Eilish has announced a new album, and she just released tour dates across North America! Following a meteoric rise to success in 2019, Eilish has become a top name in contemporary music and a social media force, with over 85 million followers on Instagram.

Eilish’s first studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was more or less an immediate hit, with multiple songs reaching multi-platinum status. Produced by her brother, Finneas O’Connell, the album was praised for seamlessly combining multiple genres, ranging from classic instruments like piano and guitar to, for lack of a better term, industrial effects reminiscent of ‘SoundCloud rappers’ or producers like Clams Casino.

In addition to raw vocal talent and amazing production, Eilish very quickly became a fashion icon due to her adoption of aggressive street style aesthetics, which included oversized hoodies, bootlegs of famous fashion brands, and a rapidly changing hairstyle.

North America: Verified Fan registration is now open until 11:59pm PT on 5/23. Sign up for Verified Fan to get early access to tickets for Billie’s North American tour dates on 5/26 at 12pm local time. Public on-sale begins 5/28 at 12pm local time. https://t.co/6ozTjNIcxe pic.twitter.com/AstVsjMZpw — billie eilish (@billieeilish) May 21, 2021

We give all this preamble to highlight Eilish’s new look, as featured in a recent  Vogue photoshoot. Donning haute-couture pieces and with platinum blonde hair, Eilish emerged in 2021 in complete ownership of her image as always, but with an undoubtedly new look.

Listening to her singles released ahead of  Happier Than Ever, her sophomore album, it’s clear that fans are about to see yet another side of the incredibly talented singer. Relying more on classic instruments, but with a clear capacity to create the sounds that initially brought her fame, the new album is, by all indications, the evolution of one of the most interesting stars around.

Which is why we’re excited that she’s included three Canadian cities on her upcoming North American tour! Eilish is scheduled to play back-to-back shows in Montreal and Toronto in February, and will be visiting Vancouver at the end of March.

You’re darn right we’re getting tickets, folks! That’s why we’re sharing the news!

All the surprise guest appearances at Coachella 2024, from Billie Eilish to Will Smith

  • Coachella's 2024 lineup features huge acts including Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, and Sabrina Carpenter.
  • Some of the acts brought out guest performers during their sets.
  • Shakira, Paris Hilton, and Will Smith were just some of the stars who surprised audiences.

It's April and that means one thing: music fans and A-listers are flocking to the Colorado Desert for Coachella .

This weekend was the first of three, with a lineup including Lana Del Rey, No Doubt, and Sabrina Carpenter. In the crowd were stars from Barry Keoghan and Megan Fox to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, while Jeff Bezos was seen waiting to see Del Rey with his fiancé, Lauren Sánchez.

It's easy to see why it's a huge event on the cultural calendar, and things have changed a lot since 25,000 watched Rage Against the Machine in the desert at the first Coachella in 1999. But there's chatter that it's losing its shine, as it shifted tickets at a slower rate than it had done in a decade this year, The Guardian reported.

Those who did make it to the desert were treated to a string of surprise performances, from acts including Billie Eilish and Shakira.

Billie Eilish sang Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games.'

Billie Eilish joined Del Rey during her set, where she performed her own song, "Ocean Eyes," before the pair sang "Video Games" on a balcony together.

Will Smith performed 'Men in Black' during J. Balvin's set, wearing a very appropriate suit.

The actor and rapper also wore black shades, just like his character in the 1997 sci-fi comedy. He was even joined by alien dancers.

Olivia Rodrigo performed with No Doubt.

No Doubt reunited on Saturday at Coachella, where they were joined by Olivia Rodrigo for their 2000 track, "Bathwater." Rodrigo previously told Vogue that No Doubt was a huge musical inspiration to her when growing up.

Shakira performed her song with Bizarrap during his set.

During Bizarrap's set, Shakira came out to perform their new song "La Fuerte," before moving on to "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53." The "Hips Don't Lie" singer also announced her upcoming tour, called the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, and Charlie Wilson joined Tyler the Creator.

