Step Aboard the Belmond British Pullman from London to Historic Bath

Step Aboard the Belmond British Pullman from London to Historic Bath

A trip on the Belmond British Pullman train, part of the Venice Simplon Orient-Express brand had been on my bucket list for a while, and I was finally getting the opportunity to travel on it as a treat to celebrate my wedding anniversary.

What visions do you summon up when the word Orient-Express is mentioned to you. Agatha Christie will no doubt be high on the list followed by 1920’s splendour, fine dining and impeccable service. All this was making me even more excited for an unforgettable train journey through the British countryside.

Of course, this is the Belmond British Pullman which is a separate element of the Orient-Express. A brand that is synonymous with luxury travel. The Pullman remains in the UK, unlike the Venice-Simplon that makes its way through France and on to Italy. Our day trip would take us from London to Bath and offer us breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

Embarkation of the Belmond British Pullman

We headed over to the designated platform to watch this vintage Pullman arrive at Victoria station. As the train pulled in, we had time to take photographs of this iconic train before embarking.

Our dining carriage was called “Gwen” which was very poignant as it was the name of my late mother-in-law. All carriages have different names and plaques give information about each one.

Phoenix was the favourite carriage of the Queen and Queen Mother and has transported visiting heads of state. Lydia carriage famously carried Winston Churchill’s family attached to the luggage carriage that transported his coffin from London to Handborough as part of his funeral arrangements.

Breakfast Brunch

Once aboard the Belmond British Pullman, you will have time before breakfast to have a look around the lovingly restored 1920s carriages and discover the history of this iconic train.

Breakfast brunch is served quite soon into the journey to keep early morning rumbling tummies at bay. Expect silver service with fine china and silver cutlery and delights such as eggs, smoked salmon, fresh fruits, pastries and preserves, coffee and of course, peach Bellinis!

A Tour of Bath

On arrival at Bath, a city coach tour was part of the Belmond package. Instead, we chose to wander around and see the best of Bath’s Georgian architecture and historic landmarks on our own. Bath is a delightful city with an ancient heritage but also a vibrant modern culture. There was plenty of things to do and see in Bath. The famous Roman Spa and Pump Rooms , Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge, are just a few of the main sights in Bath.

Bath became a spa city in 60 AD when the Romans built baths and a temple in the valley of the River Avon. The water originates from the rain that runs down the nearby Mendip Hills and which is naturally heated underground. The spa waters then rise, under pressure, to the surface where they appear in the Roman spa baths.

Ancient spa baths are the main attraction in Bath with tours usually at the top of most lists of things to do in Bath. Enjoy afternoon tea and taste the thermal waters in The Pump Room, adjacent to the baths, for an experience to remember. Or you can head to Sally Lund’s traditional tearooms for a cup of tea and one of her famous teacakes!

Dinner and the Return Journey

After 4 hours it was back to the Belmond British Pullman for our return to London Victoria. We had seen so much of Bath – it had been an excellent day and the weather was lovely. To top it off we were presented with a glass of bubbles – just what the doctor ordered – and our delicious 4-course dinner was served.

Soup, followed by beef and vegetables and a dessert was all cooked to perfection. A selection of English cheeses and coffee with petit fours followed the main event. All the dishes were presented to us in a leisurely manner during the return from Bath to London so we felt it was a very relaxed dining experience.

A trip on the Belmond British Express is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion.

I love riding in a train of any sort and this looks fabulously elegant. Sounds like a perfect combination of luxurious travel and sightseeing. It's been a few years but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to London, which included a day trip to Bath. Wish I had known about the train!

Oh my gosh, you have just convinced me. How lovely this would be. I love the idea of brunch, tea service and dinner on the train- how nostalgic and romantic that would be. And then to roam around the charming town of Bath. I can see why it was on your bucket list.

We do love the idea of train rides. And when you say “Orient Express”, indeed images come to mind! I love the idea of some luxury travel on the Belmond British Pullman. And even more the fact that there are coach tours as part of the trip. A great day trip to Bath.

Ooh… this sounds like a heavenly day! I love train travel! Did you sit in Gwen the whole trip, or just for meals?

Nearly everyone has heard of the Orient Express and has their own idea of what to expect. Perhaps you think of clouds of steam, silver tea sets, popping champagne - or even murder.

