Lake Street Dive Announces Semi-Acoustic ‘2023 Gather Round Sounds Tour’

Lake Street Dive has announced a run of laid-back, “semi-acoustic” performances dubbed the  2023 Gather Round Sounds Tour . The tour will feature support from singer-songwriter  Monica Martin .

“We are so pleased to announce a very special new tour!” the band said in a social media post. “Join us for these easy going, semi-acoustic evenings full of the fan favs, some deep cuts, and maybe even some works in progress in our most relaxed, basement couch setting yet.”

The six newly announced tour dates include shows at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (1/20) and The Eastern in Atlanta (1/21), as well as two-night runs at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN (1/27–28) and The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY (2/3–4), with additional shows to be announced.

Lake Street Dive Unveil Dates for Semi-Acoustic 2023 Gather Round Sounds Tour

Lake Street Dive have announced a semi-acoustic run, slated as the Gather Round Sounds Tour, beginning on Jan. 20 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. The tour is also billed to include special guest Monica Martin. 

Following the tour opener at the legendary Nashville venue, Lake Street Dive will travel to Atlanta for a one-night stand on Jan. 21 at The Eastern. From there, they’ll move on to Palace Theatre in St. Paul, Minn., for two consecutive evenings, Jan. 27 and 28. The final stops will occur on Feb. 3 and 4, when the ensemble arrives in Port Chester, New York, for an appearance at the fabled Capitol Theatre.

The band broke the news of the upcoming run of dates on their social media pages, writing on Instagram: “We are so pleased to announce a very special new tour! Join us for these easy going, semi-acoustic evenings full of the fan favs, some deep cuts, and maybe even some works in progress in our most relaxed, basement couch setting yet.” 

They continued by stating that more dates would be announced soon. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now using the code “GATHERROUND,” for access, visit the band’s official website .

Lake Street Dive Extend 2022-2023 Tour Dates: Ticket Presale Code & On-Sale Info

This week, Lake Street Dive added winter tour dates with opening act Monica Martin.

Six intimate shows are planned in Tennessee, Georgia, Minnesota, and New York in January and February of 2023. Billed as the Gather Round Sounds Tour, the band's social media described the vibe as, "easy going, semi-acoustic evenings full of the fan favs, some deep cuts, and maybe even some works in progress in our most relaxed, basement couch setting yet." Last month, the group released a covers EP called Fun Machine: The Sequel.

Lake Street Dive are currently touring along the West Coast, with an additional nine concerts on their schedule through the end of 2022. The group is expected to announce more concerts coming up, so stay tuned.

For the new dates, the general public on-sale begins as early as October 7. Presales are currently underway for VIP packages and Artist. The outing, titled Gather Round Sounds Tour, will send the quintet across major cities, including a stop at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! On Wednesday, 1st February 2023, Lake Street Dive is set to light up Stage AE! Fans can expect a high-energy set packed with their biggest hits and fan favorites! In 2022, Lake Street Dive had a phenomenal year. They headlined the highly-anticipated Seriesfest in spring and had a two-night run at the Radio City Hall in New York City in September. The band, which emerged in 2006, has consistently toured and performed in major venues across the U.S. Regarded as one of the fast-rising indie bands to watch in 2023, Lake Street Dive sets out on tour to support their recently released EP, Fun Machine, The Sequel. The record came after the release of their latest studio album, Obviously. The seventh studio effort entered seven charts in the U.S., including the Billboard 200, Top Alternative Albums, Top Tastemaker Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts. The album also spawned the hit single “Hypotheticals,” which peaked at number 2 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart. Apart from recent hits, Lake Street Dive made waves with their singles “I Don’t Care About You,” “Good Kisser,” “and “Shame Shame Shame.” The band also recorded several fan favorites, such as “Better Than” and “Rich Girls.”

In 2014, Lake Street Dive released its first breakthrough album, Bad Self Portraits. The fourth studio effort peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and number 18 on the Billboard 200. Two years later, the Boston-based quintet followed their breakthrough with their first album to reach number 1, Side Pony. The album notably topped three Billboard charts: Top Alternative, Top Rock, and Top Folk Album charts. In 2018, the band dropped their highest mainstream charting album, Free Yourself Up. The record peaked at number 8 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Top Alternative and Top Rock Albums charts.

Since forming in 2004, Lake Street Dive have matched their sophisticated musicianship with a fearless refusal to limit their sound. As shown on their most recent full-length album, 2021’s critically acclaimed Obviously, the Boston-bred band also possess a keen talent for combining sociopolitical commentary with immediately catchy pop gems. With their current lineup comprised of founding members Rachael Price (vocals), Bridget Kearney (bass), and Michael Calabrese (drums)—as well as keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss and touring guitarist James Cornelison—Lake Street Dive continue to create joyously soulful rock & roll with equal parts ingenuity, intelligence, and irresistible abandon.

Although a certain spirited eclecticism has defined Lake Street Dive since their earliest days, the band’s four original members (including former guitarist/trumpet player Michael “McDuck” Olson) first crossed paths while studying jazz at Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music. Their full-length debut In This Episode… arrived in 2007, followed by three more independently released and rapturously received albums. As the band’s energetic live show continued to earn them a devoted following, Lake Street Dive made their Nonesuch Records debut with Side Pony: a 2016 effort that instantly shot to No. 1 on three Billboard charts and later landed on Paste’s 50 Best Albums of 2016 list. The following year, the group experienced a new infusion of creative energy with the addition of Bermiss (previously their touring keyboardist), who has since begun sharing writing and arrangement duties. Arriving in 2018, Lake Street Dive’s self- produced sixth album Free Yourself Up debuted in the top ten on the Billboard 200 and spent seven-and-a-half months on the non-commercial radio charts, with the smoldering hit single “Good Kisser” holding steady in the top five at Americana radio for over a month.