Tyler the Creator's creative set started with him descending onto the stage on a wire while dressed as a park ranger, and he kept audiences on their toes by bringing out A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, and Childish Gambino.

Gambino, also known as Donald Glover , performed "Running Out of Time" from Tyler's 2019 album, "Igor."

'The L Word' cast introduced Reneé Rapp.

Reneé Rapp was one of the biggest names on the bill this year, and she was introduced by the cast of "The L Word," the groundbreaking '00s show about a group of lesbian and bisexual women living in LA.

Stars Leisha Hailey, Jennifer Beals,Katherine Moennig, and the show's creator, Ilene Chaiken all welcomed Rapp to the stage on Sunday.

Kesha also joined Rapp during her set

Rapp then brought out Kesha, and the pair performed Kesha's 2010 hit, "TiK ToK," together.

Peso Pluma surprised the audience with Becky G.

Becky G brought Peso Pluma out during her Coachella set in 2023, and he repaid the favor this year by inviting her to join him during his performance on Friday, where they sang "Chanel."

Paris Hilton played games with Vampire Weekend

Paris Hilton played a game of cornhole with Vampire Weekend in the middle of their set on Saturday. She joked that she hadn't played it since she was on the 2004 E! reality TV show "The Simple Life" with Nicole Richie.

Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish

When Billie Eilish called Lana Del Rey “the reason for half of you b—-es existence, including mine” during her surprise appearance at the “Summertime Sadness” singer’s Coachella set over the weekend, she wasn’t kidding.

Lana Del Rey Says Her Tour Manager Quit a Month Before Coachella: ‘Never Got a Phone Call, Probably…

Trending on billboard.

The post comes nearly a week after Eilish took the main stage at Coachella to sing “Ocean Eyes” as a duet with Lana — as well as help the headliner perform her own Born to Die single “Video Games.” At the time, Del Rey told the crowd that the dreamy, Finneas-produced track was her favorite song of Eilish’s and called the Swarm star the “voice of our generation.”

Eilish replied at the time, “[She] is the reason for half you b—-es existence, including mine.”

The “What Was I Made For?” artist has previously praised Lana’s impact, telling Dua Lipa in August that Born to Die “changed music.” “[The album] especially changed music for girls and the potential of what is possible,” she added on the “Levitating” singer’s At Your Service podcast.

In the eight years since she kickstarted her career with “Ocean Eyes,” Eilish has released two Billboard 200 -topping LPs, won nine Grammys and built a fanbase that includes well over 100 million followers on Instagram. Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, arrives May 17, as announced earlier this month.

“finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it,” she wrote at the time. “love you love you love you.”

About Billie Eilish

As Billie Eilish  prepares for the July, 30th, 2021 release of her highly anticipated sophomore album  ‘Happier Than Ever,’  the 19-year-old Los Angeles native remains  one of the biggest stars to emerge in the 21st century. Since the release of her debut single “ ocean eyes ” in 2015, Eilish continues to shatter the ceiling of music with her genre-defying sound. Fast forward from her humble breakout, her album  WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?  debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S as well as 17 additional countries around the world upon release in 2019, and was the most streamed album of that year.  WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?  was written, produced and recorded entirely by  Billie Eilish  and brother  FINNEAS  in their childhood home of Los Angeles.   Billie Eilish  went on to make history as the youngest artist to receive nominations and win in all the major categories at the  62nd GRAMMY® Awards , receiving an award for  Best New Artist,   Album of the Year ,  Record of the Year ,  Song of the Year,  and  Best Pop Vocal Album .  Billie Eilish  is also the youngest artist to write and record an official  James Bond  theme song, ‘ No Time To Die.’  Most recently,  Billie Eilish  was nominated for four additional awards at the  63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards  in 2021, and took home both  Record of the Yea r for  'everything i wanted ,' and  Best Song Written For Visual Media  for  'No Time To Die.’ Billie Eilish’s  forthcoming album  ‘Happier Than Ever’  was written by Billie and her brother  FINNEAS,  who also produced the album.