Well, now you can see the real thing for yourself, on your doorstep in Bath and Somerset. That's right, this stunning locomotive will pass through our county next week (March 9).

Best known for Murder on the Orient Express, these famous art deco carriages starred in Paddington 2 and have been around since the 1920s. The engine is now called the Belmond British Pullman and passes through Somerset, with a stop in Bath to let people off.

In May last year, crowds of people turned out to see it glide through the stations at Bath Spa, Oldfield Park and Keynsham , taking wonderful photographs and videos . Now, several dates for the "Historic Bath" train have been confirmed for 2022.

When you can see the Orient Express

  • March 9, 23 and 30
  • April 14 and 27
  • May 18 ( by steam )
  • July 6 and 20

When the locomotive visited in May 2021, we were able to spot passengers alighting at Bath Spa around 12.45pm. After that, the empty train travelled on to Bristol Temple Meads, where it terminated, before taking them back to London.

Perhaps you would rather experience this beautiful train from the inside, rather than looking on while others have all the fun. If that's the case, then you can book tickets for the Orient Express here .

Seats for the London to Bath experience range upwards from £560 and include brunch with Bellini, travel to the World Heritage Site and a four-course dinner with champagne. At the time of writing, there were two seats left on the March 23 service.

Nowadays, the Orient Express is used for a whole catalogue of trips across England. You can journey to the Grand National, Oxford, Cambridge, Highclere Castle, and even Brighton with Michael Portillo as your host.

Orient Express to Bath

All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW - a day that you must experience at least once in your life. We went on there to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the day was perfect from start to finish. We were in the Audrey carriage and were greeted with Bellini, followed by a delectable brunch. We had a whistestop tour of Bath and then entry to the Roman Baths, back on board we were greeted with Champagne and then what can only be described as a culinary experience back to Victoria. A wonderful day, perfect in every way.

Thank you very much for your very kind words after your trip with the UK Pullman. We are all delighted to know that you enjoyed a great time celebrating your Silver wedding anniversary on board. We would be looking forward to welcome you back on board again soon!

As I am reviewing this as a restaurant I have to say that food wise this is hands down the biggest rip off I have ever experienced. At £310 a head you can eat at most 3 star places. I had been looking forward to this for months after my colleague had suggested it as a good way of entertaining a group of clients. Things got off to a promising start with the stuffed fig but then went quickly downhill. The guinea fowl terrine was completely bland, it could have come out of a tin. The soup was even more tasteless. Then the salmon came along and it had been cooked to the point of bone dry. It was almost inedible. There is no excuse for this. I've had a fantastic dining experience on the Melbourne Tram and had a similar menu cooked for over a hundred at a christman lunch. Things did pick up with the cheese. I think the waitress either had taken a shine to my companiion or had overheard him remarking on what a rip off it was, as he got served nearly half the cheese board. Dessert came and went in a bit of a blur as the "free" house wine had taken a hold by now. The service felt mechanical throughout. Certainly didnt get the impression many of the staff enjoyed or felt enthused by their job. OK, this is more than just a meal but once you had actually got on the carriage and got accustomed to the unusaul seating arrangement then the actual journey is pretty non descript. i feel they could do more with this to make it an actual experience or signiicantly upgrade the quality of the food. The seating is set up as four sets of two seats facing one another. The staff wouldnt let us change seats due to the dietary requirements, which is fair enough, but its not the best arrangement to entertain clients. There are many more things in London and the south east to spend £310 a head on.

Many reviews and comments but this is the only way to travel to Venice. Yes the cabin is relatively small but extremely functional and really comfortable for travelling. Bar car is enjoyable and professional staff provide a prompt service. Your meals are served in one of the three restaurant cars and can certainly be classed as fine dining, highly professional serving staff ensure excellent standard of service and if you have a specific dislike will offer an alternative, but menus are well balanced and should appeal to all tastes, as we travelled both ways we can advise that there is no repetition . Many reviews comment on expense of drinks on train but in general most prices reflect the quality of the wine on offer and choice of drinks. Only issue is cost of small bottle of beer which to my mind is slightly excessive, maybe it is time for VSOE to review, and as in restarant in Venice, have a Menu of selected beers available in wine list format However standards on the VSOE train are of high standard and your comfort and enjoyment of your trip is their main aim and in this regard they do succed. PS - ensure that you visit Massimo in the Signature Boutique -one of the characters on the train and one of the longest serving.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with such kind words about your experience with the VSOE. I am glad to know that you enjoyed a superb experience on board and that the overall organisation delivered what you expected and answered to all your needs. Looking forward to welcome you on board again for another great European destination!

