If it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, pause that episode of Friends you’re streaming and get ready to say “Oh. My. God,” because now you can visit some of your fave Friends locations from the comfort of home.

On Location Tours — one of the world’s largest TV and movie tour companies — has launched an online tour featuring famous sets and locations from Friends. Celebrate the beloved sitcom with a 40-minute video tour that is perfect for casual and die-hard fans alike.

With in-person tour operations on a break, On Location Tours created a new, safer way for fans to see their favorite shows up close. Hosted by tour guide Roseanne Almanzar, the Friends tour goes to 18 sets, apartments, and department stores where the show took place. The video was shot on location in New York City to give fans the most up-close experience they can get (without actually being there, of course).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=9&v=b5-dWrOmD6o&feature=emb_title

In the video, fans will virtually visit the iconic Friends apartment building, Chandler’s work building, and the Museum of Natural History, where Ross worked as a paleontologist. Bloomingdale’s and Saks 5th Ave are also some work-related stops on the trip. These stops and more will make fans feel like they are hanging out alongside Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross, and Joey.

Then, after the tour, fans can flex their Friends knowledge: All tickets to the virtual tour come with admission to a virtual Friends trivia night held monthly by On Location Tours. There are two tour packages available: the Friends Virtual Tour, which includes just the ticket and trivia for $29, and the Friends Virtual Tour + Package. For $68, this package includes a gift box with a Central Perk mug and four other surprise keepsakes, which ships directly to fans.

THE FRIENDS VIRTUAL SITES TOUR BY ON LOCATION TOURS

a person holding a sign in front of a building

From 18th street to 67th street, the Friends Virtual Sites Tour gives you a broad-ranging excursion around some of “Friends” most iconic NYC sites as seen on the show. Kicking it off at the American Museum of Natural History, mimicking the New York Museum of Prehistoric History which Ross worked at, will give the inside scoop to Geller’s specific moments as a paleontologist. Following the museum, you will experience fine dining at Cafe des Artistes, similar to the restaurant Iridium, where Monica was poorly paid in the show. Along the tour, there will be a stop at Chandler’s office building (71st tallest building in NYC), New York University (destination where Ross’s student asks him out), and Phoebe’s apartment. Do not worry, because the Friends apartment will make an appearance during the tour, and yes, it may seem surreal to be first-hand viewing where all the magic of Friends was established. If all of this wasn’t enough, Ugly Naked Guy’s apartment may or may not be a part of the tour as well. Make sure your computer is charged up and ready to go, because you’re not going to want to miss the fun facts towards the end; typically unknown information regarding the logistics and cast is revealed. Only a portion of the destinations have been revealed on this post – sign up for a tour to find out the rest of the landmarks that will be shown representing our favorite group of people, Friends!

Award-winning NYC Tour Company Launches F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Virtual Tour

The One Where Friends Comes to Your Apartment

Oh. My. God. Could this BE any more exciting? Just in time for the Friends 25th anniversary, On Location Tours has launched a  Friends Virtual Tour , where YOU can be your own cast member alongside Monica , Rachel , Phoebe , Chandler , Ross and Joey ! This activity is perfect for those desperate to beat the winter (and quarantine) blues.

The Friends Virtual Tour is the latest from Georgette Blau , founder of On Location Tours, one of the world’s largest TV and movie tour companies, based in New York City.  With Covid-19 shutting down tourism, On Location Tours had to “pivot” their business model to ensure a safe experience for everyone. The Friends New York City apartment building was a famous location highlight on the NYC TV and Movie Tour. Since tour operations are “on a break” due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the virtual tour will let any Friends fan jump into second gear, and it will make their day, their week, their month, and even their year! The tour is hosted by tour guide Roseanne Almanzar , an actress and mother who has been a dedicated staff member of On Location Tours for 20 years.

Roseanne takes Friends’ fans on a 40-minute tour to 18 locations made famous by the acclaimed series. Additionally, purchasing a ticket will also grant a customer admission to the virtual Friends trivia night, which On Location Tours holds monthly.  The trivia ticket can also be purchased separate from the tour.

If customers are based in the US, they can purchase an additional add-on Friends box shipped to their home address (don’t worry, a smelly cat isn’t included). The box contains a Central Perk mug along with four other surprise keepsake items. The full package (tour, trivia, and goodie box) is $68, and the tour + trivia (no goodie box) is $29.  If you would like more information about The Friends Virtual Tour, please contact Erin Miller by email.

About On Location Tours:

On Location Tours is one of the world’s largest award-winning TV and movie tour companies and the only one operating in multiple cities. We feature sites from the hottest and latest on the big and small screen. Founded in 1999 by Georgette Blau, it has become one of the East Coast’s most popular tourist attractions serving over 100,000 tourists and locals annually. Some of the tours include NYC TV & Movie Tour, When Harry Met Seinfeld Tour, Sex and the City Hotspots, Gossip Girl Sites, Sopranos Sites, TCM Classic Film Tour, Central Park TV & Movie Sites, and Holiday Lights & Movie Sites.

Online tours of museums

Online or virtual tours are best for exploring museums from around the globe without traveling. These tours help remote tourists learn about the history and culture of different countries. Here are some museums you can visit virtually with your friends or coworkers.

1. The Broad Museum

The Broad Museum in Los Angeles is home to over 2,000 art pieces from the 1950s to now. The museum is renowned for its avant-garde designs, especially the “Veil and Vault” concept that allows visitors to explore the museum without exiting the structure. The public is also drawn to the museum’s mirrored infinity room.  This incredible museum is popular among art enthusiasts because of its innovative architecture.

The museum provides several digital programs, including educational activities and online resources for virtual tours. Virtual touring allows for an entirely different experience. Usually, the museum has a time limit for visiting certain parts. Online, you can enjoy the twinkling lights and the reflection of the infinitely mirrored room for as long as you like. No 45-second rule will prevent you and your group from experiencing and discussing the art!

Visit The Broad Museum .

2. The Vatican Museums

Located in the smallest country in the world, the Vatican Museums are a series of museums that provide a unique experience to virtual visitors. These unique locations display world-renowned art pieces, including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. The museums are also famous for being home to various archeological relics and historical sculptures.

Another great thing that makes these museums group-tour-worthy places to visit is the official occupancy of the Pope. Now, the participants can sit with their friends on their couches to see the Pope’s residence alongside masterpieces of art. The museum offers guided virtual tours too!

You can visit the museum’s website to book an immersive experience of viewing collections from all over the world.

Find out more about the Vatican Museums .

3. The National Palace Museum and The Forbidden City

In the heart of Beijing is the National Palace Museum, home to centuries of art. You can find more than 700 paintings and intricate calligraphy pieces in the museum. The place also has timepieces, ceramics, and jades.

The Forbidden City is a complex of different palaces surrounding the museum’s building. The museum of The Forbidden City is a place of artwork of exquisite historical magnificence. The city initially served as a political center, and ordinary people were not allowed to enter the city for security reasons. However, the Forbidden City was later transformed into a museum in 1952, displaying rare treasures and Chinese architecture.

You can book a virtual tour for your group to visit this monument of traditional Chinese architecture. The virtual visitors can take a close-up look at the interior and stroll to the exterior courtyards of the place.
