Lahore Safari Park is a wildlife reserve located in Lahore, Pakistan, spread over an area of 242 acres. It is home to a variety of exotic animals including lions, tigers, elephants, zebras, and deer. Established in 1972, the Lahore Safari Park is one of the centers of wildlife in the otherwise bustling city. Spread over a huge area, this park has many attractions such as Indian peafowl, Bengal tiger, common pheasant, emu, lion, mute swan, nilgai, ostrich and silver pheasant among a few others. A favorite one with the kids, this park offers them opportunities for boating and other activities. The park boasts of a huge lake which is the biggest in the city, complete with four islands. Wildlife seekers can ride through the Safari tracks to spot lion and tiger areas. All in all, it’s an ideal place for families to relax and to have fun.

LAHORE SAFARI PARK

Lahore Safari Park is a wildlife natural habitat for animals in Lahore. People can visit and enjoy their time observing wildlife animals. It is an international-standard facility in Lahore that serves the purposes of research, education, recreation, and animal survival.

Amazing New Attractions in Lahore Safari Park

Among the animals kept here are Indian peafowl, Bengal tigers, common pheasants, emus, lions, silent swans, nilgai, ostriches, and silver pheasants. The Lahore Safari is home to Pakistan’s largest walk-through aviary.

Facilities for fishing and boating have been built next to a lake. With four islands, the lake is the largest in the city. An additional 80 acres (32 hectares) of safari tracks are located in the regions designated for Bengal tigers and lions.

Up to 142 different species of aquatic animals can be found in the aquarium of the Lahore Safari Park, and the animals are housed in cages that comply with international standards.

As mentioned above, the Safari Park will feature an African section, a dessert area, and a salt range. Furthermore, Night Safari will be accessible. At Safari Park, the public is also welcome to use the specially constructed huts.

Prominent features

The park also has a unique Hologram Zoo that guests may experience by donning special glasses. Visitors can get up close and personal with exotic animals like pandas at the Hologram Zoo.

Since various animals are housed there in accordance with their natural habitats, the landscaping has been done in themes.

Instead of old-fashioned cages, they now have spacious habitats that mimic their natural environments. That means happier animals and a more authentic experience for visitors like you and me.

The park has also introduced some new species to its collection. From majestic lions to playful pandas, there’s something for everyone to marvel at. And don’t worry, all the animals are well taken care of by dedicated staff who ensure they’re healthy and thriving.

In addition to a desert-like environment, a hillock has been constructed there for that reason.

The installation of “hills” to the enclosure has further improved the lion safari. A 500-space parking lot has also been constructed for the guests.

According to resources, nine giraffes—three males and six females—two rhinos, and three elephants—two female and one male—are among the new additions to the Safari.

More animals will be added to the park, including several species of deer, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and ostriches.

The park is developed into a top-notch attraction by adopting Singapore Safari Park as a model. The visitor’s recreational amenities and the cleanliness of the lake is also improved.

Wildlife: safari in lahore.

Far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Safari Park is ideally situated in a sparsely populated area near Rawind Road Lahore, where hundreds of wildlife lovers visit along with their families every day.

Just beside the entrance there is a small hut made of net, where freely roaming, playing and flying peacocks, ducks and a variety of other wild birds are a source of great pleasure both for kids and grownups. Interestingly, visitors are allowed to go inside the hut and admire the beauty of nature at close quarters. The area has been neatly organised as per the need of these wild beauties.

Inside the net, no one is permitted to leave the walkway specially made for tourists so that birds don't get disturbed. Nevertheless, visitors don't let go of this rare opportunity of capturing peacock's beauty on camera, especially when it spreads its feathers. That's why every tourist inside the net-hut is found having his cell/digital camera in his/her hand.

Just across the birds' zone there is the real adventure zone of the park — the lions' and tigers' region. Enclosed by solid iron fence, this particular area has plants that have an ambiance of a typical African forest and inside it lives the king of the jungle — I'm talking about lions and tigers (including the white tiger as well). With an aura of power and terror, lions and tigers can be seen roaming around arrogantly.