Overall this is a rather special way to spend an afternoon especially when someone else pays the £310 cost. The food was good, not excellent but the service from Roy, Thomas, Mitchell and the team was brilliant. The murder mystery helped pass the time even if the story was thin and we didn't get to meet all the cast. As a special event I'm sure most people (especially of a certain age) will love it.

My husband and I celebrated my 50th birthday and our 32nd wedding anniversary on a over night trip from London Victoria to Venice onboard the Venice Simplon Orient Express. The check in lounge was a little small leaving many people standing for long periods. The staff was extremely attentive and the food was outstanding. However, we was very surprised at the speed in which the train travelled making it very difficult walking through the coaches. It was very noisy and bumpy making sleeping just impossible. The cabins are very small with a sink only for washing. Toilets are located at both ends of each coach. We was at the back of the train and quite frankly there were times that they were so dirty that it was unpleasant to go in. The toilets were cleaner and bigger mid train. The whole journey felt a little rushed. An extra day perhaps at slower speeds would have been more relaxing. This trip in my opinion was not 5* luxury. Very expensive and overrated.

Thank you for sharing your comments about your recent trip with us. I was glad to read that you enjoyed outstanding food and that you thought that the staff was very attentive to all your needs. I hope that you were able to understand that we remain a "train" and when we circulate we have to follow railways regulations as far as the speed is concerned. From walking inside the train you will have noticed that each carriage had its very own decoration and that some of them are disposed differently, offering then a small or a larger toilet. I hope that you were able to share your comments with the on-board staff so that they were able to correct what needed immediate attention. I would just hope that, after reflection, you could one day give us another chance to show you how we can share this experience of traveling in carriages from a by-gone age the way you expected to.

My friend won this trip in a competition set by Yorkshire Tea. What a fantastic prize! We were treated to Champagne, beautiful afternoon tea with vegetarian option for my friend, and alcoholic cocktails made with tea (Yorkshire Tea, of course). The stewards on board the train were friendly, polite, immaculately dressed and complimented our prize perfectly. I would advise anyone to splash out on a fabulous trip aboard this First Class Steam Train which took us all around Surrey. The only down-side to this event being that it wasn't quite long enough, we would have loved to stay on board overnight! However, I shouldn't sound ungrateful as we didn't spend a penny and came home with complimentary souveniers. Lovely.

Orient Express London to Bath

My mother and I boarded the amazing Belmond Pullman in London Victoria for a day trip to Bath complete with brunch as we headed to Bath, as we passed each station we felt like royalty and can only imagine how people felt many years ago. Returning to London as we entered the train the tables set with silver ware to eat a delicious 4 course meal. An experience we shall never forget!

Dear Elaine, Thank you very much for your lovely review! I am delighted to read that you and your mother had such a wonderful time in Bath with us and we hope to welcome you back on the Belmond British Pullman very soon. Kind regards,

Recently had the pleasure of lunch aboard the Belmond British Pullman. What a superb experience! The food the excellent, the surrounding delightful. The menu is a set one but on commenting that I would like a vegetarian main, this was instantly sorted. No fuss, no hassle. Only slight downers - when you book in and are offered complimentary tea or coffee on an excursion of this quality, it was a surprise to receive it in a paper cup! Plus only one toilet in waiting lounge, so make sure you go before or wait until you are on the train. The other niggle is a little strange - we were greeted, fed and looked after and we have no problem with that at all, however, a couple opposite us were positively fawned over ... ... might have had something to do with them buying a bottle of champagne and various extras ... being primed for a generous tip possibly?

