Brisbane City Walking Tours

History, art, culture, true crime, intrigue and the stories that have woven the fabric of Brisbane come together in MoB’s Brisbane City Walking Tours , returning by popular demand this year with an exciting new addition to the line-up.

Four adventures are now on offer, including the latest, Brisbane City Walking Tour: Past and Present, a fast and fun highlight tour featuring some of the most colourful tales from Brisbane’s past. From Traditional Custodians to convict stories, public art and towering cathedrals, this tour is an excellent introduction to Brisbane’s rich and complex past.

The tour finishes inside MoB’s latest exhibition Making Place: 100 Views of Brisbane , where you’ll be able to walk amongst over 100 artworks depicting some of Brisbane’s most iconic scenes. Featuring works from acclaimed artist including Vida Lahey, Judy Watson and an atmospheric soundscape by artist Lawrence English, this fully immersive tour will take you from the streets to the serenity of the city’s very own oasis of art and culture.

Brisbane City Walking Tour: Past and Present launched in April and joins three other extremely popular tours that includes the Public Art Walking Tour , History on the Hill Walking Tour and Tides of Brisbane , the first MoB tour conducted by boat from the Brisbane River.

MoB Director/CEO, Renai Grace, said the tours were fast becoming a must-do for visitors and residents alike. “We have been delighted by the positive response that we received with our first season of historical walking tours during 2020 and 2021. Now, with borders open, visitors will have the opportunity to discover and share the stories of Brisbane and locals are sure to learn something new about the city they call home.”

Public Art Walking Tour showcases the art, history and culture of Brisbane’s public sphere with art ranging from traditional pieces dating back to the 1900s to modern installations and laneway art.  History on the Hill Walking Tour is set against the backdrop of one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs, Spring Hill, lifting the lid on the hidden history of this iconic district.  Tides of Brisbane covers all aspects of Brisbane River life, sharing stories of Brisbane’s past, taking to the water for a feast of amazing facts, fantastic views and a pitstop at one of Brisbane’s best breweries.