Sitting in cars (with car-windows closed tightly), tourists can have a round of the forest. It's a bit scary but truly adventurous! However, at the same time it feels thoroughly daring and exciting. Also keep in mind that if it is summer, the car better be an air conditioned one as it can be quite suffocating with the car windows closed tightly.

A few metres ahead there is a huge play area for kids. Equipped with a variety of swings and other fittings of children's interest, the park captivates a number of families, especially on Sundays. Besides, the aforementioned sites there are a few others as well, including a serene pond and deer zone, etc. The enjoyment doubles if the blazing sun takes pity on the tourists and allows the clouds to rule the sky for sometime.

If you have never been to Africa, you can get a feel of what it would be like to take a safari there once you visit this park with its well-kept ground and wide variety of animal life.

Lahore Zoo entry fee, parking charges update for July 2024

LAHORE – The Lahore Zoo’s lush gardens and historic architecture make it a cherished cultural landmark in the Punjab capital, attracting tourists and locals alike.

It is situated at prime area on the Mall, Lahore adjacent to Lawrence Garden spreading overall area of 25 acres. It was established in 1872. It remained under control with various organizations / department i.e. Lahore Municipal Corporation, District Administration, Lahore, Livestock and Dairy Development department before its transfer to Punjab Wildlife department in 1982.

Hundreds of people visit the Lahore Zoo on daily basis. It is required to buy the ticket to get entry into the zoo, which is a vibrant sanctuary for diverse wildlife.

It houses Marsh Crocodiles, Chimpanzee, Black Buck, Black Beer, snakes, lions and several other animals.

Lahore Zoo Latest Entry Fee from July 2024

The ticket price for adult stands at Rs40 each while the price of ticket for child is Rs20. The entry ticket prices would remain same in next month July 2024.

The parking fee structure for Lahore is following:

Bus: Rs200/- each

Car: Rs40/- each

Motorcycle / Rickshaw: Rs20/- each

Mini Bus: Rs100/-each

Cycle: Rs10/- each

The Lahore Zoon opens at 9 am and closes when there is sunset.

Mayor Wahab opens special recreational facilities at Safari Park

KARACHI    -   Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Friday inaugurated the special recreational facilities, Amusement Multi-Adventure and Junior Multi-Adventure Challenge Course, at Safari Park.  Talking to the media after the inauguration, he reiterated the promise to restore Karachi’s vibrancy. Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad and other elected representatives and officials were also present on this occasion. Murtaza highlighted the improvements seen in the park and the revival of previously closed spaces. During holidays, the park will be bustling.

He mentioned that these projects will provide modern recreational facilities for both children and adults, operated under public-private partnership. Children aged 8 to 15 will have access to multi-adventure amusement facilities, and there is also a Dino Park at the Safari Park, he said.

He said that we have introduced a zip line in Safari Park along with the Dino Park and aim to provide more affordable and quality recreational facilities to Karachi’s citizens. Murtaza clarified that the Quaid-e-Azam Park in Gulshan-e-Hadeed is not under KMC but belongs to the Steel Mills.  He reminisced about visiting Aladdin Water Park in his childhood, which was demolished following an order by former Chief Justice Gulzar. The empty land of Aladdin Park will be used to construct a new city council hall, and they plan to turn the barren land into a beautiful, green park, he said.

Mayor Karachi said we have sufficient dumpers to clear waste from drains, and the cleaning work was delayed due to technical reasons and tender delays. If tenders were not issued, he would have been blamed as well. The decision to allocate land to DHA Hawksbay for martyrs’ families is still pending in the cabinet. He noted that KMC has taken control of Askari Park, now named Kashmir Park, which generates an annual income of Rs 290 million.The Mayor assured that recreational sites in Karachi belong to the public.