I would like to thank you for taking the time to write to us and let us know about your experience on the Belmond British Pullman. I am really happy to read that you enjoyed your journey on the Belmond British Pullman and will make sure to pass on your compliments to the staff who are working very hard to make your journey memorable. The points you raise are very valid and are indeed aspects we would like to improve but we are limited in what we can do by outside constraints. The departure lounge at London Victoria is smaller than we would like but it is simply not viable for us to have a large enough area for our exclusive use at a busy mainline station. While I fully understand your comment regarding the paper cup, we are limited by the health and safety regulation of Victoria station and are not able to use chinaware outside the lounge, on the concourse. I would also like mention that we consider all our guests in the same way and would like to apologise if you felt it hasn't been the case during your journey. Thank you once again for taking the trouble to write with your comments and I hope we can look forward to welcoming you on board one of our trains once again sometime in the future. Kind regards,

We were 3 friends travelling on the British Pullman for their "Fortnum & Mason afternoon tea" trip. From the moment we booked in at the Belmond lounge adjacent to the platform until we disembarked 3 1/2 hours later, everything was perfect. A real taste of luxury living. We were lucky to have an individual compartment within the Ibis carriage which had beautiful Liberty patterned upholstery. All the staff (including the F&M guy) were welcoming, courteous and friendly and the service was impeccable throughout. To start with, we had a glass of English bubbly, followed by delicious sandwiches, scones & a selection of cakes, washed down by endless cups of tea all served on fine china. After the service, we took the opportunity to have a walk along the train to inspect all the carriages as they were all slightly different but equally impressive. At the end, we "waddled" off with our F&M goody bags. A perfect end to a perfect day.

Dear Teresa, Thank you very much for your comment. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed our Fortnum and Mason Afternoon Tea and had such a great day with us on the Belmond British Pullman. We are pleased to see that this has been a success and that it will hopefully lead to more of this kind of events. Thank you again for your lovely review and we hope to see you again onboard very soon. Kind regards,

The overall experience was quite lovely. I was traveling with my husband and mother, and at the end of the trip we all agreed that the best part of it all was the traveling time on board the train. The staff was incredibly professional, kind, polite and welcoming, making the experience very special. Bath was a little disappointing, as by the time we arrived there and made our way to see the Roman Baths, the que was terrifying, so we chose to save ourselves all the waiting, elbowing, squashing and just general irritation and walked away. We were quite disappointed as this was meant to be the main attraction. Back on board, everything was welcoming and beautifully arranged. We had a comfortable trip back to London, dining and enjoying the beautiful scenery from our window. I chose to give the trip 3 stars, instead of 5 for a reason. While enjoying my dinner on our way back to London, to my immense horror, I found hair in my meal, which left me feeling quite ill. Although I understand (hope) that I was simply incredibly unlucky and this is an undoubtedly a rare occurrence, it did manage to ruin a lot for me. I was feeling quite ill for the remaining of the journey. I simply think that for the quality and price level of the trip, absolutely everything must be in perfect and flawless order for everyone. As an overall experience, thank you very much to the staff for the comfortable, entertaining and pleasant trip.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your comments. Whilst it was lovely to read that you enjoyed your time on the train with your family, I am very sorry for the disappointment regarding the Bath excursion and the food. As you rightfully mentioned, every aspect of the experience should be perfect and I do apologise if your time on the train was marred by the hair you found on your plate. This should have never happened and we will ensure that going forward every possible action will be taken to prevent it from happening again. Regarding the Bath excursion, we have been taking our guests to the Roman Baths for many years now and whilst there is sometimes a short wait for guests to enter during the busy summer months, we have never experienced such a long wait on previous trips. Upon investigation, we found out that the company running the Roman Baths has had problems upgrading their reservations software which resulted in the unusual queue at the entrance. Once again please accept our most sincere apologies and I hope to welcome you again very soon on board the Belmond British Pullman. Kind regards, Jean-Baptiste

Had a fantastic time on the train on a day trip to Bath. Really good service and food on the train. Day was let down by experience in Bath. Had to queue for over 30 minutes to get into the Roman baths not leaving enough time to look around, would have been improved if they could have told us a time to come back rather than just leaving use standing.