In recent years, Lake Street Dive have brought even more boldness to their kaleidoscopic sound while deliberately expanding their songcraft. To that end, Obviously finds the band examining such complex matters as gender inequality (on “Being a Woman”) and the monumental challenges faced by younger generations (on “Making Do”), shaping each track with a profound intentionality and ineffable mastery of melody and groove—a process Price refers to as “putting these messages into three and a half minute snippets, dropping whatever truth we can and hoping it’s the type of thing that people want to ruminate on.” Made with producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Mary J. Blige), the result is an endlessly illuminating body of work that’s earned praise from the likes of Rolling Stone (who noted that “[a]t a moment when pop strives for lo-fi, solitary-world intimacy, the jazz-pop-whatever band refuse to think small”).

Last fall, to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their first covers EP, Lake Street Dive released Fun Machine: The Sequel, a 6-track EP of cover songs produced by Robin MacMillan and recorded at Figure 8 Recording in Brooklyn and Lucy’s Meat Market in Los Angeles. This new collection of songs reveals what makes the group so unique and their curations so special. Lake Street Dive don’t just inhabit these interpretations; they knock the walls down, re-finish the floors, and on some of them add a new room or two – it’s a way to both acknowledge their inspirations while also advancing their own musical foundation, inspiring a new generation of fans along the way. And as always, it’s their signature combination of immaculate musicianship, exceptional, inventive chops, and free-wheeling, playful sense of fun and originality leading the way.

Over the years, they’ve captivated massive audiences at such esteemed festivals as Newport Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and Toronto Jazz Festival, in addition to headlining tours all across the globe and sharing stages with acts like Brandi Carlile and Sheryl Crow. And through their fierce commitment to constantly elevating their artistry, Lake Street Dive have ultimately emerged as one of the most compelling voices in alternative music today, both reliably sublime and thrilling unpredictable.

Standing at Concerts

Standing and Dancing at Concerts: DPAC is proud to welcome all types of concerts to our stage. Sometimes during the course of a concert performance, audience members will show their enthusiasm by standing and dancing, especially when encouraged by the performers to do so. Unless directed by the show, we do not ever enforce a must sit policy at concerts. For most concerts, this would not be acceptable to the performers on stage who often love it when the crowd is moved enough by the performance to stand. This is especially true for rock shows and for seats closest to the stage.

Please know that DPAC does not have a “no standing” policy and in most situations will allow guests to stand even if they block the view of the stage for other guests. If your view is ever blocked by a standing or dancing guest, please contact an usher and we’ll attempt to find alternative seating.

At the request of the show, ticket delivery and transfer will be unavailable until 30 days prior to the performance.

For many concert, comedy, and special events at DPAC, we offer added views of the stage with two big screens (size: 16’ x 9’) hung to the sides of the stage or above the stage. These big screens can add to the visual experience of our concert, comedy, and special events and give guests seated farther from the stage what we like to call “a tenth row view”. Approval to use these screens always rests with the visiting show and about half of all concert and comedy events do use these screens.

This new collection of songs reveals what makes the group so unique and their curations so special. Lake Street Dive don’t just inhabit these interpretations; they knock the walls down, re-finish the floors, and on some of them add a new room or two — it’s a way to both acknowledge their inspirations while also advancing their own musical foundation, inspiring a new generation of fans along the way. And as always, it’s their signature combination of immaculate musicianship, exceptional, inventive chops, and free-wheeling, playful sense of fun and originality leading the way.

Through their fierce commitment to constantly elevating their artistry, Lake Street Dive have ultimately emerged as one of the most compelling voices in alternative music today, both reliably sublime and thrilling unpredictable.

Monica Martin is a Chicago-born singer-songwriter who grew up in rural Wisconsin, mostly waiting for Billie Holiday videos to load on back-country dial-up or making trips in a busted Geo Metro to watch punk shows in Milwaukee. Trained as a hairdresser, she didn’t have musical plans beyond joke singing harmonies over the radio. She fronted the acclaimed experimental-folk-pop sextet, PHOX, formed just outside Madison, Wisconsin. Eventually, Monica moved to LA and is presently at work putting melodies to lowkey pop songs with blue note whispers, some golden-era Hollywood dramatics, and psychedelic flickers courtesy of a theremin. Monica is still figuring out who she is, but quite happy to share her cautionary tales: “I made hundreds of mistakes, so you don’t have to.”

The film festival has been held since 1935. Second oldest after the Venice Film Festival. Moscow International Film Festival is one of the most important events in the film industry. Christmas Festival

This is the most favourite festival of Muscovites and guests of the city. Interesting events take place at 80 venues throughout the city. Festival “Moscow Maslenitsa”

The main military parade of the country takes place in Moscow on Red Square. Throughout the city, at special concert venues, art groups perform, songs of the war years are heard everywhere. Night of museums

Museum Night is an annual project that will take place in Moscow 15 times. Most of the city’s cultural institutions traditionally take part in it. XI Moscow International Festival Circle of Light

XVIII Moscow Gastronomic Festival

Hundreds of restaurants in Moscow present a signature tasting menu. It offers new tastes, unusual food combinations, bold culinary experiments. Special brunches take place all month.