Dear Rose, Thank you very much for your comments. Whilst it was lovely to read that you enjoyed the food and the service, I am very sorry for the disappointment regarding the Bath excursion. We have been taking our guests to the Roman Baths for many years now and whilst there is sometimes a short wait for guests to enter during the busy summer months, we have never experienced such a long wait on previous trips. Upon investigation, we found out that the company running the Roman Baths has had problems upgrading their reservations software which resulted in the unusual queue at the entrance. Every aspect of the experience should be perfect and I do apologise for this event which was unfortunate and beyond our control. We will ensure that going forward we will take every possible action to prevent it to happen to us again. I sincerely hope to welcome you again very soon on board the Belmond British Pullman. Kind regards, Jean-Baptiste

I was taken on the Chatsworth House trip as a birthday treat, having longed for years to step on board a Pullman train. I can only say that the experience exceeded expectations on every level. The carriages are spacious and beautiful, everything on board is of the finest quality and sparking clean, and the staff are both highly professional and friendly. They really did make the whole experience seem very special. The food was excellent, fresh ingredients and well cooked. It's amazing they can produce such quality from the tiny galleys. The day is well-organised, arriving in Chesterfield after brunch and giving enough time to see Chatsworth House and some of the gardens, and then return to the train for the 5-course meal. Yes, it's expensive, but it was certainly worth every penny for a really special day out.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review about your journey with us. I am delighted to read that your expectations for your first trip on the Belmond British Pullman were matched and even exceeded! Our staff will be delighted to read such comments about your time on the train. Thank you again for your travelling with us and I look forward to welcoming you onboard on another trip in a not too distant future, for your second journey! Kind regards,

This Highly Anticipated Italian Train Is Taking Reservations Soon — Here's a Peek Inside

It's just as glamorous as you'd expect.

orient express day trip to bath

Patrick Locqueneux/Courtesy of La Dolce Vita Orient Express

La Dolce Vita Orient Express announced that it will soon be ready for guests to book tickets for what could arguably be called the most luxurious train journey in the world.

In a press release shared with Travel + Leisure , the train operator shared it will open its virtual ticket window in April, with the train's specific run dates coming later this year. Though we don't know the exact dates, we already know the routes — and just got a peek at the lavish interiors.

As the release further details, the train pays tribute to the years of " La Dolce Vita " in the 1960s, when Italy experienced an economic boom, giving rise to a more glamorous lifestyle. This is evident inside all 12 of the train's deluxe cabins, 18 suites, and its "La Dolce Vita" signature suite, all boasting cozy bedding, sitting areas, delicious chocolate wood accents, and massive picture windows, so guests can enjoy the view during every second of the ride.

"We are thrilled to officially open the doors to a new era of travel with La Dolce Vita Orient Express," Gilda Perez-Alvarado, the CEO of Orient Express, shared in the statement. "This endeavor embodies the essence of exquisite exploration, where sophistication meets adventure. As we embark on this journey together, we invite travelers to experience the pinnacle of elegance and excitement, immersed in the charm and splendor of Italy."

Beyond the private quarters, guests can also mix and mingle with their fellow travelers in the train's expansive restaurant and lounge areas, or sip their favorite cocktail at the bar, which all share the same '60s mid-century modern design ethos.

Travelers can choose from nine distinct journeys, each "promising a blend of luxury, culture, and history," according to the company, with the first departure setting off in the spring of 2025.  La Dolce Vita guarantees an unforgettable adventure, with its first departures taking place in the spring of 2025.

Travelers can choose from nine distinct itineraries, each season dependant), including the Coast to Coast, Venezia e Portofino; the Bella Italia, Venezia e Siena; the Matera e Palena La Transiberiana Italiana; theMontalcino, Viaggio tra i vini Italiani; the Monferrato Vino e Tartufo; the Sud Italia – Maratea e Palermo; the coastal exploration from Palermo to Roma, Alla scoperta della costa Tirrenica; the Le meraviglie della Sicilia; and Le meravigle della Sicilia e del Mediterraneo.

"Today marks a concrete step towards the realization of a dream for many, but also the beginning of a new Italian frontier in the luxury market. We have created a new market segment: Rail cruises, and the response from pre-bookings has already signaled the success of this initiative," Paolo Barletta, CEO of Arsenale Group, a partner on the train, added. "Italy can once again play a leading role, not only nationally but also internationally, in the world of tourism, increasingly intercepting high-end tourism and creating a winning model. That's why we have decided to invest in a unique product capable of creating the conditions to welcome millions of travelers in a new, entirely Italian form of slow, sustainable, and luxury tourism”.

Pricing will depend on travel dates, but one-night itineraries begin at €3,500 (about $3,799) per person in a deluxe cabin and €4,700 ($5,100) per person in a suite. Starting on April 2, guests can make reservations by calling +1-833-661-3080 and can book via orient-express.com starting on April 24.

Let the head mixologist, Walter Nisi, create a cocktail for you to enjoy including the “Guilty Twelve” which is a secret combination of eleven spirits plus champagne invented by Walter to celebrate the 12 characters in Agatha Christie’s famous book – Murder on the Orient Express.

You can also head to the champagne bar to enjoy a glass or two from a selection of chilled vintage Champagnes.

After dinner, return to the bar car where the convivial atmosphere continues until the very last client call it a night. The after-dinner cocktail of choice is the Pousse Café du Train.

The Bar Car (3674) was built in France in 1931 and based at the Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris. After the war it ran as part of the Sud Express from Paris to Irún on the Spanish border and from Paris to Toulouse in Le Capitole.

Today it boasts a beautiful, Art Nouveau-style interior by Gérard Gallet and even manages to incorporate a baby grand piano within the carriage.

How to Book Italy's Orient Express La Dolce Vita Train

F or more than a century, the Orient Express has captured travelers' imaginations as a grand European hotel on rails, shuttling high society from Paris to Istanbul since 1883. The luxury train became the stuff of legend (as the "spies' express" ) and pop culture, be it in Bram Stoker's Dracula or Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express , while setting the standard for elevated transcontinental travel.

Sadly, the luxury of slow travel couldn't compete with high-speed rail and budget flights, reports The Guardian , prompting the final run of the original Orient Express line in 2009.

That is, until more recently. In the past several years, the legendary locomotive experience has witnessed a rebirth thanks to luxury hospitality brands that are breathing new life into the iconic rail journeys-including the forthcoming La Dolce Vita Orient Express in Italy, a joint venture of French hotel firm Accor and real-estate investment company Arsenale, together with Italy's Trenitalia Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and Treni Turistici Italiani .

Starting in spring 2025, La Dolce Vita Orient Express will bring passengers to regions throughout Italy on itineraries that run between two and three days. There are nine itineraries to choose from (depending on the time of the year):

  • Venice and Portofino
  • Venice and Siena
  • The Italian Trans-Siberian: Matera and Palena
  • Rome to Montalcino
  • Rome to Monferrato
  • Southern Italy: Maratea and Palermo
  • Palermo to Rome
  • Sicily and the Mediterranean

Travelers can choose between 12 deluxe cabins and 18 suites, with prices starting at $3,800 per person for a deluxe cabin and at $5,100 per person for a suite.

As for the concept for the new La Dolce Vita Orient Express train, "The train pays tribute to the years of La Dolce Vita, a fantastic period of history, [and] to the artistic and cultural fervor of Italy in the 1960s," according to a press release. Dimorestudio dreamed up the midcentury-inspired design aboard the train's renovated carriages-think pops of terra-cotta paint, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and brass accents galore. Dining aboard La Dolce Vita trains will be a sophisticated affair as well: Travelers will enjoy exclusive recipes created by master Italian chefs who use local ingredients, while sipping award-winning Italian wine. There will, of course, also be a lounge and bar, as well as entertainment, "all boldly celebrating the art, design, and creativity of the 1960s and 1970s," the release stated.

Upon departure from Italy's Rome Ostiense station, La Dolce Vita passengers will have access to their own lounge and a "relaxing pre-boarding experience."

The trains will cross about 10,000 miles of railway lines, 4,400 of which are not electrified and are historic routes traversing less-frequented parts of the countryside. Passengers will get their share of landscape gazing (alpine mountains and sandy southern beaches) and of metropolitan centers like Venice and Rome. "We are thrilled to officially open the doors to a new era of travel with La Dolce Vita Orient Express. This endeavor embodies the essence of exquisite exploration, where sophistication meets adventure," Orient Express CEO Gilda Perez-Alvarado said in a press statement.

Not to be confused with the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express , which is currently owned by Belmond, part of LVMH, and runs from London to Venice, La Dolce Vita Orient Express is the latest incarnation of the original train line.

How to book La Dolce Vita Orient Express

Starting on April 2, 2024, travelers in the United States and Canada can call (833) 661-3080 to book their journey with La Dolce Vita Orient Express. And as of April 24, 2024, bookings will be available online on the La Dolce Vita website .

This story was originally published in December 2021; it was updated on March 19, 2024, to include current information.

The interiors of La Dolce Vita were inspired by 1960s Italian design.
